So I called my private contractor to prepare the area so a flex pipe could be threaded in the place of the metal pipe without cutting anything. Then, never heard back after multiple calls, texts and communications through AHS and nothing from the pro. AHS has no control over who they hire and buy time with lame excuses. Then, my dispatch# was cancelled because HVAC claimed I wasn't home nor could they reach me by phone which is a damn lie! This service is bogus in my opinion, they take your monthly payment and sell you their service which is crap! We should be able to choose a local or private contractor in our area for service, not one that's an hour or more from here! I once again share all of your frustrations! I will pursue my $133 service fee back for no service!

They ripped out the wall, redid the entire drain down from the shower, and gave me something that doesn't clog. I asked about other work I needed at the time, but they weren't able to fix the fridge connection for cold water. 2) I sleepturned on my bathroom sink, it flooded the floor and all the way down to... the kitchen. Yup. This time they didn't rip anything out, but they replaced my sink with one that actually gives me hot water! Yay. I didn't even ask about the fridge this time. We heard a loud bang/ crack, and when my fiancé asked what it was, he said everything was fine. I noticed water trickling in our basement storm door later on, but it was also raining on and off that week, so I thought that might be the cause. I observed for a couple of days and it was definitely coming from our kitchen sink because it was soapy water. I called them and the guy was extremely rude, didn't want to admit they damaged anything, and not willing to work on a solution. Poor customer service.

We did have their plumber quote a separate but related steam pipe leak- but I decided to go with my local/regular plumber for that- at 1/2 the price! Roto-Rooter is amazing for messy, emergency projects, but I'll always prefer my local plumber for non-urgent issues.

Instead of helping, the woman on the phone told me they wouldn't be able to assist because I'm a renter and because my building has maintenance/property management. She even incorrectly told me "that's what your lease says," which was not true. My property manager had already told me I could handle the repair and deduct the cost from rent. What frustrates me most is what happened next: I called Dr. Drip Plumbing & Heating, and the VERY FIRST thing they did was calmly explain how to shut off the water to stop the leak immediately. Roto-Rooter never once mentioned this -- despite knowing I had no idea what I was doing and that water was actively leaking. That basic advice could have saved me a lot of stress in the moment. It really felt like Roto-Rooter only cared whether they were getting paid, not whether a stressed customer actually needed help. Meanwhile, Dr. Drip Plumbing & Heating immediately treated me like a human being and helped me solve the immediate problem before anything else.
