Came here a lot growing up and it feels and looks kind of the same which means they should probably update and replace things when they get a chance. But if you're looking for cheap produce and groceries abc market is a decent place to go. When I went during lunar new year most recently it was super packed so I would avoid going during holiday periods.

This place is a madhouse around the holidays, but I do enjoy buying lobster and having the House Special sauce (Dac Biet). Lemme break down the workflow: You go to the seafood counter, wait in line, and there's two men pulling lobsters out of a huge tank. You tell him how many lobsters you want, and he hands you a bag and puts a lobster in it. Then you wait in line again at the actual meat counter, and ask for them to cook it. They hand you a ticket and you bring that to the very front left of the supermarket where they sell food to go. You pay first (yes they accept card), and they give you a receipt and let you know when to come back and pick up the order. Do not lose the receipt! It's always sooo delicious, hot, crispy and indulgent. This place gets packed with Viet people, so you know it's authentic and good.

A local friend who really knows the area took me to check out this Vietnamese supermarket, saying their sauces and seafood are especially cheap. After walking around the store, I noticed that some of the vegetables are slightly cheaper than at Shun Fat. As for sauces, I did a quick comparison with two Lee Kum Kee products I often buy: * Honey Soy Braising Sauce: As of early June 2025, it's on sale for $2.99 on Weee, but here it's $3.19. * Sweet Soy Sauce: $5.99 on Weee, but only $4.99 here -- $1 cheaper! I even checked my receipt from Shun Fat back in April: I paid $3.29 for the Honey Soy Sauce (so this place is $0.10 cheaper), and $4.99 for the Sweet Soy Sauce, same price as here. The meat and seafood sections are clean and well-lit. Live Boston lobsters were on sale for $9.99/lb (as of 6/5/2025) and there was a line of people grabbing them. They also had a wide variety of live seafood, probably more than nearby Shun Fat or T&T Supermarket and prices are about the same or a bit cheaper. Bonus: they can clean or prep the seafood for you. (Most of the signage is in Vietnamese, so using a photo translation app really helps!) Note: For purchases under $10, it's cash only. Over $10, you can pay by card. Make sure to hold on to your receipt before you exit. ABC Supermarket - Siêu Thị 8970 Bolsa Ave, Westminster, CA 92683

ABC is too popular amongst the Vietnamese American community here, I guess if you're visiting OC, you have to stop by here and buy something, they have so many things that other Vietnamese markets from different cities didn't have, especially the produce sections got more varieties with cheaper prices. Seafood section also got great deals, I remember they used to have special for lobsters and crabs that they cook for you on the spot, the biggest lobster you would ever seen, now it's looked like they changed it, still they have other stuffs to draw you in here if you're not from OC :)

That said, the salmon and especially the yellowtail were outstanding, it was fresh, flavorful, and everyone enjoyed it. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try the shrimp or scallop next time. Currently most items are frozen but I hope they can offer some fresh options to better enjoy day off and smaller quantities (half pounds) so I can buy a little bit of everything. I liked the single-serve salmon portions, as well as ready-to-heat-and-eat meals that Amazon Fresh had. Someone recommended that I check out Wild Fork - also on Brookhurst (at Adams) - so off I went! I stopped by on an early Sunday morning - so luckily, the parking lot was practically empty, as was the store. Immediately upon entering I noticed how bright and clean the store was, wide aisles, everything was organized in its own little section. I started off on one corner and just browsed my way through. Nina - one of the store clerks here - chanced upon me and asked if I needed help finding anything. I told her it was my first time - and she took it from there! Extremely friendly, warm and welcoming - she explained the store's color coded system, pointing out the exotic meats section (they have alligator/crocodile here!!), beef - including wagyu, pork, sausages (they literally have two freezer sections of sausage/chorizo), meals/appetizers, and my favorite section - seafood/fish. After I shared with her my sadness over Amazon Fresh closing - especially because I liked their single-serve salmon portions - Nina pointed out their salmon offerings, and mentioned that their salmon portions are also single-serve, flash frozen (so they stay fresh longer) - but showed me how they were individually wrapped within their own packaging. I picked up a few salmon entrees based off Nina's recommendations, and my own tastes. I know a few people have raved about their frozen pasta meals - so I grabbed a few of those boxes too. Checkout was a breeze - Nina helped me at checkout and shared that the store occasionally has BBQs on the weekends. Wild Fork is definitely a new favorite - hoping to come back and check out the other offerings depending on how everything I bought turns out! Awesome service and introduction to a new customer - thanks, Nina!

The store itself is smaller if you compare it with places like Shun Fat Westminster Superstore or Hòa Bình supermarket. There is only one checkout counter and the staff all seem to be Vietnamese. After walking around, they pretty much have all the basics covered. The focus is Vietnamese and Southeast Asian ingredients and sauces. They have their own seafood and meat counter with number tags where you can ask them to clean or cut fish, plus a small deli to go section. I also noticed their delivery vehicle outside that says wholesale, so it seems like they also supply restaurants in the area. Overall it feels like a neighborhood market that also does some wholesale business. The fresh section looked clean and there was no strong smell. I happened to see ground pork on sale for $2.49 per pound. The regular price was $2.79. Of course I had just paid $3.99 per pound earlier that day at 99 Ranch in Irvine because I wanted convenience. While we were there, a Vietnamese lady next to us was buying a big pile of meat and seafood and chatting with us while waiting for it to be cut. She said she always shops here. She ended up buying the last of the ground pork in the display. We asked if there was any left and the butcher said he had more in the back, so we immediately decided to grab two pounds. I think this place is perfect if you do not want to push a cart around a huge store and just need to pick up a few items quickly. They are open until 8pm. Next time I have more time I will come back and explore a bit more to see what other interesting things they carry. For meat, I grabbed ground beef, pork neck (currently on sale for $1.99/lb), and chicken breast. Prices were definitely reasonable. For produce, quite a few items were cheaper than H Mart, including enoki mushrooms, Japanese yam, daikon, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and carrots. That said, the Japanese yam didn't look very fresh this time, so I ended up skipping it and buying it at H Mart instead, even though it was a bit more expensive. Some items were priced about the same as H Mart, like napa cabbage ($0.99/lb), onions ($0.39/lb), and bean sprouts ($0.99 per pack). One change I noticed is that cucumbers are now pre-packaged instead of being sold loose, so you can't pick them individually anymore. They're also slightly more expensive than H Mart now. They also had a great deal on Driscoll's strawberries, $0.99 for a 1 lb box, which is definitely worth picking up. Overall, still a great spot for affordable grocery shopping, especially if you're cooking at home and want to save a bit here and there. (visited on 3/31/2026)
