We booked this quaint little cottage (Speakeasy Cottage #2) for a 3-night stay to celebrate our 31st anniversary and my 76th birthday (we have been celebrating our anniversary and my birthday in Fredericksburg for about 7 years and have never had this type of experience). It is walking distance from Main Street (literally right behind Elk Store). It is a cute little cottage. There is almost no storage. A very small armoire for short hanging clothes with a couple of shelves (one has the iron and a small ironing board on it). The vanity in the bathroom is very small. The water pressure is awful. If you want a warm shower, you have a little better pressure but a hot shower not much. On Thursday night when we got back to the room there was no wi-fi so no tv to watch. I called it in around 10am on Friday and they finally came by and tried to get it to work about 4:30pm. As soon as they left it went out again and for the rest of our stay it was very erratic. Apparently, the router is in Speakeasy Cottage #1, and the extender wasn't working very well. All in all, not a fun stay and very disappointing. They did refund us 10% of our total stay. My husband booked a nice getaway for us for my birthday. He used Absolute Charm to book the Honey Hill cottage, Wild Rose. It was cozy and welcoming. It is about 7mi. from Fredericksburg Main St. I thought it was lovely. My only complaint was how small the shower is. It is out in the country so expect some bugs. They are unavoidable in a country area. We enjoyed the hot tub for a little relaxation. It had pretty much everything you need. We didn't cook, but there are appliances. No ice maker, but ice trays. Blow dryer, ironing board, TV with internet connection for Netflix. Not a lot of rules about clean up, but we did gather our towels and put trash in trash bins. Very welcoming. We really enjoyed ourselves. I wouldn't hesitate going back, but now I know about the shower! read more

If you are considering using this rental company, I would HIGHLY advise you to look elsewhere. They don't care about customers and only care about taking your money! We unfortunately could not make our stay with Absolute Charm, due to an unforeseen circumstance. When we reached out to Absolute Charm, we were met with a woman who had a sour attitude. We explained the situation and were sent to speak with the trip insurance company who we had purchased the insurance, that Absolute Charm offered while at check out. First thing to point out, DO NOT BUY THE TRIP INSURANCE. It's a total SCAM! After going through the insurance, we were denied our money back after paying Absolute Charm in full. We reached back out to Absolute Charm after learning this, to see if they would graciously allow us not to cancel the trip but to move it to another date, being as we had already paid close to $900 for the trip. The woman who answers the phones, was unkind and uncaring. I asked to speak to a manager and was sent to a voicemail. That was several days ago and have not heard back from any manager. There are so many good places and rental companies in Fredericksburg, where your money would be better spent! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! The reason I am giving this company 1 star is that they charged me $250 for damages to a shelf/mantle at the house we rented, when we did not cause it. The shelf fell on my husbands foot and actually caused a huge bruise and knot. It was not securely on the wall and fell off on the floor the first day at the rental. Someone texted me the day after we left and asked me what happened to the shelf, and I told them it fell off the wall at no fault of ours. We left the rental in great shape, and now all the sudden we get a message from Lauren that they are charging us $250 for damages. Its very scary because they have my debit card and I do not trust them at all. The office manager is very cold and treats you like a number. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! If they run the real estate side/tour side like they run the vacation rental side I would be concerned about honesty there as well. All I asked was to have the $250 for bogus damages removed and they have basically blocked me. The owner will not return calls or emails. I agree with other reviewers, there are scary hidden fees. This is a review for their property management. AC was recommended to us by several people. Make no mistake here. If you sign with them to manage your property, they don't work for you, nope, you work for them. Also, Fredericksburg is so small everyone's baby daddy is in on the maintenance crews. For instance, someone offered up their baby daddy to service my hot tub but the dude didn't show up to clean it. Baby daddy dude couldn't be bothered to actually do what he said he'd do. It later became an emergency because looked like a hobo bathtub. Yep you work for them! I got a HUGE list of stuff to buy for the place to get it ready. I had them source some of it but I got most of it myself, including a large list of cleaning supplies. They had us purchase 5 sets of linens for each bed because they don't have a linen service. (Property managers we use in other cities have a linen services.) Also, we have a 900 square foot place. I bought ALL the supplies that were listed on the list at the quantities they requested (and I have the receipts to PROVE IT). The housecleaning service there makes money coming and going because SURPRISE the first month I was charged for over $300 in cleaning supplies. I had purchased a mop set with 2 mop heads and they bought 2 more. I sent my receipts in for the stuff I bought and the manager, was all oh well they said they needed more. The following month I was charged for another 2 Gallons of floor cleaner (and I have the STATEMENTS TO PROVE IT). Mind you I started with the 2 gallons of floor cleaner I purchased, then they apparently purchased more the first month and now they purchased another 2 gallons of fabuloso at $70. Again, I asked why does a 900 square foot house need this much floor cleaner and they responded "it's because your place just smells so bad because you allow dogs". GASLIGHTING AT ITS FINEST to cover up their GOUGING. I sent my sister over and she said the place doesn't smell. Sooo you'd think the next month they wouldn't have the nads to purchase another 2 - 4 gallons of Fabuloso? OH no they charged me another $70 for it. Instead of being a reasonable person and wondering why a 900 squarefoot house went through so many gallons of floor cleaner in 3 months they just said oh we used up the other stuff. UH you use barely a quarter cup for that space per turnover. But no they couldn't possible be grifting me for more cleaning supplies than they used at the place right? It doesn't take a genius to figure out what was going on and YES AGAIN I have the receipts to prove it. Oh also it took two women supposedly 9 hours to do a deep clean on the 900sf place I had deep cleaned myself already. "They dusted the ceiling fans" Yep I did that the week before they arrived. "They dusted this and that" YEP I did that too. I cleaned the window sills, the curtains, the baseboards. Not my first Rodeo. BUT two women supposedly went in a week later and did it again for 9 hours on a 2 bed 1 bath 900 square foot place. They supposedly "reorganized" the garage which was locked to renters but they used to keep their cleaning supplies in. I had set up shelves for them to put their stuff and I organized everything myself. My sister showed me a photo of what they did. I couldn't figure it out. I also had personal stuff in the locked garage. I later had my personal stuff shipped to my home, and dozens of pairs of my shoes that were kept in the garage didn't arrive. Well, ain't THAT interesting.... The whole place is run by angry bitter women who think they're the bastion of good taste. I have had other STRs and have used property managers but Absolute Charm takes the cake with the nickel and diming, the gaslighting, gouging, and straight up rudeness. If I could give absolute charm, zero stars, I would. RENTERS BEWARE!!!!! The listing clearly states that this property sleeps four and we did not exceed four people. Extra fees are hidden behind "double occupancy" rates. For a two bedroom home that the listing states accommodates four people, the rate is actually for only TWO PEOPLE.... THEY WILL CHARGE YOU ADDITIONAL FEES IF YOU HAVE 4 PEOPLE (even if that is what the property accommodates). We were charged $35 pp/ night. We rented through VRBO, and the policy says " extra person charges may apply and vary depending on property policy ". No set fees were published to their listing. The management was arrogant and unapologetic. This is clearly a money scam. Also, if you are going with the hopes of using a hot tub, good luck! After three minutes in the hot tub, we had to get out because our skin was itching and burning. When I took the trash out, I saw an empty bottle of muriatic acid. Obviously, the hot tub was over treated with chemicals and not safe to use. We were not advised of the chemically treated water prior to entering the hot tub. We have rented numerous vacation properties. We have never heard of this being "industry standard". Totally unacceptable. We booked "Across the Way" Cottage as a last minute trip to Fredericksburg. It's a very cute cottage with a homey vibe. At night, the front porch was lit was Christmas lights; which I thought was a nice touch. There is a screened in porch with a hot tub and a faux fireplace. This was perfect for after a day out shopping on the Main Street. The hot tub water was a bit cloudy. Also, the second time we used it the temp would not go up past 92 degrees and it was like 50 degrees outside. So needless to say we didn't get as much use out of it as we hoped. Only reason why I gave this a 3 stars. The inside of the cottage is very quaint. There is a king bed with a loveseat recliner that sit in front of a tv. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets and comforter were soft and fluffy! This is very important to me when booking an Airbnb! There is a small kitchenette (no stovetop) with microwave, sink, and all the essentials. Here is a picture of me doing yoga in front of the cottage. Very Disappointed The property description said "Parking Private driveway", it didn't say first come, first served. There were no space for me to park. The email gave the wi-fi password but there was no network available. I called about this on Friday afternoon and again on Saturday but never had wi-fi service. The AC control was in a suite other than the one in which we stayed, we had no access. I called and they said that they could call the housekeeper to stop by and change the setting. Water to the toilet stopped on Saturday night. Luckily the shower hose was just long enough to reach the tank. Water resumed flowing later Saturday morning. I was not familiar with the keyless entry pad. Took awhile to discover that the logo on the pad functioned as an "enter" button. Took even longer to discover that a long press on the logo would lock the door. Having this info in the email would have been nice. read more

Edit since the owner responded: I added a photo of me requesting check in instructions while also mentioning they would not be there early it was just for peace of mind bc they stressed there was no service. The instructions were sent actually 5 minutes after check in not 2 hours early like the owner is claiming. Screenshots provided. She had also said the hot tub maintenance is handled when no one is there but my parents had left the empty bag of shock on the ground and it was still there on Thursday when they had gotten back (no one came to maintain it, it smelled) She had also said a full refund was always the plan after meeting w the owner,which was not expressed, we were told to go to the office the next morning to meet w the owner and then when they got there at the time they were told to show up, they were told that the owner wouldn't be there until the next week and all that was offered initially to rectify the situation was a different room if their stay was longer. I was not there it was an anniversary gift but there's no reason for them to falsely claim that the towels and hot tub stank, they didn't even pay for it, the stay was a gift. She also said the flea infestation was "small" but both of my parents were completely bit up and they were all over the whole room. (Shouldn't have been any flea infestation at all but I love how she tried to minimize the infestation in the response lol it's a no pet allowed property anyways) She also claimed my father got out of hand first, but that is not in my parents nature and according to all of these other reviews w negative experiences and unprofessional responses I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that they were always going to give a full refund anyways. Especially since I called their 24/7 helpline MYSELF and she had actually told me the EXACT same thing my parents were initially told, that if they have another night they could PROBABLY put them in a different location after meeting with the owner (who again wasn't even there to talk with them when they arrived after following their instructions)No mention of refund. Tammy does not care about guest experience, on this page there are tons of similar experiences met w no rectification from her end and unprofessional, rude responses to negative reviews riddled with lies. We enjoyed our stay at the Baron's creek ranch estate. We had a girls trip and their was plenty of space for our party of 7! The house was so spacious, clean, and cozy. The beds were all so comfy and clean. The hosts were responsive and friendly! We appreciated the make up wipes and make up eraser rags! With seven ladies they were all so appreciated for those that forgot. We Ubered throughout the weekend and it cost about $17 with tip for an Uber XL that fit us all. We really appreciated Sandra from Uber and The Cowboy chauffeur! Both pleasant with big vehicles for big groups. For a fun time, we loved the crossroads steakhouse and saloon (live music on the weekend) it is pricey, but the food is yummy! Our most favorite was the velvet lounge, the young girls loved it and so did I! Such a fun atmosphere in this town! We enjoyed our stay! read more

We waited about 20 minutes. It was well worth it. I love the German pancakes. We stayed at Bijou. It's a beautiful place. The little details made me feel like we spent a lot more money than we did. Their website is great at advertising but after our stay we will never stay at any of Absolute Charm's "luxury accommodations". Upon our first night we notified the management of maintenance related issues including an issue with the hot tub, which was the reason we rented and paid more for the cottage to begin with. I will spare you with the details of the maintenance related issues considering I would be repeating the last 5 reviews. Feel free to look at those for confirmation you should stay elsewhere. After 10 days of my initial request for a partial refund I received a response - "We are unable to issue refunds or discounts after a stay when the on-call was not contacted to be able to address any issues, as they would have come out and fixed the issue or we could have moved you to another location". We sent the management/host an email on day 1 which they acknowledged but that didn't qualify for a refund??? Many of the things noted in several of the reviews could be avoided if management checked prior to guests arrival or even bothered to respond timely to guest concerns. If you want a nice weekend getaway in Fredericksburg spend your money elsewhere!! read more

We enjoyed the experience of booking through Absolute Charm. We booked the Bijou, Jeannine suite and had a trouble free visit. It's an attendant-free check in process and everything worked as instructed. If you run into problems, there is a main office were you can find the on-call number but our visit was trouble free. Not crazy about all the extra fees but I think you get that on all the rentals. Only issue was needing a bit more direction in getting the hot tub up to temp but I eventually figured it out. We will probably stay somewhere else next time just to try different places but would not hesitate to use Absolute Charm again. The Bijou also did not disappoint; it's an old home but well appointed and clean. I found the bed to be very comfortable. read more

Absolute Charm is beautiful but my son Grant made a reservation a month and a half ago and paid $223.47 from a Hancock Whitney debit card when he lived in Morgan City. He recently moved to Lafayette and and opened a checking account at Capital One and paid the remainder of what he owed to Absolute Charm for his reservation. Then they called him the day before he was supposed to arrive and said the air conditioner was out and they had to cancel his reservation. They refuse to refund him the entire amount because they said It has to be on the same credit card the original payment was made. I explained to them that the Hancock whitney account is closed. Would not stay here again Dangerous health practices . Do not trust this place. I called a few days before our visit there to say I had RSV and needed to cancel and I was told that it was impossible. I said ok I can come and stay there with RSV, leave my germs there and just let you deal with the people who stay there and get sick after we stayed there. I was interrupted and told again it was impossible to cancel and told to find someone to come in my place or just come and relax at the vacation house. I ended the conversation and thought about how ignorant that response was by this person I was talking to. An innkeeper who doesn't understand that RSV is even more contagious than COVID and almost as debilitating, that doesn't understand that the virus droplets go everywhere because there is so much coughing and droplets stay on hard surfaces for months and collects on the smallest of surfaces, that would allow someone to come with this sickness that can last for 3 months or more, is pretty worthless as an innkeeper. I would have never put someone at risk by coming there while I was sick. I also would never trust coming there again. This would have been our second trip using this company and our plan was to come back many times because we had such a nice stay the first time. But if they would suggest that I could or should come anyway, this place isn't a safe place to stay. read more

Really wanted to enjoy this place, unfortunately it's SO LOUD! Hoped to not hear traffic when door was closed but traffic never quieted down. I choose Main Street Retreat because of the hot tub. Place should be called Absolute TRASH. The rooms are so close to the road that it feels like you are sleeping in the middle of the freeway. The entire room shakes when car passes. Walls are paper thin. We could literally hear the conversation and snoring from the other room. No hot water in the shower. AC filter not cleaned in decades. We couldn't sleep the entire night and decided to cut short our stay and leave in the morning. When we requested for another room Susan from management was extremely rude and resorted to name calling us. Refused to refund our money for the next night but we still decided not to stay. Absolute Charm Speakeasy Cottage #2 Never again. A parking spot behind room, but you must walk through a pile of sand to get to entrance. That means your shoes are cover in sand and when you enter room, that sand transfers to bare concrete floor. Thats not fun getting out of bed early in morning and having sand on feet. (ADD A DOORMAT) Eight lightbulbs in ceiling, but only four of those work. I guess this contributes to Speakeasy name and feel. (REPLACE BURNED OUT LIGHTBULBS) HVAC runs by remote control. Air barely came out front of unit. I looked behind cover and the entire filter had a solid covering of dust and dirt. (CLEAN AND MAINTAIN AIR FILTER) They give you two bath towels for two people to use for a three night stay. No sure where water heater is located, but when taking a shower, it takes about five minutes to get hot water. After about two minutes, water turns to warm for several minutes then back hot again. (You better enjoy shower while it is HOT) There is no dresser or stand to place suitcase, so it's on floor. Bed is about 8 inches off floor, so it is tough getting out of bed with bad knees. We booked Sarah's Secret as a stand alone cottage with no neighbors. Unfortunately, it was marketed fraudulently as a stand alone cottage. IT IS NOT! There is another room above and neighbors are making so much noise we are considering leaving before our first night's sleep. Do not trust these folks marketing and pictures. This is the last straw of using this company. We will find other accommodations in the future. As an extremely experienced business travel of thirty years, I recommend avoiding this travel company. They're situated in Fredericksburg. We were renting a cabin between Fredericksburg and Llano. Check in was to be at 4pm, and we were supposed to get detailed directions and check in instructions by then. Around 11am on the day of arrival I asked them for directions from Llano, since we would be arriving from there, not from Fredericksburg. They responded I would be receiving detailed instructions at 4 pm. What we got were detailed instructions to check in, and how to get there from Fredericksburg, not from any other direction. I responded immediately that I had asked for directions FROM LLANO. They replied they didn't have directions from Llano. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? You ought to know already, because customers do come in from everywhere, not just from Fredericksburg! If you don't, and somebody asks, THEN GO FIND OUT! You had more than 5 hours to do so! It's important to note that the cabins are in an area without wifi, with shaky phone service, so GPS won't work! After much driving around in heavy rain, we did find our cabin. Texas Rose is such charming house. I wanted to say little but it felt very big. The open concept of the den, kitchen and dining made it feel extra spacious. The décor was so cute and very Fredericksburg, Texas"y". It gave it such a homey feel. The kitchen was well equipped so eating our own breakfasts and food we brought in was very easy. AND, it was VERY clean. In addition, in this heat wave, the house was very comfortable as the AC worked quite well. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms sparkling clean. The backyard is welcoming with a little deer that we saw a few times back there as we sat an talked to enjoy the evenings. We were able to walk to the shopping and dining on the main street. It was just two blocks up the road. We enjoyed eating at Otto's one evening. We visited William Chris, Augusta Vin, Rhinory and our old favorite, Becker Vinyards. I recommend them all. All in all Texas Rose is a wonderful find and I will definitely stay here again but maybe in the cooler weather so we can use the hot tub. read more

Absolute Charm was a good B&B rental place. My in-laws, my husband, and my 2 kids (ages 13 and 2) stayed in Gray Haus this past weekend. First off, check in was very simple. If only other check ins were this easy! Check out was also very simple. Gray Haus was absolutely gorgeous! In fact, it was huge! The whole house was very clean. It also smelled very good. My 13 year old enjoyed the conservatory where infrared lights were shining onto a deer feeder. Food wise, the house was stocked better than I expected. There was a Keurig with teas and coffee. There were some snacks in a cookie jar, and more snacks in a cupboard. There were also sodas to drink as well as eggs, cereals, milk, apple juice, and a few other things I can't remember. There was a black Prius in the drive that stayed there our entire stay. I don't know if it belonged to the house owner or the groundskeeper. There was also a black truck that would stop by a few times a day. I'm not sure what was going on, but we were never told about this, so we were a little surprised when we first arrived thinking someone was in the house already, ha! No matter. We were never disturbed by anyone else, so this didn't bother us. The Absolute Charm policy page says kids 4 and under stay free, but we were still charged $35 for my 2 year old. However, we never asked Absolute Charm about the charge in all fairness to them. According to Gray Haus' viewing page, we were supposed to have shampoo in the bathrooms. There was only body wash in each bathroom. We brought our own shampoo, so that didn't bother us. Also, be sure to bring your own washcloths because there weren't any when we stayed at Gray Haus. All in all, we enjoyed Gray Haus. The house and the grounds were both absolutely gorgeous! Absolute Charm staff were nice! Be careful with regards their cancellation policy in and around Covid. We had a booking that needed to be cancelled due to Covid and a full shelter in place across the region. They didn't offer a refund but a credit, given their prices have since risen considerably the credit is worth half as much! read more

Booked the queens overlook through absolute charm. 4 stars for location, great pool and hot tub, balcony, and the quaintness of the room. 3 stars for cleanliness. Crumbs on the counter and hair on the back of the sink. There were also a couple light bulbs out that should've been replaced. Overall fine but could put just a little more into the small details. read more

My friend came down with Covid. I tried to cancel 8 days before our trip. I was within the 10 day cancellation policy but was hoping with the pandemic there might be some grace. They were extremely rude telling me that "Fredericksburg is open and this pandemic has been around since March!" I then asked to move my travel date and was told that is against policy. I informed them that my sick friend would then keep the reservation and break up her quarantine at the Rest Haus. They were willing to have a contagious person in their rental and in Fredericksburg possibly spreading the virus instead of letting me change my reservation. #fredricksburgtx #fredricksburg read more

I used this business to book a online reservation weeks before my actual stay, and after we booked a three bedroom home for three individuals they quoted me a set amount with taxes but then came back later and charged me per individual? Why would you advertise a three bedroom home and then charge per individual and we only used two beds or two rooms not even using the third room.? I think this is deceptive marketing and taking advantage of people. There shouldn't be an additional charge for two people sleeping in the same bed, it takes no more room or energy for three versus two. I wouldn't use this place again plus the owner also took advantage misrepresenting the house, it had no internet and only one tv that was located in the bedroom of all places and not the main sitting room. My wife and I have stayed at an Absolute Charm property once before and had a great experience. However, this stay was absolutely terrible. We arrived at our B&B shortly after check in began at 3pm. We were given our keys and made a short drive to our property. Lincoln Street Bed and Breakfast (more on the breakfast later.) Anyway, we came into our room (the Verde Suite) and it was absolutely freezing. The air temp outside was 33 and the thermostat read 55 in the room. We immediately turned the heater on and then cranked up the heat. Nothing happened. We thought it might just take a while so we headed off to dinner. 2 hours later when we returned, still no heat. I found the "emergency contact" number in our packet which immediately went to voicemail when I called. I left a message and got a call back within a half hour. The person who came over was apparently the maid and she brought along her son. They messed with the thermostat for a while and finally it kicked on. Then came the rain. At about 5am, my wife woke me up and said water was dripping from the ceiling. Sure enough, the roof was leaking right on top of her side of the bed. We piled up the towels and couldn't ever go back to sleep. We waited around in our room for 3 hours and then took off to breakfast. As part of our stay we were given a certificate to eat at a local place. Here's the kicker, the value was a whopping $14. That covered one of our meals. We paid for the other. All in all, this was not a good experience. I'll amend this review later and let you all know if Absolute Charm does anything to make this right. read more

I booked a weekend for Honey at the Hive 11 days prior to our stay to celebrate my husband's and my birthdays and our anniversary. It would have been the weekend before Valentine's Day. A couple hours after I booked, my cat became ill and I spent the next 4 days going to vet visits and eventually to the ER for a life threatening condition. On day 8 prior to our stay, with my cat still in the hospital, I contacted them to see if they would consider an exception to the 50% refund 7 days prior and give me a full refund. They said no. I can understand that and asked if we could possibly move our stay to a later date. They show availability 3 weeks later. They said no - all changes have to be more than 14 days in advance. I asked for an exception, to be flexible, and they still said no. I took the partial cancellation just so we wouldn't lose more money after our expensive week. I wasn't about to chance it with my cat still sick and expected to be on meds for several days once he did come home and still go on this trip. It is unfortunate that they were unwilling to show a tiny bit of compassion and work with me so that we could both have a win in this situation. I would much rather have been celebrating as planned than dealing with a sick kitty who is not out of the woods. They have already rebooked the place, so they didn't lose anything. They just showed themselves to be greedy and heartless. read more

I needed to get away for a couple of days to meditate and reflect, and Clara's Cabin from Absolute Charm was the perfect place. It's a quaint little cottage that has everything you need. If you're looking to be around people, it's literally just off Main St in Fredericksburg. But amazingly, you can also feel totally secluded in this cottage - like the nearest civilization is miles away. Completely private and cozy. The bed is maybe the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The hot tub was a bonus. I did venture into town to get a pizza when I arrived in Friday and then made a reservation for one at a steak house on Main Street on Saturday night. Picked up some wine and snacks at HEB just minutes away. I highly recommend this place. For you single folks, this is a great place to empty your head, do some writing, finish a project with zero distraction, or just to get away from the hustle bustle. For couples, whichever of you books this place for a romantic weekend will score some major points. read more

They lied to us. They have horrible customer service. We were told over the phone that in light of the Coronavirus outbreak in Texas, they were following Airbnb and others to allow free cancellation and issue a full refund. However, when we wrote to them officially requesting the refund, they refused and did not acknowledge their previous statement. Even though we had explained that one of the travelers has developed a fever and a brutal cough after returning from NYC, and went to a testing center where she was advised to remain quarantined while awaiting the results of the test. We assumed that it would be in Absolute Charm's interest to keeps travelers who potentially have the Coronavirus away rather than showing up and potentially continue the spread of this pandemic virus. We assumed that they would care about the residence of Fredericksburg's safety over profits. They have refused to answer our phone calls and our queries/concerns during these difficult times. I never write reviews but this is simply unacceptable. I would advise people to utilize rental businesses that actually care about keeping people safe rather than maintaining profits. read more

This was our first trip to Fredericksburg, and it was for our first wedding anniversary. We usually stay in modern, unique hotels...but there really isn't much of that going on in Fredericksburg. (Understandable). So my husband mentioned a B&B, since there's so many there. Honestly, we stayed in one of those style places a few years ago in Grapevine, TX, and heard the moaning from neighboring rooms all night long. Then we had to endure an awkward breakfast the next morning with several couples, some of which clearly hadn't moaned for years, which confused us even more. Lol. So when the husband suggested it, I did a quick search of B&B's in the town, and started reading reviews and looking at amenities. Absolute Charm was such a refreshing site to stumble upon! There was dozens of options, all different styles, complete with pictures and no-nonsense pricing and calendars showing available dates. I was able to quickly find a secluded cabin (Zach's Place) about 10 miles from town, with a private hot tub on the back porch that overlooks a huge plot of land with deer, fox, and all sorts of critters. It looked amazing, and the pricing was very reasonable. So we booked it. Fast forward to the day of the vacation, and we arrived at the office to collect our keys and information packet; I was pretty impressed by their process. A beautiful folder full of breakfast vouchers, maps, information, and instructions. We found the cabin pretty easily, and it was perfectly clean and quaintly set up for us. My only complaint was that the cabin didn't have Wifi, and the cell service with Verizon was a little spotty up there...so I was bummed I couldn't do any early morning writing on my laptop or work. But I guess it was probably a good thing. :-) Highly recommend this place for couples who want to reconnect, but not so much for the city person who was hoping to gain some inspiration to get some writing done! We would totally book this room again. But we might bring food with us next time- that 15 minute drive to town wasn't too convenient in the dark! read more
