We stayed at the property on 105 North Cherry St. We arrived to the sound of a small puppy barking throughout the day from the other side of the door that connects the bed and breakfast to the owner's home. Upon hearing the dog, my wife made a sad face that could not be remedied. Bad start to what otherwise was a nice 4th of July. On the second night, were we woken to the sound of some sort of animal scratching through the ceiling. My guess is that some sort of raccoon made its way into the attic and was digging a nest. Otherwise, perhaps maybe someone is being held captive up there and fighting for a way to escape. Either way, it woke us up and was even a little frightening at first. The noise was unbearably loud. In addition, I had a question concerning the hot tub in the back yard. I called the two numbers listed and never received a response. The tub was nice, but the customer service was non existent. In short, while the room was nice, the price was way out in left field and there were several factors that made the stay less then hospitable. read more

Hubby and I always go for a B&B instead of a hotel for special occasions or trips that just call for a little more charm rather than economic efficiency. Staying in the Aspen Room at the Queen Anne did not disappoint! I can't say anything about the booking service itself as this was a surprise trip from my hubby, and he didn't even want me to come in with him at check-in because he wanted to drive me up to this lovely, mysterious location. Compared to other B&B's we've stayed at (around the country over the years), this wasn't the quaintest house, or the most lush grounds, or the best tasting breakfast, but was really, really great in all of those categories and made for a wonderful experience and a fantastic room choice! Definite Pluses: -lovely decor with luxury bedding; the richness and red tones of the Aspen Room are very romantic and were perfect for our anniversary getaway -the B&B overall had such a quaint exterior with gorgeous details like chandeliers in the entry, dining area, and parlor -the location was close to downtown (we could have walked if it weren't so chilly and we forgot to pack jackets), but not right in the middle of chaos -there was a whirlpool and massage room (one of two massage locations through the company) on site...we didn't use either, but it was a plus and something we'll consider when we come back -private back entrance for the room -a full, hearty, sit-down breakfast served in the morning in the dining room; we enjoyed every dish (granola and fruit parfait, breakfast casserole, potatoes, and biscuits) Other considerations (may be cons depending on who you are): -if you're a light sleeper, the floors are very creaky throughout the house; we didn't mind this at all, since staying in an old home with character is part of the fun! -the Aspen Room, as someone else mentioned, doesn't have a shower. My husband is a shower person, so this annoyed him, but we did love the jacuzzi tub! For a one-night stay, this was a decent trade-off. -the room itself was rather tight due to the king-sized bed (doors barely cleared the edge of the bed), but the bathroom is enormous!; oh well--when you convert spaces like these, you don't always get perfect proportions We had no complaints about the staff, other amenities (heating/cooling, etc), or anything in particular. We did like the keyless entry system. This room added just the right kind of accommodation to complete a visit to such an adorable little town. read more

ABSOLUTE CHARM - 4 Stars Friendly staff, excellent website to choose your B&B, quick replies to inquiries, package upgrades available, and breakfast vouchers for your stay! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ARBOR COTTAGE (February 2012) - 3 Stars This was a very cute cottage on a quiet street near Main Street and all the shopping. Bedroom/Living Area: The bedroom area has a large, comfortable bed, reclining loveseat, and large flat screen TV. Kitchen: There is also a small kitchenette with sink, dishes small fridge, and microwave. You won't be able to cook many meals, but it worked for what we needed. Hot Tub / Fireplace: The enclosed private hot tub area boasted a fire place and another large flat sceen TV. The enclosure is NOT climate controlled (no heat/AC). The Hot Tub kept shorting out, which was alarming. We contacted the owners per the instructions left in the cottage. They weren't terribly friendly. They sent out a woman and her son. Neither spoke English very well, so it was very difficult to communicate to them what the issue was. After several trips out there, they still never managed to fix the hot tub, so we weren't able to truly use it safely or for any lengthy period of time. This was a huge criteria in the choice for what B&B to stay at and left us disappointed. BEWARE - You have to provide your own logs for the fireplace. We had to make a trip out to the local Wal-Mart to purchase some. This was a huge inconvenience and disappointment, as we chose this particular location based on several criteria, one of them being that we wanted a location with a fireplace. Little did we know, we'd have to spend more money, gas, and time to be able to use it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TERAH'S GARDEN (February 2011) - 4 Stars http://www.absolutecharm.com/TerahsGrdnMain.html Charming 1.5 story home close to main street in Fredericksburg, Texas. We stayed here for Valentine's weekend 2010 and loved it! The house has two bedrooms, living area, kitchen and dining area, outdoor front patio, and private backyard. The street and surrounding area was nice and quiet. Bedroom 1: Located downstairs off the living room. King-sized bed. Private bath with Jacuzzi tub. The bedroom is small, but comfortable. Hot water was difficult to obtain from the shower or Jacuzzi. Bedroom 2: Located upstairs. Queen sized bed. Fireplace. Private bath with Jacuzzi tub. Dimmer switch, chandelier, and golden stars to accent the tub. Much larger bedroom area and more private if sharing with another couple. We did not stay in this room, however. Front Patio: Cute, cozy furniture and outdoor fireplace on covered front patio. Kitchen / Dining Area: Spacious kitchen with amenities to cook or heat up a meal. Full-sized refrigerator. Small breakfast table for dining. Living Room: Leather sofa and recliner. Flat screen TV with DVD player. Fireplace. The living room was cozy and the fireplace was so inviting on the chilly February days and nights! It created a lovely, romantic atmosphere to cozy up to. Private Backyard: Large private backyard with Hot Tub. We had a difficult time getting the temperature of the hot tub to a satisfactory level for the chilly February days and nights. We finally called the owners, who promptly came out to work on it. They were able to make it so the hot tub would begin to heat again, but it never reached an adequate level of heat. All-in-all, I loved the experience and benefits with Absolute Charm and Terah's Garden was a nice stay, as well. I'm sure I'll be staying at another B&B from Absolute Charm again, so will be updating my review at that time! read more

We stayed at Angel's Diamond cottage on Orange Street during our two day stay. There were a lot of great things but some concerning things. This was a special anniversary celebration but I thought we would have everything covered as the web page promised: chocolate, fresh flowers, champagne, wine and snacks. gourmet soaps, luxurious linens etc... We found a previously frozen chocolate Pepperidge farm's cake with some blackberries poured on top and some in a bowl. No fresh flowers and no snack. When we called and asked to sub out the champagne and wine they said that they could give us two more breakfast certificates and that if we wanted any substitutions on the alcohol we should of told them sooner. The web page also promised imported soaps/lotions. We found HEB hill country fare and equate walmart soap in their original pump dispensers. In the shower we found used Sauve conditioner and no shampoo and no kleenex and no blow dryer. We put a roll of toilet paper in the kleenex dispenser. The quality of the soaps etc.... did not even hit the quality you get at super 8. We called the office and they came by with some Pantene shampoo and conditioner from the local grocery store and a blow dryer. The operator explained the soap ladies car broke down. No luxury soaps on this stay. They also said they had so many properties to take care of that they make mistakes. This is what she repeated to us again as we told her about the missing promised items at the end of our stay. Not all of the staff at Absolute Charm seem too concerned about the customer's relaxation in the end. They have a lot of properties to manage and they had to clean 70 places the morning we left. I feel sorry for them, sure, but should the customer really have to expect less than was promised and should we be worried about how difficult it must be to coordinate the cleaning of 70 rooms in less than 4 hours.? We paid almost $300 a night for our stay and it seems that they have a lot of balls rolling at once and some of the little special things that make a b and b stay special are getting lost. It is all about the little details when you pay a lot of money. The hot tub was out back on a concrete slab and big enough for two, but their was virtually no privacy from the other two properties on the same site as all the backyards face each other and the houses are close together. Yes there is a fence, but it is not solid. The tub worked great! The bed was very romantic and not too soft, not too hard. the bathroom was beautiful and light filled from high windows and had a regular tub shower configuration. Don't come here if taking a romantic bath is in your plans. the kitchen was cute and the whole place was very clean. Breakfast coupons will work for lunch so don't worry about getting up so early. They have about 5 places to pick from. We enjoyed the Sunset Grill and The Ratskeller for brunch. Be careful to check hours and days of operation. They are closed on weird days of the week. We may book again with this company, but honestly I felt like they did not want to hear to much critique. They are very busy and it left me wondering if we would of had a even better stay with an independent b & b who focuses on one property. read more

The folks at Absolute Charm were wonderful to work with. We stayed at Pat's Peaceful Meadow, in Fredericksburg. The views were amazing, the house was lovely and had all the modern-days perks, such as wifi and a full kitchen, but the charm of a lovely cottage. We saw many different type of birds, a rabbit, tons of deer, and even received a friendly welcome from the neighbor's donkeys! We will be back as soon as our calendars allow! Nancy read more

We have frequently visited Fredericksburg and I have always used Absolute Charm for my rental needs. There are so many properties to choose from. This trip we stayed in Lilys Place...great outdoor fireplace and hot tub and a block from Main. I would give 5 stars if they would honor the lower weekly rate on a one night stay during the week rather than the higher weekend rate. The folks in the office are always super helpful. read more

Loved our stay at the Buckhorn cabin- my girlfriend and I stayed here for a weekend in Fredericksburg and it couldn't have been better. The cabin itself is AMAZING. Agave Chapel was in a prime location; however, we ran into a couple of customer service issues. First, we asked if we could get the code a little early to 1. Have a birthday surprise dropped off for my mom, and 2. To have enough time to make a winery reservation. We were told we would receive the code as soon as the house was ready. When I called at 3:45 about checking in at 4 (standard check in time) I was told that the house was actually behind on cleaning and it "would have been a nice bonus for me wouldn't it?" if we got to get in early. When we arrived at the house at 4 p.m. it was still being cleaned and whomever was in charge of dropping off the key did not even acknowledge we were there or apologize for the delay. This was very disappointing as I had asked many days earlier about getting in no later than 4. It also seems the cleaning was cut short as there was hair in the bathrooms and the toiletries appeared to have been used/left over from previous guests. The next morning we realized neither coffee pot was working. My mom called the number provided and was told they would bring a new one over. When she answered the door, the lady snapped at her that there were issues that "took precedence over her" that morning. I would also state that the kitchen was not very well stocked. We ran out of trash bags (only one was provided) but were afraid to request anymore given how we had been spoken to previously. Lastly, the house did not have cable TV. Not a deal breaker for most, but worth mentioning as we were there the weekend of March Madness and didn't have a way to watch the games. Also, when asked how I could review my stay, they said they "don't have that capability". However, if you look at their website, it is full of 5 star reviews only which is very misleading. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at Gracie's Suite in Fredericksburg. The cottage was clean, cozy, and a great location. Picking up the packet was easy and getting to the property was also a cinch. They were friendly and helpful. When the hot tub would not heat up for us due to user problems...she sent someone out right away to get it going for us! Thank you for that ! We also appreciated and really liked the bath products left for our use! Fantastic! Also we absolutely loved the fire place, hot tub, and the privacy!! A+++ The only tiny thing I recommend that would make this even better - and this is just nit picky, is more comfortable seating on the patio courtyard...like a lounge chair or two. Thank you! I would definitely book again!! read more

The hot tub that was listed on the amenities did not work. It was cold and it was not clean. I reached out to maintenance and they came out. The maintenance guy stated he fixed it and it should warm up. The next day it was still cold. I reached out to the host who stated there was no other hot tub we could use (even though there was another cabin next door with a hot tub that didnt have anyone there for several days). We booked this cabin for our honeymoon and we are thoroughly disappointed. There is a book that allows guests to write little notes to the host. The previous guest that was there just before us stated they were there celebrating their 5 year anniversary and they enjoyed the hot tub. In my opinion there is no way the hot tub worked for them and not for us. The host offered me a 20% discount. We wanted what we were promised and what we paid for. The 20% was a very cheap way of saying they weren't going to accomodate us. I would recommend to anyone not to use Absolute Charm Vacation Rentals and use anyone but them. If you insist on using Absolute Charm Vacation Rentals I would suggest you insist that they go through their cabins and make sure everything is working because clearly they don't check. read more

This review is for the DER FELS REISLING SUITE. We loved the suite, we had a private hot tub and patio. We felt secluded which was great. The room was very clean and had everything we needed; wine glasses, coffee & coffee maker, wine opener, cable, great towels, fridge and microwave. Also, the shower was nice, a lot of times the shower heads are cheap and have no pressure but this one was great. Only negative, you're are bout 9 miles from the downtown fredericksburg area which feels a lot further than 9 miles. It's between (not exactly between) the Becker vineyard and downtown area. Other than the distance, which some people may appreciate, we love it. read more

So bad first, Dirt parking lot so if it rains like it did for us it becomes a giant sandy muddy mucky mess. trash and old rotting fruit in the parking lot. all units have motion sensor lights that once on stay on for 15 min and shine inside the windows. parking lot is lit by at least 5 extremely bright LED spotlights that shine directly in windows and light up entire unit. there are no curtains of any kind only blinds so there is no way to block out light. Good luck sleeping at all. Wife and I were furious about this and weren't able to get a single full night's rest. Units are right off the main street so expect engine noise and occasional loud music. Shower would not drain it would back up to ankle depth for entire shower and very long curly black hair would begin to crawl out of the drain couldn't relax in a long hot shower (disgusting to try and stand in) ended up just jumping in and getting out asap. Fire place is a cheap electric remote control thing (remote rarely works) we had heat at highest setting blowing highest possible and you could only feel some heat if you stood 8 inches or closer to the vent, any further and you wouldn't feel a thing. All furniture is cheap pressed wood ikea type stuff bed edges were scratched and chipped one looked like a dog or a teething infant got ahold of it. Minor details like mirrors, signs, and pictures were not hung even or level. Towel rack is cheap careful taking towels off rack it will fall apart on you. Bring your own TP unless you like single ply 120 grit sandpaper. Caulking around bathroom sinks and counters was all broken away from the wall and peeling just looked terrible. Now good, Check-in was great and easy. Finding location was simple, location was close enough for very easy drive to main attractions Bed was extremely comfortable. TV worked. Basically save your money and stay at a motel or spend the same amount and stay literally anywhere else you can find. Extremely disappointed with our stay and will not be staying at this location or with this rental company again. Will be posting reviews to social media, yelp, google, and any other locations possible. Waste of hard earned money and a very long drive. read more

Okay first off my initial view of the room wasn't great. The decor wasn't impressive. Went to hang clothes, no hangers. Went to iron something-iron completely scorched and couldn't use. Pillows were flat. I called the number. In less than 30 minutes new hangers and iron brought to us. And after dinner when we got back 4 huge fluffy pillows were in the room. Our last night there decided to try our hot tub, ummmm so we locked ourself out of room. Called and they were there in less than 10 minutes to let us in. I am rating a 5 for their responses on our needs. Bed super comfy and room was clean. I think the decor can be improved, but would use this spot again read more

I'm so sad to have to write this review! I looked all over (researching in and out) to find the perfect bed and breakfast for a romantic weekend away, before deciding to use Absolute Charm. Upon arrival we were rudely greeted by one of the staff members. One would think if you're visiting a town, you would want the first impression to be a great one! Ours was anything but! The staff member rushed through our check-in process as if we were an inconvenience to her day. So much so, we didn't feel comfortable asking for any suggestions in town of activities, wineries, or restaurants! I don't think she looked up or smiled once at us once. Once we made it to our cottage (Primrose) it was beautiful and tranquil! However, our AC unit seemed to be having some difficulty cooling. We called the number that was provided to us in case of situations like those (happened to be the owner of the property), she was incredibly sweet and rushed right over to take a look. She fiddled with a few things, reset the breaker and was on her way. Unfortunately whatever she did, did not work and when we returned to our room a few hours later, it was hotter than when we left. Fortunately for us, she happened to have another cottage available for the weekend, and we switched rooms. Although the room was significantly smaller, at least we had AC for the Texas heat! Not once did Absolute Charm call to apologize for the inconvenience or try to rectify the situation!! I had to reach out to them about a credit the homeowner told me she would give. I'd like to think they cared enough about their customers who book through them, however from the moment I was greeted by their staff I should have known. read more

My husband and I stayed at Kaden's Cottage for 3 nights for his birthday rock climbing trip to Enchanted Rock. We had a wonderful experience! We did not check in until 10 pm but the instructions for late check-in were very clear; we picked up our packet a couple houses down the street from the Cottage and had no issues getting in. We chose the Cottage because it allows for more privacy, since it is off the main house, but still allows for all of the bed and breakfast amenities. The Cottage is spacious and very cute! While there is no shower, the garden tub is spacious and has a handheld shower head. We were a quick 20 minute drive from Enchanted Rock and could easily walk to all of the shops and restaurants less than a mile down the road on Main Street. I enjoyed the 2 hour "Absolutely Charmed" massage package and was totally relaxed afterward! We enjoyed breakfast on our last morning in the main house and it was delicious. THIS REVIEW IS SPECIFICALLY FOR: Cherry Street B&B My wife had to make an urgent work trip to Fredericksburg, and so I joined her since it was labor day weekend. There were not many choices left on this busy weekend, and the place we have previously stayed at and enjoyed apparently is no longer renting their country cottage out. We were not looking for anything fancy, and we certainly did want to spend big $$, so this spot seemed nice online. I feel like I'm pretty good at sorting website fluff from reality but I was definitely fooled a bit on this property. First off, you should not call it "historic district" when you are miles from downtown. Even a heath nut would drive to town. Misleading at best. The "suite" is very small, and there is really no comfortable place to relax other than on the bed. I think that the bed could be moved 90 degrees and a comfy couch/love seat or a pair of chairs could be easily added to increase the quality and comfort of this room. The bathroom is not modern at all, there is a large tub with a handheld shower and the walls have fabric hangings, so you feel like a criminal when you take a handheld shower. There is a laundry room that dominates the bathroom, and also a small fridge/microwave (nice touch). The bed was not uncomfortable, but definitely not luxurious. When you are paying over $150/night with taxes you should be getting a bit more room and a bit more quality. One highlight for all of absolute charm is the breakfast gift certificates, which are good at several great eateries. Overall our stay was pleasant but we felt we were price gouged a bit on the quality and size of the accommodations vs. the price. Fredericksburg is so much fun, but not really a town known for lodging value, but if you have some advance planning and research on Yelp, hopefully you will produce more bang for the buck than we did. read more

Had NO problems reserving our room through Absolute Charm for Queen Anne B&B. We arrived late after check in time and they had a nice envelope awaiting our arrival on the porch with our instructions and map to Queen Anne. Queen Anne was just as described on the site, just wish they would've provided a receipt in the envelope. There are pluses and minuses to the B&B experience. The breakfast was wonderful, BUT it forces you to get up early every morning to enjoy it instead of being able to sleep in on your vacation....which I love to do. Most of the homes are pretty old too which is really neat to see except for sometimes the bathrooms are not comfortable and outdated....we really missed having a bathtub in our room, only a shower....although that would be fine for most men. Another small issue in comparison to a hotel....in a hotel I can set the temp anyway I like it. In this B&B, the temp is set for all the rooms....we had a temp war going on. Unfortunately, I lost...and was super hot every night even with the ceiling fan on. Someone kept it at 72....the hall was cooler than our room. But the beds were super comfy and I would stay there again. read more

++NOTE: This review is for the Abendmahl Suite we booked through Absolute Charm++ i hesitate to write a poor review about a mom-n-pop business, but I really have to clarify the listing for the Abendmahl Suite, as it is quite misleading. A&C's site states that the suite is "a beautiful old world cottage," which is ridiculous. It's a couple of run-down rooms behind a house-turned-retail store. It smells of sickly sweet and cheap air freshener. The rugs and carpet are stained and faded. The linens are so old and uninviting (I find nothing desirable about an old faded black sheet and and an old faded zebra print pillow case!). The king bed is ancient and has a lumpy pad on it. If you turn on the bathtub, the shower turns on, so forget about a bath. There's a carpet nail sticking up, which my husband covered in a gross old stained rug so that our two-year-old wouldn't step on it. The curtains by the bed and on the "closet" are tacked in. It just all feels very tired and worn out. A little shopping trip to Target would do wonders - throw out all the old stained things and get some fresh ones! It would also be nice if there were darker curtains on the windows, as it's impossible to make the room dark. Also, it says it's 1 1/2 blocks from Main Street - well, it's 1 1/2 looong streets, which actually equals over a 1/4 mile once we mapped it. That's a big difference, when you have a two-year old walking with you. We spoke with both the owner and Absolute Charm about our concerns, and they basically did nothing. They said if they were able to find new clients for our room then we could move out, but of course it didn't happen. If this room were like $80 per night I would have been fine with it, but for $500 for three nights (which is what it equals, after taxes), we thought we deserved a more updated room. It makes me question the taste level and quality control of Absolute Charm, so I will definitely not rent from them again. This gets a second star just for the swimming pool, which is quite nice. read more

The biggest bamboozle in Fredericksburg. We had a two day stay booked for a Sunday and Monday. It was a little over 400$. We only stayed Sunday night. I've emailed them and no one returns your emails. So this is why I'm writing this review. I was so utterly disappointed by the Heinz hous room. It's supposed to have a private hot tub. The hot tub is on a enclosed back porch but it's missing curtains so it's not private. The hot tub did not work, the temperature never went above 101 degrees it's supposed to be 140 degrees. 101 feels like a lukewarm bath. Also the smell of chemicals was so strong even if you wanted to get into the lukewarm bath, you would be overwhelmed by the chemical smell. Anyway no curtains in the bathroom which is creepy. The shower doesn't work properly. I had to finish my half shower in the sink. The absolute charm people are utter hustlers. They are beyond pathetic, and when you leave a day early that says a lot, and when I called to tell them we were leaving early ( just voicemail) we never got a call back or apology or anything at all. I would give minus 100 stars if I could. Again these are shiesty ass people. Avoid them at all costs unless wasting money is your thing. read more

Stayed at Kaden's Cottage. We came down for for our honeymoon. We loved the entire experience while at the cottage. We like the privacy, close massage room, excellent breakfast, decor, location, and all the little things (wine opener, robes, garden tub, remote ac, keyless entry, and tv). The only complication was when we arrived and there was no envelope for our late check-in. We called the number listed and the issue was resolved within 15 minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were late to breakfast on the last day and they brought it to our room. Absolute Charm - Sweetness! - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Fredericksburg, Texas

My husband and I recently stayed at the Inn on the Creek and unfortunately had an unpleasant experience. The sheets on our bed reeked of urine. I have never in my life had a bed and breakfast, motel or hotel's bed sheets smell. Never. This is perhaps one of the most disturbing feelings. We called the maid service immediately and the woman was kind and came soon to change them. While we were somewhat comforted that they were changed, they still had a slight odor. In addition, our tub in our bathroom did not hold water for a bath. I really do not normally write any business to complain. I actually never have. However, when we told a staff person our experience as we returned our key upon checkout, we were expecting to be treated with excellent customer service and be offered some sort of discount. She simply told us that she would note that for her next guest. I truly cannot believe that no sort of compensation was offered with our experience. What's more, I sent Absolute Charm an email informing them again about our stay. No response. When I emailed later requesting a pseudo-reservation, I got a response in about 10 minutes. Just goes to show what they are after, sadly. read more

The massages are not done by professionals. There was a woman and a man. The woman had been working at Absolute Charm for a year or so. She was OK. But the man, it seemed like he had been hired that same day. Absolute Charm might have been short on staff and so they asked one of their friends if he could do the service....he was terrible! Although I booked the massage service 2.5 months in advance, when we got there they were not ready. We had to wait on a patio next to a broken vase full of garbage, nobody around, nobody offered us a drink or anything. I felt really awkward and even more so that I was the one to organize it as a surprise for my boyfriend. The B&B does not have a real spa. The massage services are done in a tiny house in the backyard of the B&B. It looked really gloomy. When we entered the room a half-eaten granola bar was laying on one of the massage tables... During the whole massage a mosquito was flying around us .... the man was always asking the lady what he had to do next...he did not have a clue!! And I was cold the whole time. They don't have heated massage tables and only a very thin blanket and that day it was cold in Fredericksburg... The price which is being charged for this service is pretty high so I had some expectations about the service...if you have this amount to spend on a gift for your significant other, please refrain and go to a professional place. I feel so silly to have brought my boyfriend in such a non professional place and to have spent this amount of money. I wish somebody would have written a review about it. read more
