This place is so lazy and doesn't care about service to go AT ALL. The food was overcooked and directions not followed. Their fries are so nasty and soggy, even though they can literally just package them correctly to prevent that- they won't. The sides of sauce are always wrong, and you don't ever get the amount you paid for. Meat is tough, nothing on menu reflects the actual item received. Big props to Abu Omar for being open during the arctic blast. These guys did amazing job. They had quite a big line but let me tell you what these guys were cooking up food so fast service clients I don't think I've been waiting five minutes. So big props are these guys for doing the right thing during the arctic blast. Food: I went with a beef Shawarma. It was very tasty and full of flavor. It was priced well. One thing I wanted to try was the beef kebab but I deafly understand that they had a limited menu during the arctic blast so this is something that I will come back and try for sure. I'm a big fan of beef kebab and I bet you they do a great job here I will definitely come back many more times because I enjoyed the big Shawarma. The customer service was very good as well. The people working here are very nice. Very nice family owned business. I believe they have locations all over Houston. If you were in the area I've never tried them I suggest giving them a shot. Absolutely love this place! I always order ahead by calling on the phone about 20 minutes before I know I will reach here, since that is how long it takes for my food to be ready. However, they almost always make me wait about 10 to 15 minutes more even though it was supposed to be ready earlier, but the food is worth the wait. They are halal (I think the name gave it away) and so, a better option around for those who like to eat halal. The italian shawarma is my favorite item here, besides the kibble. I like the way they season the fries and give the pickled cauliflower and carrots on the side there. The garlic sauce is one of my favorites in Houston... it's much more of a creamy texture and is just perfect. I will continue to be a regular even if my food does take to long to be made. I got the gyro and chicken shawarma with fries (which came with tasty veggies that I think were pickled?) and both were good, pretty crunchy and fairly big in size. The beef shawarma sandwich was Dynamite. The falafel is also one of the best that I've had. I'm not a huge fan of the marinade flavor of the chicken so I try to stick with beef. You won't be disappointed by stopping here. read more

I am a mix of different cultures around the globe, all of which have amazing food. I am 1/2 Lebanese and I have tried many food trucks and restaurants that claim to have good or great food with fancy pictures but I must say that Abu Omar Halal is where it's at. The food is to die for and the service from the guys who serve the food is second to none. The Kibbeh was deliciously crunchy and flavorful. I haven't had it in years and it brought tears to my eyes! My chicken over rice and my beef shawarma over rice were both delicious the times I have ordered it. It's not my first choice, but this place is ALWAYS open! I ordered at 2:00 AM in the middle of a storm for Doordash and received my beef shawarma piping hot at 2:20 AM. I am not personally a fan of the garlic sauce, but the flavors aren't bad. The meat can be a bit dry but I don't mind it. This is usually a place I order from late at night when nothing is open, and for that, it's hard to be disappointed. The rice is super delicious though. Was craving Shawarma, Hummus and other Lebanese food for dinner tonight. Breezed past the typical online options in the Spring/Klein area of metro Houston with a been-there-done-that stance. Landed on Abu Omar food truck's website and online reviews. Typically don't go for food truck fare as it tends to be so-so and pricey to boot. Since this was a new option for us and menu looked intriguing with reasonably priced items on it, decided to give it a try. Glad we did! The food truck is situated in the front lot of a car wash on the north side along Louetta Rd, just east of Spring Steubner - next to a Precision Car Care lot. What's confusing is a competing food truck (Al Reem Halal) located just adjacent, to the west. Turned in there first and then realizing mistake, ventured next door to Abu Omar. Ordered Beef, Chicken and Gyro Arabi sandwiches and Gyro and Rice platters. Passed on the Hummus as the person taking our order was honest enough to mention that they buy it from elsewhere and resell at a premium ($4 for a very small tub). The food was delicious, reasonably priced ($60 for 5 platters, including 18% tip and taxes) and plenty..the Arabi sandwiches came in toasted, crunchy, bite-sized tortilla pieces , the meats were very tender and tasty. The accompanying pickled veggies had the right amount of tang and the crispy French fries were very well seasoned! The Basmati rice was also nicely flavored. All in all a very good option in the area...service was very friendly and food was cooked to order - hence a 15-20 min wait. There are clean picnic benches in front and next door are a smoothie truck and a Korean-Mexican fusion food truck! Intend trying out both of those next time. Abu Omar has become our new area favorite for Lebanese food! Great stuff! read more

Stopped to get a car wash and saw this truck on the lot. Why not? I've never had it. Within minutes I was the proud owner of two schwarma dishes, one beef and one chicken. The spice rub on both meats made their respective dishes, I detected coriander, ginger and a hint of cinnamon amongs others. The meat was succulent, the bread flaky, warm and crunchy and the dip cool and creamy. I took one star because they were out of gyro at 1115 in the morning and that's just poor planning. My husband and I absolutely love this place and it's one of our most frequent restaurants on Uber Eats (this is where we found this place). We had NO idea it was from a food truck until one day we drove by it. Everything we have tried has been delicious and my favorite go to is just the simple chicken over rice. My husband branches out and tries new things because he knows whatever he gets it will be amazing. The only complaint is that there have been a few times where we've tried to order and they were sold out of what we wanted. Granted, both of these times were later in the day and within an hour of them closing. So not really their fault. But good to keep in mind as you may need to have a back up order! Good shawarma sandwiches and good service. I was there on Thanksgiving Day. The falafel was delicious too. I placed few orders for pick up. The humus was good but they did not add any olive oil to it and no topping as they show on the pictures . So it was only a plan humus in a container.
