    Chips & salsa

The chips were crispy. They looked thick, but they weren't. The salsa was ok. I have had better. There was a robot bringing out complimentary chips & salsa . A person brought mine, but not sure if it was b/c I was a party of 1 or not. I ordered the burrito loco. It was ok. The lettuce, surprisingly, was overpowering the burrito when I mixed it all together. I saw the cheese sauce on the burrito, but couldn't really taste it. The restaurant had a full bar and looked very clean inside. My server was a hiy and he was very attentive and courteous.

Abuela's Mexican Cuisine . The texture and consistency of the food was good in comparison to other Mexican restaurants in the area, however the taste left a lot to be desired. The authentic Mexican taste that we all love was non existence. The food was flavorless and boring. Louisiana Mexican food is expected to have bold flavors that explode when you taste it and this was not. Add more seasonings and a little salt please. .

    My all time fav!

Service and food are consistently good. My favorite is a chicken breast served with red and yellow grilled peppers and zucchini served with lots of creamy queso. I get the creamed spinach and potatoes as my side.

    3 Piece Yolandas Enchilada

First time eating here. Not like the same old same old other Mexican restaurants. My enchiladas were very seasoned and very good. The Mexican rice was very fresh and fluffy. My husband was happy with his steak soft tacos. The queso was good it wasn't quite as hot as I like it though. The chips were very crispy and brown I like them that way. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. P. S. The robot was an extra touch even though we had to get up and take the chips and salsa off. The robot speaks to you, but we couldn't hear it for the loud party next to us. Will return. Enjoyed very much.

Seated right away. Robot brought us chips and salsa quickly. Our drink order was taken and delivered quickly. Our food arrived soon after we ordered it. I had shrimp ranchero there were at least 14 shrimp. The food was hot and very tasty. Hubby had a steak quesadilla. He said it was tasty and hot. Our server, Johny was very nice and attentive. I would definitely come here again. Atmosphere was casual and not noisy at all.

Let me start off by saying I LOVE chicken cracklings. Being from Mississippi, we don't really have…read morespots that sell them fresh like Louisiana does. So whenever I'm passing through, stopping at Billy's Boudin & Cracklin or Randall's Cajun Foods is a must for me. I went to Randall's today. About 5 months ago, I stopped in and the cracklings had clearly been sitting for a while, they were tough. I explained my concern and even offered to pay extra just to have a fresh batch cooked. After going back and forth, they finally made them fresh, and they were exactly what I wanted. Fast forward to today, I called ahead and specifically asked for fresh cracklings. The young man on the phone said okay, no problem. I walk in 5 minutes later and there's already a bag waiting. I asked where they came from and she told me they were cooked that morning. That was an immediate no for me. If I'm spending $21 for a pound, I don't want tough, sitting all day cracklings. Go ahead and put those back. I ended up trying the boudin balls, big mistake. You could tell they had been sitting too. At that point, I didn't even have the energy to go back and forth or ask for a manager. Honestly, it should be a given. This picture is pepper jack boudin ball. Look how dry it is . Needless to say, I won't be back.

The order was to be ready today Dec 27th at 10:00 We just got a call at 9:01 and were notified that there is no meat! I want the public to know that this place is not one to order meats from! We now have 4 hours to come up with something for our family. Family members coming in from LA and Shreveport. You certainly can not depend on this place. Also last week we bought a chicken and dumpling casserole that was horrible! Only dark meet was used! Please do not confuse this company with Randall' Captain Averies on Ferrand. The company that gave the poor service is Randall's on Sterlington Road. This owners purchased this place two years are.

We decided to eat here on a recommendation from a family member who use to live in the area. The food did not disappoint. They brought us out some jalapeño hush puppies to munch on with our chicken sausage gumbo. I am not a fan of jalapeños but my husband can't get enough. We both had the chicken sausage gumbo because who comes to Louisiana and doesn't eat gumbo. The roux was dark brown and just the right amount of creamy thickness, chunks of tender chicken and sausage. This gumbo had some okra in it, which I was happy to see because we love okra in our gumbo. I had the fried catfish and the breading nice and crispy and not too thick. I decided to have a baked potato with mine and it was loaded with all the goodies. My husband had the blackened catfish and he said it was as good as any he has ever had and he has had plenty. He ordered the asparagus which was crunchy and crisp. We both split the bread pudding on a recommendation from our server. It was a little too sweet for me but husband really enjoyed his. If you are ever in the area, stop in, you will not be disappointed. Ask for Kaylee as your server. She will take care of you.
