It was a regular check up as we have 2 visits per year included in our insurance and this office is in-network. We were attracted to the reviews and distance from home. The office decor is just so kid-conscious. It makes visiting the dentist an absolute delight. To add to that, the entire staff is just genuinely nice, happy, and helpful. It's like being with a bunch of Miss Rachel's - in the best way. Our 3 year old is so lucky because frankly we did not have these cool offices in the 90s! I must say I was…read morea little worried at how they would react to the dentist, but they did an excellent job, and that's because Dr. Hollywood and her staff really put them at ease. My daughter still talks about her "trip" to the Dentist and how she can't wait to go back. She constantly wants to brush her teeth, and things are just right with the world! We went as a family this past Thursday. They took many safety precautions due to COVID19 and I felt very comfortable going into their office. We called when we arrived and they had us wait outside until it was our turn (which was not a long wait at all). We went in and towards the back where there was a room that had two chairs. My husband held my son on his lap and I held my daughter on mine. Dr. Hollywood came to say hi before the kids got their teeth cleaned. The dental hygienist was very patient and talked my daughter through her first cleaning. She counted her teeth, and cleaned them with a chocolate flavored toothpaste (my son had the orange). After the cleaning we had to wait just a little bit to see Dr. Hollywood again. She gave us some tips on brushing and flossing, and told us we can begin to use a very small amount of fluoride toothpaste. The appointment ended with a fluoride cleaning. It was quick and painless. My kids were then giving little "goodie" bags and even received a coin to get a small prize from the front of the office. It was such a pleasant experience and I'm so happy to have found Nutley Pediatric Dentistry. Thank you so much Dr. Hollywood and staff for making my kids first dental appointment so easy. Communication was poor, and my concerns were brushed off without care. To make matters worse, the billing practices were extremely questionable. I was charged fees that were never disclosed upfront, the office failed to do a pre-determination even though one was requested and the amount charged and collected was NOT what was listed on EOB from dental carrier so a refund had to be requested. It felt deceptive and untrustworthy, especially for a pediatric office where transparency should be a priority. Overall, I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for respectful, honest, and professional care for their children. There are far better options available where families are treated with courtesy and integrity.
