Going to the dentist is traumatic for me every single time, even with the gentlest of handling. Since moving to Montclair, figured I'd try somewhere in the neighborhood vs trekking back to Manhattan. I had a GREAT experience here. The staff is kind, the office is clean & quaint & Dr Gezgin's demeanor & bedside manner is warm, comforting & personable. Unfortunately, this practice has gone downhill. Latest round of (continual turnover) staff members would not perform a cleaning without x-ray up charge. A hard sell on x-rays is offensive. Avoid! read more

My mother-in-law who is the sweetest elderly lady and who has never had any dental problems before told me about this new dentist she found in her neighborhood, Dr. Babushkin. What a CROOK. She was only ONE month overdue for her regular cleaning?! (she always went for her regular cleanings before moving to NJ) ..... then when they were measuring her gums, they poked her "really hard" and they made a huge deal about her gum measurements being "really bad and inflamed" and how she needed a deep cleaning ASAP. They not only used up all her insurance money on this "deep cleaning" but then they also did not send a pre-estimate to her insurance company so then she STILL ended up paying $400 more out of pocket?? What kind of customer service is that?? AND then there was zero mention of scheduling her to come back to check her gum status 4-6 weeks later to see if this "deep cleaning" even worked. This office only wants to keep charging for procedures and does not care about fixing the source -- Well of course they can't fix the source - she never had gum issues to begin with!! The Bottom Line: Be prepared to be pressured to do procedures that are UNNECESSARY and be prepared to pay WAY more than what you think even your insurance would cover. Ridiculous! read more

I saw Dr. Fischer for a broken filling/tooth. I had never been to this place but when I called, the receptionist was so polite and accommodating - she gave me an appointment right away. When I got there, I told Dr. Fischer that cost was an important factor for me and I should probably just pull the tooth. He explained that he would be able to fix it by removing most of the old filling and using a temporary filling that may last long enough for me to come back in a few months when I would be able to get an entirely new (permanent) filling, or root canal if needed. He was able to save the tooth! On top of that, he and the hygentist were so calming and reassuring, it was actually the first time I ever had a tooth drilled without using nitrous - just novocain. Overall, they did a great job explaining my options as well as the pros and cons and even the prices. This is definitely a great place! read more

Such a great place. Doctor Fisher and Crystal were so helpful when I needed bonding done on my tooth. They replaced my bonding so well and the color of the fake tooth to my reall tooth is an exact match. The tooth looks so much more realistic and they really did a beautiful job. They also fixed a broken retainer for me. I also got an excellent cleaning a couple weeks back. Overall Dr. Fisher is excellent at what he does and is very nice, personable and accommodating. So is the rest of the staff. Office is super clean and great. I'll definitely be coming back for any additional needs. Highly recommend! read more

So I was very nervous going to the dentist. I haven't been to a dentist in a long time partially due to my fear but I put on my big boy linen pants and headed to my dentist appointment. Staff is insanely sweet and made me feel at ease almost immediately. That is until I walked through the door, where my nerves started again. Jenny is amazing and she kept me calm and reassured me everything would be okay. And it was! She explained everything she was doing and made conversation to keep me calm. Though I could also answer with uhhl huh and a thumbs up it was still nice to have someone as nice and super professional as her. Then the doctor came in after I was nice and polished and explained next steps and what was going to happen. Very nice and calming voice. He's like the Peter Pan of Dentistry. I'm officially a fan and regular. Healthy gums and teeth...you betcha that's going to be my pearly whites. Highly recommend this great group. - those are my future super clean teeth. read more

I had an old school dentist. He was very conservative...meaning he seemed to wait for problems to fully manifest then fix. Because of this I lost 5 back molars. I was afraid of the process of dealing with the totally compromised teeth. Long story short...Dr Fischer is amazing. After Dr Vitale(also awesome) pulled the six teeth I began the process of taking care of what was still viable. Perhaps, it is Dr Fischer's technique with the novacaine but I have yet to feel any pain. Today he fixed my two front teeth. Originally diagnosed as root canals but once he cleared away the decay he realized and suggested not doing the root canals. Clearly an opportunity to make more money was possible. Dr Fischer also gave me an high quality electric toothbrush gratis. I am tempted to use the word artist as regards Dr Fischer. Finally, not cheap but I feel well worth the expense... read more

I went to this practice for a new mouthguard. The one made by the prior dentist, Dr.Hellinger, who had retired, got loose quickly. I had a terrible experience after I asked Dr. Babushkin to make me a new mouthguard. I did not ask or expect him to give me any price break. I threw away my old one when I was told it was too loose to be safe. I remember for sure because I was nervous to be without one but knew I had to trash or I'd be tempted to continue using, The new one by Dr Babushkin got loose quickly too. Not only were they unapologetic but I was accused of trying to pass off the old one by Dr Hellinger. The office person was hostile and rude. read more

I should have read the good reviews a little more thoroughly before scheduling my appointment and refused to be treated by anyone but Dr. Babuskin. Please head this warning, the female dentist here, didn't catch her name, is the rudest and most condescending woman I have ever met. I specifically scheduled a appointment to fix a broken temporary crown that I have. There was some misunderstanding at the front desk and they apparently only had me scheduled for a cleaning. The entire appointment consisted of her making (wrong) assumptions about my teeth, including the fact that I have a gap between my two teeth being a problem because of a piercing(?). No lady, I've had that since I've had adult teeth and after 7 years of braces not fixing it, I decided it wasn't a big deal since my previous orthodontist said it was purely cosmetic and that the only way to fix it would be an unnecessary surgery. But according to this dentist, all of my teeth are basically on the verge of falling out and she didn't hesitate to tell me this throughout my entire cleaning. After all of this, she said she I needed to make another appointment to fix the issue that I actually came in for because I wasn't scheduled for it and if I wanted to do it today, I'd have to wait for her to finish up with her other patients. Um, this is why I came here in the first place? I shouldn't have to wait all day because they made the mistake of scheduling me wrong. There are far too many dentists in this town to go back to this office. read more

This is probably the worst dentist's office, not because of the doctor but because of the reception and staff. They will find a way to charge you up the you know what even if you didn't make an appointment with them and claimed they sent a Text message to confirm, which usually a phone call is in order for that kind of thing, especially if there is a seventy five dollar fee for not showing up because you had no idea. The receptionists do not listen or try to work something out for their ridiculous policy, they are nasty and hang up the phone on you if you try to talk about the fee with them... read more

My children and I both really liked the office. From when we walked in and were warmly greeted, to an EXCEPTIONAL and gentle cleaning and a friendly, kind and knowledgeable Doctor, we felt at ease the entire time.
