Abelardo’s Mexican Fresh - Big Shrimp burrito - Mexican Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Today being 4/11/26 i went to your store on north 27th street in Lincoln, Me. I ordered two shrimp burrito's to go and paid with my debit card. I immediately asked the lady if they had a larger cup for the salsa sauce because all they had out were teenie tiny cups which the customer has to fill themselves and in order to not have 10 tiny containers in my to go sack i asked if she had a larger cup. She went in the back and returned with a small foam cup. I then asked if she had a lid for it because my order is to go. At this point your employee started making baseless accusations at me about how i was going to take more salsa than i am entitled to. First let me say i paid well over $13 dollars per burrito plus tax. There is no sign that states i am limited to how much salsa i am allowed on my burrito. However i had not even stepped over to the salsa at any point to take any of it. I told her to forget it and just return my money and i will go elsewhere. Your employee refused to return my money and refused to give me the food i paid for in front of other customers mind you. At this point i left and went to the police station to make a police report. Of course Lincoln police claim its a civil matter that your employee stold over $28 dollars of my money. This all happend at approximately 5:55 PM on 4/11/26. When i returned inside the store to get a witnesses name your employee was laughing about it with a customer. I will spread this incident far and wide from today forward. read more

Food was good but not great. Service was okay. I got the adobada plate and my son got the super fries. Portions were good and large. A little on the greasy side but tasty. My daughter's chicken quesadilla was greasy and sloppy and fell apart. This would have been a 4 or 5 star but for the following.. We ordered the cheesecake chimichangas to go ... which are clearly displayed as $4.99 but I was charged $5.99. When I mentioned this to the cashier she matter of factly stated that they are $5.99. I pointed directly at the sign on the window showing that it is $4.99. She said the manager told her that she has to charge $5.99. That corporate said to do so. If this is the case they need to take down the sign. As long as the sign is in the window that states it is $4.99 this is "bait and switch" and "false advertising ". It would be a simple fix to take down the sign or put a 5 over the 4. read more

First off, I'd like to mention that I've been going to Abelardo's for years. Abelardo's is a restaurant that's been in Omaha for some time and has grown immensely. In my opinion, this is due to the great value, taste, and service that they provide. This review is similar to review I posted for a different Abelardo's location, but modified as necessary. Abelardo's my family's favorite go-to restaurant on fast food night. Once a week, we order food in and out of the six people in my family, four of them recommend Abelardo's first. Needless to say, we end up eating there quite a bit. I always get the chorizo breakfast burrito. The burrito is massive, very reasonably priced, and comes with chorizo, egg, potatoes, and cheese. It is greasy, massive, and delicious. I will admit, it is somewhat unappetizing to see the amount of grease in it. But I don't order a chorizo burrito at a Mexican restaurant expecting health food. Cost of $7.99, which does not include any sides, But is an insanely good value. My wife and eldest son usually get the combination plate number 18 which comes with two carne asada burritos, rice, and beans. The portion is massive as well. My teenage son eats the whole thing, but my wife routinely saves one of the burritos for leftovers the next day. The meat is well seasoned and overall, it's pretty tasty. Cost for the meal is $12.99. My two younger sons both get hey breakfast burrito, usually sausage and bacon. Again, this is similar sized to the chorizo burrito (HUGE) and it's stuffed full of ingredients. These also cost $7.99, which is pretty affordable given the size. Extra meat is $0.75. My daughter has ordered the soft tacos and the fried taco on different occasions. The fried taco she got last time was crispy and delicious, but not too oily and sits on a bed of lettuce. She, along with my two boys who tried it, all said that the refried beans were delicious. Refried beans are their favorite item at Mexican restaurants, so I will trust their opinion on this one. The refried beans were $2.99 for a portion that looked to be about about a pint. Total bill is usually around $60 for six people, which includes two adults and one teenager. So even though it seems pricey, it's rather affordable for a meal for our family, and the burritos usually provide leftovers for four of the people. Another thing to point out, is that the menu at Abelardo's is huge. There is a ton of different offerings and types of products to order, and surely there is something for everybody. Abelardo's is routinely meeting or exceeding our expectations for taste. I haven't eaten in this particular location, but the drive-thru is always quick and the employees are attentive and friendly. When you're there, it's also worth trying the Mexican drinks, especially the horchata. If you like Mexican food, you must try Abelardo's and likely won't be disappointed! read more

Disclaimer: we frequent this location once or twice a month and normally do not have any problems. I would typically give it between 4 and 5 stars. This review is based on one bad visit, hence the disclaimer that I normally have no problems here and I keep coming back. And for that reason, even though this is a negative review, I am giving 4 stars. 1. I hate cilantro. I despise it. It should be banned. I can taste even the tiniest bit and it tastes like metallic soap. It's disgusting. It makes me angry. 2. Wherever I am, when I order anything that might potentially have cilantro on it in any form or fashion, I ask about it if I'm not sure, and I clearly state no cilantro. I frequently get the carne asada burrito at this location and I always tell them NO pico de gallo, no cilantro. Today I ordered two carne asada burritos and I clearly said "no pico de gallo, no cilantro". Even translated into Spanish, it's the same: "no pico de gallo, no cilantro". 3. I got home with the burritos, and the spousal unit and I cut them in half to start eating, and what did we see? A butt load of pico de gallo, which contains cilantro. By the time all of the pico de gallo had been scraped out of two halves of our burritos, including a little bit of sacrificial meat, a large ramekin was totally filled up with that garbage. And the volume of the burritos were basically reduced by half. 4. Again, we go to this location once or twice a month and have never before had problems. But it angers me that I very clearly told them no pico de gallo or cilantro and they still put enough in there to ruin the burritos. Yes, I will be back there again, within a week or two, and I'm sure the dining experience will be just fine. But that doesn't change the fact that I feel like good money was wasted today on something that I essentially cannot eat and enjoy. All because someone wasn't listening. I ordered the 3 taquito rolls with guac and cheese and the 2 carne asade burrito combo. The rolls had little to no guac and cheese on them and the burritos were double wrapped tortillas with almost no carne asada. I won't be coming back. This location is a joke to the brand. I was a bit taken aback when I noticed the price of a $9.00 breakfast burrito but I was hungry and a friend insisted that this place was great and well worth the price. Well he was right the chorizo and egg breakfast burrito was excellent!!!! And I had to ask two employees help me load it into the back of my truck. In reality it did last me for two meals and reheated very nicely in the microwave. This place isn't fancy on the inside and that's okay with me. They are obviously concerned about the quality and quantity of their food. I shall make this a regular. read more

Was there tonight to pick up a few burritos.. my husband got the chicken and I got a veggie but asked to add potatoes. I have had a few breakfast burritos there and added potatoes and they were delicious. When I picked up my burrito and brought it home I went to check to make sure it had potatoes... and it was full of French fries? I do realize you can add French fries to it so I double checked the order to make sure we had selected correctly and we did. No French fries were selected. And they were cold French fries! I called the location and spoke with a woman and explained the situation.. she said those were the only "potatoes " they had? I said well according to her website that was incorrect... she said she did not know what the website said? I asked for a Credit for my burrito as it was going in the garbage and she said she would see what she could do... and then kindly hung up on me. I won't be back. Ordered a hash brown breakfast burrito. I'm a vegetarian and it had sausage and bacon in it. The menu says that breakfast burritos come with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and ... then select an option (options which include sausage and bacon). Nowhere does it say that the hash brown burrito would also include meat. We brought the burrito back thinking it would be a mistake and get a new burrito but we were just told that it comes that way despite it never being listed on the menu. No offer to get a new burrito or a refund. They need to make the menu more clear or be able to remedy the situation. read more

The Queso is sooooooo good, has great flavor and you get a great amount! The carne asada taco was SO good! Just the one taco was packed and made two tacos! And they included a ton of different sauces. Food was made fast and was still warm when it got here. Def recommend read more
