Made my first visit to Absolution since moving into the area. They have a terrific atmosphere and very friendly service. I went in for a flight and of the 6 tasters I had I enjoyed the triple IPA the most. None of the other beers made a huge impression on me but they were all pretty decent. I will definitely go back and do another flight and again after that until I get through the menu. read more

One night at a brewery my friend and I commented on how much good locally brewed beer was out there! We made a pact to go to every brewery in Los Angeles and then we'd go for the world. Lol well didn't get too far but we did make it to this place. Cool vibe, lots of locals from Torrance here. Kids, dogs indoor, outdoor! Pretty typical so cal brewery vibe here. Awesome tacos and nice place for parents and kids to get together after a season of baseball. The kids typically hang out of the adult area. Come give this hidden place a try. Update. Nice use of the place during expansion. Really impressed with the new equipment. Must be doing things right to get a brand new system. Didn't take up any room in the tasting room either. Lots of new beers on the menu screens & I will try them all eventually. haha But they have a great Hefe, Lager & lower ABV offerings for this time of year. The banana & spice in the Purgatory made a fan of all my friends who never drink the style. Will get more of the Fallen Angel IIPA when I am not the driver. It is so smooth (English style) but packs a punch. We tried about 12 tasters & everyone found one they loved. Keep it up. Will be back. read more

This is probably one of my favorite breweries in LA! Came here for a dinner date the other night and we were blown away from our experience. We sat and talked with one of the owners, Jane, and listened to all of her stories behind each beer they had on tap, the history of the company, and her creative influence on Absolution. She is such an amazing person and to be able to sit with her and have an open conversation was something we truly enjoyed and appreciated about the company. It says a lot about their integrity as a company, what their values are, and the quality of beer that they produce. We also chatted with Aman who was very helpful with choosing our flights for us and full of knowledge about the process of brewing every type of beer. Not to forget, the brewery itself is not too big but it's cozy and, thanks to Jane, is decorated to make you feel right at home (they also have good stories about their furniture so make sure to ask!). All in all, great beers, amazing staff and owners, and a truly personable company that really cares about their beer and customers. Make sure to try their Saison and Grateful Red brews. My favorite was their triple IPA -- mainly because it didn't have the heavy bitterness of a typical triple. Definitely will be back! read more

Awesome beers and super friendly bartenders! I love the church theme here too. This location in Torrance is in a warehouse, complete with pews to sit on, but otherwise looks a lot like a normal tasting room. Their taster flight is $8 for four 4 oz. pours, and the best part is that you can choose tasters that cost more than $2 if you go this route (several of them are $3 for a taster if purchased on their own), so that's the best bang for your buck. Apparently the Trespasser Strawberry Saison is the most popular right now, which isn't surprising because it is delicious! Make sure you try that one if you come here. How have I not yet reviewed this brewery. I love how there's this small brewery community growing in Torrance now. Absolution is one of my favorites - not only because they have free chips but because they have very good beer with a wide variety to choose from as well. Inside is interesting how they have pews for seating hehe it's a nice spot to come chill with your friends. But they do close early, like most other breweries. If drinking in an office park is your cup of tea, but the drive to OC is too much to bear, then this personality-vacant, cigarette-infused swill manufacturer is a must-see. I'm not sure what some people think they are going to get at a grand opening or the next few weeks with the a new brewery or any other business, but I was impressed. Steve and Nigel are great hosts with a vast amount of knowledge of beers. I for one was very happy with the beers they had on tap. I've been there twice in two weeks and was one of the lucky 125 to become a Mugger along with 10 of my close friends. I think the Fallen Angel and Cardinal Sin have the perfect amount of carbonation and loaded with flavor. This will probably become a Thursday night ritual for my co-workers and I. Torrance has become a huge mecca for micro breweries in the past few years and Absolution Brewing Company is definitely in the top 3 of that list. Nigel Heath, the owner, is an extremely nice guy and always makes you feel like family when he's around. Bart is the beer master brewer there and he's a character too. He can definitely fit into the Simpsons family in a good way. Goofy and always fun to be around. The wicked and the fallen angel IPA are my favorites and have a good flavor the embodies the hopiness of a typical IPA. But if you don't know what you want, they have flight options that are extremely well priced. I think its like 6x beers at 4-5oz pours for $10? Either way it is super worth it even if you already do know what you like. The brewery is in this awesome warehouse setting, which is typical, but the way ambiance the setup gives off us unique in itself. You just have to see it for yourself. Friday nights a food truck comes around as well and I had a delicious jalapeno dog mixed with some buffalo tots which are perfect compliments to the beer. If you ever want to go Brewery hopping in Torrance, this definitely needs to be one of your stops. Cheers! read more

Great Torrance brewery with fantastic ownership/staff. The cooperative is just east of the Torrance Civic Center in an industrial park. Having just opened in 2014, it is not a large establishment, but the tasting area is as big as some of the other breweries in the area. They have church pews, a tasting bar and side bars, and there was a food truck parked out front (they also sell potato chips). (FYI: The music is pretty loud but the other patrons are friendly and chatty.) They have a wide variety of excellent beers...our faves were the Brown Mule, the Crimson Ale and the Coffee Porter. You can bring your own food in and kids are welcome (they have homemade root beer (a hit in our group) and cream soda and coloring books with crayons). We are very happy to have this little addition to the South Bay and highly recommend. DH was a happy guy! read more

I absolutely love this place. Dog friendly (they have water bowls for dogs). Kid friendly ( they have lots of activity books and crayons). Parent friendly ( killer beers) and amazing atmosphere. I have tried every beer and the darks are outstanding. Loved it so much I supported by becoming a mug vip member. The milk stout has defined stouts for me personally. Amazing and I get my growler refilled every trip. The guys behind the bar are so friendly and funny. I have tried all the other neighboring breweries and none hold a candle. Good work guys! No food but the serve snack bags, have food trucks on weekends and you can order pizza to be delivered here. Win win. read more

Great name, great looking facility, completely underwhelming beer. I am a frequenter of all of the local breweries and have somehow always managed to miss Absolution. I finally got the chance to try it last week. I had 3 flights of tasters, and kept waiting for something to stand out to me, but nothing ever did. One of their employees suggested their Imperial IPA as his personal favorite, and I couldn't even finish the taster it was so bad. Fizzy, flavorless, and boring beer. If you want the best, try Smog City, or Phantom Carriage if you like sours. King Harbor has also come a long way, and El Segundo is fantastic. These guys have a lot of potential with the name, facility, and location, but they're gonna need to learn how to brew beer if they want to compete with anyone else in town. read more

Friends and I just left from their opening. We agree that Absolution has a lot of promise, but we'd love to see them focus their work into one quality beer rather than opening with 10 so-so beers. Their operation is small (small kettles, lots of kegs in the room). Their Sinner Stout and Angel's Demise IPA were the most drinkable, and the stout was more like a milk stout. I'm not a beer drinker, but if I was I would enjoy drinking at Absolution! It's nice to see spots like this popping up in Torrance. Hip atmosphere, staff is really nice, and people that hang out here seem pretty cool. I came here on a Saturday afternoon with a group of friends who sampled some beer flights. Everyone seemed to enjoy the beer and we were impressed with the passion of the staff behind the counter. I enjoyed the cream soda which was really smooth and not overly sweet. The place got really busy while we were there so it seems like a popular spot. They had a little food trailer parked out front with burgers and snacks so there are some food options available. We could definitely use more places like this in Southbay! read more

was excited to check out this place since i've been to all the other breweries in the southbay. somehow i had missed this one. and seeing the beer list, only made it that much more enticing. got the guys together, called down to be sure they were open. and on the call asked if they served food since we hadn't had lunch. they answered 'yep', so we started the 45 minute drive. there's usually some kind of food truck or small food vendor at these places, but just wanted to check. probably a surprise to no one that has been there -- when we arrived the only food they have is a bag of potato chips. i asked the guy up front and why they would say 'yep', and got dbag attitude, and this after their original dbag stunt. ok, no problem we pack up and go a nearby brewery, i don't reward people who run businesses like this if i can help it. and there are plenty of other good options around, happily. read more

I was impressed with the variety of great beer offered here. The tap tasting room has a sweet vibe and they have food trucks on the weekends. My favorite is Roveys Turkey. They also have some fantastic nonalcoholic drinks like cream soda and root beer. The cream soda was the beat I've ever had! The staff is friendly and make you feel like and old friend. To start off I've never been to a warehouse brewery let alone in Torrance before. This place was a hidden gem. Is a massive warehouse with a wine tasting room feel the craft beer that they brew is amazing they make it for all seasons IPAs darks its about 30 on top I'm sure you'll find something that you like. They had a little roach coach but there was nothing wrote you about it it was a very chef oriented dining Kart. Another new and hidden brewery in Torrance! It's in the midst of an industrial area in what seem to look like brand new office buildings. The entrance is off on the side. I tried their Possessed Porter which is at 5% abv but was enjoyable and a great choice to start your brew session. The Crimson Red IPA was also good. They have other ales, IPAs and a stout on tap. You can sit at the bar/counter or take a seat at the couple of tables the have. Not a huge space, but they do have restrooms. Staff was easy to talk to about beer. Apparently you can bring your dog! This is a great addition to Torrance's growing craft beer scene. Their Belgian style beers offer a great variety of flavors making it hard to pick a stand out favorite but the parking can get a little tight due to the small parking spaces but there are usually plenty of spots available in the adjacent aisles. read more

When this place first opened I was happy to give it a try and was extremely disappointed by the quality of the beers. A couple weeks ago I decided to give them another try. It's sad to say but the beers still just aren't good. I was amazed the place was so crowded. I honestly wanted to slap everyone in there and ask them what happened to their tastebuds. There was a brown beer called "Mad Monk" I believe,which I assumed would be a Belgian double but it was just a brown ale that any home brewer could make. They also have some bourbon barrel aged hoppy beers which absolutely don't work..... I'm not actually sure why I am giving them two stars instead of one....I'm being generous. Craft beer has now got so trendy and popular that even a place like this can stay in business but that just shows the amount of people out there that can't differentiate a good beer from a bad one... read more

First discovered this place the day after their opening, so unfortunately they were sold out of most of their options. They drastically underestimated the crowd they would have, which in my opinion is understandable, and having too many people show up is not that bad of a problem for a brewery. That said, the options they do have are very good. I'm glad that finally some place seems to not be stuck in the same SoCal OMG NEED HOPS rut that so many other places are. I'm sure some people love their IPAs, but not everyone does. I'm one of those people that don't. However, the way they make their beer, which is a bit less carbonated than American beers, being more similar to an English-style, even I like their IPA options (one more than the other) and it has become my beer of choice there. They have now got a hef on tap, which also ranks pretty high on my own scale of likeness. The crew that work there are great, and seem to honestly be interested in getting to know the people that show up. I've been to all of the Torrance breweries and these guys are the best (they just need a coffee porter like Smog City to have everything I'd want). They're still working on resupplying the beers they sold out of, and expect to have a new one on tap every week or two up until they're all back. Definitely worth coming back to see what new option(s) will be available. Also, the sodas they brew are top notch (cream soda and root beer). read more
