Ryan Gable from Starting Point Realty was our agent when we were shopping for a house. We're first time home buyers, and even though we did as much self-learning education we could, he taught us there was always more and more to learn during the home buying process. Even though we had a hard time deciding between single family homes (Detached) and town homes/Condos (Attached), Ryan was always patient with us. He was with us every step of the way with great insights on affordability, explaining how home offers work, even when we decided to switch our search locations! No matter the twists and turns we presented (I'm sorry Ryan!!), Ryan stood by our side the entire process. In fact, he was a mentor for us, who went to essentially EVERY single house we wanted to see, who gave valuable opinions and insights on every home and even the area where the home was located. He checked in with us and made sure we actually loved the house instead of pushing us towards a home to make a quick sale. Ryan is the kind of real estate agent you would want; patient, will educate you during the whole process, and will ensure you're taken care of during the whole process! read more

Ryan was incredibly knowledgeable, experienced and empathetic. He was able to deftly guide us through the process of selling our home and the absurdities of the current market to a safe landing. Ryan was down to earth and walked us through each step, always respectful of our situation and perspective while providing honest and insightful counsel. Ryan worked with us even before any formal agreement, advising on remodeling and market value. We had to sell our condo due to unemployment, it was an emotionally difficult process but Ryan and his team were always supportive and compassionate. Ryan went above and beyond in terms of availability and providing hands on help. This process could have been an absolute nightmare with a lesser realtor, but we always felt safe guided by Ryan's expertise. read more

Ryan and his team at Starting Point Realty were PHENOMENAL to work with. He (Ryan) helped my wife and I find our dream single-family home. We worked with him from Feb - July of 2024 (went under contract in May 2024) and he was there throughout the home buying journey. We ended up purchasing a new construction property which required additional diligence and complex negotiations with the developer and his team but Ryan helped us navigate the entire process like a champion. Ryan is fundamentally different from any other realtor I have ever worked with. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind-hearted, firm & fair, perceptive, and overall just a wonderful human being. Candidly, I was not the easiest client - as i had tons of questions and wanted to know everything about everything esp. since this was by far the largest purchase ($1.8M) my wife and I were ever making. Ryan quickly understood who I am and treated me with respect & dignity despite being the CEO of his company. He not only was incredibly patient with me but also accepted me for who I am and helped me throughout this journey going above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable & getting all the information I needed - no matter how small / silly my info requests were. I am not exaggerating - We would not have a deal without Ryan's expertise and finesse. THANK YOU, RYAN for everything you have done for me and my family. I hope I do well enough in life that I can do 2 or 3 or 4 more deals with you :) (Not sure you'd want that but I sure as heck do) To anyone reading this and considering Starting Point Realty, don't waste a single moment thinking about this and sign up with that team - You won't regret it!! It will be by far the best decision you would have ever made. One other thing, trust Ryan and go with his recommended partners (Attorney, Mortgage Broker, Inspector etc.). His partners may be slightly more expensive but like Ryan and Team Starting Point, they sure as hell know what they are doing! I made a mistake of only going with Ryan's recommended Inspector and honestly would have saved myself countless hassles by just listening to Ryan. read more

I truly can't begin to explain all the reasons you should choose Breanne Schoonhoven at Starting Point to sell your home or even purchase a new home. We moved my dad from IL to TN and that meant selling his home long distance. Breanne kept in constant contact and made a confusing, sad, stress filled process as easy as humanly possible. By the end she felt like family. read more

Ryan and Starting Point Realty as a whole are amazing! This is the second time we have used them and both times have been a great experience. Selling and buying a home are very stressful times and working with Ryan really eliminated those stressful feelings. He is incredibly knowledgeable and holds your hand throughout the entire real estate process. We sold our house not only in record time but at a record sqft price for our area. Thanks Ryan! read more

Ryan is very knowledgeable and genuine purpose. He knows his stuff and he really, truly seems like he wants to help! I went in with a simple request for a CMA and he was able to provide me with a lot of good information, was very approachable, and really knows his stuff. He was able to help me with my request in a very timely manner where others would pretty much dismiss me. I would say, when I was looking for someone to help me with my needs, everyone seemed so pushy and inauthentic. Ryan was very friendly and understanding, and was genuinely trying to help. Thank you so much! Highly recommended for all your needs! read more

Ryan and his team did an outstanding job guiding us through the home purchase and home sale processes. Ryan was professional, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. He knew just the right things to do to help us win out in a multiple offer situation on our purchase, and he was able to collect multiple offers on our sale within 48 hours of listing, ultimately closing the sale well over our initial asking price. I would highly recommend Ryan, and StartingPoint Realty, to anyone looking for a great partner in the home buying/home selling process! read more

We worked with Nina buying our first home in Chicago and I can't imagine a better experience! She was so knowledgeable and available to answer all of our questions. We worked with her recommended attorney and inspector and loved working with them as well. Would encourage my friends to work with her if they're looking to buy in Chicago. We also had a great experience working with Terry on one of our inspections. read more

Ryan is one of the best realtors that I have every worked with. He takes a very consultative and educational approach to the business. You feel no pressure and you can really see the experience and knowledge they hold as you work with them. He was incredibly helpful and responsive in getting my client's house prepped and listed with some unique timing constraints and in a tough market. I would highly recommend Ryan and his team to anyone! read more

StartingPoint Realty is proactive and their experience is evident from the get go. It starts with Ryan at the top and trickles down throughout the entire agency. I highly recommend a consultation if you're looking to buy or sell throughout the Chicagoland area. They offer terrific education seminars and cover details you wouldn't even think to ask. It's a blessing when you find a team that goes above and beyond for their clients, especially in the challenging market of real estate. read more

StartingPoint Realty is one of a kind. I have had the privilege of working with Ryan Gable on the purchase of my home in 2015, the sale of that home, and the subsequent purchase of my home with my husband in 2023. Ryan Gable is not simply an agent. He fosters an environment of positivity, comfort, and trust during the naturally highly stressful real estate process. He has always been diligent every step of the way to alleviate the pressures, stresses and fears that come with purchasing and selling a home. Working with Ryan has made me feel safe and secure. I trust Ryan, his team, and his partners unconditionally and wouldn't dream of entering another real estate transaction with anyone else! Thank you StartingPoint Realty and your partners for making our dreams come true!! read more

Can't say enough good things about Ryan and the team at Starting Point Realty. We just closed on our home in Arlington Heights after looking for about 4 months. Ryan helped us to get familiar with the northwest suburbs and more importantly he helped us zero-in on what was really important to us as a family. Without his guidance we would have overlooked this older home, but in the end the location and great neighborhood won us over. I really appreciated how flexible Ryan was given that we have young twins. He was very transparent and gave us candid feedback along the way. The home buying process is always tough, but we'd gladly work with him again. read more

As a first-time homebuyer, I had an excellent experience with StartingPoint Realty. I will absolutely go to StartingPoint if I ever need a realtor again, and will happily recommend them to family and friends. My husband and I were completely new to the home-buying process. As an added complication, we needed to find and buy our home in the Chicago suburbs while still living in Europe. Ryan went above and beyond to help us. He patiently and carefully explained every aspect of the process and made sure we had all the necessary information to feel confident in our decisions. He struck the perfect balance of giving his (valuable and helpful) input, but never pushing us to make any particular choice on any particular timeline. He's extremely knowledgeable about the care and upkeep of houses, and consistently made helpful observations at viewings, from the quality/longevity of heating, AC, roof, windows, etc., to practical considerations such as lack of cabinet space in the kitchen and how we might solve that. Ryan has a network of partners (mortgage lender, attorney, home inspector, structural engineer) and every one of them is just as professional and helpful as Ryan is. Ryan and his entire team are extremely knowledgeable, reliable, responsive, friendly, and easy to work with. We're very grateful to Ryan and everyone at StartingPoint Realty for making our entire homebuying process as smooth and easy as possible! read more

As an out-of-state owner, I have come to realize how important it is to recruit a Realtor who is more hands-on through and willing to communicate/update me through the process. Ryan was not only willing to provide the local knowledge/contacts he has accumulated over the years but was willing to coordinate all the repairs that needed to be done prior to listing. My family tried to sell our house a few times before and it just sat on the market, which was a frustrating experience for everyone. But with Ryan and Starting Point Realty, the experience was much different and were able to get the home sold in a very reasonable amount of time. I would definitely recommend Ryan and his team to anyone selling their home from out of town. read more

As first time homebuyers, we were very unsure where to start. We came upon Starting Point Realty through a simple Google Search, and truly could not have came across a better team. We were immediately connected with Terry, who completely exceeded our expectations. Terry was patient and carefully spent the time explaining and guiding us through every step of the process. At the beginning, homebuying was extremally overwhelming; however, Terry and the Starting Point team were very knowledgeable and provided wrap around support whenever we needed. He made the process enjoyable and let us lean into the excitement of purchasing our first home. We could not have been happier with our experience, and we would highly recommend Terry and the Starting Point team to all! We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Terry and all he has done for our family! read more

Terry was so easy to work with. Very responsive and affable. There are realtors galore, he was a referral and we were pleased and happy to work with him. read more

First, I highly recommend Starting Point Realty for anyone wanting exceptional service, Ryan has proven to be an excellent Real Estate agent. Working with him on both the purchase of my house and the sale of an Estate Condo was made easy and seamless by the team at Starting Point Realty. Their group really went above and beyond helping me sell an inherited condo. They did EVERYTHING from setting up movers and cleaners to dealing with the homeowner association. It made the selling process simple and relaxed. Additionally, communication was great and responses were quick. Again, I think anyone looking for an exceptional real estate agent and company should highly consider Ryan and Starting Point Realty. -Rob read more

Ryan and his team were extremely ethical, hard working, and measured in their work with us as we navigated the home buying process. Purchasing a home in this market was very challenging, and Ryan and his team handled our offers-both declined and accepted-with noticeable care and commitment to us. It felt like we were working with well-informed friends to find and purchase our first home, and we certainly recommend Starting Point and their partners to any future buyers! read more

Brooke worked diligintly to sell my home. She was prompt and knowledgable. Also, she made herself available when I had two city inspections.

Thank you Starting Point Realty for providing the best experience possible. You had every step covered in this stress-filled time. Ryan and Terry did a great job staging and selling our house in record time, and then visiting every school district in the Chicago suburbs in our search for a new home. Ryan's experience kept us from panicking when we received an early low ball offer on our house... and continued as he helped us stay true to our purchase offer on our new home. We truly appreciate that they worked for us, and fought for us throughout the entire process. read more

As first time home buyers, we came into this completely blind. Ryan was the perfect combination of approachable & professional and helped us in so many ways from start to finish. Ryan spent ample time explaining the home buying process to us - even before we had officially agreed to work with him. He helped us set up a gameplan based on our preferences and worked with us to construct a timeline that made sense for us (one of the biggest things we were clueless about coming in). We went through the process feeling informed and never behind the 8-ball. Beyond being there to answer any and every question we had, the biggest thing that stands out about Ryan was the way he approached helping us with the big decisions. There were multiple instances where Ryan provided us with all the information we needed to make the right decision without ever "pushing" us one way or the other. In the end we made a decision that we couldn't be happier with and Ryan was such an integral part in that. We 110% recommend Ryan and Starting Point realty. read more

Ryan Gable was a fantastic agent. My wife and I first met him at one of his home buying seminars in 2019 and he kept in touch ever since. When we started our home search in fall 2020 Ryan was an easy choice. Ever since then he has always advised us along the way and was never pushy or tried to steer us in a certain direction. Above all, he listens to what you want and helped us make a great decision. I would highly recommend Ryan to all. read more

Selling a house is a very stressful experience especially if you don't live in the same city. We chose Starting point realty based on their promise to help us out with the entire process while we were remote. We worked closely with Ryan and Terry. They guided us at every step and never pressured us to accept any offers. Both were truly amazing and delivered beyond our expectations. Special thanks to Terry as he helped us with the home upgrades, dealt with contractors, kept us in the loop, provided pictures and even took care of moving our stuff to the storage. He went above and beyond his responsibility and took care of our house as if it were his own. We sold it within 2 days of going live!! If you are looking for a real estate agent, look no further. Ryan and the entire team at StartingPoint are incredible! I have bought and sold houses numerous times and can honestly say my experience with Ryan was the best. His deep understanding of the Palatine neighborhoods and knowledge of the housing market enabled me to get top dollar for my house. I was initially a bit skeptical because another top broker in the area told me her recommended list price was $35k less than what Ryan suggested. I followed Ryan's advice and even ended up getting $5k over asking! Ryan helped me ensure my house was ready to show in very short order by utilizing his contacts for carpet and some drywall work. Nothing fazes Ryan! I asked him to work out a purchase and 6-week lease back deal and he was able to make that happen as well. I got everything I wanted and more with my house under contract less than 4 weeks from our first meeting! I don't typically write reviews but I felt compelled to write one this time since my experience with Ryan was so overwhelmingly positive! read more

The best buying and selling experience ever! StartingPoint Realty is a complete full service realtor that goes above and beyond what's expected. Ryan Gable and his staff are super human!! Always in contact with following up and follow through. Putting out any fires that popped up along the way. Even when on vacation, Ryan was in constant contact with me. After we found a house he set us up with an outstanding attorney and home inspector. Any issues that came up, he was on it! Even when there were no issues, he always checked. After we found a house he listed my condo. I followed his recommendations before he had his photographer take amazing pictures for the listing. We went live late in the day on a Friday and by Sunday we had 6 bids! By Monday, we stopped showings. He sold my Condo for the highest price ever paid in my complex for a unit my size with really no upgrades. There are not enough words to express how grateful we are to Ryan Gable, his staff , Nina, Terry and others who really delivered. These people are the real deal. Being a first time homebuyer you never know what you're getting yourself into, but when you have the right people right next to you helping you step by step you have no worries. That's exactly what we got from Diane. We can't express the happiness we feel having Diane next to us helping us and answering every and any question. Our experience has been nothing but amazing. Even the loan officer that helped us Kevin was amazing he was referred to us by starting point realty. It's a bittersweet moment, we're happy our process of buying a home is over , but we're not happy we won't see Diane and Kevin anymore. I would recommend starting point realty in a heart beat to all my friends and family. If you work with them you will not regret it. Thank you again so much Diane!! Knowledgeable, trustworthy, awesome: Consider yourself lucky if you get to work with Ryan! The process of buying a home requires that one make many decisions about all aspects of life, ranging from how long you want to stay in your current job to whether you want to live within walking distance to the grocery store (and whether you are willing to give up that second bedroom to be able to do so). Every place you walk into forces you to re-evaluate all of these decisions. You are essentially making many bets about the future course of your life. It can be exciting and it can also be overwhelming. Fortunately, there's an important solution to the overwhelming part: Starting Point Realty! Ryan was there for me every step of the way, starting with decision #1 (do I even want to buy a place?) when he met with me for 2 hours to explain the whole process and ending with my closing when he called me in the morning to explain what was going to happen that day. Ryan clearly loves to educate clients on the whole real estate process. He will get to know your likes and dislikes and financial realities, or help you clarify them if you're not so sure. He will then remind you of your own preferences and realities when you become temped by the gorgeous dining room (and you will) or second bedroom that will cost an additional $100k (it would be cheaper to reserve a room at the Ritz for your once-a-year guests). I can't imagine that there are many agents who will tell you when a place is too expensive and that you'll ruin your life from being house poor if you buy it! But he will never impose his own preferences on you: he'll gently remind you of your own. And he'll patiently guide and coach you until you find the right place at the right price for you. I looked for about a year and a half before signing on the dotted line and never felt pressure to act on something that didn't feel right. And after that year and a half, I ended up buying something very similar to one of the first condos Ryan ever showed me. read more

I live out of state and had read on Yelp that Ryan Gable's Starting Point Realty in Illinois handled out-of-state home sales. Since the house I needed to sell was in Illinois and I was not, I asked for his help. He handled the matter personally and didn't brush me off to one of his other agents/staff. He knew people who could do anything from major refurbishment, to minor handy-man items, to cleaners, to movers who could remove remaining house contents, to attorneys available for closing, and to a lady (Alicia Pearson) who could supervise them all while packing up the house to ship items to me or to leave them until removal. The only thing I had to do was make the decisions about what stayed and what went, which I did after spending a week in the home. Also, Ryan gave me gentle reality checks about current market prices and took me around my neighborhood so I could compare similar houses up for sale: ie: he was able to prove what he said. He made practical suggestions, giving valid reasons for certain house-showing suggestions and price- and item-negotiating tactics. I had the sense of total comfort leaving my personal keys and my home's contents in his and Ms. Pearson's hands. I got not a whiff of any ethical issues, etc. So I highly recommend Ryan Gable and his Starting Point Realty company to people who wish to sell in the Chicago and the surrounding NW suburban area. He does a good job. read more

Our friends recommended StartingPoint to us after going through their 'first time' buying process with StartingPoint. We attended one of the evening seminars offered by StartingPoint which answered a lot of our questions about the whole house buying process. Even though it is termed a 'seminar' it is anything but, it was more of a table discussion, the attendees to this weeknight 'seminar' were my husband and I and one other person, and any questions we had that he didn't go over initially were answered quite thoroughly. Even if you don't use StartingPoint, I recommend the seminar for any first time home buyer, dates and times are listed on their website. We worked with Ryan on the house search, and he was very accommodating to us, worked with our time schedule, was very personable and honest. He took the time to explain anything we were unsure about and give us his honest opinion about a property or situation. The whole process was really stress free, and now we are in our new home! read more

I had the greatest experience with Kelli as my agent from StartingPoint Realty. I am a first-time home-buyer, and she helped me every step of the way. She made us feel like more than a client. We honestly felt that we were members of her family, and that she genuinely wanted us to be happy with our first purchase. She was there every step of the way guiding us through all the difficult steps, and letting us take our time with the fun stuff like looking at houses. She would accommodate my difficult schedule just so that I could see every house I wanted to. I could contact her by phone and email at any time, and I always received a prompt response. I was not expecting to enjoy the home-buying process, but she definitely was the reason our house hunt was so pleasant. She was easygoing with all our multiple questions & was more interested in helping us to find the perfect Condominium in minimum time ensuring that all our needs are fulfilled. Anyone can find luck once. We have worked with Ryan and the StartingPoint Realty team three times now and have been delighted every time. Selling our condo during a pandemic was unfortunate timing. Ryan and his team were a pleasure to work with in helping me sell my father's house in Rolling Meadows. Ryan was very accessible, and he helped me make the right decisions at each stage of the sales process. Working with StartingPoint Realty was the best decision that my Fiance and I could have ever made! We worked with Ryan Gable, and he made everything so seamless and easy to understand. This was our first home purchase, so that was much appreciated! From the start, Ryan reinforced that he was there to guide us, and bestow his knowledge on us. He wasn't going to push us into anything we didn't want. I know that sounds silly to say, but I have heard horror stories about Realtors pushing for a sale, as opposed to being patient and getting their client what they want. Whenever we entered a listing, Ryan was sure to point out the pluses or minuses of the property. He did so with easy to understand terms, and always talked about how those issues could affect us in the future. We went to approximately 40 listings before we found the house we were waiting for, and Ryan looked sincerely happy when he saw how much we liked it. He spent every weekend with us for 2 months! From our first meeting with Ryan (At a Home Buying Seminar that StartingPoint held) to the closing of the house, he was there for every step. Ryan is a true gentleman, and we thank our lucky stars everyday that our lives crossed paths! I only hope that more people get to experience the pinnacle of Realty and work with StartingPoint! Thank you for everything you accomplished for us, Ryan! We couldn't of done it without you! read more

It's been five years since we started working with Ryan from StartingPoint Realty. In that time, Ryan has helped us to purchase our first condo in Evanston, sell it, and purchase another condo in the West Loop. We couldn't have picked a better partner than Ryan. Ryan is professional, responds quickly to communication, and is always on time. As a Chicago native, Ryan is extremely knowledgeable of the Chicago area market. He has a strong intuition, and his sound advice is what sets him apart from the rest. Ryan cares about building relationships with his clients, which means he is willing to go above and beyond for you. For example, we really wanted to book a last minute showing appointment for our favorite listing. Ryan knew how much we really wanted to see the property, so he made special arrangements for us to see it late at night. The property was "the one," and we put in an offer early the next morning. We would have never been able to buy the property had Ryan not been so accommodating. StartingPoint Realty has grown significantly in the past five years, which is a testament to their successful business model. Whether you work with Ryan or another agent within the company, you will be guaranteed someone who is hardworking and detail oriented. Our next real estate investment will be the purchase of a home, and I have no doubt that we will be calling Ryan again. read more

Before I called Ryan, my condo was on the market for a year without much luck. I had countless showings and only one offer well below the asking price.
