Bryan was quick to get back to my inquiry and was at the house to assess the project within a day. 2) Knowledgeable. Our refrigerator had leaked and warped several boards. Bryan explained the pros and cons of board replacement vs letting the boards dry out. We went with the latter and saved money. We had another challenge in the fact that we did not have two rooms refinished which meant seamless color matching. Alfredo was an artist and had an eye for selecting the perfect match. Although the final decision was ours, his experience was a definite help. 3) Efficient. The whole process from start to finish only took three days. We used the opportunity for a little vacation in the mountains and came home to beautiful floors! 4) Professional. Kevin, the project manager, came the weekend before to assess the job site and answer any questions. Alberto hung plastic and taped off the areas to reduce dust and vacuumed any remaining dust before the final coat. I asked for it to be glued down, tiles selected had instructions for gluing but they were not followed. I was not told during the project the installer was not gluing them down per instructions until the project was done. I am now having to consider replacing it since the floor pops and snaps when we walk on it. I also just discovered that when the trim they removed was replaced the caulk used was kitchen caulk (not paintable) so I had to scrape it off and redo it.

They also have other types of flooring. We chose a plush carpet and some really good pad and Brett wrote up our order. He sent our phone number to an installer named Chris who was supposed to call us in a day or two to schedule coming out to measure. When I didn't hear from him for 4 days I called him. He said he couldn't get into his email and didn't know that he was supposed to call. But he did come out a few days later to measure and again a week later to measure the third room that was missed on his first visit (hubby's fault). Being that it was only 3 days before our scheduled install I was definitely nervous. Brett called us two days before install to say they didn't have enough of our chosen carpet and offered the options of choosing a different carpet, doing less area, or getting our full deposit back and not getting carpet. We opted for getting a different carpet so we made that drive up north once again. The morning of our install Chris called to say he couldn't make it but would send his brothers. We had spent days getting the rooms ready - taking out all the stuff in the closets (up to 3 feet off the floor), emptying shelves, and basically removing everything but the heavy furniture. So of course I said ok to having substitute installers. They turned out to be very good and got the job done in one day. So far everything looks great And they only missed one night stand when putting the furniture back. So Sloane's will continue to be our go to for new carpet.

James assured us we would have a finished kitchen by Thanksgiving 2024. Instead, his workers were in our home the week before Christmas working until midnight on December 22, returning the next morning to deliver only a barely functional kitchen by Christmas Eve. Even now, hardware is misaligned, a cabinet door is warped, and several trim pieces remain missing. We still have one small outstanding payment, but James has ignored our attempts to contact him for months. He still has not provided an itemized list of costs for our project as requested. It is clear he has no intention of completing the work as promised. As successful professionals running our own independent businesses, we would never tolerate this kind of behavior from our employees. Save yourself the frustration--find another contractor.

The owner said it would take 4 days to sand, stain…read moreand seal the main floor so we made plans to stay out of town during that time - since this isn't a project that you can stay at home for. The crew finished in 1 day +2 hours the next day. They didn't mask off our new kitchen cabinets (or anything else) as they were supposed to so everything was covered in sanding dust. They left in a hurry without locking up the house. The front door was propped open with the key in the deadbolt and all of the lights left on. They left tools and trash inside and outside the house. The owner was apologetic afterwards but accepted zero responsibility for his crew. You might think they would check to make sure everything was done correctly before letting us know they were finished, but apparently there is no quality control. There are several areas that look bad - ripples across the floor, stain on the carpeting, a splotch of stain in the hallway and a long hair sealed into the kitchen floor. We will have to hire someone else to fix these areas since we can't trust this company to be in our house.

We stopped in to see if they had carpet padding- to go under my area rugs. Home Depot also has padding, but theirs is lower quality and will flake apart when I cut it to the size of my rugs. Also, the pad they sell here has a layer on top to keep everything together that the other kind I looked at didn't have. It comes in 6' rolls, so for my larger rugs, I'll have to tape them together- which is common practice in the carpet industry apparently. The guy we talked to was super helpful, and even helped us locate the Big R store (across the street) that we were looking for in the first place. I was very happy that we happened across this store, especially because some other carpet store we tried to go to had closed at 4pm, and we missed them by 15 minutes. I
