I haven't had my fireplace cleaned since I've moved in 11 yrs ago and man did they need to be cleaned. Great service & will continue to use them. Edit: although they did a good service cleaning, we also needed the back wall repaired and asked them to give us a quote. He informed us he would have his boss, who does the repairs, book an appoint with us. He took the measurements & pictures but never contacted us again. Friendly young man, but had personal skills of someone who understands proper customer service. He placed tarps down and made sure not to leave a speck of dirt. These guys were great. We had someone out a year ago about a broken flu pipe and they told us we would have to replace the whole thing at a very high cost. I couldn't afford it so I put it off but I decided to call these guys to get another opinion just in case it could be fixed before winter again. They came out, took a look and said they could go through the wall and fix it no problem and for MUCH less money than replacing the whole thing. I'm very pleased with the service I received from A better Vent Cleaning I received a call 30 minutes prior to arrival to inform me they would be at my home in 20 to 30 minutes,they arrived on time ready to go with setting up covering areas they would be working in the prevent any mess.I had all 22 vents including the dryer serviced, the service took about five hours which I was aware of prior to them starting my husband stayed home and called to tell me they did a fantastic job.They also recommended changing to new filter post vent cleaning which we did. Be careful, we had two issues that needed to be fixed. The first was the chase cover and top cap of our chimney. It was either measured wrong or built wrong and came out very uneven ( as you can see from pictures it does not fit properly) it fits even on two sides and uneven on the other two. The next was our interior chimney pipe that had to be installed to get the top cap to fit. I had to ask Alex to throw his ladder and get up there and see exactly what we needed before ordering and installing (which he should of done on his own). He got up took a look and then proceeded to tell me what we needed to fix the problem. We agreed that a new pipe was recommended. When it came to installation alex was not able to get to the bottom of the chimney to install new pipe. He proceeded to tell me that everything looked fine and we can use the old chimney pipe. HUH? and then charged me 350 dollars to put back my old pieces. So in short we paid for a top cap that dosen't fit and got our old pipe reinstalled for 350 ... please be careful when using this company and make sure you watch their work .. Smooth sailing from start to finish! Contacted Alex through Yelp and he replied almost instantly, even though it was Easter Sunday. He gave me a quick rundown of what his service entails and provided me with a quote. He said he could come by Tuesday and gave me an time window for arrival. The day of service, I texted him to confirm our appointment and again he replied quickly. He arrived within the mentioned time frame too. Think it took him about half an hour to clear my vent of all the lint that the previous homeowners had collected in there. His equipment is professional and does not leave behind any mess. Someone from the company came out to inspect my fireplace. They charged me $149 and were there for 10 minutes. I'm not even sure what they did. I was told that I would be sent an email with an estimate for the work that we need done and am still waiting. I feel like I was over charged and I have no feedback or solution for my fireplace.
