Imagine driving a distance and possible running into traffic and not even given the courtesy of a phone call not to bother to come in. The assistant's nonchalant attitude didn't help the matter nor did she feel there is any accountability to be held on their end saying "well you confirmed the appointment for 12:30." I've never seen a professional doctor not give a grace period prior to canceling the appointment. Completely unprofessional. Definitely taking my business elsewhere.

We had absolutely no reason to doubt his credentials, primarily as an extension of our trust in Dr. Dornfeld. Although Dr. Silverstein is an extraordinarily nice gentleman, we found his dental expertise questionable; this became most apparent when we needed more than just cleanings and fillings. He was totally out of his comfort zone (and consequently, mine) with my root canal. After two excruciating visits, I made him refer me to a local specialist, Dr. Samani, who finished the procedure effortlessly. A year later, my husband was getting a veneer on his front tooth, and developed an mild irritation/redness at the gumline when it was put on. He went for several cleanings/examinations afterwards (we go every 4-6 mos), and no one made a fuss that the irritation was not healing. After abt a year and a half, that same front tooth actually started to feel a bit loose. At which point, Dr. Silverstein calmly states; "There's nothing we can do to save this tooth". Followed by, "I'd be happy to do the implant for you". No thanks! That $3500 mishap convinced us that a dentist who is highly competent is far more important than one that's just a really nice guy. I guess we're like most people; we have this general inertia, and until something gets much worse, we'll just stay with what we have. But this was really a lesson to us. I hope this helps anyone else who's ever in a position like this. Trust and act on your instincts.
