I wish I could give a higher rating, but his customer service and technical skills are abysmal. He charged $350 to fix our microwave (blown fuse) the first time. Two days later, it stopped working again. We called him back, he came the next weekend and fixed it again, but couldn't tell us why it happened again, or how to permanently fix the issue. A few days later, it stopped working once more. So we called him again, he came a third time. Again he couldn't tell us why the microwave we've used without issue for almost 3 years was suddenly malfunctioning, and why his fix was not permanent. It's been extremely inconvenient to have to keep rearranging our schedules to work around his, because he 1) refuses to come in the morning, and 2) shows not one ounce of remorse about the fact that he's not doing a good job. If you have to do something three times over, then maybe try something new: consult a colleague, refund the fee. At the very least, admit fault, apologize and work with the customers to find a convenient time that works for both parties. It's currently the third time since he first "fixed" the microwave that it stopped working again, and I'm sitting here exchanging texts with him, begging for him to come before 10am on Saturday. He refuses, calling it "blackmail", and also refuses to refund our money. He's the one blackmailing us, refusing to come before 1pm because of traffic. Not another obligation, not a job, not childcare to figure out. Traffic. Convenience. I would never work with this guy again, it's been such a headache and he has no sense of proper customer service. We're out $350 dollars, and despite his 90 day warranty, he refuses to refund our money. If you can find another repair person, do it. read more

Abel is highly recommended! Abel came for Flatbush to Bed Stuy to fix my AC that burned out after being plugged into an overpowered electrical outlet. He was totally professional, punctual, and followed through with all his communication plans. That was unlike about four other air conditioning and electronics repair places with good Yelp reviews, whom I called, emailed, and texted, and whom tentatively made plans but flaked without a word, or never responded. I rang him around noon this Saturday, and he answered the phone, and said he could make it over in three hours, confirming details and the appointment time along the way. Within a short time of opening my portable Haeir AC, he was able to ascertain that parts had burned out, and thoughtfully asked a few questions to inform his findings. Abel also checked the troublesome outlet, determining it was no good, and recommended not using it, offering to fix it in the future if I wanted. He replaced the AC's necessary electronic innards, and had it wrapped back up in an hour and a half. Even the remote control was tested. He left gave advise about use/care for the AC, too. The bill was $175. That price was fair given it was a house visit and the machine cost about $400 and was out of warranty. In our initial phone call, Abel explained that the house visit and examination alone would be $30 if there was nothing that could be done to rescue the machine. Abel is a great appliance repair man in brooklyn! The problem was my washing machine stopped spinning. After trying to contact multiple businesses with good reviews and no one got back to me i got frustrated. I was recommended to abel for appliance repair. I was a little reluctant because he didn't have any reviews on yelp, but from what my friend told me he was great. He came about 2 hours after i called. Shiney shoes and a nice white shirt. Very professional guy. He got down and dirty and took apart my washing machine very carefully. His determination was the motor was burnt out due to transmission over load. He recommended that i buy a brand new washing machine because the cost was going to outweigh the repair bill. He said the part will be $300, ill charge you $225, it just makes sense for you to get a new machine with a warranty. THEN he actually put the machine back together and cleaned up! No upsetting and no nickel and diming. I am glad i found my appliance repair man for years to come! I was reluctant to leave a review because this guy is a diamond in the rough and afraid once he is discovered and gets busy he will raise prices but he deserves it. This joker showed up to fix our AC with almost no tools, asked me if I had a vacuum cleaner. So you know I called you for a repair and you don't have a basic cleaning tool? He cleaned the AC with a tiny wire brush and the AC worked for another week and a half, and then BAM, it was blowing hot air again. So no FREON repair even though that is exactly what I asked for. We call him again and he says he can look at the AC again if we take it out of the window for him. Seriously? I can't believe I paid this hack what he asked for the first time. And I can't believe his positive reviews are real with this kind of unprofessionalism and unpreparedness. You repair Air Conditioners, but you can't pull them out of a window yourself? Hack. We end up doing what everyone does, and bought a new AC. I hate throwing repair worthy stuff out, but I hate throwing my money away even more. I highly recommend Abel for any clothes washing machine repair. I called in the early afternoon and he came over later that same day at 6pm (as I requested) to fix my washing machine that was not activating the drain and spin cycle. Abel quickly pinpointed the problem with the wiring of the timer and re-wired the existing part with a "new combination" to make it work again. He also checked other parts on the machine and reassured me they are in good shape. The machine was working efficiently within an hour from the start of the appointment. My central air conditioner stopped working during one of the most severe heat waves we have experienced. Since I had an insurance policy for my air conditioning, I called the insurance company to get someone out to fix it. They sent someone right away from one company. A mechanic did come out to investigate and told me that there was an issue with the blower motor, which had to be replaced. That was the last that I had heard from that company. After about a week and a half with no response, I got back to the insurance company, demanding that they send me some other company. FINALLY, I got some results. The Right Way HVAC & APPLIANCE SPECIALISTS did come out, diagnose the issue, order and receive the needed part, and install it with no issues (problems) at all.
