Our technician, Jordan, was incredibly professional and easy to work with. Instead of just "installing lights," he actually took the time to advise us on the best products and the exact spacing needed to make the rooms stand out. It made a huge difference in the final look. He showed up right on time and the communication throughout the project was spot on. We had a great experience with Eric, who did everything we needed done and even found ways to tap into existing wiring to save us money in the end. We needed a dedicated outlet for a second sump pump, some panel maintenance, and an exposed wire from an old hot tub installation. Eric walked me through everything he did, was clear and concise and friendly to boot! After we wrapped up, he even let me ask some questions about security lighting installation and doing can lights in another room. He didn't try and brush off answers to jobs he wasn't being paid to do (yet), but rather showed me what the possible solutions were and offered a rough estimate of costs. Very appreciated! After waiting for over a 1-1/2 weeks to hear back from them regarding an estimate I had to call myself and ask when I'd receive the numbers. A few days later the estimator called back saying he sent it. As it turned out, he typed in the incorrect email address. Ok, then had informed me it would take quite a long time to get his crew out to do my work. Ok, that now put me in a precarious spot timeline wise. I asked if they could slip in some abbreviated work (so my project could keep moving forward in a timely manner). Just a big blow off- the usual contractor bs. Fine, you don't want to do the project- at least be professional enough to follow up with your supposed emailed estimate to make sure your potential client received it or, as in this case, you f'd up the address. I lost power all day on 4th of July due to an issue in my home's wiring. I called ABC just after 8am on the 5th and the woman who answered the phone (Ann) was exceptionally sympathetic and helpful. She was able to arrange for Shawn, the owner, to be at my house by 9:15 that very day. Shawn got my power back up and running within 30 minutes (replaced a bad range breaker), a huge relief being that it was a 90+ degree day and I rely heavily on my electric fans to keep cool. (Not to mention lights - I like light!) Two days later, when we discovered that there was, in fact, a separate issue which was causing the circuit breakers to fail, Shawn offered to return to my house that very day (today) in order to identify and resolve the problem. He graciously traipsed across town in Friday afternoon traffic to do this, not charging me for this second visit. Service was above and beyond. I contacted ABC because I had a weird electrical fishy smell in one room and a few other electrical issues around the house. Michael showed on time. He discovered that the fishy smell did not come from an electrical problem. Michael went over the other problems around the house fixing them. He also took the time to explain to me when something just needed a new set up nor a repair. I really appreciated that Michael took the time to educate me about some electrical conceps I have no knowledge. All accoplished in one hour. Their rates are a little higher than other companies but they were able to send a technician the same day and Michael gave priceless peace of mind by addressing all my concerns. I'm writing this for my cousins Nick. These people came to his house after they were called about a bedroom that didn't have power and my cousins computer would not work, and he needed it up and running to do his taxes. Elections were in his attic, punched a hole in the wall and after 8 hours, he told my cousin they were leaving and the job wasn't done and they were past their time to work. They handed my cousin a bill for $800 and Nick paid them and they left! When Nick went upstairs HE FOUND HE HAD NO ELECTRICITY OF ALL OF HIS UPSTAIRS FLOOR!!! So all of this weekend of him calling them and leaving messages no one has called him. Nick is in poor health right now. Needs to get his taxes done by the 15th and all information is in his computer! THEY HAD BETTER BE BACK MONDAY MORNING TO FIX THIS PLACE OR I WILL CONTACT CONTRACTORS BOARD for leaving him high and dry! read more

We needed to do some minor repairs before putting our house on the market, and ABC Electric was one of the few companies that returned my call. Sadly, I couldn't be there while the electrician worked, but my dad was, and my dad was extremely impressed. One of the tasks was sinking a grounding rod, which turned out to be surprisingly difficult. If you've ever lived in Roseway, you know that the soil is extremely rocky, so the electrician had to labor a very long time to get the rod sunk, but he did so cheerfully and without complaint. He also fixed a broken outlet and installed a sconce, all for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. read more

So, I probably called 8 electricians. 4 never called back, 2 outright said no, 1 scheduled an appointment with me for 4 weeks out, but ABC Electric actually answered the phone and figured out a way to squeeze me in, in about a week. I needed a high voltage plug for an electric oven put out of commission, and needed a "regular" plug put in for new gas stove. While I wasn't there for the actually work, my partner was very happy with the experience. ABC Electric was amazing! I contacted 8 electrical companies, ABC was recommended by three of these who did not have appointments. Because ABC is a larger company, they had more availability. I had what was potentially an urgent need due to a transformer exploding in my neighborhood, which sent a surge through my house and fried my surge protectors burning my hardwood floors (this is how strong it was). It also wreaked havoc with my electrical panel. When I contacted ABC, Ann listened to my situation, immediately reached out to their electrician Michael, who resolved the issue within the same hour. I was having figuring out why the light switch in one of my bathroom is not working. I changed lights and reset with the breaker and still no power. I called ABC and I talked to a gentleman and he walked me through it and he managed to fix it over the phone. The office person said they charge $140 for the first hour - which starts ticking the minute they start driving from their last job to your house!!! WTF? Just to get a bid and talk to an electrician?? From there it goes to $100 an hour. And I haven't even talked with anyone about the project...Guess they don't need my business. read more

We were referred to ABC Electric from an inquiry sent out on a community message board. My husband made the appointment and, after reading these reviews, I had a sinking feeling in my stomach as soon as Randy showed up. My husband and Randy walked around our house discussing the work to be done. They came into my office and I stood up and pointed out the outlet we'd like to have changed, Randy walked in turned his back on me, and only acknowledged the conversation with my husband. It was completely bizarre - we're standing in this tiny room and I'm like a ghost just staring at Randy's back as he wholly ignored me. My father was an electrician, so I have a fairly good sense of basic electrical work - it's not like I was speaking nonsense (not that would have been an excuse for his behavior). Randy said he'd get a quote over....nothing ever showed up. He ghosted away from our potential job - can't say I'm too sorry. read more

Wish I would have read these reviews before agreeing to their work. My husband gave them a list of specifics that needed to be fixed before the sale of our home. They gave us a quote; we scheduled the repairs. The guy who came out had my husband work on the outside electrical and had me run to the store for supplies. We willingly did so. Work was done that day. They sent us a bill OVER the quoted amount. The "boss" called my husband and yelled at him when he had inquired about the excessive bill. We lost our power during the February 2021 ice storm. It took PGE 6 days to visit and tell us of the fixes needed before power could be restored. As an elderly person who was recovering from surgery, I could no longer go without heat so I left town to stay with my son. Called ABC Electric and explained my situation. They got someone out right away to assess what was needed (new Weatherhead, conduit, wiring and circuit breaker box). ABC was wonderful to work with. I advised I was out of town but they agreed to work with me remotely. They slid me into their next available slot (a week out). It took 2 days for Doug to do all the necessary work and once completed, Anne, at their office, contacted PGE, to have power restored, and Clackamas County for the necessary inspection. She also provided the necessary information to my insurance company for my claim. Once power was restored, I was able to return to my home. I will be forever grateful for ABC's help in my time of need. They will be my go-to-company for all future electrical needs. read more

Wow, if I had sent this company out to my real estate clients and Randy talked to them the way he just talked to me, I would be mortified. I had him come out for a bid on replacing kitchen fixtures. When I purchased the fixture it was flush in the store, but Randy decided he had to yell at me about how I was telling him how to do his job when I tried to explain that. Abc electric is great, and I didn't even hire them! I know next to nothing when it comes to electrical. I was using a drill on the basement and half the lights shut off. Checked the breaker box and the corresponding switch had not flipped. I called many local electricians to price shop and they told me they could fix it within one hour and it would cost between $120-$140. I then called Abc, the gentleman told me that it was most likely a GFCI. He then told me how to troubleshoot and easily replace it if necessary. I poked at a few buttons and fixed the problem! Next time I mess something up, these guys will get the call. read more

We've had ABC do work on our 120 year old house in the past while doing restoration projects. They often put light switches too close to doorways so that it interferes with the type of trim that's original to our house. However, we are selling our house & agreed as part of the sale to replace some old wiring in the basement. We hired ABC, paid the deposit & scheduled with plenty of time before closing. Well, they kept rescheduling until the day before signing. When they called to reschedule again I explained why we couldn't & the man (Randy, I believe) told me to hire someone else & hung up on me. ABC Electric has been doing electrical work in my building since early August. While the electrical repair work has been fine, to my knowledge, their customer service is something else. They showed up over a day late to do scheduled work, and they let my cat out of my unit, who is sick, and on medication, didn't try to catch him, didn't notify the property manager, or ANYONE, and left a passive-agressive note on my door about "no luck catching your cat." I called the number on the note and the man I spoke to, "Randy" was again, very passive aggressive, acting like it was my fault, telling me, "that he took garbage out and didn't shut the door and he just ran out," and telling me I should have locked my cat in my small, hot bathroom for 8+ hours while I was at work. They have been in the unit before, I have left notes before regarding the cat, and I have mentioned to other workers that there is a cat in my unit, multiple times. Apparently they just don't care. My cat is still missing too. I can't even believe this. read more

As luck would have it, we came home from the Thanksgiving weekend to a burning smell coming from our furnace. After three days we were able to get an HVAC technician out to look at the unit and he informed us we actually had an electrical problem and needed an electrician. We began calling various shops in town who informed us they were booked as much as 1 - 2 weeks out. Telling them we couldn't use our furnace only prompted replies of "yeah, we have a lot of people without heat right now". Did I mention it's the coldest week of the year? Finally I called ABC Electric. They were polite and squeezed us into their schedule, sending someone out same day. Randy arrived right when he said he would, had the parts on hand, and had us back up and running within an hour. Needless to say I'm calling them again for any future electrical needs.
