First off I'd like to say that when we picked up our food it was late and the lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas and our food was sitting out all packaged up ready to go and our cashier was so nice and it really made my night. The thai iced tea was great and I think they have a few varieties with a twist on it I'd like to try. The coconut rice tasted good but came like all bundled up in a little strange ball which was unusual. I didn't realize at the time but I think the entrees do come with regular rice because we got an extra box of rice. The taro custard I couldn't pass up because I love taro, and it sounded unique. It was really good! It was kinda like a wet heavy cake, maybe like a tres leches cake? It definitely had a strong potatoey flavor which made it a really earthy cake which would be great for people who don't like things too sweet, or if you just love taro/potatoes like I do. I wanted to get duck but it was a little out of budget with all the other things I wanted to try, but next time I want to go for it because I love duck and it's hard to find anywhere except thai places. I was beyond ecstatic to find this new Thai restaurant, located so conveniently near a place that I go to every day. This is located in a large strip shopping plaza, next to Bagel Bazaar, just a mile North of the Englishtown Auction. The place is brand new and sparking clean. You can reserve a table to eat inside, while safely distanced, or you can order take-out. If you like giving your money away, you can order delivery through the usual suspects: Grubby Hub, Door Dishes, etc. These places rip off the business owner, and the customer at the same time, with outrageous fees and over-priced delivery charges. I never order from these rip-off artists, but you do you. Back to my review...I order the Crispy Pork (with crispy cracklins/skin) with cashews, Vegetables, and pineapple. One bite, of the pork and you will think you are on a vacation in southeast Asia, sampling authentic Thai food from the world famous street food vendors in Bangkok, Pattaya, or Chiang Mai. An absolutely delicious dish, with bright, crunchy vegetables, sweet fruit, and a tasty sauce. Every Thai restaurant makes Pad Thai, the famous thin noodle dish, with bean sprouts. I ordered mine with grilled shrimp - all the shrimp were firm and toothsome, delicious noodles, topped with ground peanuts. One of the best Pad Thai dishes I've ever eaten anywhere! For dessert, we had the coconut sticky rice with big slices of mango. We gobbled it down with its side container of coconut creme, as if we weren't already busting from their very generous portions. Fair prices, quite reasonable, I think. Freshly made, top quality food. Gregarious and friendly owners and employees. It took fifteen minutes to make my order, and it was neatly packaged and ready for me when I arrived. Wow - they are fast too. Let me start off by saying the service here is very friendly and makes you feel at home. The portions are very reasonable for the prices. The food is fresh, flavorful, authentic, and well packaged to-go. My order: Absolute salad - the greens were fresh and the presentation was very nice, and the sesame ginger dressing was delicious! Red curry w/ chicken - very spicy, just how I like it. The veggies were cooked well and not too hard. The flavors and aromas were perfect. The food was good, but not the best Thai I've ever had. The tom kha kai soup was very lemony, but not spicy at all. The spice level for the massaman curry is listed as mild, but zero would be more accurate. Spice aside, the dish just wasn't very flavorful. Same with the pad Thai. I found everything to be a bit bland. Wife's basil chicken dish was a bit better. I'll try spicier dishes next time, but kinda disappointed that my favorites were so boring. read more

The owner of the restaurant is beyond rude and unmannerly. She talks down to customers and stares at you rather than acknowledging your entrance into the restaurant. The lady that runs the restaurant is by far the worst in the area. Learning how to talk to customers will only help your business grow. The food is average at best. My husband and I have ordered here close to 20 times between takeout and delivery through doordash. Every time the food is consistently great. Every item is full of flavor, the perfect spice, not too salty, and cooked perfectly. Some of our favorite items are the green curry***, drunken noodles, and red curry. Tonight we decided to switch up our usual Monday meal & order from this local small business & let me tell you no one was disappointed! We ordered the green curry chicken, drunken noodles with chicken,Tom Kha Kai Soup, & Pad Se-eew, & the Thai Iced tea (a must!!)... and we were amazed. The food was delicious & the customer service was even better. Coming from a family with some picky eaters surrounding spice we loved being able to customize the spice levels on the website. We finally had the privilege to dine at our favorite Thai place in NJ ! Since we moved to Texas Rd in Oldbridge we have been doing take outs for almost two years now. The place is so cute inside and extremely clean. The owner was such an awesome host, it's hard to describe her in words Just like any other business, hiring good help has been their challenge as well but she did not make us feel she was doing front and back of house all by herself. Food felt like it was coming out in a quick pace and she even followed up with us several times during the course of the night. 3.4 star The flavor was subtle, but good on my Cashew w/shrimp. My wife had Sweet and Sour w/chicken which had some chili in it and was too spicy for her to eat. The menu did not indicate that there were any spice in the dish. I'm trying to lay off the spicy food, so not sure there are many options that appeal to me. Well, I give it 3.4999 stars rounmded down to 3. Why ? Well the Tom Yum soup had two shrimps and a bunch of mushrooms. I expected a bit more veggies - The drunken noodles was ok, shrimps not large. My wife did not like the pad thai, she said too sweet, no bean sprouts, and she didn't think the mushrooms were fresh in her coconut soup. During these times I feel for these mom and pop restaurants. In the past I enjoyed the Thai restauant called "Pad Thai" on Rt27 in Highland Park (near the falfal place), and nThai on route 18 in East Brunswick. I guess to me Absolute Thai was nothing special - better than the place on Rt 9 in Manalapan, and just a bit under Pokok (sp?) in Freehold. My mouth waters when I see a Thai restaurant on Diners Drive Ins and Dives, IMHO, none of the restaurants around here would rate on that show. read more

This is my favorite place for thai. I usually get Pad see ew which is so flavorful and delicious. I've also had the crab fried rice on their specials which i would absolutely recommend. Not only do I love their food but I order there semi often and the women there always remember me. They once sent a free thai drink for me to try. The purpose of my review though is to highlight how Absolute Thai went above and beyond to assure me the noodles my 10 year niece with peanut/tree nut allergies would be safe for her to eat.
