My service was fairly straightforward: an all-over brown color with a red/copper undertone and a trim. I specifically explained that I wanted a copper undertone rather than a purple-toned red. There were no highlights or foils. After the first color application and wash, Ashley apparently noticed an issue before I had even seen my hair and began correcting it. Once she dried a section, I was finally able to see the color myself, and my roots were noticeably bright/glowing red. She mentioned that the salon lighting was making it appear worse and took me outside to look at it. For context, my appointment started on time at 2:30 PM, and it was after 5:30 PM before I was able to see the color for the first time. At that point, I had already been there for three hours for an all-over color and trim and needed to get home to my kids. Ashley offered to continue color correcting it, but because of the time, we agreed she would adjust the roots and I would leave with wet hair. I went back to the bowl for another application, my hair was washed and towel dried, and I paid and left. Once I got home and dried my hair, my roots were still very bright red. The photos attached to this review were taken after I got home. What made the experience especially frustrating was the $400 total: $275 for the all-over color and $125 for the trim. I messaged Ashley afterward to explain that I was unhappy with the result and asked whether any of the additional attempts to correct the color had been included in what I was charged. She explained the pricing and offered for me to return so she could attempt another color correction free of charge. I was also told there would be no full or partial refund. At that point, I declined. After spending $275 specifically on an all-over color, sitting in the salon for more than three hours, and already having multiple attempts made to correct it, I prefer to return to the stylist that I know will get it right and save myself the time and further disappointment. I understand that hair color doesn't always turn out perfectly on the first application. I've had that happen at my usual salon. The difference, for me, is how it's handled afterward. In those instances, the issue was corrected quickly and successfully. I don't expect perfection every time, but at this price point, I do expect the finished result to reasonably resemble what was discussed--or for there to be a meaningful resolution when it doesn't. A few additional observations about the salon itself: it was extremely loud, to the point that having a conversation with my stylist was difficult. While I was there, another stylist had food delivered and appeared visibly irritated with the delivery driver because utensils weren't included, walking away shaking her head. I found that interaction uncomfortable and unprofessional to witness. My back also became soaked while I was at the shampoo bowl, and Ashley mentioned that this happens frequently because of the chairs they have. I do want to give credit where it's due: the salon was kept clean, and I repeatedly saw stylists cleaning not only their own stations but helping clean one another's as well. There seemed to be good teamwork in that regard. Unfortunately, cleanliness doesn't outweigh leaving after more than three hours, paying $400 for an all-over color and trim, and still having to go elsewhere to have the color corrected. I won't be returning and will be going back to my stylist at another salon. Lesson learned.

I don't have access to social media, so I ended up finding Brooke through Yelp and I am SO happy I did! I reached out to her by text and she responded almost immediately. I made an appointment via text with Stephanie, the owner of Hair Plus. It's so convenient having to just travel to Murrieta to a strip mall where the parking is plentiful and stress-free. I met Stephanie a few weeks ago for my first haircut with her. Becasue I was so use to my previous hair stylist knowing how to cut my hair, I've forgotten to remember the clipper numbers she used etc. I knew I was in good hands with Stephanie when she told me she knew what type of style it was and how short. She also asked for my input when she was cutting my hair as far as the shortness on the sides. In all honesty, she really did a better job than my previous hairstylist of eight years! Her many years of being a hair stylist in South Korea and in Orange County shows in her meticulous cutting and shaping of my haircut. I was very pleased with the results as was my wife. I am so happy that Stephanie can continue to cut my hair, and hopefully soon, our youngest son as well.

*update I cannot…read morestress the fact that I REFUSE to go anywhere else now. I was the person that impulsively walked into chain hair salons and just sucked it up because I never found a hair stylist I wanted to stick with. There hasn't been a moment where I walk past a mirror and DON'T get giddy. I highly recommend her to everyone!

I had never been to this salon before. I had a horrible experience at another Murrieta salon the week before and I wanted my hair fixed and done the correct way. After seeing all the yelp reviews from this place, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately my husband was stuck in traffic on his way home so I had to bring my 3 kids with me (7yrs, 4yrs, & 7mo). I was so embarrassed because I have never had to bring kids along to a salon appt before. But when I showed up they were very nice about it and accommodating. I had my appointment with Cara Brady. She was very sweet. We discussed everything that went wrong with my hair from the previous salon. She agreed it needed help. After really paying attention to what I hated about it, she mixed up my color and we began. My baby was able to sit on my lap and my older kids were about to sit on the chairs behind me. She was very easy to talk to and made the appointment very nice. Nothing is worse than sitting there in dead silence for 2 hours. When she washed out the dye, she gave a great scalp massage. It was very relaxing. When she blew out my hair and I could see the color- I WAS SO HAPPY! She did a great job. My blonde was back! I am so happy I finally found a salon & stylist I can stick with. This Salon is beautifully decorated and they have a very cute boutique out front. I am looking forward to my future appointments. read more

There seem to be two kinds of people who use Yelp, wild fans and rabid unhappy customers. If you read reviews and click through to a reviewers profile, it's pretty apparent what side of the spectrum they fall on. I almost didn't even write my last review because I'm more on the wild fans side of the spectrum, but it's impossible for a business to improve if there isn't feedback given in a negative situation. I was pleased to accept a phone call from an unfamiliar number this afternoon. The owner of the salon called, mentioned she had seen my review, and was super professional in addressing the situation. In my initial review, I mentioned 5 stars for the salon, and docking stars for the experience I had there. I'm updating this review to give Ricadonna Salon 5 stars. It's not easy leaving a stylist. It's a pain in the ass to try to find a new salon. I've since had my hair done at another salon, but per the suggestion of the owner, I am open to giving another stylist a shot. Thank you, Kelly, for taking the time to address my initial review and for being 100% professional with this situation. I won't hesitate to recommend Ricadonna in the future. read more

Ricadonna and Lori Hastings - great combo. I was so pleased to find Lori a few years ago after moving to Murrieta. Who else can give you a great cut that looks fabulous when you leave the salon - and pretty damn good (with maybe a little blowing) after a whole day under a riding helmet? Color that shines over both the dark roots on top and that gray stuff (really?) on the sides. A great shampoo/massage. Some counseling about "products" to fix those nasty dry ends in the summer. And she's funny. Best of all, since Lori's moved to Ricadonna, it all happens in a beautiful salon where everyone there seems to be having fun. Nice little boutique on the way out, too. Oh - and the best magazine collection I've ever, ever run across in a salon - by far. Vanity Fair and Vogue - yes!!! My only complaint about the salon is the lighting, which is set directly overhead and casts some very ugly shadows on that otherwise perfect face in the mirror. Just bring your own studio lighting and you'll feel great about yourself when you leave. read more

Here I am, sitting at Ricadonna Salon while my color bakes and thought I should let all of you out there looking for a GREAT hairstylist that Sarah Spradley is the best kept secret in Murrieta. I've been coming to see Sarah for 8 years now and have been the happiest with my results each time. I'm a natural redhead that has gone gray. My hair is super thick and coarse and Sarah handles it with professionalism and true caring. She is flexible with my schedule, stays late for me, has given me the most adorable A line which has evolved over the years. She keeps me updated and fresh. I get compliments daily on my cut and color and I always give Sarah the credit! She is the BEST stylist ever and I hope she never moves or retires because I just don't know what I would do! I have been looking for a stylist since I moved here 6 months ago and am terrified of letting new people touch my hair. But my hair was getting unruly and what are you gonna do? I saw some other reviews of Ricadonna on Yelp so decided to give it a try. When I arrived yesterday, my stylist (Rian), immediately put me at ease. She listened to what I wanted and my concerns and talked through what I wanted with me so I knew that she knew exactly what I wanted. And when she was done, my hair was AMAZING! I have been getting compliments all day long and I just love the cut and the color. In addition to the great style, everyone there was so friendly. They had fun together and it made the time spend sitting in the chair go by fast. You can tell that they all genuinely like working there together. A five star experience. Last weekend I came to murrieta from vegas to get my haircut @ Ricadonna salon by Ericka Julian! I was so impressed by how lovely it was inside and they have this cool lil boutique in the front with so many cute things...from purses to jewelry! When I walked in to the salon I was feeling frumpy and just not like myself, but when I walked out of there I fellt spunky and rejeuvinated! Ericka cut my hair exactly how I wanted it....not to mention she gives one heck of a shampoo, with a lil scalp massage threwn in there! I absolutely love my new look and I can't say thank you enough to Ricadonna salon for having such a beautiful salon with great stylist such as Ericka Julian and a very friendly staff! Hands down the best salon in town!! I have literally been to a few different salons through out Murrieta and Temecula this one takes the win by a mile. My stylist was Tina F. who was amazing she helped me with my color (which was a mess) and helped direct me to the correct product I should be using. Its funny all these years and I have never really learned the difference in product until now. She recommended the Hydrate shampoo and all along I have been using a heavy moisture which was weighing my hair down. My hair is feeling amazing and looking amazing all thanks to Tina. I look forward to my next appointment and cant wait to see what new items there boutique has. I cant say this enough If you are looking for a salon this is the one! I love getting my hair done at Ricadonna Salon, the feel of the salon is very relaxing. Jen Osburn is an amazing hair stylist. she has been doing my hair for 6 years and I have never been able to find a stylist to compare to her. She listens to what you want done to your hair and always keeps your hairs health in mind. I have referred many friends and family members to see Jen Osburn and every single one of them calls me and thanks me for sending them to Jen. Over summer Jen did a Brizillian Blowout on my hair IT WAS AMAZING!!! Worth every penny, my hair was so smooth, shiny and frizz free for 12 weeks. It cut my style time in half. Picky, flighty and more...Those adjectives describe how I am about my hair. Years ago when I found Ericka Julian, I thought I had found a miracle worker. She has worked with me every step of the way, changing colors, cuts and whatever whim hits me at the time. When I have ask for something that she believes is not in my best interest she describes why. On the rare occassion when we do it anyway, I come back in to tell her she (of course) was right. We have a good laugh and then move on to letting her do what she does best. I have to admit I'm a little nutty when it comes to my hair. I'm always wanting to change it up. Sometimes I want to grow it out, then I want it short. I want blond, then I want dark. But every time I make a change I feel anxious about it. Well, I started going to this salon and Lori Hastings about two years ago. Every time she does my hair it is top notch. It is obvious she has a lot of experience doing hair. My anxiety is gone because she does such a fantastic job every time. I went to Ricadonna the first time earlier this summer & LOVED IT!!! My stylist is Rian and let me tell you, she is AMAZING with hair. She has cut and colored my hair, and she did a Brazilian Blowout as well, which i LOVE! She is very friendly and makes it so easy to spend time in her chair! She is amazing I have had my hair done by her for years. She is extremely knowledgable and always continuing her education so she is always current on all of the trends. Ricadonna is a very cute salon. The boutique in front sells all the hair products you need plus lots of other cute stuff. For my stylist I go to Ashley Collins, she is wonderful!! I am not really that stylish but she gave me an adorable short cut. I like my hair short and she suggested a style that fit me perfectly that I would not have had the guts to try on my own. Last week was my first time to the salon. My stylist Tina moved from a salon in Temecula to Ricadonna. I was sad when I heard about her moving but once I saw the salon I understood why! Moved to Murrieta in 2006 and couldnt find a hairdresser I liked. On a whim, called Ricadonna and told the person scheduling me that I had thick hair and a difficult time finding anyone that could cut it to my liking. She booked my appointment with Lori Hastings who was very professional and listened to what I liked and did not like about my hair. She colored and cut my hair and I love it. There are so many reasons Ashley Collins has been my stylist for more than six years.The first time she colored and cut my hair, I thought I left the hands of a miracle worker. My previous hair color was terribly botched and my hair was damaged. She didn't just correct the problems; She transformed my look. I was hoping for a positive experience at Salon MK with Giselle Q, but I left very disappointed…read more The photos clearly speak for themselves but here's what happened-- When I first reached out to Salon MK in June, I was connected with Giselle and specifically requested a light brown, neutral balayage. We booked a balayage ($280) and a haircut ($85). I sent photos of my hair and several reference photos. During the appointment, she explained that balayage is essentially highlights, which made me a bit nervous, as I understand it to be more of a blended, ombré-style look. Still, I trusted her professional judgment. Unfortunately, the final result looked nothing like my reference photos..... The highlights leaned much more yellow and brown rather than the neutral tones I had requested, and they were also uneven, with some highlight sections noticeably thicker than others. The haircut itself was uneven, and the top layers were longer than the bottom section. She offered to fix it, which I appreciated, but by that point I already felt uneasy. I decided to give her a second chance since she was willing to fix the uneven haircut, so I went back in October for an all-over color before an important work event. I was very clear and specific about what I wanted and provided several reference photos beforehand- a dark, natural brown with subtle purple/reddish undertones. I explicitly asked to avoid black, copper, blonde, vivid red or purple tones, and NO highlights. We discussed this thoroughly, and I even said that if there was any hesitation, I'd prefer to play it safe with a darker brown balayage instead. Giselle reassured me she could achieve the color....... Unfortunately, the result was again nothing close to what I requested. My hair turned out coppery brown/red and still showed highlights, which I had specifically asked to avoid. I felt embarrassed going to my event with it. When I reached out the next day with photos, I was told that the custom conditioner I purchased should temporarily fix the issue. This was frustrating, as a conditioner with very minimal pigmentation shouldn't be relied on to correct a $165 color service, especially after I left a 20+% tip out of kindness. Overall, the results did not align at all with what we discussed or the reference photos I provided. My concerns weren't resolved, and I ultimately had to attempt to fix my hair myself before the event. Everyone's experience is different, but I wanted to share mine so others can make the decision that feels right for them and choose a stylist they feel 1000% confident with.

My fourth appointment involved repeated communication issues with my haircut and styling, to the point where I had to go home and restyle my hair myself. For my fifth and most recent appointment, I specifically confirmed beforehand that we were lifting my hair and was told to allocate three hours. There was a misunderstanding regarding my bangs, which I acknowledge, but I questioned during the appointment why the rest of my hair wasn't being lifted. The appointment ultimately lasted approximately two hours and felt incredibly rushed. The results are shown in the attached photos. Near the end, the stylist herself mentioned that some highlights looked orange. The salon lighting is quite dark, so I didn't see the extent until I was in brighter lighting afterward. After previously needing a second appointment for a similar issue, I decided not to return for another correction. Before updating my review, I contacted management. They responded promptly, asked if I wanted a refund, and directed me back to the stylist. For me, it wasn't primarily about a refund--it was about how the situation was handled. I've included the exchange so readers can form their own opinion. After repeated issues, this salon is simply no longer the right fit for me. I genuinely wish my experience had remained as positive as my first two visits. For reference, the first photo is me with hair cut, colored, and styled by my previous stylist in San Diego. Sadly, I moved. It is not AI-generated. The remaining photos document the color after my most recent appointment.

Laurel greeted me with kindness and listened to my concerns. I have very fine/thin naturally dark brown hair and wanted to go fully blonde, so she assessed that partial highlights would be the way to go. She used "babylights" to make it look more natural and avoid a striped look. I don't know if I'm the only person who cares about this, but as a non-chatty person, I finally found a stylist that focuses on her work (she's fast!) and not chat me up/interrogate me the *entire* session. We still had fun casual conversation, but it didn't feel forced. After all was said and done, I had an amazing head of hair for an extremely reasonable price. I live in SF, but I'll be swinging through this salon while visiting my family in Temecula whenever possible. Highly recommend.
