Came for some ice cream with a friend at night for their birthday and really enjoyed it. Abbotts is the best for custard and this location did not disappoint. had a great sundae and all of my friends enjoyed their ice cream choices as well. We were the only people there and I do have to say the lighting here at night makes you feel like you are in a horror movie so I would not recommend coming after the sun comes down. I came in with friends for ice cream and got a small dish with a cone on top. It was super yummy and refreshing after a day out with friends. The store itself is not my favorite with only outdoor seating that is pretty uncomfortable. The ice cream was worth it though! I love Abbott's! I've been coming to Abbott's since I was little. I've never been to this location before, but the is definitely my new favorite! They had a huuuuuge menu of flavors I've never seen at other ones and the line was super quick. Strawberry is my favorite flavor and I've never seen it before at other locations so obviously I had to get it here and it did not disappoint! 11/10 recommend and will be coming back here! read more

I love Abbott's custard, in fact I have never met anyone who did not. So, why 2 stars?? My husband and I are former Webster residents and the Abbot's on Empire Blvd. in Webster became our favorite place for a treat, to take kids on birthday's and it just added a lot of pleasure to our lives. This afternoon we were visiting relatives in the area and purposely stopped at Abbott's in Webster. I ordered a banana split with nuts. Normally, my husband and I share one. There was very little custard, maybe a third of what we historically had. Ordered nuts, none. The whipped cream was droopy and the entire split just looked sad. Of course, I ate it but I was so disappointed. For $8.95, I felt cheated. Seems like the prices have risen and the portions have shrunk. I did complain and the person who made my sundae said " I can give you a little cup of peanuts" read more

If you want custard you have to go to Abbott's. Not only to they make the traditional vanilla and chocolate custard , but they also have many other flavors such as banana and mudslide. They also have a wide variety of low fat frozen yogurt. Try the Irish creme! They will let you sample different ones too. This location is on the corner, so its easy to access, with lots of parking...but like all locations during peak hours ans beautiful nights be prepared to wait in line. read more

I stopped here on a hot day for some ice cream. The line moved pretty quickly. They had vanilla peanut butter cup, which I decided to try. I guess it's because it's custard, but it was literally vanilla custard with some Reese's peanut butter cups thrown in. It seemed more like a sundae with peanut butter cup topping than an ice cream flavor to me, and just wasn't what I expected. It was fine, but a small dish of ice cream for $4.25 seems pricey to me. I think there are better places to go where you can get a sundae for about a dollar more, so I don't think I'll be back. read more

Ah Abbott's a Rochester tradition. They've got some fantastic ice cream at this place and a nice variety to choose from as well. I was sad I didn't get one of their signature plastic spoons on my most recent visit but that's okay. They've got good prices and yummy home made soft serve, and I always try to visit an Abbott's whenever I make it out to Rochester if I'm in the mood for ice cream. Amazing! I go here like every other day when I'm in town! The custard is to die for. My favorite is vanilla custard dipped in rainbow sprinkles. I've been eating this at Abbott's since I was a little girl. If you are from Rochester you don't need to read reviews. You probably already love this place. If you are new to Rochester go check it out during the warm seasons. They close up shop during winter months. Get one of their famous turtles which is basically frozen custard on a stick with caramel nuts and chocolate. Their ice cream Sundays are also great. Wow. Horrible horrible customer experience!!! I was so excited to come here for a simple Sunday... And it was the worst experience ever. The young girl working behind the counter, built me the messiest Sunday and handed this thing to me... And, unaware of the one side being completely covered in dripping hot fudge and caramel and peanuts, I set it down inside my car. I ended up making the biggest mess as this thing fell apart and dripped all over my center cup holder area...seriously? Why would she hand this to me like this? That was a complete dumbass thing to do...or worse...someone who clearly just doesn't give a shit. I didn't get a new one made and I'm now out $6.50 plus a two dollar tip. I should have asked for my money back but I was so upset... I just put the thing back on the counter wiped off my hands wiped off the inside of my car, and left. I feel like if I would've even complained to that young girl... She would have simply just looked at me, all glassy eyed, and done nothing. Additionally, I saw the young boy scraping ice cream off the counter with a spatula and feeding it down into the frozen catch area where the fresh ice cream was being made. I'm not sure this is one of the most cleanest ways to make ice cream... I know these places are really good... But I'm not sure that this place is run very efficiently. Your standard Abbott's Frozen Custard, which is out of this world. The vanilla (and chocolate) custards are fantastic, and must gets at any Abbott's you go to. This walk up store was in a 1960s style slanted front style bullying, with very retro theming. Very cool. However, they seemed to give a smaller portion for the same price than other Abbott's that I've been to in the area. This could've been the servers dishing out the custard tonight, but I would be wary if you want to get more custard for your buck. Can't go wrong with Abbott's though! read more

My wife and I typically get a small portion (Kiddie Cup size). Last night (June 2020) the cost for two of these servings was $4.25 each, or $9 for two small portions, and confirmed by the young man when I asked a second time. This is up almost $1 per cup from the prior year. I can't speak to the other sizes' pricing. You can spend your money more wisely by simply buying a half gallon of ice cream like Perry's for about the same price as one Abbott's kiddie cup now at the local supermarket. read more

I went to Abbott's on Empire Blvd in Webster tonight to get my husband a banana boat and two pints of ice cream. I was told they didn't have either pint of ice cream flavors listed on their board. I tried ordering another flavor and they didn't have that either. Then I was given the "boat" in a styrofoam container. When I picked up the container it was light as air....so I opened it. It was a joke. Ice cream was smeared in the bottom...not scooped. The entire thing was about a 1/2 inch high. $7.25cents forTHIS? I asked. Visited on Sunday before the July 4th holiday at 8:30 pm. Lots of customers, so I thought it would be great. NOT! I ordered a small dish of ice cream with peanut butter sauce. Had to get to the very bottom of the dish to find 1/2 teaspoon of the sauce. The store was filthy. As the boys were filling orders for the chocolate and vanilla ice cream, a girl came from the back of the store with a mop and plopped it into the sink right between the ice cream machines. The floor was a mess. The counter was sticky. The six workers all huddled together and tried to get out of helping the customers. The boy that filled my other item of a root beer float didn't give me a straw and the suds from the root beer was spilling over the glass. It contained about 1/2 cup of ice cream. For the price they charge for the ice cream you would expect to get at least enough to eat. Too dirty, bad service, and lacking in amounts given. Train these workers on how to serve efficiently.
