Some background: 27 female going in with concerns of upper back and neck stiffness and tingling in the hand. I went in because they had a promo that consisted of an initial consultation, X-rays, treatment plan overview, and first treatment. Everyone was super friendly, doctor was very knowledgeable and listened to my concerns, answered all my questions. Especially about how to do certain things at home. Going over the X-rays was an eye opener because the review was so detailed. Great experience overall. Now why 3 stars. Price tag. I was quoted around $10,600 for a 3 month treatment plan. The type of treatment and number of each needed varies depending on your specific condition. It included the following: Chiropractic Visits 1 area Decompression 1 area Laser Therapy 2 Area Shock Wave Months of Nutrition and Support Progress X-ray/Exam I personally don't have that kind of money so I did not move forward with treatment. Their financing option started at 20% interest; again personally I can't afford that. With that said I can't speak for the treatment's effectiveness or results. I don't want this review to deter anyone from giving this place a shot. I do think this facility can provide relief but it comes with a price tag. There are no prices listed online on how much each treatment I listed above is so the numbers I have could potentially be different from another patients plan. Whoever's reading this I hope it helps and you get the relief you're looking for! But please don't look at how fancy the equipment and think that's the only way you'll get better. read more

If you don't read my whole story, know this. They are scammers and snake oil salesmen. Listen to your doctors and stay FAR AWAY from these people. You will see many reviews that mirror my experience. I tried them out for my neuropathy, which is quite severe. As I'm sure many patients feel, I was willing to try just about anything to provide relief and increase my mobility. After my 1st visit, I returned for a 2nd to get the results of my evaluation. They outlined a treatment plan for $20k for three months, which included $5k worth of supplements. After this was communicated, the "closer" came in to talk to me and my husband about the cost and payment options. I was informed that they do not take any health insurance. The only option they could come up with, aside from cash up front, was to use my Care Credit Card. Before I knew what was happening, they proceeded to contact Care Credit to increase my spending limit. I NEVER authorized them to do so but they had all of my personal information already. After this visit, my husband and I discussed it and actually even considered taking out a HELOC. Like I said, ANYTHING to alleviate my problem. After this visit, I contacted my neurologist and let her know their findings and the treatment plan. She originally said, although she had not seen drastic improvement with other patients having the same issues, it may be worth trying. Then I told her the cost and that they would not take my health insurance. Her immediate reaction was that any "medical" facility that does not take insurance is a red flag. Also, the price would be a very big risk considering there is no medical reason to suggest that this would work. They called me for a 3rd visit and my 1st treatment and I declined. Months later, I spoke to 2 friends on separate occasions who had the exact same experience. read more

This place is a total scam. I believe that traction works, but this place is an absolute rip off. Staff are incompetent and completely unresponsive when I and my insurance company requested my medical records from them post treatment. (100% illegal, btw). Multiple times I was strapped into the traction machine incorrectly, which at over $150/ treatment, I expect your medical assistants to know what they are doing. Very sales centric but the quality of treatment does not match. The treatment wasnt horrible, and I did get some relief, but def not worth the over $10k they charge. They just take advantage of desperate people in pain. They will gladly take your money and then basically ignore your requests after that. Find an honest chiro with better quality of care and you'll be much happier. Simon chiropractic and thrive chiropractic (also has traction) are much better options. I went in for a $29 special-consultation work-up last week. Mid way through my exam I was told I'd have to come back tomorrow for x-Rays; as we'd run out of time. Seriously? Really? Because I'm a busy woman...but okay...I'll come back tomorrow for X-rays. I came back for X-rays and was told that I'd have to make a third appointment for a work up and treatment plan. NOW AT THIS POINT I NEED TO MAKE IT VERY CLEAR THAT I HAVE ONE OF THOSE CUSHY AMAZING INSURANCE PLANS THAT COVERS CHIROPRACTIC CARE. I COME BACK FOR A THIRD visit. I'm given a 45 minute Schpeel about my spine being out of whak, and my potential nerve damage....yadda, yadda, yadda. Yeah, Dr. Obvious, I already told you that I moved here from South Carolina and have been under chiropractic care and am simply seeking continuation of said care. Spare me the heart-stopping speech about my soon-to-be decrepit broken body; and just tell me what you can do for me. So herein lies the rub: These "Doctors want the entire payment for treatment up front. Because me presenting my FSA debit card every week when I come in is " too much trouble for me"...???? And how horrible an inconvenience it will be for ME to remember to get that debit card out for a 30 second transaction. And no, they will not be filing my insurance for me. I have to get a bill of treatment from them which I then have to mail to Anthem Blue Cross my own self for "reimbursement"; on a weekly basis- after they have all my money up front in full. Ummmmmm...I don't think so! I have an idea: Why don't you hire a dedicated billing clerk to do that for me?!? Because I called Anthem and you are out of my network: which you could not be bothered to be honest and up front about when you asked to run my insurance card. With this type of financial practice in place, they are going to alienate WAY more patients than they bring in! read more

This place is a complete SCAM! I saw an add for "red light therapy" they said was better than liposuction for $500? After meeting with them at a visit, They charged me $3,200 for several red light therapy sessions and some placebo diet pills and drops. Complete hog-wash!! None of it worked. Don't get taken by these scammers!! I asked for refund and they said sorry, you signed an agreement and had to cancel before the 5th day of signing the agreement. They only let you use the red light once per week so how would I know it spies the work? Don't trust these people who take your money and have no refund when it doesn't work! read more

I looked them up online. I had been in pain from a fall and was out of alignment. I was in need to see a chiropractor for assistance. First visit went well normal items like conversation on what hurt and simple X-rays. Follow up appointment the sales staff was setting me up for the close. Kinda like when you go to a used car lot. I felt a super high-pressure sale from the inital sales re p and then the closer when that did go as they planned. They were teaming up on me as if this would help. LOL nope.. I was in pain but had no idea that all the recommendations will total up to $10,000 plus. I have an HSA account $2800 a year that I can spend on health care such as Chiropractic services. So, I really was taken back and not prepared for this type of initial expense. I also am not opposed to spending this type of money on my health it was just how they were forcefully wanting all the payment now. I made the sales team reset their thinking and then they were back peddling and changed their sales approach. this didn't work either might i say. I was getting really irritated with their assumption of me paying them all upfront. This office must be a commission sales environment for each of the sales reps & I bet they have quotas to meet. I will not participate this this type of business and have now found a much more professional chiropractor office in town that is more sensitive to working with their clients' needs with a more reasonable cost approach. I tried them for just an adjustment & a back stretch visit each visit and total each visit was approximately $300 which is 3X more than any other local offices would charge. My leason learned and I knew I should have. This did remove all doubt of going back here ever again. My assessment as you can probably tell by now is don't go / stay away. find a different office with more client focused attention instead of gouging the clients that come to you in a vunerable time of need. read more

I had never used chiropractoric services prior to my 2 appointments at Absolute Family Chiropractic because I had strong misconceptions about what chiropractors did to their patients (cracking backs, etc). When I found out my baby was transverse at 36 weeks pregnant, I frantically researched how I could help my baby move into the optimal head down position. Several midwife websites recommended utilizing the professional expertise of a chiropractor to help with potential alignment issues so I found Dr. Tam listed on the list of chiropractors approved to use a special technique on pregnant women. I was nervous as I headed to my first appointment, but was quickly reassured when I walked through the door. The receptionist was very friendly and professional and the office decor was inviting and made me feel that I made a good decision to work with Absolute Family Chiropractic. Dr. Tam was wonderful to work with (and I plan on scheduling future appointments once I've survived the newborn stage) and he explained everything that was needed to help my body be properly aligned. After a few adjustments, I felt my baby moving around and even thought she may have been head down momentarily. I had a follow-up appointment 2 days later and Dr. Tam gave me some exercises I could do at home in addition to the adjustments I received. The night of my 2nd appointment I went into labor. My baby was head down, I only labored for 8.5 hours, and was able to give birth completely naturally without any medication. I truly believe the chiropractic adjustments I received contributed to my wonderful birth experience. I recommend that all pregnant women go to a chiropractor to avoid malpositions and to help achieve proper body alignment for a smoother birth experience. This place has made my life a 1000 times more comfortable!! I used to have unbelievable neck pain that would halter my everyday life. Dr. Tam & his staff have greatly helped in relieving the pain. The method used isn't that of your average chiropractor (crack & pop), it's called NUCCA and its a lot less abrasive & the results are impressive. I was referred to Absolute Family Chiropractic in Vacaville by my husband's hairstylist who had amazing things to say about this place. Having multiple chronic pain conditions and illnesses for many years, I've sought out a lot of medical surgical interventions, treatments along with some herbal healing via acupuncture. It was about time that I pursue chiropractic services for many of my issues in hopes that it prevents me from having my next surgery. I had my first consultation appointment yesterday and Dr. Tam and his staff are very pleasant and execute superior customer service. I've noticed other reviews with low ratings mentioned that they do more solicitation than patient care, but in my opinion, places like this are successful because of the act of referrals. In this day and age of competition in a specific industry, referrals speak volumes of a reputation of a business. And that's how I knew about this place--via a referral! And I'm so glad I was recommended because Dr. Tam and his staff appear to be in the business of healing people and improving quality of lives. The clinic is very clean along with beautiful interior and décor. This atmosphere makes a patient feel welcomed and "at home". The equipment and machines are also well maintained and current. Yesterday was my first visit here and I had a great experience . I went for a consultation (which is free) The office is clean and has a great vibe. The staff is sooo friendly and pleasant. Dr Tam, Dr Dickerson and Dr Derlyn were all very knowledgeable and very friendly. I felt very comfortable with every Dr. They listened to all my concerns and I could tell they genuinely want to help their patients. They have expanded since last year and are so much more than just chiropractic. I went there to be seen for TMJ, sciatica and bad hip from child birth. I can't wait to go back and begin my treatment. I went in a few weeks ago to have a consultation. When I initially made the appointment the receptionist explained that it would be a free consultation. After waiting 15-20 minutes pass my appointment time I got to meet with Dr. Tam. He is very caring and obviously knowledgeable. I also appreciate that children are so welcome there. I even saw him holding a mother's young child while she got adjusted! What was very disappointing was having to pay $47 upon leaving for the examination I received. That was never discussed while setting up the appointment and when I asked if I was confused about it being free the receptionist explained that the consultation was free but the examination was not. Thankfully I didn't do my first adjustment since our appointment had run late because she said that each appointment usually runs around $80. Dr. Tam asked me to bring my husband in to explain the treatment plan. I am a stay at home mom so we have to stay vigilant with our spending and a $47 surprise left is having to adjust our budget. My husband and I decided not to return because I felt they weren't transparent with what we were going to pay. Another concern I had was that I sought out this practice after reading a claim on the office's website that Dr. Tam is the only Webster certified chiropractor in Solano. After leaving I decided to dig deeper and found two more Webster certified doctors in Vacaville. I would hope that Dr. Tam and his office would be sure to back up such a bold claim and update their information if that is a recent change. I do think the Dr. Tam is nice and passionate about his patient's health but some of the practices of this business deem them untrustworthy in my opinion. read more

Highly disappointed that I did not get a chance to try this practice after reading all of the positive reviews. I called to make an appointment and attempted to check if they accepted my insurance first. Although the receptionist was pleasant, it was unpleasant to learn that they did not to answer questions about what insurance is accepted but instead told me I had to schedule a consult to meet with the Dr to even find out if my insurance is accepted. Of course, there is a fee for the consultant so it ends up being a waste of time and money to go only to find out your insurance is not accepted if that ends up being the case. I understand this is also a business so I'm not surprised by this tactic. However, people who are in serious pain do not have time like that to waste. It would be extremely disappointing to attend a consultant and believe you are finally going to get some relief only to find out your insurance is not accepted there...something that can be prevented if they just told people or checked like other Chiro practices do. Most practices know what insurancea they take so I was disappointed that patient care was not valued more than hooking them in with a consult. This is the reason for the one star. **Update: I am a firm believer in leaving honest reviews. Unfortunately, as suggested in the response, this review was based on the process NOT something as simple as a bad phone experience. My experience on the phone was pleasant as clearly articulated in my original review. The process is an issue when you are in too much pain to "chance" going in for a free consult (that involves fees ) only to finally feel relief that you can get care for your condition then to find out your insurance won't cover all or part after you've already paid for the "free" consult. Again, I understand this is also business. However. Not sure a consult can be "free" if part of that process involves a FEE for exam, xray, etc. necessary to identify care needed in order to determine care to provide then cost for care at which point you find out if your insurance will or will not cover it. For patients without coverage, this is a moot point but for those with coverage then the disappointment in this process is something that can be understood. read more

I have been going there now almost 2.5 yrs. The staff is always so friendly helpful and kind. The office is clean and inviting. Both Dr. Lyon and Dr.Tam are amazing at what they do. However Dr.Tam has treated me regularly. I have sever Fibomyalgia, migraines, bulging disc, plantar fascia, arthritis, and many other problems. I was on 30 different meds. Now on 1, yes I still at times need pain meds..but not depending on them. I can walk with out a cane, I can even wear my stiletto if I choose. He can not remove what some of face with our health, but he asist our body to fight for it self. He does not twist or pop or pull, he does not push any products on you. He just gentally adjust you with out any manipulation. He will offer advice and direction. He is truly there to help you listen and learn your body. To help your body work to heal or stop it from getting worse. You will not be disappointed!!. Yes its seems costly at first but when you stop flushing money down the drain on useless meds, you truly are saving in the long run..money and health. Dr. Tam is absolutely fabulous! I started getting treatment for chronic back pains about six weeks ago. Tired of sleeping on the floor and spending dollars on costly spa treatments, I finally decided to get chiropractic care. From the first moment I walked in, it was apparent this clinic reeked of a cheesy sales pitch. I didn't get through the first trial period before getting fed up with their inability to give anything other than subjective and premature findings of positive gains through their practice. The introductory "seminar" was a waste of time, which from memory was about an hour-long session of stories to challenge your emotions, followed by a solicitation for more clients. I am not a doctor, but I can assure you will find more comprehensive care elsewhere if you are a young, athletic individual like myself. After my initial evaluation I went to other Chiropractors for their opinion. Apparently the purchase in advance plan offered by Absolute is not so much an industry standard, and should make the average consumer weary about poor business practices taking precedence over quality care. read more

Top notch customer service from my new chiropractic family! Dr. Tam, Dr. Tran, Krystal and Kristen consistently maintain a happy and positive office environment which makes every visit enjoyable. I exhausted most options the medical center offered (Family Practice, pills, PT, OT, neurologists, etc.) to relieve my aches and pains with little success. Each specialist only seemed interested in one part of my body. After Dr. Tam's assessment, he offered a holistic approach and treatment plan for my ailments that made sense. He takes the time to thoroughly explain the course of treatment and path to wellness. Having been told that the charge for an initial evaluation was $47, it then became $369 when the insurance billing was discussed. It's unfair to judge a place from only one person's perspective so I'm going to voice my opinion as well. I've been coming to Dr. Tam for about a year now and I have seriously never felt better. Before I saw him I had a pretty serious case of scoliosis, my stomach was bothering me and I had back pains. Don't get me wrong, I was skeptical about chiropractic in the beginning as well. Everything sounded too good to be true but I decided to give it a try because I was tired of Doctors shoving medicine my way as the only solution they could think of. Not only have I felt better this entire year but it really changes your entire lifestyle for the better. Dr. Tam is not only there to see you for 10 minutes during every visit but he offers a lot of good advice about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So I don't think NUCCA is a time consuming joke. It takes some getting used to and for you to see things in a new perspective (but so do some of the best things in life) If you're the type to seek a doctor for every little thing possible then maybe chiropractic is not for you, but if you often question whether medications are even a solution to your problems or making situations worse then I highly suggest you give chiropractic a try. I read about this place in the Breeze Newsletter and they were offering a $17 introductory evaluation for new patients and I was able to make a same day appointment. Upon arrival, I was very impressed with their customer service. I was greeted by several employees and given a tour of the office. My appointment started with completing a questionnaire then meeting with a chiropractor to discuss my medical history followed by several x-rays. I also had a physical evaluation to identify areas of pain and discomfort. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and everyone was professional. Upon completion of my initial evaluation, I was asked to return later where we would discuss their assessment of my x-rays and I would be given a treatment plan along with the associated costs. The staff were animate that I bring my wife with me so we returned later that same day to meet with the chiropractor. I was shown all the x-rays and given an accurate evaluation of my condition, a treatment plan and costs. Up until now, I had a high level of respect, even when I was shown the overall cost of my plan, which I thought was competitive and fair. I was given an option to pay in full or finance over time and there was a 20% discount if I paid in full. So here's where all respect went down the drain. I was told the 20% discount was really only good for the day of my appointment but they would be willing to extend it one day. In my opinion, no legitimate medical facility makes this type of condition to their services. If I had wanted this type of cheesy approach, I would have joined a high volume gym or visited a used car lot. For this reason, my overall rating goes from a 5 star to 1 star. I have been going to Dr. Tam for close to 3 years now. I had several issues with my lower back and neck pain from many years of sports as well as military service. At first I was a bit leary of NUCCA as I had never heard of this technique, but now have grown to love it! Such a non-evasive technique and I can say I feel 100 percent better than I have within the past 3 years! Dr. Tam takes the time to get straight to the problems and issues, and works with you to ensure your needs are taken care of. The staff is amazing as well (Krystal, Keisha, and Dr. Lyons), and has amazing customer service and has become another part of our family! As promised, I am following up after my treatment plan (ok maybe a little late). I came in after having dealt with hip problems for about 8 years. Physical therapy and traditional chiropractic left me thinking I'd be in that pain forever. I started getting regular migraines and my neck cracked in every direction. Sick of getting my head twisted about during adjustments, I visited Doctor Tam. I received diagnostics, creative treatments, gentle adjustments, and advice on every visit. Was it cheap out the door? No. I paid up front for my treatment plan and the next year of visits. Was it worth it? A hundred times over, yes. To begin with I would drop in when I got a migraine and walk out recovering instead of missing a day of work and taking endless ibuprofen. I can move my head. That in of itself is worth every penny. The damage that was done by years of not knowing has finally been halted. I haven't had a migraine in months and experienced my first hip relapse after 8 months. That, frankly, was to be expected considering the years I spent walking in a limp. What is the measure of good medical care? Well the team has guided me through the relapse for two weeks, giving me exercises and manually releasing the tensed muscles. What's the measure of great medical care? Well I have no idea what I would do or where I would go it Dr. Tam closed shop. I recommend it to everyone. The value of my lost wages, lost time with family, pointless MRIs and cortisone injections, and likely kidney damage from pain relievers is much costlier than what I have spent so far. My wife, my son and I were involved in a motor vehicle accident in May 2015. We were referred to a chiropractor here in Vacaville and to our delight it has been a very pleasant experience. A month before the accident I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer so the accident didn't help the situation, but to my amazement dr. Tam along with his staff were very considerate of our family situation, and in no time at all my son, my wife, along with myself were all being alleviated of our whiplash and lower back pain within a matter of weeks. Several years ago at a local Home & Garden Show, my husband & I were given the free analysis at the Absolute Chiropractic booth. We went to their facility, did the complete exam and were impressed not only with their findings but in their detailed explanation of what our bodies were experiencing. After almost 2 years of work on my husband's hips (remember it took years for his hips to be where they were), his hips were finally aligned and pain next to nothing. As for me, I experienced sciatica pain in my right side on a frequent basis. Now only maybe once in a blue moon do I ever experience the pain. I was even up to doing Zumba, U-Jam and other exercises almost 5 days per week! In January 2017 I was in a car accident. I called Dr. Tam right away and they saw me the same day. The jolt I received caused my whole right side of my spine to shift and caused whiplash in my neck. Immediately Dr. Tam started work on me. Of course, inflammation kept increasing as with any impact will do to your body. With my continuing appointments and the stretches Dr. Tam gave me, I am able to keep the pain to a minimum. In fact, I can go back to my exercise classes next week, start off slowly, do low impact and progress from there. I know that once you're in an accident and although you may not feel the pain right away, it will come down the road perhaps weeks or months away. I wanted to avoid that at the get-go as I cannot afford to be in constant pain. I am happy and thankful with the work I receive from Dr. Tam. The staff is also a delight... although they may want to watch the order the patients come in. :) Would I recommend Absolute Family Chiropractic? Absolutely!
