"How the South does fast food!" That's the slogan and I'll be damned if this isn't the best southern fast food anywhere around these parts! It's a brilliant concept really. It's a meat and three kind of place with many options of proteins and veggies to choose from. It's a larger and more diverse menu than you will find at any place that is quick like this. It's way nicer inside than any other fast food place, that's for sure. Great color scheme. Floor plan flows well. You can see where to access the bevs, condiments, and rest rooms easily. I personally like these the best in this order: Fried Fish Baked Wings Fried Pork Chop Pinto Beans Corn Cornbread Chicken & Dumplings Sweet Potato Casserole Mac & Cheese Mashed Potatoes They also have: Baked fish and chicken Greens Potato Salad Black Eye Peas Fried Okra Broccoli Casserole Fries Fried Broccoli and many more... Food flies out of the kitchen fast, I am not sure how they do it and keep it all so fresh! The people are super friendly and most helpful. The food is terrible. Spent 20.00 to eat 1 meat and 3 vegetables with cake and sweet tea. I had a hamburger steak with gravy, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried okra, and turnip greens. The only thing in the whole meal that was decent was the turnip greens. Everything else had been cooked probably the day before and tasted like it was made of cardboard. We went abbay's for a quick lunch dinner. My mother-in-law went in. I got the country fried steak the potato salad, the turnip greens, thus sweet potato casserole and the cornbread so when she brought it out, I looked at the potato salad because some people do put bacon in the potato salad so I'm looking throughout the potato salad and there's bacon in it but when my mother-in-law came out again, she was like well they said it's breadcrumbs and it could be breadcrumbs cause it look like bacon, bacon, and breadcrumbs. Don't look the same so I went in to tell them that this is bacon that I am a Muslim. I can't have bacon so the lady at the register was showing me what's in it that doesn't match up to what the bacon is inside so another lady on the side of her was saying that everything has bacon in it besides the corn and the cabbage I was like well just give me corn is fine, but don't lie to my mother-in-law about breadcrumbs, looking like bacon read more

The food is good with the exception of okra. It is so soggy, undercooked, & no crunch. Please learn to cook it right or get rid of it! Also, be sure to check your bag every time or you will probably be missing something. Overall, good food. read more

The worst customer service I have experienced in a while. I went in to get soup for my Dad (he was in the hospital right behind the restaurant). I paid for a cup of vegetable beef soup. I asked if they could give me more broth than beef or vegetables. The cashier just looked confused so I explained again. She turned to ask a manager. I explained that he was in the hospital and needed more broth than anything else. She looked at the cashier and said "we don't do no special requests" and walked off. I'll never be back. read more

This review is for a pick-order only, no dining in experience. We ordered Abbay's Thanksgiving menu, and it was delicious. Mac & Cheese, dressing, turnip green, sweet potato casserole, gravy, cranberry sauce, pecan pie, and iced tea. Everything was very good, our favorite was the sweet potato casserole, cooked to a melting point that contrasts with the crispy pecans, just amazing. I was disappointed that they run out of turkey, although we placed my order two days before Thanksgiving, and I ended up with unsweetened tea instead of sweet tea, still they made our holiday! read more

Food is always great. My favorites are the chicken and dumplings. Everytime I have been inside which is everytime the place is spotless.

We liked this place, the food, and the workers. However, I pulled a wavy piece of shiny wire over an inch long out of my BlackEye Peas. From a stainless steel scouring pad, perhaps? I put the wire on a napkin, and gave it to the manager. She asked if I wanted another cup of peas or something, but I didn't. I gave them only two stars this time, whereas I would have otherwise given them four. read more

Food was actually surprisingly good for a Southern cuisine fast food-type restaurant. Staff were helpful and somewhat friendly. We got the meat and 2, country fried steak and gravy with lima beans and broccoli rice casserole. Pretty satisfied with the overall experience! I was looking for something besides fast food or long wait sit down for a late lunch and came across Abby's on the way to Aldi's. It's a interesting menu very basic Dash fried fish meatloaf steak tips and other staples. They have at least 10 to 12 meats and also side items to choose from and include a roll or cornbread. The plates are priced based on how many side items you want. I had the meatloaf one side and bread, and it was nine dollars before tax. As far as quality, the food was fine. Nothing to stand out but nothing bad either. I work at a school and have lunch in the cafeteria daily. This food is very much like what any school cafeteria would serve. The broccoli rice was better than the meatloaf. If I return I'll probably try something fried to see if that is a better option. If you're just looking for some basic comfort food and quick service this might be an option. read more

Varied Southern soul menu. Had a craving for greens, peas and Southern veggies. Got the combo plate with greens, black eyed peas, Mac and chicken. Portions are huge, friend service, veggies are fresh, homemade and seasoned well. Seems like a fast food type restaurant, which is fine. read more

I had never heard of this place before, and decided to try it when I saw it one day on a whim. I absolutely LOVED it! It is great food, insane portions, and fairly priced. Their sweet tea is AMAZING and they have SUPER LARGE cups so be careful when ordering a large! Sorry - if this is the way the South does Fast Food - I'm not interested. For starters - if you don't know about the menu - the girl taking my order wasn't helpful at all. It took far too long to figure it out when you are not use to this sort of menu at all and your order taker doesn't know how to explain at all. I finally settled on the meatloaf mash potatoes and corn - with corn bread and pecan pie! This is normally my favorite meal! Let me start with what was good - though the meatloaf didn't look the best - it tasted great! Though the mash potatoes and gravy looked fake - they were indeed real and again very tasty! The corn, which is a mix of whole kernel and creamed corn - it was good - but not very sweet! Now for the truly horrible and disappointing: the corn bread was about as dry as dry can be - you'd think being in the South they'd know how to get this right, But the very worst part was the freaking Pecan Pie - WHAT! How can I be in the south and get a bad piece of pecan pie???? I swear it must have been shipped down here from the north as it was rejected there! Even the cleanliness of the place and the dying plants couldn't help bring this to above 2 stars. The saving grace was the taste of some of the food and perhaps the price was good. Having said all that and giving this place 2 stars - I've been to much more expensive places that didn't compare to this place, so I'd certainly check it out, but skip the pie and the corn bread for sure! read more

Fried boneless chick breast was good hush puppies were small and hard, corn needed salt. If you order anything with gravy make sure you ask for brown or white gravy, if you go through the drive through ask for napkins catchup, salt pepper etc. they only give you a fork and napkin nothing else.
