Two weeks after my service, I received a phone call from Tony's Cleanup. This phone call did not go very well. The phone call was to offer what I feel was a non-apology apology, as well as to try and get me to change my "scathing" review, and I guess to offer a rebuttal to this review even though they can't formally do so on yelp. To me two stars means I will not use this company again nor will I recommend them to anyone else. I originally (before they picked up my items) had them down to a one star but added a star because they did pick up my items without too much fuss (the fuss was because my downstairs door was a bit small but that has no factor on their work). Are they cheaper than the other people? Yes. I don't see that as a bad thing, normally. A better word would have been inexpensive but I was upset at the miscommunication. After all who doesn't want to save a $100 to $200 bucks? Would I have given them five stars if there wasn't a communication problem or the horrible customer service that followed (the lecture phone call)? No, at most I would have given them 3 to 4 stars. I did get what I paid for in this case: aggravation. Poor communication, poor customer service. Don't contact me again Tony's cleanup. There is no way I will ever use your company again. I had a horrible customer service experience and your final phone call was the straw that broke the camel's back. If I wanted to be petty, I would give this a one star review, but I'm not. You get the same number of stars as before. read more

I first met Tony more than 10 years ago, when I interviewed a handful of people to do some work I needed done on my house. I chose Tony to do that work and I've had him back half a dozen times since then. He has been unbelievably helpful to me, going above and beyond more than once. We used their service on a recommendation from another service company to get our crawl space cleaned at a new house during the pandemic. Since we hadn't yet moved there Tony offered to do the job without our presence and send us pictures. Seemed super convenient to have it all done remotely and pay electronically. He said the interior -most part wasn't accessible to a vacuum cleaner so he wouldn't be able to do that but the rest was done. He even said a remaining old door lying on the floor hadn't been removed since there was a hole under it that it was covering. We believed him and paid $450 for the job. Only a month later when we hired someone else to clean up the "small bit" remaining did we realize that actually only half the job was done and a lot of junk had simply been put along the wall so it wouldn't show up in the pictures and the there was no hole under the door, which means it was simply junk that hadn't been cleaned by these guys. Overall it was a very poorly done job and they must have known it because they had stopped answering all our calls ever since they got their money. So if you hire them make sure you double check the job is done in person. I rarely write negative reviews, but this is fraud and it really tipped me to the point of making this known to others. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Tony and his company. They are timely, courteous and priced more than competitively. My job is to find vendors that provide value and Tony does. In addition to providingly timely professional service during Marine Week Boston while we had help from the USMC Tony donated all of his time, trucks and equipment to help us renovate on of our properties for youth at risk. Hidden fees, lack of communication, unclear terms and conditions, and aggressive communication = 1 star. Horrible experience. And now that I am seeing another review below- I am not surprised. We scheduled a dumpster rental to remove some floor boards and dirt from a basement. Scheduling delivery of the dumpster was easy (one star!). I reviewed the terms and conditions that were sent to me, and as a very organized person made sure we followed them correctly. Per the terms and conditions, we contacted ABH 24 hours in advance to pick up our dumpster. We did this on this day specifically before a big storm was coming as we knew that the dry dirt in our dumpster would increase by about 20% weight when wet. I called all throughout the day on Thursday (no answer), emailed and left a message to be sure we were on the schedule. We were prepared to remove some of the material if needed to avoid exceeding our weight capacity. Mind you, there was NOTHING in the terms and conditions about overage fees. ABH never answered the phone on Thursday. I finally received an email saying we were on the schedule. So my understanding was that since we were on the schedule we didn't need to worry about removing debris before the rain. I even called again on Friday and requested that we be called prior to pick-up so I can make sure someone was present, ABH agreed. Never got a call and the dumpster wasn't picked up on Friday, or Saturday, or Sunday. Finally on Monday it was picked up without a call. We were then charged and additional $300 for overage fees. These fees are in **no way outlined in the terms and conditions**. I made a friendly call asking about getting PART of the overage fees reduced since part of the increased weight was due to the rain, which wouldn't have been an issue if ABH would have picked up the dumpster on time. Tony called me back and the rude, condescending lecture started. He said that even though I scheduled a pickup they could come anytime "2 days later, or 2 weeks later". This was in no way communicated to me, nor was it in their terms and conditions. Not to mention there is no mention of overage charges in their terms and conditions. I wasn't asking for a handout, I was asking for a fair adjustment. They didn't pick up the dumpster when they were supposed to which led to increased weight, this additional weight should be on them. They also didn't mentioned overage fees in their terms and conditions which is dishonest. So this is where they really lost major points. They also lose points for the unprofessional and extremely aggressive manner in which Tony communicated, not to mention they didn't answer for the phone for an entire day. I am in no way an over-sensitive person (I teach middle school so I have very thick skin) and the way Tony talked down to me was honestly embarrassing, offensive and completely unprofessional. He could have easily apologized for the lack of clarity around what "scheduling pickup" actually means and been upfront about the hidden fees, and just recognized that his terms and conditions are unclear, but he was completely rude and aggressive, and offered no apology. Hidden fees, lack of communication, unclear terms and conditions, and aggressive communication = 1 star. read more

The owner, Tony, was fantastic to deal with, and both he and his assistant, Bianca, helped resolve an issue I had with the dumpster and my town's rules on registered companies. Tony is a true professional and a genuinely nice guy. My simple garage demo turned into a nightmare, but Tony was patient and kind throughout the whole process. I am remote so we only communicated over the phone or text. Tony was so easy to work with and at the end of the day, his work was impeccable. We have used ABH Services on several occasions! Their prices are extremely reasonable and the guys who work for Tony could not be any nicer. We recently moved and after having used a dumpster for renovations/their demolition service to tear down the existing kitchen/floors - we needed yet another truck load of stuff to be removed from our garage. Tony sent his guys over the next day - they loaded my 2 car garage full of trash/boxes in the truck within minutes and even "broom cleaned" my garage! I loved that added touch! If it saves me one thing to do they are definitely worth the 5 stars! Even the woman who works in the office was such a delight to talk to - I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who needs any disposal or demolition services! I called for the advertised weekend special. 3 stars because no one ever picked up the phone and it took 6 hours and an email to return my call. I had actually called another place in the meantime who did call me back promptly. Tony called right before they did so I decided to give him a shot. Mostly because he's a local business. I like shopping local. Anyway 5 star service! It was dropped off Friday and placed exactly where we asked and picked up Mon morning. We did go over the weight limit but knew that as we filled it. Totally reasonable (and less than I thought) for the overage. We'll be calling again in the fall! read more
