This mailer…read moreasks for $89.50 to obtain a certified copy of your deed, tells you to mail or fax your credit card info, and is filled with grammatical errors. This is a SCAM. The cost to record a deed is either included in your attorney fees or if this is a transaction, it is included in your closing costs. The cost to record a deed in Illinois includes the cost of mailing out, not a copy, but an original recorded deed. If the County Recorder does not mail it to you, they mail it to your attorney who will then notify you. If, by chance, the deed is lost in the mail, you can obtain a certified copy from your county recorder for half the price that this scam of a company is asking for. If you receive this mailer, REPORT THEM!

People can call these business' a scam all they want , we didn't have a deed to our land and…read morecouldn't take a day off work to go down town to get one so, we ordered from a deed company and it came in the mail. Now we have the deed to our land and it shows us to own more than we thought. The deed showed how much frontage we had and the size of the lot and where it begins and ends. It was interesting to see who the original owners were. I'd have to say it was well worth it for us. To those that claim they can get their own deed easily. I say you can pump your own septic tank , but why would you ? The small fee was well worth the time and effort involved.
