Before committing to something that big, we decided to get a second opinion and called Accurate Well and Pump--and I am SO glad we did. Within just a few hours, they assessed everything and came back with a completely different (and much more reasonable) solution. Not only were they able to get our water back up and running for less than a third of what we were originally quoted, but the entire process was quick and stress-free. The estimate was done the same day, and the actual work was completed in just one day. They were incredibly kind, professional, and easy to work with from start to finish. If you're dealing with well issues, do yourself a favor and call them before making any big decisions--you might save yourself a ton of money and stress like we did.

When the softener regenerated in the middle of the night and woke us up (our bedroom is right over the part of the basement the system is located in), Ardi was responsive to our texts and assured us that the noise was normal. He came within a few days and helped us reset the time of regeneration to a better time. He even came back a second time to secure a pipe so the sound wouldn't travel as much. They also matched a competitor's offer and warranty. Overall very happy with the system so far!

    I had Terrible experience with RO installation. They cut costs by sending untrained guys for…read moreinstallation (not licensed plumbers) who don't even know the code. The guy who installed RO at my house was not a licensed plumber. He connected the waste water drain after the P-Trap of kitchen sink drain(pic attached), which is illegal, dangerous and against the code. It can cause sever gases to come in contact with RO filters which is very risky. Luckily I noticed and called them. They apologized, and told they will come over to fix, and they will send a licensed plumber who knows what he's doing. A guy showed up after 3 days, and this time again they sent a service guy (again, no licensed plumber) who left P-Trap under my kitchen sink leaking, and I had to call them a third time. Horrible experience end to end. But, buyers, beware, this is not a trustworthy company. Save your money, call your licensed plumber to install RO.

    Extremely Disappointed Long-Time Customer…read more I've been a loyal customer of Passaic Bergen Water Softening Company since 2021 (over five years), always paid on time, and never had any major complaints--until now. Recently we noticed stained clothes coming out of the washing machine. We even replaced the washer, but the problem continued. Everything pointed to our hard water and the existing softening system. I called customer service yesterday, clearly explained the situation, and they set up a technician visit for this morning at a time that worked for us. No mention whatsoever of any service or trip charge. The technician arrived promptly, did the work, and then hit us with a $180 invoice as he was walking out the door. When I politely objected and said we were never told there would be a charge, he said he'd speak to the owner "Joe Murino". That's when things went downhill fast. The owner got on the phone and was immediately rude, insulting, and condescending. He started with "You expect a visit to be free?" then "How much do you want to pay?" and "Who's going to pay my guy if not you?" He never once acknowledged that their team failed to inform us of the cost upfront. Instead, he said if we don't want to pay, he would have the technician undo everything that had just been done. I was shocked and honestly embarrassed for how a long-time customer was being spoken to. I didn't want the technician to suffer because of his boss's behavior, so we paid the full $180 just to end the ugly conversation. This experience was horrible for so many reasons: Complete lack of transparency about pricing Unprofessional and condescending attitude from the owner toward a loyal customer Threatening to undo work instead of simply owning the communication mistake Making a routine service call feel like a scam I will never use this company again and I strongly recommend everyone else look elsewhere. There are plenty of water softening companies that can treat their customers with basic respect and common courtesy. Stay away.

    Our experience with Passaic Bergen Water Softening was a nightmare! We chose them because they said…read morethat they would be able to install a unit into our finished basement and they would hide the pipes. They seemed reputable and reasonably priced. They were also able to install a Reverse osmosis to improve our drinking water. They installed the unit in April 2024 and when they did this the discharge water for the reverse osmosis ran constantly. We not knowing something was wrong let this go on while our water bill tripled. Fast forward to the week of Christmas and the area got its first cold snap. I was awoken to an explosion and running water at 3am. The newly installed water softener had blown its line for expelling water and completely filled my trophy room with salt water. The carpet was soaked with a splashing amount of water. We were left with no option but to call Servepro and have the room gutted to avoid mold and water damage. We also had to file a claim with our home owners insurance. Eventually we were able to get in touch with Passaic Bergen who eventually sent a representative. What did that representative do? They simply reattached the tubing and fixed the broken parts and then turned off their newly installed machine and said welp it's going to have to be installed differently and it will cost to have it moved. They then said they would reach out which they never did. A week then went by and as my daughters were getting ready for school (on the other side of the basement) one of them yelled and said help there's water in the basement. The pump where Bergen Passaic had placed the discharge for the reverse osmosis had popped the breaker and since it was constantly running. This then led to the reverse osmosis overflowing the sink within a matter of minutes. After speaking with the electrician and a plumber the reverse osmosis had been installed improperly and although Passaic Bergen said they checked our water pressure it was too high and had blown out the tank causing the water to run constantly when it should have just dripped intermittently. This second flood cost another $800 out of pocket and another $800 for a plumber to install a check so the water pressure was at a manageable level. We then called again and finally Bergen Passaic responded back out. When they responded out they sent their "best tech" because he had a construction background. This gentleman proceeded to complain the entire time saying that the Staff at the company promise the impossible and that the job cannot be done and that he just wanted to leave to go to his child's football meetings. Passaic Bergen charged us another $400 on top of all this for "parts" and we are now stuck with exposed blue pipes through our beautifully finished basement. So Passaic Bergen equipment cause 2 floods in our basement and tripled our water bill for 9 months and they still had the audacity to charge us more on top of it all. To say I'm upset is an understatement. During the middle of this their general manager told his wife he was sorry and he would come out to rectify the situation. Did this happen? No! Did they accomplish what they promised? No! Did they stand behind their work? Nope! Would I ever recommend them to anyone? Absolutely 100% NO! STAY AWAY FROM PASSAIC BERGEN WATER SOFTENERS AT ALL COSTS!!!

He is lacking analytical and logical skills who would rather keep his two horribly offensive delivery people, not to discipline them and possibly put himself into a much worse legal predicament later. Seemingly, it stems from the fact that he cannot replace them, lacking resources for more skilled staff. Or some other reason. The mechanical condition of the delivery truck should also be evaluated since the traction of wheels should not produce this kind spinning, possibly tires too bald, should be verified with state authorities as well. Everything starting with stuck getting stuck due to failure to just back out, unauthorized attempt to do U-turn, especially if you are lacking the skills to maneuver between the obstacles. What seemed to be no challenge for previous two trucks completing deliveries within the last day or two, personal vehicle and even a sport car, this fellow had an overblown issue. However, being stuck should not have risen to being an assholes or disrespect and insult the customer. It is part of doing business and ought to be treated as temporary issue. Thankfully, with my mechanical assistance and direction they were able to back out finally. What took place before and after should have been enough for the owner to fire these two people immediately. Specifically, the driver's assistant was blaming, belligerent and attempted assault by advancing on the customer. After a verbal push back and standing the ground, he backed off. Upon, the eventual departure the driver arose to yelling , throwing insults, and threatening. I explained to the owner of the Tribeca company that I have video surveillance and audio recording of complete interaction from many angles; I provided him with some copies to begin his inquiry. Even before speaking to these two, he seemed be on the path to justify the behavior of these two-ghetto style, tongue loose home boys by coming with various excusable scenarios and psychological nuances of hard work and travel. He called back a day later implying that he is not taking any disciplinary action nor is able to assure me if these "two idiots would not piss into my water next time". The fact that there was a physical threat, insults, microphone picking up these two calling my wife "cunt" for not stopping them when she opened the gate is not enough to take responsibility. He cancelled my account.

    DO NOT USE CULLIGAN in SPARTA! They only have 1 day a week…read morethey can come to your house. So if you need a service, it's that day or NO day!! They will NOT help you and come a different day. For a 10 minute job, you have to take a full day off!! They refuse to come a different day, even though they are 6-10 miles from my house. Then they asked me, what days are best for you. I gave them the days my wife works from home. Or, any day after 3 pm. The salesman said this will work. What did they do next? Made the appointment for the day untold them NO one would or could be there. For a time NO one could!! I needed the service, so my daughter had to miss a day of school to stay home for them. It took the technician 10 minutes to service the RO system. That's it. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

(Mr. Andy B.) was personable and professional in helping us assess the best filtration system available to us. He painstakingly detailed all the filtration options for us, and was patient and kind with our detailed questions. Andy, (and Culligan), were gracious through the product installation, and their staff has been available if we needed assistance with the product. As for the product itself, labs seem to indicate much of what we wanted filtered has been removed. (We can't say much more on water quality, jury's still out on that). However, Andy B. (and Culligan) helped provide us turnkey financing, and Mr. B. personally tested our water several times, at our request, before and after the system installation, to our satisfaction. Recent labs seem to indicate the filter's holding up after a year, which is a good thing. No other company offered such a product, while still providing filtration commensurate with the required standards. Mr. Andy B (and Culligan's) product technicians were prompt, respectful and thorough in their analysis of our water filtration concerns. You may pay more (in some cases). If you pay much less, you will likely not receive the accountable, respectful, professional service we received via Culligan and Mr. B. at their Sparta offices. We thank them.
