I've used AC Construction now for jobs both big and small, and I would not hesitate to call them again. Most recently, I had both of my bathrooms remodeled and the results were fantastic. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Aurel and his crew have touched every room in my house at least once, with the only exception being the kitchen. Had I not gone with Ikea and their subcontractors I would've used AC Construction in an instant. Aurel and his contractors are knowledgeable, respectful, and professional. I cannot recommend this company enough. The one thing that might be an issue with AC Construction is that they do not offer any design services. You have to know what you want. If you do, you'll get a great quote and fabulous service. read more

I recently hired AC Construction for an electrical job and a panel upgrade, and I can't recommend them enough. The owner, Aurel, is a true professional; he was incredibly flexible with the cost and ensured everything was finished exactly on time. What really impressed me was their expertise; Aurel caught a minor but hazardous wiring error from a previous owner that I hadn't noticed and fixed it on the spot. The team was efficient, respectful, and left the house spotless. If you want high-quality work and an honest contractor, this is the team to call! read more

As a residential property manager, having Aurel work on the renovation was a huge help. He kept the project on schedule, contacting me with updates and reminding me when he needed certain information/materials from me to begin the next process. We of course discovered construction/design issues during the demo, but Aureal offered suggestions and explained the pros/cons and made sure all would pass building inspections. Aurel and his team provided great service and quality at a price that was very competitive. I'm super pleased with the final result and very appreciative they made the project so easy for me! read more

Aurel and his team did an incredible job with a few projects at my house. They were by far the most honest, competent and punctual contractors I dealt with through the project. They rebuilt my fence, built a new deck and did plenty of touch ups and installations inside the house. Everything they did was well thought out, thoroughly discussed and performed exactly the way I asked. They also went out of their way to make sure that everything they touch is built to be stable and secure. Thank you. read more

Thank you Yelp for helping me find AC Construction! Aurel and his team are outstanding. Our project involved painting, electrical, and outdoor hardscape. Pros: Fast response, flexible on scheduling, finished on time (!), super professional crew, and excellent communication and expertise. Cons: Wish I had found AC Construction sooner! Aurel is just an amazing resource of information - he has such a wide level of expertise in all things about your home. During the estimate, he was thoughtful, observant, and offered sage advice. He was so honest and was able to pinpoint what was really necessary - there was no upselling here! What really impressed me was the way he was able to explain what was really needed, and what wasn't. Other companies' estimators just went ahead and gave an estimate for the job, without having the conversation about whether it was actually the best way forward. Aurel's estimate was provided quickly by email, and scheduling was seamless. We were able to add a few other projects too! He was also on site every day of the job, giving updates as to the progress. The job itself was impeccable. In particular, the painting was amazing and just transformed and refreshed the exterior of our house. I'll definitely be calling Aurel an AC Construction for any future home improvement projects! read more

The overall look of Aurel's paint job of the entire inside of my house is spectacular. When he gave the estimate, he explained what he was going to do in each room. He did what he said he was going to do. The edges of the baseboards, walls, and cupboards are crisp with no overlapping of the different colors of paint. Every day he updated me in person on what the work schedule was for the day. His two workers were meticulous in their preparation, and application of the paint. I received 6 bids. Aurel's bid was in the middle of the bids. His finished product was priceless. read more

I asked Aurel to come over to my place to do a (mostly) full repainting of all my interior walls. He quoted me an extremely reasonable price and broke down all the tasks in his quote so I had a list of everything he was doing. The repainting took a day. He was very flexible and responsive when working with me. I absolutely recommend Aurel and look forward to working with him again on future projects. read more

My house was in bad need of some exterior repairs and updating. The old siding needed to go so I got a few bids to replace the old rotted siding on my house with new Hardie Fiber Cement siding. I ended up hiring AC Construction for the job. The result is beyond what I was expecting. Aurel and his guys are friendly, honest and very detail oriented. We were under a timeline because I had signed a lease to rent out the house and the tenants were ready to move in. Aurel was very understanding of the situation and even called in some extra people to help finish the painting and have the scaffolding removed in time for the tenants to move in without a hitch. I have since recommended AC Construction to a neighbor and also to a close friend work work on their homes. They had great communication, excellent quality work, sincerity, honesty and fair pricing. I would not hesitate to work with them again! read more

Aurel is a great general contractor. He is highly responsive and passionate about his work. We wanted to put a side door and window to a detached garage. His quote was reasonable and he even picked up the window and the door from home depot for us. He even painted the whole side of the garage for us after realizing the the trim paint doesn't match the garage paint. Highly recommend him for any job that you have. Thank you Aurel read more

We worked with Aurel for over a year. In that time we were not able to complete most tasks. Trash was left in front of our house for weeks in large pills including loose boards with nails sticking out. We finally canceled our contracts after numerous attempts to get permits were denied not because the county wouldn't approve but because he was not detailed enough to submit things right the first, second, third, 4th etc times. when changes were required he would not follow up to do them. He would blame the county for doing things by the book. read more

I've worked with AC-Construction couple of years back and their service was unmatchable. Not to long ago, I've reached out again as I needed their services and as expected, Aurel has promptly reached out and although we are living in unprecedented times, he was very prompt and professional. The team did a fantastic job remodeling our bathroom, replacing our crown molding in a few rooms and a paint job. To add to this, all covid-19 safety measures were taken in consideration. We hired AC Construction to help build a storage room and a new closet in our house. What I liked about working with Aurel, the owner of this company, is that he is professional, detailed oriented, and he stays involved from the beginning of the work until the end of it. I had daily communications with Aurel, either in person or over the phone, to ensure the project is completed correctly and our expectations are met. As you know, this is not always the case with general contractors. He is very responsive unlike other contractors we dealt with. I also appreciated that I could count on Aurel to complete the project on a timely manner. He set realistic expectation for the work to be completed and he delivered on his commitment. He checked on the quality of work daily and provided updates along the way. His team is professional and knowledgeable as well. We are very happy with the two spaces created by AC Construction. It was a pleasure working with Aurel and his team! We will use his services in the future. I would recommend Aurel if you are looking for a serious contractor who can do quality work and deliver on timely manner. read more

As a person who is completely new to kitchen remodeling, I rec'd horrible telephone service from this company. I called to ask when we can schedule an appointment for a consultation, but received no help at all. It was simply, well what to you want to do, we need floor plans and all that. Well, as someone who again, doesn't know a thing or two about remodeling, except what I want to change, I was hoping I could find a contractor who can assist and guide us through the process. I mean, that's what we would be paying for anyways right? Either way, will not go forward with this company and will not recommend. read more

Aurel did an amazing job for us. Great communication and always on time. We needed him to do patch work throughout the house to cover the holes created during a full home electrical rewire. We can't say enough good things about Aurel, John and their team! AC construction helped us with our external remodeling last year, to replace siding with stucco, re-roof and rebuild the front porch. John was the foreman, he & his team were on site almost everyday and they also cleaned up the job site at the end of each day. They were friendly yet professional, respectful of our home and so easy to work with. Both Aurel and John were very prompt with answering our questions, very clear & organized in their response. When I had difficulty understanding technical details, John was always patient in explaining it in simpler terms to me. He was also very thoughtful and responsible. The first heavy rain after the new roof was installed happened over Thanksgiving. John checked in with us to make sure everything was ok, even though he was away with his family for Thanksgiving. John was very good at providing solutions that are practical and reasonable, eg. our windows which were installed by a previous contractor leaked and John found a permanent fix to the problem that were within our budget. Because they clearly look out for their customer's interests, we know we could trust their expert advice, which made the remodeling much less stressful for us. AC construction clearly takes pride in their work, no cutting corners or compromising on quality. We saw many instances where they chose to do things the right way, even if it was more difficult. Eg. Aurel proposed to remove the old siding before putting up the stucco, whereas other contractors we spoke to had wanted to just stucco over the old siding even though we had concerns about the old siding failing. The materials AC construction used were always very good and their work is meticulous. During and after the remodeling, we received multiple compliments from our neighbors on John and his team's work on our home. We are so very happy with the remodeling outcome. read more

Aurel and his team started the work on time and finished it very fast. We did kitchen and hall remodeling. Overall good experience. We would contact Aurel again for any next work in future. read more

Aurel and his crew did an amazing job installing drywall in two bedrooms of our Alameda home. A section of the ceiling had collapsed in one bedroom (landing on husband and sleeping cats). We were stumped, not to mention freaked out. Was more of our ceiling going to fall? Who do you call? It was our great luck to find AC Construction. Owner Aurel showed up on time for the estimate. He listened carefully to our questions and addressed all of our concerns. His matter-of-fact manner helped us calm down. Not only did he come up with a plan to install drywall under the existing ceilings, he worked with us to keep costs low. He explained clearly what the steps would be, so there were no surprises. One of the bedrooms has curved walls. They pieced together a patchwork drywall pattern to fit the curves. Aurel matched the paint on the new ceilings (above the crown molding) to our existing paint. We did not move out of the house while the work was done, so Aurel accommodated us by making sure everything was covered while work went on and then the bedrooms were cleaned up so we could use the space after they left. The workers were very professional and worked almost without breaks. They must have used magic to get the outcome we got. Perfect!!! And they left the house cleaner than it was when they got here! read more

I found AC Construction and Painting through the fantastic reviews on Yelp and there in met Aurel Cinpoaie of AC Construction. I thank all the previous Yelp reviewers for their assistance. Although I originally hired A. C. Construction to change the paint colors in the house interior, Mr. Cinpoaie noted that he was in fact a construction contractor as well and he could so do much, much more. Within the tight week before we moved in, he was took on the sanding, staining and finishing of the hardwood floor, renovating our shed, then troubleshot some electrical wiring issues. After we moved in, he finished the storage space in the attic (in the middle of summer, no less), added some electrical and customized the closets. He was amazing. With all the renovations and tight time frame, we moved in on the scheduled day feeling that this place was now home: our colors, our floors, our space. His work is impeccable. His standards are far higher than the casually accepted. His communications are spectacular: Aurel kept us updated by text, photos and phone every day on the project. This is my first house and while moving (plus buying a house/traveling/working) I was distracted and completely out of my league. He collaborated beautifully, never presenting problems without deep consideration, solutions and recommendations. For someone who has never contemplated a huge project or the rare opportunity to have something done perfectly and to exactly one's taste, it is a lot to think about and my home would be very different without him. I am so grateful. For example in sanding down the floors Aurel could not bear some unfortunate stains on the hardwood floors, so he replaced the damaged boards. In my fever of the time of scheduling, I might not have noticed floor stains but would have spent the balance of our mortgage, resenting my missed opportunity and wondering how one fixes such a thing. When the unexpected arose, he provided clarity and solutions. And it wasn't just some little insignificant stains: big, deep, disgusting things that could only be disguised by a throw rug that are now history. When vinyl flooring was discovered that would not jibe with the freshly revived floors, which too was addressed and replaced. Closet door an unusual size? Yes, he can manage. More shelves? No problem. We asked him to do projects beyond comprehension ("Yes! In some cases we think find some pressboard decorative") and he gracious assented without EVER calling us out as the sometimes silly couple that we can be. (To my eyes, the pressboard walls in our shed now look quite glamourous, in a modern way.) In interviewing contractors I did run across some of the expected and outdated sexism that still exists and quickly grew tired of it. Mr. Cinpoaie is very much beyond that outdated thinking and was kind, patient, gracious and a gentleman always, while hearing me out and being open to discussion and planning. It was a refreshing pleasure and quite the education. When asked for his opinion and advice he always gave it openly. Aurel is definitely now one of my favorite craftsmen and professionals whom deserves every glowing review. Although I wish to keep A. C. Construction all to myself, I must give him all the praise and review he deserves. Hire him for your renovations and projects; you'll never regret it for a moment. Thank you for everything, Aurel. read more

This is the second time in the last year that my wife and I hired Aurel at AC Construction to work in our house. The first time he remodeled our kitchen and master bathroom. In addition, he changed all our old galvanized plumbing to copper plumbing. This time around he remodeled our guest bathroom and upgraded our electrical panel. Once gain Aurel did an excellent job. Our new bathroom looks fantastic. He stripped the entire bathroom to studs and installed a new bath tub, a new vanity, retiled the floors and walls of the bathtub, rebuilt all the walls, installed new lights and repainted. Once gain inspections were not a problem. Aurel passed every inspection every time the first time. His attention to detail is unequaled and it comes across in his work. The City inspections were always happy with all his work and we had no issues with the city. The bathroom itself looks excellent. You walk into it and you feel as if the bathroom belongs in a mansion. My wife and my entire family is beyond happy with Aurel's work. Not only does the new bathroom looks great, but he was fast, courteous and always prepared. He plans everything in detail and is always explaining his plan to move forward to the next phase. Contractors have the bad reputation of not communicating with the clients and leaving jobs incomplete for weeks, but not Aurel. I was in contact communication with him throughout the project. I never had to wonder what he was working on or when he might be done. I am sure anyone who works with him will have the same positive experience. I highly recommend Aurel for any construction project anyone may have. He will exceed all your expectations and you will simply ecstatic with the work he produces. As time goes and we plan other projects around the house we plan to hire him again. He will be our contractor for years to come. read more

I received valuable service from AC construction. Aurel and Daniel provided excellent service on a stucco removal to bare studs back to new stucco and paint. I cannot recommend these guys enough! We hired them to redo our deck. As you can see by the pictures, they had their work cut out for them. Aurel and John were fabulous to work with. First and foremost, they're both just good people. They were always open to questions, made sure we were comfortable with the answers, and did their best to do exactly what it was we envisioned. This wasn't easy, as there were several logistical complications--including a client that kept altering the vision. :) If they weren't able to do what I asked, they would explain why and suggest an equally excellent alternative. I was constantly impressed with John's attention to detail and his exactitude. My deck is so beautiful, we now use it an outdoor room, and are out there every chance we get! In response to the reviews on communication, I can understand where it might be frustrating. English is not Aurel's first language--but he speaks FIVE languages people, cut him a break! I promise, you won't be sorry your hired them. read more

I couldn't have been more satisfied with fantastic the service Aurel provided. He was very responsive, punctual, detail oriented, and thorough. The people who work for him also show the same level of professionalism. I needed help putting up a wall to separate my kitchen from my living room. Daniel who works for Aurel was there from early morning to nighttime and finished the framing, drywall, applying the mud, texture, and sanding within 2 days. Aurel frequently stopped by to ensure the work was going smoothly. I choose Aurel to re-side my house with Hardie siding, as part of a larger remodel. His crew was waiting for my interior contractor to replace windows and doors before beginning. We discovered extensive termite and dry rote damage that required expensive structural repairs. We were on a tight budget, and with the increasing cost of materials, would be unable to pay AC-Construction the agreed upon price for the Hardie siding along with the extensive repairs. I notified Aurel of our situation, and he gracefully let me out of our contract. Throughout the quote, contract signing, and updates on our progress so he could begin, Aurel was completely professional. He warned us that we might have problems under our old siding. We started to work with Aurel when we were in a pickle after working with two other contractors. The first one wouldn't show up on the days he was supposed to. After taking the deposit he came back to ask for more money and did a really awful unfinished work on our house. The second one was as bad as the first asking for more money. After firing the second contractor we didn't know who to trust to finish our house. Luckily, our handyman recommended his friend Aurel. Aurel came over to the house to look at what was left of the mess the other two contractors left behind. What we really liked about Aurel was that he was not focused so much on the problem but knew the solution to the problems and how to solve what needed to be fixed. Also, he and his worker showed up everyday, and on time which was very important to us. Aurel and his worker Ricardo cleaned up after each work day, never leaving any mess and were very professional. We also liked Aurel's ideas when it came to pick materials. This is very helpful when one knows nothing of construction. He was like a big brother taking care of us. Aurel picked up materials for us and provided all the receipts for our project. There was never any extra items on any of the receipts or anything questionable. He is very trustworthy He was very comfortable and easy to work with and neighbors complimented us on how good our newly painted house and the stained deck looks now. We are definitely hiring him again for all of our future needs. read more

I hired Aurel to remodel my condo: - scrape the popcorn off the ceiling and re-plaster smooth - including the cathedral ceiling in living room - remove and install new baseboards - remodel the master bathroom (demo'd to the studs) - build a shower pan - plumbing and installation of fixtures - sheetrock - tile - electrical - paint Aurel was great to work with. He's very detailed and makes sure that the work he and his crew does is impeccable. The crew that Aurel brings in to do the work are craftsman. I was so impressed with the work that was done and the standards of workmanship. From building the shower pan (very cool) to the tile work to even installing and painting the baseboards, the work is of the highest quality. Not only is the work the crew does excellent, they are on time, come when scheduled and cleanup before they leave. Aurel was here every morning to get the day's work planned, and came by at the end of the day to make sure the place was clean - as I lived in the condo during the construction this was much appreciated - I had no problems. I couldn't be happier with the work that was done on my place. I had fun working with the guys, figuring out how things should be placed, colors, etc. I'm not sure that living in your place while construction is going on is considered a fun experience, but Aurel and his crew made it so! I also appreciated that Aurel kept the lines of communication open- he called with status and for scheduling - he's definitely on top of things and didn't "disappear" . I have another bathroom to remodel and will definitely hire Aurel again. read more

I contacted AC Construction for help with my need for wood repair and exterior painting on my home. I had already contacted several others and encountered frequent experiences of service providers who were friendly and seemed promising, but their estimates were either too high in cost or tended to cut quality as a way to reduce cost, or, worse, they simply didn't follow-through. Aurel of AC Construction is an intelligent and experienced contractor, who impressed me from our first meeting. He was very responsive in discussing my project and helping to educate me about better ways of doing it. He was not pushy but very willing to answer my questions and share his knowledge and experience to help me come up with a better understanding and eventually a better plan and a better result. He provided a very reasonable offer for the work, and was very cooperative in modifying it when I needed to make changes. I appreciated his friendliness, his flexibility, his attention to detail, and his coming through with quality work in a timely manner. Aurel told me he would find a way to fit my project into his schedule and get it done ahead of rainy weather. He did. Beyond that, he was very receptive to things like using higher quality paint and including some extras I hadn't thought of when we first discussed the project, and he provided excellent supervision of his subcontractors -- all of which improved the final result. I feel very grateful to have discovered Aurel/AC Construction as a reliable and affordable source of quality work, and he is high on my go-to list when future work is needed. read more

We later hired him to replace rotten trim around the windows along the upper and lower stories of our house and paint them. He was pleasant to be around and trustworthy. He also came by when we had a leak in our ceiling and climbed around the roof and caulked around the flashing. He tried not to charge us as he felt it wasn't a big deal. It was to us!
