ABC Stores are an iconic chain of convenience and souvenir stores throughout Hawaii. This ABC Store is located on the second level of The Shops of Wailea. This location was a bit subdued compared to others we've been to. It is quiet with employees generally working at trying to look busy. No employees were seen greeting customers. The store's offerings were particularly limited in its grab-and-go food offerings, but had a good variety of dry goods and personal care sundries. There was a limited amount of souvenir selections, beach items and chocolates compared to other ABCs. The selection of lounge wear, t-shirts and Hawaiian apparel were plentiful, and the prices and quality were quite reasonable. ABC Stores offers a Gold Card, which entitles the bearer to free gifts or combinations of gifts after purchasing a certain amount, however no associate mentioned the card at this location. Ask the cashier for one of ABC's Gold Reward card. read more

IMHO This is my favorite ABC Store on the island. Perhaps it's because its location is in the nicest shopping mall in Maui, and the square footage of the store is huge. It carries the usual touristy items and souvenirs plus anything you forgot to pack, and food/drink. However, this trip I discovered some cute new items that I will consider for future visits. Check out the cute socks! I was happy to find next year's (2027) calendars already in stock, two for $5, or one for $2.99. We also found a warming oven full of spam musubi and chicken katsu musubi! We chose the katsu for a quick shared snack. It was delicious and the perfect size to satisfy our hunger. Customer service is excellent and aloha friendly as always! read more

Located on the second level on the north side of The Shops At Wailea, it's odd that this place exists as the nearby Island Gourmet Market is also an ABC Store, but on a much larger scale. I guess it's more of a convenience thing. They sell all the usual touristy goods including t-shirts, beach towels and souvenirs. Their fresh food offerings are minuscule, but the dry goods are plentiful and their wine selection is even better. OVERALL: Pricey but worth the convenience. read more

Conveniently located in the Shops at Wailea, we made a couple stops here for snacks and beach wear. This ABC is on the larger side and had a surprisingly good selection of Hawaiian shirts (hello RJC) and sun dresses that we didn't find at other smaller ABCs on the island. The takeaway snacks weren't quite as good here as Island Gourmet (ie where was the hurricane popcorn?!) and lacked some hot food offerings. All in all, worth a visit for clothing, touristy knick knacks and beach related gear alone. read more

This location is located in the Shops at Wailea which was super convenient since it was a less than 5 minute walk from our hotel. They had almost everything you could want in this store (minus hot food but thats ok). We were easily able to get all of our of souvenirs and gifts for back home from here. The staff was so friendly and helpful here as well. Absolutely necessary if you need to grab gifts for people in a pinch. read more

It has the same souvenirs that are available at the other ABC stores, but then a little bit extra as well. Love the ABC stores. What's Hawaii without experiencing this place. Everything you ever needed from a convenience store and more. I find myself daily coming in for something or just to get my favorite after beach Cherry ICE-E. Now if you need some basic items for the beach they have it. 30 different sun blocks, beer, water and snacks. But wait there's more! I like this store a lot. Not sure what the locals think but for a tourist...after going to many overpriced stores...this one was a welcome change. Good selection of shirts and other souvenirs at very reasonable prices and with friendly employees. Bought a lot here. read more

A place that you should visit when arriving to Hawaii called the ABC store. It has a simple name and amazingly cheap prices. Compared to many places this store will see everything that you need to give as gifts to family, friends and your loved ones. They will truly enjoy the gifts that you bring back no matter how small or what the price is because than they will know you were thinking about them on your vacation! I'd suggest coming here at the end of the day so you don't lug all the items back and fourth. Just make this your last stop but also don't forget about it! I went a little crazy last time and I felt like I bought the whole entire store. The reason is because they sell a lot of cute Hello Kitty items. Even the cashier made a joke and asked me if this was for me or for the kids. But yes all the items were for myself and a few friends. I ended up buying beach towels, bags, key chains, chocolates, candies and much more. Overall it was a fun experience and it wasn't too overly expensive! read more

Bottom Line: Cheesy souvenirs, beverages and snacks. I know that ABC stores are cheesy and fully of touristy goodness but I still love going in them. Even if I don't need an ugly Mele Kalilimaka Christmas ornament, Big Kahunas of Hawaii calendar or hula girl post it notes, I definitely need some drinks and snacks. My go to snacks are the Maui chips and chocolate covered Macadamia nuts - the standard Hawaiian stuff. This location in the Shops at Wailea offers a large display of groceries, alcohol, and souvenirs to boot. We were able to find most of the souvenirs we wanted here. Spend $100 (which is very easy to do) and you get a free tote bag. read more

We picked up spray on sunblock (which we don't usually pack because we don't like waiting for checked luggage), flip flops, sarong, and snacks for the beach. My husband got wine and beer which is $12 for a six pack versus $8 for one at the pool bar. Our resort practically shares a walkway to the Wailea shopping, so that was super convenient. Would be four stars but I took one off because the ink on the plastic bags rubbed off all over my husband's clothes!! The bags look super sturdy, but be warned that the ink does not react well to condensation. read more

Hey, it's the freakin' ABC store! Everything you want, nothing you don't. One think I like about the ABC stores is they change to fit their environment. The one @ Lahina fits in with the vibe, as does the one in Wailea, and the one in Whaler's Village Kaanapali Bay. But they are always good quality stuff at fair (for Hawaii) prices. We came here first, spent a bunch of money, then regretted it when we found the same items much cheaper at other stores in the courtyard. They charge 15 cents for a bag, but if you spend over $100 you can pick a free item (a bag is one of the choices), but they won't tell you that until after you pay and purchase a bag. Staff is not very friendly. Go directly across the courtyard for cheaper prices on the same items and many better items. read more

I frequent this location because I work next door and often grab a lunch to go and no matter how busy, I've never had to wait for in line for more than a minute. i do wish they had more vegan options for snacks and more variety of fresh fruit available but the service is always good and they keep the store clean and organized. read more

If you are looking for a place to grab some snacks, drinks and alcohol for your stay this is one option in the shops by Wailea area. I would suggest if you are in a rental home/condo you stock up at a grocery store but if you are staying at one of the pricey resorts and wish you could have a couple items in the room for a little cheaper than the hotel gift shop selection this is a decent spot for this. I am not a souvenier purchaser by nature but I realize there are some inexpensive and possibly cheesier gifts to be had here. Certainly cheaper than buying something at Prada or Gucci a few stores away. read more

It's like Whole Foods meets a Hawaiian 7-Eleven. Learned about this place on yelp and immediately marched over here to check it out after we checked in at the Grand Wailea. We got to pick up some extra sunscreen and I got a little flower clip for my hair. We got a six pack of bottled water for $5 that lasted us through the trip, and a few little snacks for breakfast. Although we didn't, you can also get booze here as well. Whaler's General Store downstairs is not bad, too. I'd say the prices are comparable. A good place to get snacks to eat in the hotel room or beachside so you can feed yourself on a budget. read more

This is the nicest ABC store in Hawaii. Seriously. It really has everything you could need when you are in Hawaii and has the best selection of gifts to take home. I had been looking all over for the Hello Kitty in Hawaii post-its and this ABC store is the only place I found them. On three islands, mind you! These stores are everywhere and perfect for jumping in and grabbing something on the fly. That said, they are full of plasticy crap souvenirs and t-shirts. They are less expensive than the sundries store in our hotel, but they are more expensive than Longs, Safeway, or Foodland. The shops at Wailea are fancy, and this ABC Store has a good selection and is really clean, but $11 for a bottle of Head and Shoulders made me stick with the hotel shampoo. read more

Convenient store with piles of Hawaii memorabilia. ABC Stores are all over Maui, and good value. Lots of the stuff you want to take home. Plus, in some locations, milk, bread, beer, coolers, donuts, and the local paper. A second choice to Whaler's General Store, but still well stocked for the visitor's needs. read more

3.5 stars. I agree with another reviewer who stated that this ABC store comes second to the Whaler's General Store downstairs. ABC is missing the deli and prepared foods section. However, I still love ABC stores in general and use them regularly. They have great souvenirs and gifts. They also have a full selection of snacks, beer and liquor, which can come in handy. Be sure to go early enough, as most close between 10pm and midnight. It isn't like a 7-Eleven in that regard. I believe this particular location closed at 10pm nightly. If you save your receipts, they give you gifts before you leave at the end of your trip. Mostly things like coffee mugs, calendars, and chocolates. It was worth it for me because they had some funny calendars, including one with Hawaiian guys posing in the ocean and what not. I wanted to give that calendar as a gag gift to one of my guy friends, so I made my girlfriend go in and get it using the receipts I saved. She was really embarassed. I was laughing from outside the store. When I got back, my friend came over and was presented with his new calendar. He said he loved it, and promptly gave it to his girlfriend. These stores are everywhere on Maui. They are nice for some provisions or for cheap souvenirs. The staff is usually pleasant and helpful. I prefer Whaler's downstairs for a lot of things but there are things that ABC has that they do not. read more

We really loved this store! It is so easy and quick to buy souvenirs, and they have several grocery items. Yes, they may be more expensive then the actual grocery store, but it is so convenient not to have to leave the Wailea area to get some cheese or wine. The service is great, and they give you free samples of that chocolate covered macadamia nuts if you were interested. We bought a 12 pack for $45, and handed them out to all our friends back at home. read more

Just like every other ABC store. Convenience store laid out like virtually ever other one you've been too. Be sure to save receipts to get free bag when spend $100. Bags are precious commodity on Hawai'i so getting one "for free" is a big deal. If you spend more there are other rewards but the bag is the best one. read more

Love ABC stores, but this was is GREAT! Is very big, has everything, even the little bottles of rum, etc. :) Definitely a great spot if you are staying in Wailea and don't want to run to Kihei. If you go to Hawaii, especially Waikiki, you will go into an ABC store. Seems like you never tire of them. You realize that it caters to tourist, but heck that's what you are. You get all your 7-11 needs and tons of tourist items that are perfect gift items. Each ABC store is a little different. This one is large and clean. Staff is friendly too. Let's face it, if you come to Hawaii, you need to buy gifts. Come here or Whaler's to meet most of your needs. read more

Great grocery-type convenience store is close to the Grand Wailea - about a 5 minute walk. I was about to buy varied merchandise for over a hundred bucks. The last item was a Maui baseball cap, which was clearly labeled as $6.99 for one on the shelf, yet the register brought up $14. There was no price tag on the cap only bar code. I insisted that they should respect the price they post. I was ignored. I ended not buying any of their crap and I kept $110 in my pocket.
