Excellent beer! Really like the 12oz option as opposed to a pint. Staff are all welcoming and professional. The vibe is relaxed. And was surprised by how good their Irish stout was. We haven't been here in at least five years. That isn't going to happen again. This will be part of our regular rotation. Cheers!

Monkish how I used to LOVE you but now you are no longer Monk ish.... Nowadays you only have 1 Belgium-ish beer. Please put a few more back on. Your Pistachio triple was my favorite beer in LA. You were founded on your love for Belgium beers , that was your thing and you did it very, very well. Now you are just like the rest...hoppy, hoppy, hoppy. Very disappointed what you have become. Remember your roots.

Food used to be better. Service - everyone pretty approachable. Ambiance - lively, chill. Can do without the crying children, but at least there is an area set aside for them.

I had heard about this place in the past from my friend who's a beer connoisseur as well as another friend who's visiting from out of town. I think that's just the perfect time to try it out! Situated in a quiet office complex zone, this place is truly give hole in a wall vibes unless you're specifically looking for it. The place is a mini beer gardenesque/brewery design. Not too loud, it's a good and quiet place to hang out with some friends after work or on the weekends. There's decent amount of parking up arrival. They've got a good selection of beer here from IPAs, pilsners, belgians, stouts. I got the little twin star stout and the feminist myself. Both of which were equally delicious but also dangerous at how smoothly they went down. The prices are reasonable too! The staff here are super friendly and chill, all about having a good time, within reason of course. There's regularly a food truck to pair with the drinks. This time we went there were tacos being served. They were good, price is about what you expect. I'll definitely have to check out their other location in the OC next time I go down there

A iconic brewery for their IPA and Belgian style beer with a small ordering room and a beer garden with food truck. The menu is predominantly IPAs and Belgian style beer and their hazy IPA is arguably one of the best in the region.

Monkish definitely has the small batch brew feel. Having lots of questions I decided on going with a 9.4 Belgius triple with hibiscus known as feminist. I have to say wow. This beer is definitely a troublemaker because it's so delicious and refreshing light that the ABV can really sneak up on you. And that it did. I think I drank it a little too fast because it really hit me in a good way. I definitely wanna come back and give the Sans Fuzz accept because I'm really interested in their Saisons. From what I understand, they tend to be pretty popular. I really like the selection. And the service was incredible.

One of the best breweries in the country. Great taproom with indoor and outdoor seating. A food truck is regularly on site. For their beers, they lean heavily on IPA but still have some pilsners, belgians, sours, and stouts too. They offer multiple size pours generally speaking. Decent size parking lot, although it does get crowded since it's an extremely popular venue. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Highly recommended!

I will start by saying that I am not a beer drinker but I dabble with sours, seltzers, ciders, and saisons. My boyfriend is the beer connoisseur and we both have been to the Monkish in Anaheim when visiting my mom in Orange County. We love Monkish and we normally frequent the Anaheim location when in town due to proximity. Visiting the Torrance location was an unexpected treat. This location has a bigger outdoor area with seating but was very busy when visiting. We shared a table with a couple. I tried the saison and my boyfriend had the West Coast Jive--we both loved our selections. My boyfriend also took a 4 pack home which he looks forward to every time we visit Monkish as we do not get their beers in Arizona.

I'm big IPA beer fan and Monkfish has made great impression on me. So many choices...not only do they have ample selection of IPA, they have over 10+ Double ipa and 6+ Triple ipa, which is crazy. We got Glamora (Double IPA) and Compute (Triple IPA). Both beers were sublime. Colors were beautifully hazy and well balanced. I was surprised how smooth Compute IPA was, especially for 10% alcohol. Best triple IPA I've ever had. Another round boys! The vibe here is so chill. There is indoor/outdoor and covered/uncovered areas. We ended up sitting outside and sharing a seat with family, who were IPA drinkers as well. They also serve food and food trucks on property. We enjoyed Monkfish and look forward to coming back.

Came back after a while -- still delicious. The only downside was the limited beer selection and no beer flights.

Love the vibe here! The bartenders are so friendly and the beer is amazing! Every time I'm in Southern California I have to come here. I've also made some friends here that's how friendly everyone is!

TL;DR: still one of the best Go with your gut, you really can't go wrong with anything brewed at Monkish. And if you still have a hard time picking, one of their many bartenders can help guide your palette Love how the indoor area flows into the outdoor area - super open and chill vibe throughout A lifetime customer Cheers, Monkish

No umbrella slush and a hazy can't remember which one,it wasn't mine.

Always a chill place with a great selection. Service on point, too! The people are really nice too, we've made several friends here just talking about music and beer of course!

Are there tvs to watch the laker game?

    Yes. They have one TV

    Do they have food menu?

No, but they have consistent food trucks- all of which are quite good and always listed on their Instagram.

How long is the wait for beer releases usually?

Roughly, how many hours do cans last at releases? How much notice is there when there is a release?

    Is Monkish dog friendly?

VERY! The owners are pug lovers. You can even buy your pup their own Monkish branded dog baseball tee while you're there!

Can you bring in outside food?

    You can! I have!

Is it okay to bring my 1 year old daughter?

It's not really a place for children imo.

Do they always sell out on every release day or do they have some for the next day?

Of cans they always sell out. With bottle release sometimes have some left over. They post updates on twitter with how many cases left and line updates .

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes. Dog friendly but I wouldn't recommend it. It gets very packed and there's literally not much space for them more or less for humans. Not much personal space and it's very crammed unless you go on a day where the line isn't out the door.

When is the best day and time to go? No lines or shortest lines; Availability of beer, nothing tapped out, etc..

When they open except for release days. Weekends and nights are usually crowded.

    It's open 1pm-10pm

    Is this place kid friendly?

It's okay to bring children, but there isn't a play area or anything for them to do, such as games, like some other places have (e.g. Scholb, Absolution, etc.) and older children could get bored.

My wife and I were there to meet a friend for a beer and lunch, we were a few minutes ahead of our friend so we ordered our first beer, yum, a DBl IPA for me and Hazy for her. Once our friend arrived we ordered food and he got a beer that he liked, as well. The food was top notch and came out fairly quick considering they were getting very busy by now. Very clean place, and it feels very welcoming, music is a background level, so you can actually visit with someone and hear the servers when ordering or asking questions. It feels like the staff is more concerned with getting out exactly at closing time than making guests feel welcomed and valued. Our last visit on 06/25/2026 was, by far, the worst experience we've ever had here. We were celebrating my stepdaughter's birthday with a large group. As closing time approached, one of our family members still had a nearly full beer. Without any warning or politely letting us know it was time to finish up, a tall white male employee (who refused to provide his name when asked) simply walked up and took the beer off the table. What made it even more frustrating was that there were other tables around us with guests who also had drinks, yet our party was the only one singled out. To make matters worse, we had brought a birthday cake to celebrate. We politely asked another short female employee for a few plastic plates and utensils so we could cut the cake before leaving. We were told no because they were closing. This has never been an issue during our previous birthday celebrations here. These were disposable plastic plates and utensils that would have gone straight into the trash, so refusing such a simple request came across as pure unwillingness to provide basic customer service. I spent 10 years working in the food and hospitality industry before starting my current career, so I understand exactly what closing a restaurant or brewery entails. I know employees want to leave on time, but I also know that providing good customer service until the last guest leaves is part of the job. If customers need to wrap things up, there is a respectful way to communicate that. You don't take someone's drink without warning, and you don't refuse a simple request that would have taken less than a minute. Everyone in our party left upset and disappointed. It was honestly embarrassing to watch employees treat loyal customers this way. This brewery used to be our go-to place for birthdays, but after this experience, we will not be returning. I rarely write negative reviews because I understand everyone has bad days. However, this experience was unacceptable. I sincerely hope management addresses the lack of hospitality and provides better customer service training, because the employees working that evening did not represent the level of service that keeps loyal customers coming back. Both the female worker with tattoos and piercings and the tall male were extremely rude when confronted. If you choose to visit, just be aware that if you're there close to closing time, your experience may depend more on how quickly the staff wants to leave than on making you feel like a valued guest.
