Plus the surrounding land of our new home had mature Italian evergreens, a messy young, Liquid Amber tree and youthful willow. Chip Sandborn, not only gained our trust on the first free visit, but he volunteered details about neighbors' trees, which leaned over our fence and backyard. We hired Sandborn Tree Service after we obtained our city tree removal permits. The big job was to take down one hazardous eucalyptus tree, which hung over the sidewalk and a street parking space. The day Sandborn brought his crew to our place, it was storming intensely. High winds and wild spats of rain pelted us. I had no idea how massive and heavy the limbs of that Blue Gum Eucalyputus tree were, but Sandborn crew not only took it down safely, they cleaned up 100% of the mess. The removal of that tree shook our home like small earthquakes. I'm still grateful that we choose Sandborn Tree Service, especially given the terrible weather and size of the danger. We highly recommend this company. Deborah T

He said no, they would take care of it since the debris of the trees being trimmed had to be removed, and I need not worry. I PAID for the removal of the debris. I even had them put it in the contract & emailed him directly ensuring it was ok. He wrote back stating everything would be taken care of. The day of the work when they arrived they had a picnic lunch in front of my house for about an hour. When they were wrapping it up I went out to inspect and they had not trimmed to the fence line, especially at very top of trees. I asked them to continue until everything was back to the fence line. They weren't happy but knew I was right so they did it. When they were about to leave the second time, I inspected. They hadn't cleaned up all the debris in that area, but had pushed it back in a massive pile against the fence. They got Ross on the phone and the worker handed phone to me. Ross was mad, he tried to tell me that wasn't included and that they were giving me free work. First of all I triple checked with him specifically regarding the cleanup and debris removal and second of all nothing was free. I paid $907.50 for this job to get done. He said he would call me back after he checked the email I had sent him and as I was handing the phone back to the worker and forgetting that the phone was on speaker. I said what an asshole and he heard me and got very very, very mad. He called me back said they would take care of it but that I should be grateful because he gave me stuff for free and that they would never ever ever want to do business with me again that's fine. I would never do business with them again as they did not stick to the agreement and tried to tell me I was getting things for Free and trying. To get away with doing a substandard job. The trees were over 25 feet tall, and I just wanted them trimmed back a bit so they didn't hit the neighbor's roof. The results (see photo) show how well they listened. Joe came out to give a quote but never wrote down what I asked for (there were some 5 specific things) and took no pictures--so not surprised he forgot a major piece of the job and had to come back. His workers were careless and caused some damage to my property; to be fair, he paid for that to be fixed, but it could have been avoided. So at the end of the day--I guess this company is aptly named--and you get what you pay for. Sad that those trees won't come back for years, if ever.
