I used the red light therapy sauna when I was going through a RA flare up. It really helped.

The staff was so kind and helped explain all the facilities and gave suggestions on which to use at what time. The treatment itself was heavenly. And all the facilities were so clean! They even have an ATM near the entrance if you forget cash for your tip, or you can Venmo/Zelle. I will 100% be coming back!

Facilities were clean and lovely, they have the spas and massage rooms on the first floor and a clay and salt room on the second floor. There is a vanity room where there are plenty of snacks and water/coffee/tea for you to rehydrate yourself with. I believe you get an hour before and after your appointment to enjoy all the amenities. And if you get the scrub highly recommend coming early and softening up your skin in the spas beforehand. I got the silverbell 1 hour message, which comes with the scrub, massage, and also a hair wash. The lady was super gentle and checked in on me whether that was the water temperature, scrub pressure or the massage strength. I thought with everything going on in this it might feel too rushed but time felt well budgeted.

I look forward to coming here, and the spa itself is well worth a visit, even without booking a…read moretreatment, in my opinion. I've been here about four times and find the spa to be a peaceful and relaxing getaway. My favorite parts of the spa are the dry saunas: both the jjimjilbang and the dry sauna in the women-only area. The jade and stone rooms have a nice scent of cedarwood, and when I have visited during the weekday, they're usually completely empty. I like to cool off in the rest area, where they provide mats and pillows, where I lie down and read for a bit before going back into one of the heated rooms. The women's spa has the typical amenities: dry sauna, wet sauna, cold pool and hot tub. Sometimes it can be a bit noisy (loud conversations) when there are women who don't know the proper etiquette, but once they get called back for their body scrub service, it gets quiet and peaceful again. :) When I come in the mid-morning on a weekday, at most there are a few other people, but other times I've had the entire space to myself (happened today). I especially enjoy the cold pool after using either of the saunas or the hot tub. If you purchase spa admission in bulk, it adds up to $35 a session ($350 for 10 "day passes"), which is well worth it, in my opinion. Day admissions includes the provision of a spa uniform (a robe for women), a small towel and a large towel, use of the lockers and access to all amenities (jjimjilbang, women-only saunas + pools). They provide spa shoes for free (upon request). The shampoo/conditioner/soap provided in the showers is decent! I like using the stool + basin to take a seated shower. Overall, the locker room and spa area are kept pretty clean. In the women's locker room they just got a new water cooler. I usually spend about three hours here. General advice: Come prepared to pay in cash unless you are willing to pay a credit card surcharge. Drawbacks: I think there could be improvements to some of the facilities, but nothing is a "dealbreaker" to me. Both of the women's pools could use some interior resurfacing, the himalayan sea salt room (jjimjilbang) doesn't seem to get as hot as it should in order for there to be a therapeutic benefit, the provided towels could be replaced (they're getting a bit raggedy), some of the hair dryers in the locker room need replacing. I've gotten the spa package of a body scrub, massage, mini-facial and hair wash but to be honest, it wasn't my cup of tea (during the body scrub it felt like they exfoliated parts of my body I didn't even know existed!). I'm planning to try a facial one day and hear they are great. I definitely recommend coming here as a way to decompress and treat yourself to some relaxation. :)

I usually get the #5, and sitting in the sauna and hot tub afterward is sooo relaxing. But the #1 is definitely worth it too! This is the kind of place where you can actually spend some time, unwind, and leave feeling refreshed from head to toe. One of my favorite little gems is that I also come here just to get my hair washed. Sometimes I don't want to go through the whole salon experience and sit bent back over a shampoo bowl -- I just want my scalp and hair thoroughly washed and to RELAX. I've been here enough times that it's genuinely become one of my go-to self-care spots.

She talked to me about a membership and the timing of appointments. She said they had a 20 minute grace period because I said I would likely be coming from work and running late. She said it wouldn't be an issue at all, if I was late the session would just be shorter. I made an appointment to go back for a sauna and was planning on signing up for the membership the receptionist had told me about. I was running late and tried to reach the spa. Scott left me a message. I called back. Scott returned my call and was immediately rude. He said since it was 15 minutes past my appointment he turned off the sauna and would charge me. It wasn't even 15 minutes into the appointment but I apologized and said I understood. He then said there was an issue that I personally blocked the charge and needed to fix it immediately. I obviously hadn't had the chance to block the charge while I was on the phone with him but still apologized. He continued to be rude while I just apologized. I wanted a solution he wanted to be upset. I would never consider going back.

The studio is pristine, welcoming, and set up for total relaxation. I booked an infrared sauna session and added on the HaloOne halotherapy (salt) treatment, and it was pure bliss. The infrared and red light setup is fantastic. Because it uses light wavelengths to heat your body directly rather than just making the room stiflingly hot, it gave me a true, heavy, from-the-inside-out thermal sweat. It felt incredibly detoxifying and did wonders for my tight muscles after hitting the gym. The absolute highlight was the halo treatment. The specialized unit mounted on the wall releases a smooth, calming stream of micro-salt particles that fills the booth. Breathing it in felt so refreshing for my lungs, and the visual of the steam filling the space added a whole new level of zen. Sitting there with a fresh cooling towel, absorbing the red light therapy, and letting the halo stream do its magic was the ultimate luxury. I left feeling completely rejuvenated, light, and relaxed. If you are looking for top-tier recovery or just a private, peaceful escape to sweat it out, this place is a must-visit in Berkeley. Excellent facilities and an amazing experience!

There might be parking in the neighborhood, but arrive early just in case. Perspire Sauna did tabling at a gym I used to go to some months ago and I had wanted to try it out for a while. Figuring it would be good to go for a ladies' day out, I planned this for my friend and I. To start, it's very modern looking inside, and quiet. It kind of reminds me of a One Medical office. For first timers, the cost is only $30 for your first session and if you share a room with a friend/spouse/partner or whoever, the add on services are only charged per room, not per person. Once inside of the room you can choose whatever channel you want and go inside the sauna. I like that if you need to take a breather you can just exit the sauna room. It's still a private space. Sweating is inevitable. Take breaks when you need to if you can't handle the heat. I noticed the pain from menstrual cramps was alleviated during my session, which was perfect for that time of the month as someone who does their best not to take pain medication. I also added in Halo-therapy - only $15 extra -, which is supposed to help in improving respiratory function, though I imagine this only works if you do it on a consistent basis. The associate told me how to control it in the room, but tbh I don't know if it was actually working. Would I come again? Sure! I did a 6pm session, and it was a relaxing experience. I left feeling rejuvenated, but also ready for a shower and bed. If you like saunas, you'll like this. The membership prices are also pretty fair.
