I had my '17 explorer in to dealer twice and another shop for quick-dealing battery and no obvious leak was found. Steve kept my car for a while and patiently tested a number of things and did research on possible culprit, the problem is resolved and a good price. He went above and beyond and I fully recommend this business. read more

I found this shop by accident. They were the only shop that I found that would even talk about much then do VSSI inspection. If you don't know what that is try the old Ca "Brake and lamp" inspection on steroids. Changed Jan of 25. Walking into the shop and talking to Steve put me at ease. Had one body shop back awhile ago call my truck a POS to my face then here is Steve and his boys who actually knows what a OBS is. of course my rear brakes were a tad too low. They got right to them. FYI my 3500 is a crew cab/Dually so its not the normal Chevy Posi/Dana set up. Full floaters ya know. Did I mention that there is a 66 Chevelle, 68 Chevelle, 55 T-bird sitting there and a cab from what looks like a old c series p/u fresh from the paint shop. Yeah they know what their doing and went out of their way to help me get my truck back. I hate mechanics who BS you and act like you don't anything about vehicles. Yeah that's not here. Now to get my 67 Nova/454 here for a little more help from these guys. Oh yes. They also went out of their way with clips and bulbs and other things to help it. read more

Steve was able to fix my electrical/software issues that the dealer couldn't fix on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica.

I was struggling with an electrical issue on my BMW M3 that killed 2 batteries. After taking the car to the dealership and another mechanic, my son recommended I take it to an electrical specialist and that's where Liberti's came in. Upon first contact, I knew they would take care of my car. I spoke with Steve on multiple occasions and with each encounter, he took the time to explain in detail everything he did that led up to the diagnosis of my car. Turns out my rear defroster stayed on and sucked the life out of my battery. He suggested to replace the fuse box and confirmed my approval before moving forward. He found the issue 2 days after I dropped off my car which I was so grateful for. Steve and his team are amazing. I would definitely bring my cars back to him for service and highly recommend Liberti's. I thought the cost to fix would be more than what he charged and he also kindly discounted part of the service which I wasn't expecting or asked for. He also washed my car for me! Thanks, Steve and team for the attention to detail and the care you exhibited during this entire process. Not many mechanics do this and it's appreciated and something that stood out to me. read more

The name is a little misleading. This place is a full-service automotive repair facility. Steve, the owner, is very friendly and extremely professional. The service provided is fast and done well. Great pricing...AAA members should be sure to ask for the AAA discount. I've had Liberti's do both regular maintenance (oil changes) as well as a repair. read more

One thing everyone needs is an honest auto repair shop, and from my experience working with Steve at Liberti's, I have found mine for as long as I live in Milpitas. Auto repair and service is a huge hassle, and for most of us it usually comes down to "can I trust these guys?" My situation was a great example of "yes I do!" Steve worked on both my modern and classic cars. Each time he explained everything to me so there would be no surprises, and even steered me away from a particular requested repair because it was not worth the expense. The fact that he took the time to get pricing and then lost out on a repair charge speaks volumes to me. What he did do was all the right services at a fair price. He's been fixing cars for 20+ years and really cares about building trust with his customers. Liberti's Auto Electric comes highly recommended! read more

I finally found the best automotive services shop ever!! A friend of mine referred me to Liberti's Auto Electric when I asked them if there was a shop that I could trust with a really complex project. Without hesitation they said to reach out to Steve and his team at Liberti's. My first meeting with Steve, Edgar, and James confirmed that I received a solid recommendation. They quickly and thoroughly assessed the issues I was having with my 2008 Toyota FJ (complex dual battery system drain + blowen head gasket) and provided me with several detailed options. At all times they ensured that was able to make decisions based upon my budget and schedule. Throughout the process to fix the FJ, I was always impressed with their attention to detail and focused on ensuring that every system on the FJ operated correctly. The added value of their efforts was that they were able to make simple corrections and minor repairs at no or little cost that without doubt saved me from future costly repairs. Finally, Steve, Edgar, and James are great people and form an amazing team. Steve's on going investments in professional certifications and training ensures that they will always deliver outstanding results!!!!!!!!!! Thank you very much Steve, Edgar, & James!!!!!!!!! read more

Great service and really know there stuff. Service performed was great and price was awesome.

Recently the DMV required my trailer to have a brake inspection. After an accident my insurance company listed my trailer as salvaged requiring me to certify that the brakes worked after the repair. Liberti's was one of the only certified shops in Santa Clara county authorized to inspect brake systems. Though it was an unusual request from the DMV Liberti's performed the inspection and I was able to re-obtain a current registration for the trailer. read more

Had my vehicle taken to the dealership to figure out electrical problem and they could not figure it out after a few weeks of having it, Had the vehicles computer sent out to get fixed and it was not the problem, also had it sent to a Nissan specialist and still no luck. Brought it over to Steve at libertis and in a few days he had it fixed!! I was happy he had found the problem. Throughout the whole time of my vehicle being there the shop was very responsive and attentive with any updated or questions I had. I have found my new go to shop. My Hyundai Elantra had a loose/broken wire in the steering column assembly that caused my car to lose its power steering functionality. I tried reaching out to several auto shops to request the wire repair, but they either couldn't do the repair or never got back to me. I found Liberti's on Yelp and gave them a call to describe the issue; I wanted to see if there was a chance they could help before driving the car to the shop (which would be tough without power steering). Steve, the business owner, answered my call; he was very courteous and attentive. Because the root cause was electrical, he estimated he could help, and took me up on my offer to look at photos I had taken, which I emailed him later that evening. Steve called me back the next day, said they'd be able to repair it, and I drove my car in that same afternoon. Parking was easy (plenty of spaces), and meeting Steve was very pleasant. He printed out my work order estimate, and I gave him my keys and left. It was clear to see that he's passionate about the work he does and equally passionate about saving customers money from going to the dealership. Later the next afternoon, Steve called and told me the work was all done! I picked up the car, paid, and was on my way. No more steering problems! I was very happy because the total repair cost ~$300 (including parts), which saved me a ton of money because the dealership wouldn't have repaired the one single wire; they would've replaced the entire wire harness instead which would've cost $1,000 - $2,000 minimum. Overall, I was very happy with the service, interactions, speed, and value of the work. I highly recommend this shop for your electrical repairs (and even non-electrical repairs). Thank you, Steve! :) read more

After years of electrical complications with my G37 and months of searching for help fixing constant ignition failures (avoiding the dreaded dealership at all costs) my trusted mechanic referred me to Liberti's, as this was the place he - in his 20+ years of experience - trusted the most. What took me months of troubleshooting to find, Libertis team found in just a few hours! They removed an old auto ignition mod from the dashboard and had my car right as new, the difference was astonishing. The team went out of their way to make special accommodations for the car and were very fair with pricing, highly recommend them for these reasons. Definitely worth reaching out if you needed the help like I did, will be retuning for future repairs - read more

Hello fellow Yelpers! Well, I needed to get my brake and light inspection under way. I called several other shops within my area but all sounded bland and sort of "in a hurry" to get me off the phone as soon as I started asking questions. I've never had to do these inspections in the 30+ years of being in the road. I called Liberti's and Steve answered. Wow! Great on the phone service, answered all my questions and concerns. I asked if to can drop off the car in the afternoon and he agreed. Probably spent an hour and a half at his shop for the entire process. No headaches, straight to the point and awesome customer service! Will definitely be back for other services! Thanks Steve! read more

5 star. please tell Steve Alicia sent you. He's probably the last honest mechanic in Milpitas. My mechanic quit on me so I thought I would try this random shop. walked in not knowing what was wrong with my van. I told Steve, I could not afford a new car so my only choice was to fix it. He could not stay within my budget so he had a neighboring mechanic fix my van. He was honest with me and explained in detai what parts could possibly be needed and how pricey it could become. He could of easily took advantage but he chose the honest route. Love this place and I will definitely be coming back. Again please tell him Alicia sent you. read more

These guys are FANTASTIC!!! I went to my dealership for my regular maintenance and notified them of my heater blowing cool air and my car was starting to overheat..,they wanted to charge me outrageous prices just for the inspection without guarantee they could fix the same day...they also were trying to up sell me and inform me of problems with other areas of my car I called Liberti during my maintenance And they said I could bring it over and they could take a look..they analyzed the problem and gave me honest review of the other areas that my dealership tried to upsell me on, and said they didn't need immediate attention, that these area were fine...they even noticed an issue with my starter, and found the honest problem with it versus trying to say I needed a whole new one...I also informed that I had to work in the afternoon and have a trip to Sacramento tomorrow, and they made me priority to meet my needs These guys are Honest, Attentive, friendly and totally worth their prices!! I will definitely only trust them with my repairs from now on :) read more

I had a parasitic drain on my battery. Replaced the battery and had several different (and competent) mechanics search for the problem. The problem continued. No one could find it. I know of Liberti's outstanding reputation, but hesitated because you get what you pay for. After a few months screwing around, I took it to "John" at Liberti's, and he found the problem the next day. It wasn't easy or readily apparent, but he found it relatively quickly, and fixed it immediately. With hindsight, I should have taken my car there immediately. Would have saved an extra $500. BTW, these mechanics are very respectful and patient. I truly appreciated being treated so kindly. Thanks, John! read more

Just bought a house across the street and thought I would try and support a local shop by servicing my fleet of vehicles here. Shop would not work with Ally Major Guard insurance so I had to pay out of pocket to get my car back and take it to ford instead. My fault for even taking it here and I understand why they don't want to work with insurances but I'm just a little butt hurt that I gave away money for nothing. Not a huge deal it was only $150 but it's more of the principle behind it. read more

It was very gratifying finding an honest and professional vehicle repair business. Steve was extremely helpful diagnosing an issue I had with my 2004 Toyota Sequoia electrical / battery issue. I had purchased a new battery from Piercy/Envision Toyota in Milpitas about a year ago. It temporarily fixed the issue, but if I the car still experienced electrical issues, (car wouldn't start, dim headlights) Liberti's performed a complete electrical diagnostic and discovered a issue with the battery. He suggested taking it back to swap our the battery at Toyota dealership, Toyota said there was no issues with electrical system, and refused to replace the battery under a two warranty. I highly recommend Liberti's for any issues you are experiencing with your vehicle. Great friendly environment ...... HONEST AND PROFESSIONAL. Thank you Steve read more

Took my truck in as I suspected my batteries were bad. The tech stated that the batteries load checked at 100% and the problem was most likely in the electronics control panel and he could not help me there as it was a dealer only part. I bit the bullet and took my truck to the dealer for test and was informed that the batteries were bad and load tested at less than 20% capacity. After replacement of the batteries my truck started and ran perfectly with no further electric problems. So all in all take what Liberti's says with a grain of salt. read more
