I have no idea how this place has so many stars. I thought I would give this place one more shot and it simply reaffirmed my opinion... it's just not good. I make better fettuccine in my own kitchen and trust me...I make really shitty fettuccine. They also served my white wine warm when they own a winery! This is my favorite Italian food establishment by far. The staff and as well as the owners are very nice and personable . The food is always above standard and always fresh and the garlic bread is like slices of heaven. They offer a four cheese lasagna which I absolutely love considering I don't eat barely any meats . This is definitely a quaint and small place to eat and unwind from a hard days work with a nice atmosphere. I will frequent this place. Took my girlfriend here for dinner without a reservation, they accommodated us as quickly as they could! So glad they did because the food and service were amazing. The atmosphere is quaint and homey.. the sangria was good! We ordered the artichoke and spinach lasagna which was ABSURDLY delicious! Will be back for that alone. Abruzzo's was AWFUL from the start. We had a very nice and darling waitress. We don't fault her at all for the terrible food and decor. When we arrived we decided to sit in the back room. There was one other couple in the back room and they happened to be the owners-while he and his wife ate he recommended a wine-HORRIBLE. We settled on a red wine from Grapevine-not good. They don't serve beer or cocktails here either. The owner said they have been in biz there for 10 years-not sure how they've kept the doors open...... The tables have NOTHING on them-no salt/pepper, no candle, no tablecloth-NOTHING. The house salad was ok-the caesar was swimming in dressing, basket of bread was dry and gross. We wanted to leave and should have-we felt sorry for our waitress. We ordered spaghetti and ravioli--after about 45 minutes our waitress let us know that the printer wasn't working to send our order to the chef!!! Another couple came in and waited for about 30 minutes to be waited on. I told them they should leave. Our food came out and it was horrible. It was so hot like it had been microwaved and the meatball was hard as rock. It was then that we told our waitress we needed to leave-no, we do not want to take our full plates of food home!!!! We did receive a discount but we will NEVER go back. We left and went to dinner elsewhere. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE-I just hope the waitress leaves this place and goes somewhere where she can shine and make some great tip money. The owner and his wife were nice but really if he cannot see how terrible his food and ambiance are he should not be in the restaurant biz..... read more

The food is delicious! We had pizza bread, it was ok. We had mozzarella planks, DELICIOUS. Three of us had salads each with a different dressing, all fabulous. (We did not have the Caesar) I had the bolognese lasagna and added Alfredo sauce, PHENOMENAL! My party also had the spaghetti bolognese with cut up Italian sausage, perfect! And we also had the seafood lasagna. It was good but not as fabulous as our other entrees. The complimentary bread was tasty as was the raspberry wine and a white wine that I can't remember the name of :( . The service was great, very attentive but not overbearing. I would definitely go back and would love to visit when there is live music. read more

Abruzzo's was amazing. My wife and I live in the area and we couldn't believe we haven't been here sooner! First off, the ambiance is really cool, there are just a few tables (8-10?) and the windows over look the intersection at Davis and Tyler. There is a whole wall stacked with bottles of wine and wine glasses hang from the ceiling. There is endless garlic bread that they keep shoveling to the table which if you are human, you love garlic bread. We got the mozzarella planks and they were giant and perfectly fried. Every pasta dish also comes with a salad. Their maple bacon dressing was fire. We then proceeded to get tortellini and chicken parm. Both were good size portions and tasted great. The whole time I was sipping on merlot at a low cost of $8/glass. (Bottles are only $24?!?!). We wrapped it up with the tiramisu for dessert and almost fainted because how killer it was. It was a big piece and tasted unreal. Overall, Abruzzo's crushed it and we will be back!! read more

I wanted to love this place, it's less than a mile from my house. I ordered chicken parm and fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken for my husband. The spaghetti was so over cooked, the chicken tasted exactly like breaded chicken from Costco. The bread was caked in oil, like a three napkin dab... the salad, albeit small, had the best vinaigrette. I'm so disappointed. read more

We tried this for the first time last Saturday night. Very small dining area that could be cozy but it was 20 degrees outside and one door that opens into the dining area so there was no way to keep it warm in there. So we decided to get it to go. We had the salads which were very fresh and had carrot and cucumber which were crunch and delicious. The four cheese lasagna was very good. Bread was nice. I was expecting a garlic roll for some reason but it's sliced garlic bread and they gave us two baskets while we waited for our to go order. Very good Italian fare for a mile from home. This space has amazingly good bones! As a design enthusiast it would take very little to make the appearance stellar!! Will definitely go back! read more

This place was hands down amazing! It's a little hole in the wall place that if you're not paying attention while driving, you will miss it! The food was excellent, the complimentary sangria was yummy, and the sweet man that sang Italian songs all night was awesome! We shared the seafood lasagna and the bolognese lasagna and both were excellent! It's a cute little place for a sweet date night, and I loved the fact that it was quiet and entertaining. We dropped in on election night for a casual early meal. We live in the neighborhood and had wanted to try the place. Wow. Great ambience. Incredible food. Attentive service. So good we came back two nights later. And we will be back next week. It's standard Italian fare. Just the best you ever had of it. And very inexpensive. Entrees come with the best GarlicBread you ever had and a super fresh side salad. I hesitated to tell the world about this place because I see a waiting list in its future (I counted 22 seats inside) but this charming family restaurant deserves the business. This place has something off about it. Owner came over and gave us comment cards right as we got our food and the comment cards had already been filled out by other patrons. Then he asked to take a picture of the baby for the wall as we are trying to eat. Complementary wine came out cold and after the meal. Food was ok, but nothing great. In the past, I have been"wowed" by Abruzzo's. I remember the menu only had two items, a lasagna and another pasta dish, and they were both very fresh. My last experience was not so great. First, I asked the waitress if this was still a winery and when she said yes, I said "Great! We really wanted to order a bottle of one of your wines." She recommended a Cabernet Franc, which was pretty good. The salads were also very fresh with lovely dressings. But when the seafood lasagna came out, it was ice cold. We just focused on my eggplant Parmesan and pushed it off to the side. Halfway through the meal, we realized we couldn't find anything on the label of the wine to indicate the local location of the winery, so I asked her about it. She said, "Oh, that's not one of our own wines. I just thought you would like it." (!!!) When we told her the lasagna was served cold, she just brought us a box. I didn't ask for a new bottle of the wine we'd asked for, or dinner replacement, or to take the $22 dinner off of our tab for being inedible because my husband gets embarrassed easily. We did enjoy the Tiramisu, but we are not experts at how it is supposed to taste. Mainly, we were disappointed that we paid for a bunch of things that we didn't want or couldn't eat. read more

This place is amazing!! Food is so tasty and their wine is soo good . We tried their house made peach and green apple, both are good but we went with the peach!! The owner will let you taste different wines until you find the one perfect for you! Very quaint and feels like you are at your Italian neighbors house for dinner. On Saturday nights they have this very talented man playing the keyboard, saxophone, singing, etc. It was our first time here and WE LOVED IT!! read more
