I wanted to be blond again after several botched attempts which left me brassy and golden. Courtney lifted my hair to a cool blonde with ash tones (my natural color), and gave me a tight weave that made my natural color blend in perfectly! Love how convenient their website makes it for you to book. Long story short, my hairstylist just moved to Tennessee. I was devastated to have to try someone new. I've been seeing my stylist for years and we've become such close friends Anyways, I've been procrastinating finding a new salon because it's so scary to try to find a new stylist and make that connection . I'm also looking for someone that works later timeframe so I don't have to take time off for work to get my hair done or give up time about my days off that I could be spending with my family. I booked online through their website and I was placed with an appointment with April. The entire appointment was amazing. None of the conversation or connection with April ever felt forced. She's such a sweet woman. She walked me through the entire process of what she was going to be doing after I showed her my inspiration photos. When I was all done at the salon, she let me know that if it wasn't what I was looking for to let her know, and if I didn't contact her, she would follow up with me in a couple of days. After a couple of days, I did want to have a little bit more blonded my hair upfront, so I wrote April on a weekend on a day she wasn't even working and she wrote me back right away. She scheduled me for that following Monday, which was just 2 days later. I let her know that if I came in I would have to bring my 17 month old baby and my 10-year-old son and she said that would be totally fine. I can't express how much I appreciate her carving out the time in her schedule to just make sure that my hair was exactly what I wanted. I can't recommend her enough if you're looking for a new stylist or looking for someone that you don't have to force a conversation with and you truly just enjoy your time there I highly suggest that you book her. I had a great experience here! Alicia was recommended to me by a friend, and she did an amazing job. The salon itself is really nice. It's big and really peaceful. They wash the hair in a room in the back which has a relaxing spa like feel to it, meaning it has low lighting, music and other features adding to the ambiance. It also smells amazing! The salon offers lots of treatments beyond just hair care, and the location is convenient with ample parking. I had a fantastic experience at Above & Beyond Beauty! I booked an appointment to get my color ramped up, and I was given an appointment with Lindsa. She sat me down before our appointment began and we talked about what I wanted to do with my hair. I already had some subtle ombre, and I wanted to ramp it up a bit. My old hair stylist basically flat out told me no, but Lindsa definitely thought it could be done. The appointment took a while, but it's mostly because my hair wasn't lifting its color very easily. It wasn't really a problem for me though. The salon is gorgeous and it was pleasant to be in, and I was offered refreshments several times. Lindsa paid great attention to detail during my haircut, and the final result was really spectacular. I don't think i've had this good of a hair cut in years! She gave me really nice face-framing layers and cut my hair in such a way that the ombre is easily visible. I'm so happy with my hair! Made an appointment 2 weeks ago to cut and highlight my hair w Alicia. Showed up 5 minutes early. The receptionist said she would be with me shortly. I could see she was in the middle of coloring her clients hair and figured she'd come out soon to let me know the wait. Nope. Browsed store next store (very cute) and walked over to Starbucks to get a coffee. After 35 minutes I asked again how long it would be. They let me know she was almost done with putting foils on her client and she could squeeze me in while her clients foils were done... I left after 40 minutes. Maybe some people are ok with a rushed 20ish minute haircut but I was not. I was cutting a lot of hair off a lot of hair off after a year of no haircuts and we all know I was gonna be the one waiting again while she styled her clients hair. Why over book yourself or not be considerate to your clients and give them a heads up you're running late? Beautiful salon. Completely inconsiderate and rude service. I got a text after I left asking me if I wanted to come in the following day( Sunday). After making arrangements for my kids and working my plans around my haircut, I think it was a moot point. I have fine, thin hair and Alicia is the master. So many stylists think they should have a pile of hair on the floor after a haircut. With my hair, the pile should look like a few shavings. Alicia knows it's about the hair you leave with, not what is on the floor after. And my hair always looks the best it can be after my visit. She's also very good at talking me out of some of my impulsive ideas. Not everyone needs that, but I do. :) A few years ago I moved about an hour away and tried someone else. You already know what I'm going to say.... Disaster! Even after all my descriptions of my type of hair and how to handle it, I had 80's style bangs that went too far on the sides. I think the stylist had this muscle memory of how much hair should be pulled for normal bangs and she had to pull a lot more with my hair to get to her norm. Immediately I regretted the error of my ways!! I now drive the hour up to Temecula from Coronado to have it done right. I know! It may sound extreme but it's worth it.
