This review is long over due, Chef Chris provided catering for a Celebration of Life service 2 years ago and did a fantastic job. Chef Chris was so helpful, not only was it a last minute request, but we also didn't know exactly how many people would be attending the service. He guided us on menu choices that would work well for the event within our budget. The day of the event, Chef Chris arrived on time and him and his amazing staff set everything up. We researched quite a few catering companies for our wedding on December 1, 2019. We chose Arizona Catering for many reasons. Unbeknownst to us, he catered a wedding we attended a month before our wedding. We loved the food but did not know who the company was. When we met with Chef Chris we mentioned we went to a wedding the previous Saturday and how amazing the food was, he asked where the venue was and it turned out to be the same wedding he catered! So funny! I knew this was meant to be!! What a small world! Let me just say, Chef Chris made our wedding day extraordinary! We went above and beyond and very accommodating. His food was amazing and authentic. We did an Italian theme and everyone at the wedding was asking who the catering company was. There was plenty of food! He and his staff were on time and very attentive. The display was beautifully set and all the food remained hot! I highly recommend Arizona Event Catering. From the moment we met Chef Chris, it was clear he absolutely loves his job and is passionate about food. He came to our apartment with samples of the dinner we were considering for our wedding so we could try it first, and we loved it! He had great recommendations and talked through the whole menu with us. His warm demeanor and professionalism made us feel comfortable and we knew our wedding dinner was safe in his hands. We received many compliments about the food from our guests the night of the wedding as well. In addition to being remarkably talented, Chef Chris is an outstanding person. My mother was sick in the hospital and unable to attend our wedding. We asked Chef Chris to set aside a plate of food for her for a cousin to bring to her later, but he went above and beyond. Chef Chris personally delivered the dinner to her in the hospital so she could eat the same meal at the same time as us. We will forever be grateful for his kindness. read more

We hired Chef Chris to cater our wedding 2/2/19. We wanted an Italian theme and when he came to our house for us to try the food we could tell the flavors were different and fresh ingredients were used. We weren't sure which appetizers would be a good fit (since pasta is such a heavy meal), but Chef Chris used his Italian background to help us create a wonderful menu for our guests. We are still getting compliments on it! He personally served us our plates at our wedding and made us feel extremely special. Not to mention there were plenty of leftovers for us to take home ;). Our office hosted an event last month and we chose Arizona Event Catering for the food and drinks. I looked into a couple different caterers and none had the flexibility as Arizona Event Catering did! Not a single detail was out of place right down to the day of the event. Everything went smoothly. The food (albeit just a fruit, vegetable, cheese tray with crackers and dips) were kept stocked and he tastefully did the dip "bowls" in pumpkins cut in half to match our Fall Reception. There were plenty of drinks available too. Staff were pleasant and professional. Chef Chris was great to work with. The difference between these guys and the competitors was that Chef Chris's excitement and joy to work with us. I could tell that he really likes his job. He had a great attitude towards wanting to do this for us and we were not let down. I will definitely recommend Arizona Event Catering! read more

I hired this company for my daughter's wedding. I was told how experienced and professional that they were and how leave it to them, they had so much experience that they didn't even want to answer questions from my father, or myself as things were going wrong, and Chris was even rude to us. I told Chris that as I was doing this by myself, it was important that it was full service. He told me that he could do so, so I hired him. He got there late, very shortly before the wedding, in which he was supposed to be there on time to put the drinks on ice, told me as I was upset about it that he was the one with experience. The drinks were warm and although I paid for it, there was not enough ice or containers to chill the drinks. I paid for infused water, he filled the water from my tap!!!! The champagne was served hot!!! And as that was done, on my wood floor, mind you, he created a flooded floor. Thank goodness my friends were there to clean up his mess. The pasta tasted fine, but when my 82 year old mother asked for 2 sauces, she was told that she couldn't have it!!!! I paid plenty for pasta, which is very cheap to make, and they turned my little Mom's request down!?!? When the guests were done with their dinners, they sat with dirty plates for so long that I had to find Chris to ask him to remove them, and then they took them TO MY KITCHEN to clean them and AGAIN a flooded floor!!! It was a mess but my friends came in from the wedding to fix his problem! When it was close to being over, he left a couple of girls there, we didn't know that he left, his help was very unhappy about it. The left my garden hose on, it has a special built in sprinkler, it ruptured in the night, flooded my pavers, broke my hose and all he could say was buy another and send him the bill!!! The table rental place that he worked with came 2 days later to pick things up and they also were upset! They told me that he was supposed to have broke it all down, and he didn't. I was left cleaning up all of his trash, ice bags and other trash. I would NEVER recommend this company and a few days later I am still working on the problems he left me.....it's a big fat NO in recommending him!!! read more

Chef Chris has done two major events for our families: my daughter's sweet 16 party ( 80 + guests ) and my sister's surprise party ( 20 guests ) and he did a fabulous job. Both parties, our guests complimented on how wonderful all the food looks and of course tasted great. Also The prime rib was just perfect. Ask him to sing an Acopella Birthday song for you, and He will impress you with his voce ! He is multi talented. He also has a great staff. Arianna was a great bartender in our party too. My wife and I hired Arizona Event Catering for our wedding reception. We had 200 guests and some special needs. My wife is a research queen so in evaluating many catering companies, we chose AZ Event Catering because of several variables. The first thing we noticed was how responsive they were. Chef Chris would get back to us immediately and practiced thorough communication providing us with what we needed faster than we expected. He was consultative in his approach, positive, upbeat, and very helpful. When trying the food, he presented several very good options based on our budget needs and had excellent, thoughtful recommendations on presentation and food that would offer variety to satisfy most taste buds and guests' diverse preferences. We had vegetarians, guests allergic to Gluten, and other types of issues to accommodate. The food was excellent! We had a couple of guests with very strict dietary restrictions and Chef Chris was kind enough to go completely out of his way to prepare special meals for 2 of our guests. The day of our wedding reception, their presentation was professional and elegant, the staff provided friendly service, and they were on schedule for everything! We even had a special treat for our guests near the end of the night - we asked Chef Chris to make Mac & Cheese to serve as a late-night snack. I kid you not - it is the best Mac & Cheese I've ever had - I still order Mac & Cheese at restaurants occasionally when I have a craving and nothing compares! They also provided the Hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour, bartender service for cocktail and reception through their Portable Pubs business, and handled all the linens, utensils, etc. and provided a coffee station for us. We loved having only one vendor do everything! It made things so much simpler and convenient for us. They are a one-stop shop and even offer cakes now! All of this great food and service was at an extremely reasonable price offering tremendous value! As a professional DJ that has performed at many weddings, my perspective is a bit more informed than most simply because I've seen many vendors. I also know the work that goes on behind the scenes and my wife and I were so impressed, we made it a point to take a moment during our reception to get on the microphone and have everyone applaud AZ Event Catering for bending over backwards for us. I have recommended them ever since and continue to do so. Book them - you will be happy you did! read more

Chris is amazing. I worked with him for two years when planning the survivor banquet for ASU's Relay for Life. Every time he donated without hesitation, created an entire menu for free, and stayed to serve and converse with our survivors (even when we came to him last minute the second year) Not only did he donate TONS of food, but the food was glorious and he was so willing to change his menu to suit our needs even though we weren't paying him. At the time of our event, we also realized we needed some extra items we didn't come prepared with, I called Chris and he let me borrow anything I needed of his for the banquet and stayed at his location after hours for me to drop it off. Chris has been such a blessing to ASU's Relay for Life and all the survivors that attended. read more

Choosing AZ Event Catering and Chef Chris to cater our wedding at Whispering Tree Ranch was easily one of the best decisions we made. SO easy to work with and the food was raved about! The Green Apple & Brie with a fig jam spread was out of the world to die for! The sirloin skewers were cooked to perfection. The chicken was just as delicious as the first day I tried it! We wish we could eat their food every week! Chris and his tea really helped everything run smoothly throughout our wedding day, and we couldn't be more grateful for him and his amazing staff! Chris was great in suggesting what to have at the bar to serve our guests. I suggested to him that we would have so many people that I was thinking of renting a port-a-potty for our party. He said he did not offer that service but he went right out and found some companies for me to call with pricing, phone #'s and various different options in that area! Chef Chris and Colleen from AZ Event Catering were awesome to work with. My husband and I tasted several caterers food and hands down loved this place the most. They were a bit more expensive than some of the competitors BUT the money was well worth the amazing food and service. Colleen was so great to work with for the planning details and Chef Chris was so personable and flexible with the menu, even coming up with creative new ways to serve our dishes. Everyone at the wedding commented how great the food was. Chis was feeding our guests even before the reception started. My 12 year old nephew was helping set up the wedding site and Chris offered him a snack and to a friend that was in the kitchen heating up something for her baby. My family hired Arizona Event Catering, after meeting personally with Chef Chris, for the funeral reception of my Father. This was an exceptionally emotional time (late February 2017) for our family and Arizona Event Catering failed miserably at a time when failure should never have been an option. Promises were made and not kept. The food that was delivered was only partially complete from that which was promised and paid for. And of what was delivered, it was delivered in pieces that had to be put together by the guests at the reception themselves. Chef Chris personally blamed other companies he'd hired who didn't come through for him - and it is my personal opinion that this was not our responsibility - it was his. We hired him and his company. We have tried to work with Chef Chris to figure out how to handle the disaster he made out of the funeral reception and he has been difficult if not impossible to get a hold of, his first offer of compensation was to give our family a gift certificate for additional service from him at another family event, and subsequently to write us a check which has never been received and now phone calls are never returned. I just want to publicly say - SERIOUSLY!!! You think after being so embarrassed at a funeral reception that we would ever trust to use Chef Chris or his company again even if it was for free? Give me a break. I highly recommend you search elsewhere for your catering needs. read more
