Pulled into the parking lot just after closing time after overheating on the highway. Tom was quick to respond via phone, then diagnose, then get the problem fixed. He was upfront with the prices and was very responsive to phone calls for updates. Price was quite reasonable and he offered to have me come back in a few days just to check up on the car. It did seem pretty busy in the morning and is a very small place, so it might pay to be early or call ahead. read more

I can't recommend this auto repair shop highly enough. My car was making weird noises and came to Tom Auto Care to check out what the issue was. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with respect and professionalism. Tom told me it was a loose serpentine belt and failing alternator which was affecting my battery and engine health performance. Within hours he was able to tighten the belt and replace the alternator. My car was running like new again after and I am truly satisfied of the service I received. I used to come here a lot for tire vulcanization, before they only used to charge $15. Their prices exponentially increased to what I am now finding out that it's $30 but another worker said $20 so its very confusing to how they're all saying different prices. I had another sevice done and called over the phone for tire rotation and they said $30. Tom has always been good about not selling us repairs we dont need even if we expected to need them. They lack a proper waiting area, but I would rather have that than be ripped-off. Wow I am super impressed. Tom was able to repair my tire that had a nail in it within less than 10 minutes. I didn't schedule an appointment but he was able to get me in right away. Before I came here I went to Americas tires and they said I needed a whole new tire. They said the nail was on the shoulder of the tire but I believe it was on the tread which Tom said it was repairable. The price was $20 and I'd definitely come back again to his shop. The owner was not wearing mask. All his employees are wearing masks. He talks to customers, walks around without mask! When I arrived for smog check and break pads check up, he gave me a form and left me standing and staring at him. No word. Every time, I get the chance to look at him and asked, he said " just wait" After few minutes of looking around, I found a spot to sit outside. Waited one hour for a smog check. Tom did not even tell me the waiting time and what he is going to do and what to expect, how long is the wait, etc. After an hour, I asked about my car and he said, ok, passed. I asked if he had check the breaks, so we went to my car parked in front of his office and he took a flashlight and checked the rim of the tire. He said, ok. You need new tires. Then left. I went around my car as I was checking all my tires and I noticed that my windows were open and heard a noise which means my car key is on and has been beeping. And I was like WTF? That car key has been there left on beeping since I arrived and gave him my key? What if somebody steals it right there ready to go? And my battery has been on for more than an hour?? I immediately paid the smog check which is $45 ( higher than Smog Check Plus in Beryessa which only charges $29). And then he said, just come back for other repairs as I am busy today. It was my first time to go to this auto repair shop and wanted to get 2 things done . Had I known it would only be smog check and paying $16 more, I would have returned to smog check plus in Beryessa. I will never go back to that place!! No professionalism and no system, not covid safety compliant. It was a very frustrating experience. read more
