Liz and her team are beyond amazing! Liz did my bridal make up and Amber did my hair. I was super nervous since my husband and I were having a destination elopement and I didn't have time for a trial prior to wedding day. Both Liz and Amber killed it! I've gotten my hair and make up done before, but I've always had something I didn't like, not with them. They really made sure to listen and hear me and put together my dream bridal day look. I also had a last minute hair switch up with the weather being so windy, Amber did an amazing up do. I couldn't recommend anyone else for their wedding and both Liz and Amber made the process stress free! Most importantly they made me feel so beautiful inside and out. I felt so good and confident and wish I could get my make up and hair done everyday by them. Truly loved spending every minute of my day with them, book them you will not regret it! read more

The Dream Hair & Makeup Team of a Lifetime! I don't even know where to begin!! Liz and Amber were absolute perfection! From the moment they arrived, they brought such amazing energy, calmness, and joy to our wedding day. Liz, my makeup artist, was hands down the best I've ever experienced. She's unbelievably talented and such a light to be around fun, uplifting, and so professional. She made me feel like the most beautiful bride in the world! My makeup was flawless, so glam, and radiant all day long (even through happy tears and hours of dancing!). Amber completely blew me away with her hairstyling skills. My hair was more stunning than I could have ever imagined. It was soft, romantic, and perfectly styled from start to finish. She also did my bridesmaids' hair, and every single one of them looked incredible! Amber was so kind, sweet, and patient truly a professional in every sense. These two plus the rest of their team made our wedding morning not just beautiful, but fun and memorable. I couldn't have asked for a better glam team. I will 1000% be booking with them again the next time I'm in Hawaii for a special event. They're the real deal! Talented, kind, and absolutely extraordinary! read more

We used Maui Makeup Artistry for our wedding day makeup and hair and we are so happy we chose this team for myself, our family and bridal party. We worked with Liz and Dana to coordinate 18 people to get ready by 8:30AM, which was no easy ask but Liz and Dana made it happen! Liz and Amber did the most amazing job for my morning ceremony makeup and hair! Liz literally was putting me at ease the entire time she was doing my makeup, she just has such a calming personality, it was what I needed that morning. My makeup made me feel beautiful but still like myself and Amber did my hair exactly how I wanted it! Marissa and Anna did my reception hair and makeup, and I am so thankful for how amazing they made me feel that evening. Also, a huge thank you to Camille, Misha, Kenzie, Siara, Val, and Shanti for waking up extra early to make my bridal party feel and look so amazing! read more

Coming from Texas, I did a lot of research for vendors across the island. We were flying in to "get Maui'd," so whoever I ended up choosing was based off initial impression. I'm glad I found MMA. From the start, the whole team was very quick to reply to my inquiry & questions - - highly professional all around, proving to be knowledgeable & well-experienced, and they were always easy to communicate & correspond with (very detailed with emails & responsive thru texts). Since it was an elopement/micro-wedding, we requested travel to our AirBnB to makeover 2 ladies: my best friend (the maid of honor) and me (the bride). They assigned us to Marissa, and she was a awesome! I've used several professional makeup artists for various occasions in the past, and Marissa is one of the best from personal experience. With dry skin & sensitive eyes, I've seemingly been a challenge to other MUA's in the past - - tending to flake/peel around parts of my face and my eyes tear up easily. I didn't have any of those problems with Marissa's application. She knew exactly which brushes to use, her technique was amazing, and she carried a nice arsenal of high quality cosmetic products & supplies. I asked for full glam; I wanted drama.... And Marissa delivered! She gave me a beautiful smokey eye and added some nice contours with highlights. Just the right amount of sass. And, it didn't feel heavy at all. It was exactly what I wanted. Our makeup LASTED ALL DAY, despite my ceremony being outdoors. And, as I found my self crying thru a few heartfelt moments (of course), all I needed was a little blotting under the eyes (Marissa gave me a small touch up kit). Through wind, sweat, and tears we still looked fierce! I am so happy with how our makeup turned out! Thank you, Marissa, for making us look & feel so beautiful on the big day!!! read more

Let me just start off my saying... I was forced to do my own hair and make up for my elopement because it was during the thick of the pandemic and I wasn't able to hire or work with anybody. On the day of my elopement, I was stressed and sweating and cussing up a storm. If you're on the fence about dropping that cash for some hair and make up on your special day -- splurge. Go with Maui Make Up Artistry. Get the full package if you can afford it. It'll not only help you feel at your most beautiful and best, but it'll also save you a ton of stress and headache by having amazing professionals who are experienced and know what they're doing. Anyways, after my husband and I eloped, we still wanted to have our "big wedding" to celebrate with our loved ones. I ended up doing a ton of research then decided to go with Liz and Anna. They were very communicative and great from the start. I was nervous because we were coming from San Francisco and doing a destination wedding in Maui, so I had no time fly over and test things out as much as I had hoped for. I just sent some inspiration photos over and had to trust that they'll get it right. Thankfully, they squeezed me in for a trial run a couple of days before the wedding. I still felt nervous because this didn't allow me any time to make any major changes should I wanted to go with someone else. Thankfully, Liz and Anna were the perfect people to help me and my sister in law for the special day. They knew exactly what to do for both me (Korean) and my sister in law (Chinese)! I went for a more glam and darker, smokier look while my sister in law went for a more natural and subtle glam look. They knew how to do Asian/East Asian make up for both of our Asian features and hair texture. They made both of our hair and make up BULLET PROOF as well. I was nervous about the humidity in Hawaii as both my and sister in law's hair don't hold curls well. Both of our hair and make up held up throughout the entire day. My husband had a pimple on the morning of the wedding! OH NO! Crisis averted. Anna said not to worry and she squeezed in a little touch up for my husband to conceal his little pimple friend. Phew! The cherry on top was how wonderful it was to work with both Liz and Anna. Complete professionalism while still being warm, funny, and so personable and supportive. We had so many great conversations which eased the nerves. They truly went above and beyond. I felt like royalty. I highly recommend working with Maui Make Up Artistry for any of your special occasions. I would trust them for all of life's special milestones. Thank you Liz and Anna!!! read more

I had Amber and Val do my hair and makeup for my Engagement photos back in February 2024 I was absolutely thrilled with my results that I knew I had to have them again for my wedding. Maui Makeup Artistry is an incredible team. I did a spray tan a few days prior to the wedding and loved it. The day of the wedding my bridesmaids, the moms and I all got our hair and makeup done. Liz and her team were so professional, talented and personable. All the ladies looked fabulous and I'm so grateful for how my bridal look turned out. I opted for glam waves and Amber made me feel like a Hollywood movie star. Liz did my trial and day-of makeup - it was the perfect blend of dewy/natural and glam. I loved it. I eloped in Maui on the beach on 6/22/22. Planning a wedding on an island when you live in CA is a challenge in itself. I had to put 100% of my trust into Maui Makeup Artistry because I couldn't have a trial session. From the moment I contacted them, the experience was amazing. Now let me highlight the stars of the show; Val and Lexi! Val did the most beautiful job on my makeup. She exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Lexi did exactly what I asked for on my hair. My hair usually becomes very frizzy when I'm near the ocean, and with Lexi's technique, my hair didn't budge at all. It held up perfectly! All of this to say, I highly recommend this company. They played a paramount role in my wedding day and I wish I could do it all over again with them, just to experience the bliss one more time. read more

Update: 10/18/2021 Liz the owner did reach out to me a few weeks before my wedding and apologized for the lack of customer service I received. Dana no longer works at their company and someone new has taken over her position. I completely understand when owners entrust their employees to do the right thing, but behind the scenes do not live up to the expectations. I really appreciated the fact Liz took time to reach out and explain the situation and of course tried to make things right. After speaking with her I ended up booking services with her two senior associates, Anna and Sarah. I guess because it was a somewhat last minute booking, they had prior appointments on the day of my wedding. Therefore Sarah and Anna were running a little late than the proposed time of 12:15pm. Sarah did my makeup, it definitely lasted all day although I felt like my face was melting off because of how hot it was on my wedding day and I had tears running down my face and it looked like I was freshly done. I was quite impressed when I went to clean off at 30mins before midnight. Hair: my mom and I had our hair done. Hers seem to have survived the night however mine was falling apart. My hair accessories came out following my photos on the beach. Maybe I moved too much? My veil wasn't put in prior to Anna leaving and then I ended up forgetting to put it on and didn't have it the entire wedding. A bit bummed about that. Anna did however help my bridesmaid pin up her hair which was appreciated, she definitely didn't have to do that. Overall the interaction and services were great. I suggest getting extra pins placed for hair accessories to stay put. Even the lighter ones! I had one heavier piece which luckily came with strong metal Bobby pins and Anna was able to use those to secure it. But my two small pins did not stay in my hair. Recommend them. Just make sure they have enough time to start your session and not rushing from another appointment. Being late or not in much hurry seems like the trend here in Maui. I've had several vendors take long to provide contracts or reply to emails. read more

My husband and I had the opportunity to wed in Maui this past January at Sugar Beach Events. They provided a list of their preferred vendors and I of course went with Maui Makeup Artistry. Liz and her team were fun to work with and felt like a girls-day-in. Haha!! Liz knew what I wanted and what colors worked best for my skin and worked with a healing and peeling sun burn from the week prior. I love highlighting my eyes and she did just that and more! I received multiple compliments on the airbrushed finish which was definitely the "icing" to my dress My theme was vintage Hawaii and I was trying to grow out my hair to achieve more style. We went with a Hollywood look complete with a white feather hibiscus flower. Perfect. My bridesmaids and mom also had their hair and make up done and I had them choose their own style but also have a feather hibiscus flower but in yellow. Beautiful. Thank you thank you for your time, service and professionalism. It was fun getting to know everyone while we glammed up. Um can we do it again?! read more

Maui makeup artistry was amazing to me, the bride, and to my bride tribe on my wedding day! I have nothing but amazing things to say about this group of ladies who glammed us. I had about five different artists on my wedding day who glammed me and my group of 13 ladies. The stylist were all on time and we're so amazing to talk to and they just made us feel so comfortable and so excited for our big day together! I had the honor of being glammed By Sarah, and given the most perfect bridal up do by Amber. Both of these ladies absolutely blew it out of the water for me. They Put my dream bridal look to real life. I had full trust in both of the ladies who glammed me that I did not have to worry that I wouldn't like my hair or make up. The fact that I did not have to worry about that was a dream come true- my hair was absolutely everything I dreamed of, Amber did everything I asked for. And then my make up was perfection. I told Sarah that I'm not huge and heavy into make up. I like more of a natural look, and that is exactly what she did. She did exactly what I asked of her from giving me natural lashes to just looking golden And bronzey. I cannot suggest these group of ladies anymore. They did everything you ask of them and were amazing and every single way. If you want to feel amazing on your wedding day, HIRE MAUI MAKEUP ARTISTRY. TRULY THR BEST!!!!! read more

I am a researcher. An avid review reader. I like to understand the experience the client had in partnering with the vendor. Boy, does the team at MMA have exquisite customer service. Liz and her team are genuinely GOOD PEOPLE and the MOST talented in the game. Dana (Beauty Coordinator, Spray Tan): Dana was our prime point of contact for booking and scheduling. She was prompt with her responses and super friendly. She arrived at our resort the day before for a spray tan. She was early, organized and efficient. More importantly, she was so fun and friendly. I've had some pretty "meh" spray tans in life, but Dana did an excellent job. No streaks and the color was perfect!! Amber (Hair Stylist): I had sent hair and makeup "inspo" prior to my big day, so Amber knew ahead of time what I had been looking for. I had had a horrible hair cut at my home salon prior to my arrival in Maui and was terrified my hair wouldn't turn out the way I had wanted. Amber was super sweet and calmed my nerves. She was FABULOUS. Did EXACTLY what I wanted without any issue! I could have cried I was so happy! Liz (Makeup Artist): Liz did a PHENOMENAL job. She is an artist, hands down. When the appt started we were total strangers and when she left we were friends. She is the utmost professional and an awesome businesswoman. She is just the best! read more

Liz and her amazing team came in to do all of my bridesmaids, some family members and my own hair and makeup on our wedding day - everyone chose their own hair style to suit their needs and had the same variation of makeup that complemented them best (we also did a trial for my rehearsal dinner!). Herself and the team are such great energy and really listened to the vision I had while I couldn't exactly voice it, we had the best time getting ready and everyone looked like movie stars. My mother and bonus mom were so happy with their looks - and the makeup did not feel cakey but stayed put throughout the sun baked ceremony and all night as we danced. Everyone looked like themselves, but the version that they wanted to see without looking off brand from each other - nothing heavy or fake at all and they only used products that made my very senstive skin feel great. Anna did my hair and she captured exactly the vision I had. Wedding Day: I had a team of 4 for my 5 bridesmaids, mom and mother-in-law, and myself- 2 on hair and 2 on makeup totaling about 5 hours. The girls came on time and they were quick! They brought their own high chair for the makeup and they knew exactly where to place everything for extra lighting, etc. I wanted a side bun for hair and they did a wonderful job. My hair is pretty thin so I was surprised how big they got the bun to be! It held well.. Even in the heat and humidity of Maui. I was able to jump and dance and the updo stayed where it should've. I wanted some framing in the front, which she forgot to do.. But did try to pull them out after the updo was done. She came back to set it before leaving, while I was doing my makeup. The makeup job was fantastic! I loved the eye shadow and liner and the individual lashes that were put on. I think both stylist grasps my ideal image and did a great job. They were both quick and listened to what the client wanted. They were also a good price for the competitive Maui market. They were the only company willing to negotiate pricing.. Liz and her lovely team, Amalie & Anna, did my makeup and hair on the day of my wedding, as well as for my mom and my four bridesmaids. Liz and her team (Anna, Shelby, and Sarah) did an amazing job with the bridal makeup and hair for my wedding!! They also did the makeup and hair styling for several members of my family. Ours was an Indian traditional wedding, which they took up as a challenge with excitement and did a phenomenal job with! We had a destination wedding in Maui and had to work out several logistics and time arrangements to meet our schedules. Liz was very proactive and professional in working all the details out with me personally. She also made a beauty schedule to ensure all of us were ready before time for the ceremony and allowed time for any last minute touch ups. From the beginning meeting to the discussion phone calls, then trials, and finally for all the wedding events, the entire team was punctual and very friendly. :) They made my wedding experience very positive and memorable! Liz and her team made sure I loved all the colors and hair styles which we decided during the trials, none of the colors and styles were repeated in any event, all the colors went well with each of my outfits and jewelry, it took a lot of coordination to put all the looks together! The team really put in their best efforts towards all the planning and execution. All our wedding photos came out awesome, and a great deal of credit goes to the makeup and hair detailing done by the MMA team. I'm forever thankful to the team for making my wedding so beautiful. :)) read more
