I'll start by saying that this can easily be called an "experience." Becoming a bartender is only a small part of what this program is really about. I've never paid so little and received so much in return. I believe this class is for people of all ages. Even if you're already a bartender, I think the 32 hours of training are well worth it. If you've ever wanted to become a bartender, this class will put you well above other candidates applying for bartending jobs. If you're single and simply looking to meet new people, this is a great opportunity. For me, it was a wonderful bonding experience and a chance to make new friends. If you're married or part of a couple, whether you're looking for employment or not, you'll become much more knowledgeable about what to serve guests at home, parties, and special events. If you're still figuring out what you want to do as a career, this class offers much more than bartending skills. You'll learn valuable interviewing techniques and professional skills that can help you pursue almost any job. If you already have a favorite drink that you order at restaurants, prepare to expand your horizons. You'll discover drinks you never knew existed and learn which cocktails pair best with different meals. I'm also speaking to anyone investing money in higher education, whether that's college, trade school, or career training. The relatively small cost of this class can easily pay dividends if it helps you land a job at one of the thousands of establishments throughout the Valley that serve highly profitable alcohol. Think you don't have the time? They offer weekday, weeknight, and weekend classes. Even better, the cost includes your Arizona Food Handler's Card and Arizona Title 4 Certification to serve alcohol. Just as earning an Eagle Scout rank or a college degree can open doors, so can bartender certification. The classes are intentionally small--around 10 students or fewer--which means you receive plenty of one-on-one attention from the instructor. My instructor was Greg. He shared incredible stories, was extremely encouraging, remarkably patient, and genuinely determined to help every student succeed and pass the course. I truly don't believe there's a better value anywhere when it comes to education, training, or life experiences than ABC Bartending School. And honestly, this review is only what comes to mind off the top of my head. I've left out so much more. Highly recommended. read more

I had gotten this bartending class as a gift through a friend. Didn't know what to expect. First off Greg the bartending instructor is amazing! And thank you John for getting back to me! I got to say Greg Definitely one of the best teachers out there.! After I graduated by spruced up my résumé went to a local bar. As I was talking with the bartender he had told me that he also has graduated from the ABC bartending school. As I was telling him that I'm starting to look for my first gig he had replied that he will be putting in his two week notice and to come by tomorrow with the résumé. When I came by he took my résumé Gave a good word for me and placed my résumé on top of everyone else's resume. The bar had called back two days later wanting an interview with me, needless to say I got the job and I love it there! Talk about the right place at the right time! Greg and John thank you for an amazing experience! read more

Honestly I learned so much here and now feel super comfortable applying for any bartending position. ASHLEY was my class teacher and she was amazing, very informative and was constantly pushing us to our best which made for an easy testing at the end! Goodluck! this is a fun time for a brighter future read more

I had a lot of people in my class that wanted to try this on as maybe a side job. I was one of those people. My instructor was very tough loving. He was very informative and a pro in the business, so I felt comfortable under his care. I wish the class size were smaller though - towards the end, it got really competitive between the students. I'm glad the program is done. It's a LOT to cram in for a weekend class and not every drink was taught. No hot drinks from the book and no mention of Moscow Mules. I'm not perusing the career, I felt overwhelmed by the end and frankly, a little "barred out". This is a good school for anyone truly wanting to get a job in a bar although most of my bartender friends told me they got hired at their bars without any prior Bartending experience and they learned on the job. At least I made a fun hobby out of my experience at ABC. read more

The instructors are very kind and knowledgeable. Duke, Jeff and Maurice are joys to be around and will work with you to make sure you get to where you need to be. The students are all kind and the overall environment is very welcoming to even a novice like me! An excellent school to attend! read more

Knowledgeable instructors- fun learning environment! Greg effectively taught and helped our class. Every person in our class passed their final, and we had fun doing it! Denise was extremely accommodating with my schedule and made sure to get me signed up for the Title 4 class. I got hired the day I received my certification as a server as well. Thank you ABC for a wonderful experience! read more

Absolutely love this place and their whole staff! I did the fast track course, so basically I took 40 hours of coursework in a week. The course was great, even at the pace I was going, and goes over the basics like free pouring, basic drinks, beer and wine. They provide job leads, so after you graduate they give you a heads up of bars hiring in the area and because I did well on my practical and written test they wrote me a letter of recommendation as well. Joey and Cosmo will bend over backwards to make sure you grasp the material and land a job. I wouldn't recommend anyone else! read more

Got a ticket. Bummer. Took a class to make it go away, bummer again. About $250 when all was said and done but still have my license intact and now have the ability to spot those cameras around town...I will say this...I learned a lot. About driving safety and risk factors that we just kind of forget to think about in our hectic lives. I am truly a better driver thanks to this course. Highly recommend if you get the dreaded flash in your rearview mirror... read more

Do not go to ANY other bartending school in Arizona besides ABC bartending school! You not only receive the best training in the country, but you have a school for life that will always let you come practice when needed. The instructors Daniel and Greg will continue to mentor you as needed even after you graduate and that is worth the money in itself. When I went through the class they had employers showing up offering us jobs and it was our first day in class, which tells you a lot about their reputation. They also have private party events that you can work if you don't want to quit your day job. The atmosphere is very relaxed and they play music during the training to make it feel more like a bar. I highly recommend this school. Other schools might have good ratings, but none of them will treat you like your part of the family like ABC does! read more

I would recommend this school to anyone & everyone! Greg was the most kind hearted professional I've come across. He always answered all of my questions, never sugar coated shit and kept it real. I'm very thankful I stumbled into this place one day and ended up achieving my license and title 4 here, I received 100% and got to take home a recommendation letter. I did the 40 hr course within about two weeks. It was such a positive learning experience for me and I'm very happy with my decision. I get to open a new chapter with confidence and high hopes for my bartending future. Thanks so much Greg, you are the best and don't ever forget it. read more

ABC bartending school was a great experience. The instructor (Michele) made the class fun and informative. This is a dramatic career change and the (40) hour course helped greatly with confidence. This is not just a school. This is a tool for life! The staff is amazing, the curriculum is easy to understand and taught in fun and practical ways. I first attended the school in 2008 where I received my first certification and then my state liquor license and received job opportunities immediately! After going back into the Corporate world for a few years, I was quickly welcomed back to ABC Bartending School for a refresher course and on-site practice time to renew my skills and knowledge. The second time around not only helped me come up to speed quickly with new drink recipes, provided 'behind the bar' hands on experience again, but also renewed my confidence and love for the hospitality industry. The instructors and staff are knowledgeable, professional and eager to assist in the success of their students. I will continue to utilize this school as my life tool as I grow to be the best bartender I can be. read more

From the moment I walked into this place I felt welcome. The staff was super friendly and the instructors were very good as well. After the first day they knew me by first name basis. I learned a lot from each and everyone of the instructors, they all had their own different teaching methods with helped me understand things better and the classes never got boring. Most of the classes were hands on, which I enjoyed because it gets you ready for the real thing. I like the fact that you can practice pretty much when ever you want, even after you take the final. The bar leads you get weekly are updated each and every week and always on time. The place was always really clean!! I would recommend this school to anyone! I am glad I chose this school! read more

At first I was a bit skeptical about how much I would learn from a bartending school, but after the first day of class I was at ease! The class room is set up like a real bar complete with ice machines, soda guns, etc. The instructors are very professional and knowledgeable. They make class fun and interesting while teaching a wide variety of cocktails, shooters, and many other drinks. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend! read more

dont waste your time with the poker school . i called ahead and was was told by the instructor " cosmo " that he would be there untill 5 o'clock if i wanted to come check it out . i drove across town and showed up at 4 pm . no one was there and the bartender instructor came over and was quite rude when i asked if anyone was there for the poker class but that pale's in comparison to the rudeness of " cosmo " when i called him from the school and he said quote " i never said that i would be there , i said that the school would be there and if i wanted to wait 45 minutes that he would come back " and then i told him how unprofessional that i had been treated and he said oh well . read more

This place is exactly what I was looking for. The course does require quite a bit of memorization to pass but I'd rather be doing the memorizing in a relaxed and understanding environment than on the job. You learn martinis, cream drinks, sours, shooters, etc. They also teach you about the general tools and how to use them as well as different techniques. I've seen people write that you don't need bartending school to find a job which is technically true. However, you spill and fumble A LOT in the beginning and, again, I would hate to be learning all that on the job. Daniel is the weekend teacher and he's awesome. He's got a great sense of humor which makes the day go by fast and he's got a lot of experience so he shares tips and memories you can't get from a book. The only reason I'm not giving four stars is for cleanliness. They practice with colored water which means the bottles are filled up and reused. Almost everything you work with has mold on it. The sinks, store n pours, everything. And a lot of the metal stuff has rust which is also a health/safety concern. I am a germaphobe so I notice things like this! Other than that, the place is awesome. read more

I had went into ABC Bartending in February 2013, I talked to Cosmo the owner. He made me super excited to start and to learn. However I had told him that I had started a new job and my hours might be changing for me so I might have to change what class I attend or I would have to postpone the classes. He told me no problem just let us know when it happens. My hours changed and I called them just like I was told to do. I told the woman who answered the phone that I will call back in May. She said "ok no problem I will note it on your paperwork and just let us know when you can start classes again". I called back in May and was told that because the lady who took my previous call 3 months ago didn't put the notes on my paper work, that I could not continue classes. She also stated that the employee who took my phone call a few months ago was fired because she was insubordinate. It's not my fault she did not do what she was supposed to. I did my part and let them know when I would call back to start classes. So now I am out about $300 and only took one class. I understand that on the contract there was a time limit to finish but the owner should have never told me no problem if I needed to hold off on it. read more

i took all three classes a little expensive when i took it now it's a little on the cheap side i will say this though they need to improve in job placement it took me a lot of hard work to get when i got cause i didn't even start in foh i had to start as a dish washer. and moved my way up now i am happier then ever all in all though this place is very awesome. read more
