Lots of ABC Stores in Waikiki - this one I went to the most because it was close to my hotel. Great spot for essentials (sunscreen, water, snacks, first aid), but also apparel, accessories, and beach needs (love my floatie!). It is cheaper if you are saying awhile to get stuff from Costco but ABC stores are so convenient. Can pick things up on your morning walks to coffee or evening walks from dinner. read more

ABC stores are a-plenty in the Honolulu area - they seem to be a one-stop shop for those who are looking for gifts and apparels to bring back home, in addition to being a small little mart to pick up basics/necessities. This particular location had a nice selection of leather-stitched wallets and keychains. The only thing is that this place reeked of sewage, so not sure if there's a plumbing issue going. I don't normally write reviews on convenience stores, but this one really stood out. I found myself in starvation mode when my cheap husband doesn't want to have lunch so we can enjoy our buffet dinner, and ABC store had an excellent variety of both hot and cold prepared foods at an affordable price. There were items like musubi, potstickers, and rice plates in the hot section while wraps and sandwiches were in the cold section. This location in particular is conveniently located at the hotel in case anyone happens to be like me and just needed to grab something affordable and tasty really quick. We've gone here before to buy beverages for our room as well and there's a larger variety of alcoholic drinks than nonalcoholic drinks. Although we visited multiple ABC stores, I chose to review this particular site because this was the only store that shared that if I kept my receipts and spent $100 I would be privy to a free gift. This place as all the ones we visited were well stocked. All employees I encountered were pleasant and helpful. I was able to purchase everything from snacks like chips and soda to cooked items like musubi and a hot dynamite chicken rice bowl and even a sweater to bring back for my son. I actually spent over $100 but not enough for the next tier of gifts. I chose a sea turtle mug with Hawaii printed on the front. So every time I drink my morning cup of Joe it hopefully takes me back to my time in paradise. read more

The staple convenience store in Waikiki. Whatever you need, ABC probably carries it. Pretty much located at every block in Waikiki so necessities were never too far. Staff were mostly friendly and check-out was always efficient. No one went around the store to assist customers but they would help if asked. =BOUGHT= *Reasonably priced bottle water and jugs *Had a decent selection on instant noodles and foods *Wide selection of alcohol *Musubi for $2.29 and the spam/egg/furikake wasn't mind-blowing but served as a humble snack *Band-aids *Plenty of souvenirs and chocolates to bring home as gifts Some of their ready to eat foods seemed old and lacking so we passed on those items. Strangely there were items placed in the aisles and under the refrigerated sections so avoided those areas. ABC stores are very convenient stores. We love to go there every time we visit Hawaii. The place is nice and clean. The staffs are friendly at all times. ~ Make sure to save your receipts for free gifts ~ The good thing about ABC stores is that every time you spend $100 before tax you can get one small gift, reusable bag or mug or calendar. If you spend $300 before tax you can get one T-shirt or etc. I am not sure if they have expiration dates for the free gifts. We usually get our free gift once we hit the spend amount. ^.^ read more

Husband bought me a Spam musubi. It is so cute. We came here to pick up some drinks and snacks. We got some pork gisantes bowls in the hot food section. We got some fruits and sandwiches. Like shopping at this ABC store because of the variety of merchandise available here. We will definitely return if we're in the area again. I forgot to take pictures of our food. The fruits we bought was old and tasted funny. I guess it was sitting in their too long. I was disappointed, but other than that the rest of our food items were ok. read more

I love this store and this location. I am such a tourist and I'm proud of it! I got magnets, bottle openers, souvenir shirts, drinks, and snacks! The staff was really helpful and showed me where the tshirt "deals" were...a great place to grab some sunblock or a quick sports drink. The snacks have improved over time. I kept looking at this ABC store which was diagonal from where I was sitting at lunch time... I kept wondering if they would have the missing Hello Kitty bag that I wanted... Now that I look at other photos, I know that there is a fifth Hello Kitty reusable bag design that is in existence, and is probably all gone because they don't make Hello Kitty reusable bags anymore... Anyway, after lunch, Dear Daniel and I walked across the street (from the Ohana Waikiki East Hotel) to the ABC store. I was about to give up because I did not see any Hello Kitty reuable bags! However, Dear Daniel has a positive attitude. He and I went one more time through the store and he saw it displayed on the top shelf, way in the back corner, near the ceiling. I asked this staff if I could have that bag and she said she had to get a ladder... Yay! Mission accomplished! I got the 4th design (out of 5, I believe) of the Hello Kitty series! There's literally an ABC on every single block. This is a great place for souvenirs. They have candy, macadamia nuts, earrings, bags and basically anything you want to bring home. I went to Long's drug which is a convenient shop, and they have almost the same stuff as ABC but it's cheaper. Not a big difference, maybe by a few dollars. Closes pretty late. 12am. read more

This is a great convenience store and the best part is you don't need to find one, they are everywhere in Waikiki. Surprised there isn't more than one store in Honolulu airport. In Waikiki there's about 2 ABC stores every block, but not all of them are the same. This was one of the bigger and better ones. They had a good selection of snacks as well as drinks. They even marked the items that are local products just in case you want to buy items that are only available on the Hawaiian islands. The prices were also very reasonable. On my last visit, I purchased the following: 1.5L of water for $.99 and 4 cans of Island root beer for $7.99. Not too shabby! read more

I needed a bandaid since I cut my foot on a rock while surfing. My ghetto hotel didn't have any, and the Food Pantry Express nearby had a very small selection with $5 being the cheapest for a box of bandaids. I decided to try this ABC Store, where I found a travel size pack of bandaids for a more reasonable price! This ABC Store has a better selection of stuff than the Food Pantry Express. For groceries, Food Pantry definitely has a much larger selection than ABC. I don't know how the prices on most groceries compare, but I do know that a 1.5 liter bottle of Hawaiian Isles water was 99 cents at both Food Pantry and this ABC Store. Yeah, I have to buy water too, since my hotel doesn't even have a drinking fountain. Bleh. I need to find a less ghetto hotel in the future. Anyway, this ABC Store is great because it was the closest one to my hotel and saved me from the ghettoness of said hotel. Both times I've shopped here, the cashier was pretty friendly. read more

Other liquor/convenience stores in the area were on the more expensive side, but this place always has the most reasonable prices and the most variety. ABC stores are ridiculously consistent. There are about forty of them within a three square mile radius (literally), they all have the same things. Basic staples (milk, bread, sodas, ice), beach necessities (suntan lotion, beach mats, towels), and souveniers (chocolate covered macademia nuts, dried papays, plastic leis). This one is no better, no worse, and only has the distinction of being directly across from my hotel. The people working there were nice. Tried to upsell my friend a muffin, put the idea into my head. Pineapple-Orange. Not bad. Decent alternative to a 7-11 with the aloha spirit. Suits it purpose. read more

The store was clean and the cashier was friendly when she rung up my items. This is my favorite ABC store. I went here all the time during a previous trip when I was staying just up the street at the Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel. It was also directly across from a bus stop which made it very convenient. I agree with the statements that there are many many ABC Stores...you can barely walk a block in Waikiki without seeing another one. And they all have generally the same types of things. But this one is large, carries more of the stuff you'll be looking for, and the people are just super nice! Not saying you should pass all of the others just to get to this one for your chocolate covered macadamia nut fix, but if your hotel is in this area, this should definitely be your ABC Store. read more

In my travels around the Hawaiian Islands, I have visited several ABC locations, this location on Kuhio is my most frequented due to proximity to the hotels I've stayed at. As with all ABC Stores, there is a variety of convenient products and foods available at a reasonable price. I especially like the incentive that if you spend over $100 at the ABC Stores cumulatively, you receive a free gift - a nice souvenir to remind you of your trip when you are back on the mainland. Really poor experience with the employees here. Very rude service and when I asked for the bathroom one of the employees here slammed the service door in my face and said "it really sucks that we don't have a bathroom here". I am furious and hope you can improve your service in the future. Will be going to neighboring stores instead in the future. read more
