However, they deal with many, many types of auctions and some differ in the guidelines. They are Busy for a reason! The reason is not their customer service it's that they make real Treasures available for anyone to find and buy. When I first met their office help, I will be the first to admit. I was extremely unhappy! But in reality, they didn't deceive me in anyway, I've come to realize they process a lot of transactions and there must be some firm guidelines. I have found what Absolute Auctions offers is a Treasure Hunt on Land, not to mention there is a constant flow of New Possibilities at Great Prices! This in itself is very unique, believe me I've been looking for additional Auction sites that offer this experience, I have yet to find any even close where these opportunities exist. Absolute Auction is truly very One of a Kind! They Truly Deserve a Better Review Than some Upset People Have Left. There is no shortage of Bidders and return Bidders at That! Yes, the office is Lacking Compassion and Understanding but That is the only thing wrong with the process. Honestly, They Have Improved with their Bedside Manner! Just to be clear I do not work for Absolute in ant capacity!

Just filed a complaint with the BBB. What a disgusting fall from grace- for what used to be a…read morereputable company. We attended their live auctions decades ago and considered the staff friends. Now that staff runs the show and did not have the courtesy to reply to a simple email from a decades long customer who has spent tens of thousands of dollars, at least, on their auctions. Instead, they had "lower level" staff produce a generic reply- we value your concerns.... yada, yada.... We firmly believe they are now very unethical with little regard for honesty or their buyers concerns. We believe that any/all NYS Real Estate contracts or any contracts with government/state property should be revoked.

Old Red Barn Auction - A really good country auction.

While not Christies, this is a very professional and upscale auction in Orange County, NY…read more Finding it takes you along some lovely country roads, but keep your eyes on the road, lots of wildlife, think deer, out for an evening stroll. While the website (www.oldredbarnauction.com) gives you a good idea on whats going to be put up at the monthly (1st Sat of the month) auction, going there is a better idea. You can really see things and look them over carefully. They allow you in, give as much time as you would like and are helpful if you have questions. They have many pieces of furniture, much from older estates being sold. Some come in on consignment. There is artwork there, often some interesting pieces. They have old stoneware on occasion. Stamps come in from local dealers. China sets from "the old country" (which could be Russia, Belgium, Greece and any country in-between). Glassware from the 1920's. Leaded glass. Chandeliers. Some things will go for $10, others for $1,000. I have seen a few things go for much more. VIEWING is usually Friday afternoon before the auction, and Saturday afternoon just prior. Cash, MC, Visa, NO AMEX, local checks 15% BUYER'S FEE - I don't think there is a discount for cash. Seating is not super comfortable. but if you get there early enough its manageable. Or you can stand in the back area. Get there early on Saturday, parking will be difficult, at best. That's one annoying thing. The other is the cost of the food they serve. Ludicrous, and not good enough for the price. 5 stars because you don't go for the parking and food anyway, the auctioneer is good and he keeps things moving along.

Their Consignment Director, Brian, helped me through the process every step of the way. I was only in Boston for a few days, from out of state, to help settle my uncle's affairs. Brian came from Connecticut to Boston to meet me in person and review the collection right away. He gave me an auction estimate and transported the large collection back down to Kelleher. He was able to explain to me what was valuable in the collection, and also very importantly, what was not. The consignment and auction process were all explained clearly. The contract was straightforward and clear as well. Once the collection was at the Kelleher warehouse, their team sorted, cataloged, photographed, and appraised everything. I cannot even imagine the amount of work it took their team to take a whole van full of boxes and turn them into individual lots with beautiful photos and detailed marketing descriptions. Ahead of the auctions, Kelleher provided me with the low and high auction estimates for each lot, and the minimum starting bid. I enjoyed watching the auctions online and I was pleasantly surprised at the results: the final sales totals far exceeded the original auction estimate I received. I am so grateful to have found Kelleher Auctions. Thanks to the whole Kelleher team, my uncle's cherished stamp and currency collection has been passed into the hands of new expert collectors who can appreciate and conserve them for the future.
