Let me share with you my experience,…read more Walter their salesman came out to give me a bid Once he found out that Home Depot had done the estimate already, he just used the amount of boxes which was about 80 for the estimate. He did no measuring or anything else. He was gone in about 10 minutes. (I needed only labor as I was purchasing the material from Home Depot.) Once we agreed on Price to have all the existing solid wood baseboard, removed the new floor put down and the baseboard put back. I agreed to the job. Pricing; I agreed on 50% down and 50% when the job was completed to maintain some control of the final product I'm very glad I did this. Their policy is to get 100% upfront, which I never recommend anyone for any service, ever do. The very next day after agreeing on terms with Walter, I got a call asking for 100% of the money I told this lady that's not what we agreed to and she said well that's what we normally do and I said you better call Walter. I'm gonna cancel the job. She did came back excepted 50% Overall, the subcontractors that came out from a company called Sun sunshine floors did a pretty good job putting in the material But it's the follow up , putting doors back on , getting trim put back on that was a real headache and took me almost 30 days to get done and also a threat of a complaint to get what I considered to be a very reasonable discount about $370 off my bill In the end, I fixed the existing problems myself because it was too much of a headache after they finally agreed to give me the discount Finally, a reminder again if you use this company, do not pay 100% upfront you'll have no control over the job over anything that needs to get fixed and you'll be working on their timetable, while they have all your money ------- Part 2 It's smart that Kelly took down her first knee jerk response to my above comment since is was inaccurate and not well researched. "Telling me I agreed not to leave public comment in agreement for the discount" -that was true if you accepted my generous offer.... the first go round. I'm going to guess that she finally got around to actually reading.... the 2nd email with my threat to file a complaint with yelp. Poof.....gone and replaced with boiler plate sorry we messed up and we should have done better. " Kelly, I wish you would have taken seriously my first initial complaint to your company and really taken the time to call me and find out what happened, Sincerely apologize, accept my generous offer and maybe even go a bit farther to make me happy and satisfied, If you had done so, we wouldn't be having this stupid engagement in the first place. The actual team who installed the carpet was awesome, Riley was great to work with when installing our new baseboards, Luis did an excellent job on our bathroom tile, and Roger went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. We had a problem, that was not the crew's fault, when our fridge ice maker line leaked after the application of the first finish coat. They were great and got it taken care of, re-sanding and refinishing the affected areas. The only issue was communication, especially early on. Be sure to coordinate with the managers so that the plans have been communicated to the crew before the work starts, and stay in touch with the managers. Once I engaged with them it was quite responsive , and most importantly the work is fantastic. We will be enjoying these floors for decades.

They also have other types of flooring. We chose a plush carpet and some really good pad and Brett wrote up our order. He sent our phone number to an installer named Chris who was supposed to call us in a day or two to schedule coming out to measure. When I didn't hear from him for 4 days I called him. He said he couldn't get into his email and didn't know that he was supposed to call. But he did come out a few days later to measure and again a week later to measure the third room that was missed on his first visit (hubby's fault). Being that it was only 3 days before our scheduled install I was definitely nervous. Brett called us two days before install to say they didn't have enough of our chosen carpet and offered the options of choosing a different carpet, doing less area, or getting our full deposit back and not getting carpet. We opted for getting a different carpet so we made that drive up north once again. The morning of our install Chris called to say he couldn't make it but would send his brothers. We had spent days getting the rooms ready - taking out all the stuff in the closets (up to 3 feet off the floor), emptying shelves, and basically removing everything but the heavy furniture. So of course I said ok to having substitute installers. They turned out to be very good and got the job done in one day. So far everything looks great And they only missed one night stand when putting the furniture back. So Sloane's will continue to be our go to for new carpet.

Instead, his workers were in our home the week before Christmas working until midnight on December 22, returning the next morning to deliver only a barely functional kitchen by Christmas Eve. Even now, hardware is misaligned, a cabinet door is warped, and several trim pieces remain missing. We still have one small outstanding payment, but James has ignored our attempts to contact him for months. He still has not provided an itemized list of costs for our project as requested. It is clear he has no intention of completing the work as promised. As successful professionals running our own independent businesses, we would never tolerate this kind of behavior from our employees. Save yourself the frustration--find another contractor.

We stopped in to see if they had carpet padding- to go under my area rugs. Home Depot also has padding, but theirs is lower quality and will flake apart when I cut it to the size of my rugs. Also, the pad they sell here has a layer on top to keep everything together that the other kind I looked at didn't have. It comes in 6' rolls, so for my larger rugs, I'll have to tape them together- which is common practice in the carpet industry apparently. The guy we talked to was super helpful, and even helped us locate the Big R store (across the street) that we were looking for in the first place. I was very happy that we happened across this store, especially because some other carpet store we tried to go to had closed at 4pm, and we missed them by 15 minutes. I
