This will be our second review of this company. To our surprise the owner of the big house we leased decided to sell and we were forced to move again. I texted Quinn with a very down sized list to move. This time he gave me a quote by text and we were on. Same amazing service. Even though we only had a mattress and one small sewing table to move from the down stairs they still insisted on padding the stair banisters and spreading out runners. Got the stuff in the truck with four guys and we were ready to roll. At the apartment they even put down runners in the public areas leading to the apartment. His team were super professional and very nice. They got everything set up perfectly and the whole process took 3 hours. Best of all when the team leader called Quinn to get the final bill it was several hundred less than the quote. This guy is an honest man! read more

We were told $190 an hour, but Quinn didn't mention that there was a 3 hour minimum. When the movers got to the house, Filberto gave us that info. He told me to call Quinn and try to negotiate. Quinn was very rude, to say the least. It took 3 guys 15 minutes to load stuff onto the truck, 15 minute ride to a senior living home and about 30 minutes to unload and set up. I had the pleasure of working with Cary, Mason, Filberto and Pedro today when they helped me move items from my POD to my Townhome. I cannot rave enough about how professional, courteous and efficient they were. They showed up to promptly at 9:30 AM. They took extra steps to protect my home and my items. Best Move Ever When my Mom saw an ad for About Time Movers, she had just had a traumatic experience while trying to move. She's an artist and a collector, and well, my Mom has a lot of stuff... The mover had underestimated the time it would take to pack up the apartment and cancelled on her. It would be several years before she tried to move again. When she decided to, she called About Time and had a positive experience from the start on the phone. Quinn came out, gave her an accurate estimate and told her, "don't worry about anything else, we've got you covered." And he was right. Quinn and his excellent team were the most efficient, respectful, kind and speedy movers we have ever had. They completed the interstate move just as quoted and even did the little things like bringing some belongings to her car for her and taking out the trash for me after they completed the move. What a great day - to have everything we could have thought of taken care of with a courteous smile. They even brought some of her donations to the local Goodwill. I can't say enough about how much we both appreciated having movers like these. Quinn and his guys made my move painless. Nobody enjoys moving but if you have to, these guys are the best. They are very professional, clean and careful. They asked multiple times if furniture was where i wanted it and if not, they happily moved it for me. They even gave some great suggestions on some of the furniture placement. Disclaimer: I have not actually moved yet nor hired anyone for my move Not to be too dramatic but if I could fall in love with a company this is the one. Integrity is the word that comes to mind after one short phone conversation with Quinn. I called with a simple question, do they service the Wauwatosa area, and he was honest from the beginning that yes they could but would charge a travel fee. Ok, a travel fee is to be expected and understandable but he went on to say that he could work with me a bit on the fee and that was much appreciated. But what really impressed me was when he suggested two local movers that would be more cost effective only because they are in my area already. When companies/owners put the customers needs above making a buck, that's when you know you've got a good one. The only reason I haven't made a decision as to who to hire yet is because I don't know when exactly I'm moving but if you have the opportunity, please choose this company! read more

I recently moved from Gurnee to Vernon Hills and luckily found About Time Moving Systems via Yelp and my first impression was that "Wait there's only a hand few reviews". Well I actually read all of those positive reviews which made me contact Quinn to get an estimate. To my pleasant surprise he responded promptly and sent me a quote. The price seemed more than fair and Quinn was very approachable. I have never hired movers before so I had a lot of questions and concerns. I messaged and called Quinn multiple times and he took the time to go over everything with me which put me at ease. The 2 guys Michael and Freddy showed up promptly at the designated time. They were respectful, polite, hard working and neat. They even took their shoes off and my white carpet is very thankful for that. My main concern was disassembling moving and reassembling my dining table, king sized bed and dresser without any damage. They did a great job of CAREFULLY moving my furniture and other items(Boxes, TV). Lastly, I would like to point out that Michael and Freddy have a good sense of humor. I highly recommend these guys and am very impressed with how approachable Quinn is. I have had friends and family tell me about issues they have had with other moving companies especially when it comes to communicating. Moving can be stressful. Quinn and his team make it as easy as possible! Quinn is an excellent communicator and when he tells you what time his crew will be at your house to get started - they will be there. About Time movers is careful, respectful, and efficient. They are true professionals! And, customer service is absolutely top notch. I have used About Time Moving twice in the last year, and the second time one of my pictures went missing. Quinn actually came over to help me look in my house, tore his moving van apart (twice!!) and stayed in touch with me even after a week of not finding the picture. I'm not sure why my review fell under "Not Recommended." I'm a real flesh-and-blood person and this was my actual experience. Lack of communication and follow-up to potential customers is still a part of a business's overall service quality. I really wanted to hire this moving company for a local move because of their rave reviews, but it is impossible to get hold of them. They don't return emails or messages left on their website. I received an automated text that they had received my message and would phone me the next business day, but I never heard from them so I was forced to hire a company that wouldn't have been my first choice. This was my first time using professional movers, and after hearing several horror stories from friends about moving issues I was pretty paranoid, especially moving from Milwaukee to Chicago. Quinn did an amazing job answering all my questions as well as explaining the various insurances. We did call you at the last minute, (since the company we hired did not put us on the schedule for some reason,) due to the fact we were in a time crunch so I guess we got what we paid for. We did NOT pack all the boxes. Your guys basically thru stuff in boxes that we had not packed yet. We had 2 huge GO Boxes that had a potpourri of stuff. Nothing was wrapped, our trays from Hawaii were thrown in there and 3 of the 4 were broken I stupidly assumed these guys knew what they were doing. You were not there ,you did not watch them wrap mops and brooms and leave speakers ( which were 4 of the first things put in the front of the truck) unwrapped and unprotected. We DID ask if they needed more blankets, since we were going to get the car hauler put on the truck at 5:45, they said no they we good. Either my husband or I were there the entire time, NEVER did they state they needed more blankets. If they needed more they should have asked. The carelessness of the packing and loading of the trucks was inexcusable, I also bought 5 packages of rope which you and your men asked for. When we looked, 4 of the 5 were still in the bag, unopened. The pictures on your website do not look anything like the loading and packing they did. While we appreciated you and your guy coming out the next morning, ( which if your guys did the job right in the first place, should never have had to happen) what was on the otherside of the area you unloaded was there most of the problems were. You sent me for more blankets which I gladly went and picked up, there were unopened blankets still in the package, when we unloaded in Tennessee. There were family heirlooms that will never be able to be replaced. So for that reason alone, I am upset. We will never agree on this, I felt your guys were upset having to come in on their day off and acted like they were upset about it and took it out on our job. While we can try to file a claim with our homeowners insurance, why should our premiums have to go up, because your guys don't know what they are doing. Our insurance will cover if we have an accident, not if we have untrained loaders. We were actually told not to use you, by a few of your competitors, but we read your reviews and chose your company based on those reviews. We had 3 to choose from we chose wrong. read more

We used About Time twice. The first time was unloading our UHaul truck when we moved to Milwaukee from out of state (in 2018). We had to pay for them to drive from Kenosha (I don't know why Yelp includes them as local to MKE!) but they were worth it. They bring a lot of protective gear for your home to protect the floors and woodwork. They worked hard and it was great. However this time we are much less satisfied. We used them to load a UPack semi-trailer since we were moving across country. Their salesperson Quinn gave us great confidence so we chose them over another more affordable company. They once again protected our home, but did not wrap our belongings in the moving blankets we bought as carefully as other movers we've used in the past - for example they not cover the bottom or feet of the furniture, and we had literally 50 more moving blankets available they could have used. Furthermore, the way they loaded the truck resulted in damage to several pieces of furniture, a box of my mother's China marked fragile, and many plastic items such as bins and trash cans that were crushed or cracked. One example is that the heavy book boxes were stacked to the ceiling, so what was under it was under immense pressure, instead of having the heavy book boxes be a more spread out base with lighter things on top. When we moved across country TO Milwaukee, we did not have any such damage, so we do place the blame on these movers' wrapping and loading. I communicated back with Quinn and since we only had them for labor, we had no insurance coverage on our items through them, and therefore no recourse. I had hoped they might offer a partial refund or something but he did not, and stopped responding. Bottom line, while I still would recommend them for unloading, or maybe a local move - I would NOT for loading up a truck to go across country. read more

I was searching out moving companies in the Milwaukee area for a friend of mine that lives there. The selection is piss poor to say the least, but these guys definitely appear to be a diamond in the rough. Me and the owner talked for awhile and it sounds like he knows his business and he cares about the quality of service and integrity that he's providing for customers in Milwaukee. These guys were definitely on time and professional! We were surprised how quickly they completed the job. Quinn & Marcos (The Incredible Hulk!! man that guy is strong) were extremely nice guys took apart our furniture and reassembled it on site. They gave us the red carpet treatment (lol), they actually rolled out a red carpet to protect our carpet as they moved our furniture in and out. Quinn, the owner, is detailed, pays attention, asks the right questions, and is responsive to calls, texts, and emails. He is also friendly, which goes a long way with me. My move wasn't very complicated, but it involved moving 2 households into one. It was also around a holiday weekend and I had to book last minute. Quinn worked with me on options for pricing, days, etc. We ended up doing the moves on 2 days, each with a 3 person crew. Both crews were excellent. Every single mover was polite, asked questions, got confirmation if they were unsure of direction, and they hustled. OMG did they hustle. But the care they took with our possessions and our homes was really gratifying to watch. It was 90 and humid day 1. The crew still hustled, smiling, laughing and bringing joy to what could have been a miserable day. Day 2 was 80 with thunderstorms. Again, the crew hustled, took care, and brought laughter to the move. They put pads on the walls. They had runners for the carpets. They smiled constantly and were respectful of my elderly mother in law, politely asking her where the furniture should be placed. The only thing that went wrong was that a stairway banister had one of its wall supports knocked out in the basement. That may sound like a larger deal than it is, but it really wasn't. The support was anchored only into paneling, when it happened, the stopped and told me immediately with apologies, and said that they would compensate for the damage. I believe that it was taken off on the bill. Did I mention they hustled??? So much so that the final total was less than the original estimate. I cannot recommend this company enough. I generally don't write a review when I agree with the rating but I feel compelled to share my experience with About Time Moving Systems. This company is professional, efficient, friendly, courteous, timely,... I could go on and on but as you see, I have nothing but praise for this company. A few weeks ago, I needed to move some commercial laundry equipment from one location to another and I wasn't having much luck finding a company that could assist with the move. This wasn't your typical one to two room move with mostly furniture and boxes, so many companies didn't have the equipment and/or manpower to complete the job. On the day of the move, About Time showed up on time and immediately got to work. They quickly got my expensive equipment loaded and packed so that it wouldn't be damaged in transport. They dropped off my items at the new location in the timeframe they estimated, keeping my estimated cost and actual cost inline. If you have any moving needs at all, this is the company to call.
