Fast, reliable and worthy service. I had an oil change to my car today. I was served as soon as I showed up there even without appointment.

People are very honest. I have found them by yelp reviews and what a surprise.... He asked me to come back later as it still had 1000 miles to next oil change. Also on break pads.. he said they have almost 40% left... Labor is not cheap ($80/hr) but service is good and overall cheaper as parts used are from secondary manufacturers. I guess you can ask for original parts but may cost you more. I live 20 miles away but drive to Abbott every time I need something to look in to. read more

Took my car in for a transmission fluid change after dealer said it has to be done immediately. Guys at Abbott check and tell me I can drive another 10-15k, no problem, 'save your money'. Given my car for servicing and something happened to windshield wipers and they're now moving at same speed even if I change the speed. I am not able to drive the car if there is a heavy rain as I can't increase my wiper speed. I contacted them and they said they can't fix it and they're not responsible for it. When I asked for their boss, he said he's on leave for 2 weeks. Very unprofessional behaviour. I don't recommend them. read more

I am from out of town but if I lived here this is the only place I would take my car! I had a flat tire, Firestone told me I had to replace it with 2 new tires at least. I used Yelp to find a second opinion and because of the reviews I called Abbott Auto Service. When I called they told me they would fix my tire within 15 minutes if it was not a sidewall problem. When I arrived they looked quite busy but were true to their word and fixed my flat in record time. Instead of buying two tires I paid $15 for a plug. Great and prompt service. Don't let the shop appearance fool you. May not seem like a lot but rates are reasonable and the guys are friendly and honest. They even allowed me to bring in my own parts and just charged me for the labor (most places won't do that). Parking can be a little challenging so probably bring someone with you. read more

What a great place! I had issues trying to get rotors and pads installed at other shops. These guys gave me a great price and when we discovered that the online retailer sent me the wrong rotors (my parking brake wouldn't work) they swapped the correct ones a week later for free!! I stopped into this auto shop to get a quote for a brake pad replaced and as my car still parked on the other side of the lot a mechanic tells me my rotors need to be replaced. I reply the rotors aren't damaged I just need brake pads. His reply was "your rotors can not be resurfaced so you need new rotors. My response is you haven't even looked at the car... You can't even tell me the color of the car but you know I need new rotors. He says if you don't trust me then go and do it yourself and walks back to finish his lunch. This place may have given quality service at one point in time but in 2015 they only try to rip off the mindless and unknowing. read more

Im a poor student and mother of 3 and not once have I gone there and thought I would get ripped off .....They replaced my tranny after the seller of the car told me it was fine and broke down on me on the freeway.....I had AAA tow it to them after being quoted prices from $2100 from major shops and only as low as $1900 from mom an pop shops But Abbot Auto fixed it for me for $1300.... I have been going to this place for a long time and always liked it. But, now I have started feeling that the owner is getting a bit antsy. He doesn't come to the shop much and his guys don't understand things. His rates used to be good but now he tried to charge more and more and the quality has gone down. After my last service visit, I brought my car back and noticed next day that my carport was all stained due to oil leak. I had to take the car back again to get it fixed. Abbott is my favorite place for all car needs! Are you not a car expert and worrying about getting fooled in the service? Just goto this guy, I am sure he always gave me correct quote (I can't find anyone to beat it in Milpitas/Fremont). Thoi the expert I call, in one incident he fixed my car for $0 (in 10 mins) where the other guys were quoting for $600!!! They are very helpful and understanding. The workers generally don't talk to the car owners as they are not good in English (they all Vietnamese). I always used their service for everything and no complaints, they charge $25 for oil change. They just tell you want the car needs to work fine, so you end up paying only that nothing extra! Thoi is very honest person fortunately he is mechanic, Its really hard to find a mechanic like him atleast in the same area!!! Finally leave the car and no worry about it. read more

We got the information from yelp. So we decided to write this review, then other people could find him. Our honda got engine light on when I was driving. But everything worked just fine. We called several auto service and they would charge over $100 just to do the check. We went to Abbott auto service. He doesn't charge money on the check.But only charged us for his labor and the part that replaced. I only paid $120 on his labor and $30 for the parts. He also did 20 miles test drive to make sure the car's all right. My car is 2009, so the part of 2009 wouldn't be easy to find and would cost double the money, He is really thoughtful to find the part of 2010 and saved us the money. Look at his wall, he's been voted Milpitas best since 2008, we'll vote him for the best in 2015 definitely.Choose him, he's an honorable man. read more

I am going to this place for more than two years now. till now i gone to them 4 times, once for a major work and three times for just indications and after 2 years this is first time i am writing about them. I am not a automobile expert so dont know much about technical things but whatever knowledge i have, i can say they saved atleast 15-20%. Excellent! Honest; reasonable prices. My favorite thing about Thoi Pham, the manager, is that he is really good about saying what really needs to be fixed and what can wait. I had another mechanic give me a long list of repairs that my van needed. Thoi looked at my whole list and then checked out the car. He crossed off about half of the list, saying they really weren't a problem. He told me the safety issues (brakes and radiator) and suggested they should be fixed right away. Though the other mechanic said that my serpentine belt was cracked and needed replacement, Thoi said I still had at least 6 mos left on it and that I could postpone that repair if I wanted. Money being an issue I did postpone it several months -- he charged $90 to replace it. Today I came by since the car had been making a noise so that he could listen to it and then schedule me for next week. He not only listened to it but checked the diagnostic code and then took it for a test drive. Turned out it just needed new wires -- what a relief as I thought it might be the transmission! Anyhow -- I highly recommend this shop! read more

I called Abbott on Saturday - 10/17 to inquire about battery positive terminal replacement for my 2000 Subaru outback. The same week only new battery was installed in my car by another mechanic shop. This mechanic warned me to replace the entire cable at the earliest as there was lot of corrosion. He gave me a quote of $192 for entire cable change. I was not ready for that and wanted to get second opinion. But the next day itself my car didn't start. I called AAA to check the car starting problem. AAA guy said battery cable is good, i need to replace only the positive terminal not the entire cable. I called my old mechanic and asked him the quote he said they don't do terminal replacement, they only change the entire cable( just to make more money from the customer). This is when i found Abbott in yelp, thanks to yelp and great reviews about Abbott. I called Abbott around 1 p.m. on Saturday and explained the problem to the front desk person, after couple of minutes she said the total cost for this work is $20 !!!! She also said they can't do it on Saturday because they already have lot of work to finish, they can fix the issue only on Monday. After sometime i called her again and told her that i will drop my car at their location today itself so that they can work on Monday morning as a first thing. I also mentioned that i have to go to work on Monday after the fix. She put me on hold and was checking with someone, may be the owner. To my surprise she mentioned because of parking constraint they cant keep my vehicle in their parking area, if i can bring in my car around 4p.m. they can can fix it on the same day itself. I was so happy, my roommate and I called AAA for towing service, he came and did some temporary fix so that we can drive and take it to the shop. But my car stopped in between in the middle of our apartment parking garage. Again i called Abbott and told her the problem, then she said if i reach there around 5 p.m. they can fix it. Somehow we were able to reach around 4.45 p.m. Front desk lady asked us to wait for 20 minutes, exactly after 20 minutes, i believe the owner came and checked my car. He confirmed that it requires only terminal change. Another mechanic came and replaced the positive terminal and all set to drive back home in next 5 to 10 minutes. They are really very considerate and very honest in giving quote. Finally i found a trustworthy place for my car repair and maintenance. They are really awesome!!!! read more
