Finding a qualified contractor, experienced in stamped concrete, and willing to travel to Allyn can be challenging. Contractors who specialize in this type of work are typically concentrated around Seattle. Joe Derouin personally came to our home to bid the project and spent considerable time discussing our vision and the challenges of the slope, grading, propane fire pit placement and water movement. As the son of a contractor, my husband learned most of the construction trades at an early age and has high expectations when hiring contractors. We tackle most project ourselves and understand material and labor costs. Derouin was the second contractor to bid our project and was very reasonable for the scope of this project. The vision for our project was to convert a tired, sloping golf cart path, block fire pit area and sad block wall to a stamped concrete patio, seat wall and walkway. There were several challenges with this project - connecting the parking pad to the walkways, replacing a side door landing and stairs, balancing the fire pit patio with the new deck stairs and connecting to the lower covered patio. We were fortunate to have the week slated for our job to be dry and were able to complete the project on time and on budget. As other reviewers have stated, Joe and his crew are the best! They are very hard working, enjoy their craft and are very polite and personable. They were always courteous about parking and moving vehicles when needed and did not impede on our daily lives. The yard and work area was always cleaned up at the end of each day and they respected the HOA rules for contractors. We highly recommend Derouin Concrete. With our walkway and patio/fire pit, we can more fully enjoy our property throughout the year.

We were about to sign on with another company when we came across Tierra Landscape and Walter came to do a free site visit and quickly gave us an extremely reasonable estimate. He was even able to schedule us very quickly. Walter collaborated with us on our landscaping goals (improving our lawn and walkway grading, removing and re-sodding our entire lawn, installing a brand new paver walkway and stairway, removing a tree stump, reconfiguring a boulder wall, and building a retaining wall) and knew exactly which materials would fit our needs. He even came up with a solution for lowering and covering a sewer cleanout that stuck out in the middle of our lawn, and routed a gutter under the walkway so it wouldn't keep us awake with the dripping. Throughout the whole project, he was kind, understanding, professional, punctual, and was easy to collaborate with when it came to discussing possible options and determining methods that would combine our needs with his knowledge of best practices.
