Terrible service. Just terrible. No concept of customer service. I don't like leaving bad reviews for companies, esp small businesses, but this conduct is so unacceptable, I am making the effort to share with the community re what is going on. I called this company to get an estimate for a project. The plumber came, and he seemed ok - he gave me an estimate and time-frame. He instructed me to get parts and call him back directly to setup a time and date so the plumber (Carlos) can come back to install the items. So I got the items, called back, left him a vm, sent him a text - but nothing. So I called the main office back saying to inquire what's going on. Some lady picked up and mentioned, that Stephanie isn't available who handled my case and that Stephanie will call back later this day. She never called me. A week or two later, in the meantime, my situation has changed - I had additional plumbing items to replace, and I still haven't heard back from AAP nor the plumber, I call back asking what is going on, I tell them what is going on that I haven't heard back to schedule my plumbing repair and she says that she has apologized a thousand times and will apologize "to a point". First of all, they never apologized till I reached out - so a far cry from "apologized a thousand times". A real apology would have been if someone from their office (preferably the owner) had reached out to me to say "I'm sorry, we messed up - how can we make this up for you?" I understand that we are all human, we all make mistakes and we all deserve a 2nd chance. But none of that happened. Second, what on earth does that mean "apologize to a point"? Either they say sorry or not. Either they recognize what they did is unacceptable or not. This is just baloney. They have no idea how to treat customers right. They have forgotten their customers. They are just not able to follow through on their promise. So if they can't follow up a simple promise of calling someone repeatedly, what else are they messing up? So I asked for a flat rate sheet, they wouldn't provide. Then they had me talk to multiple different people giving me the run around, not appreciated. I asked how they come up with $1200 and nobody could show me where that number comes from. The don't listen to their customers, bad customer support, shady on how they price jobs. Let me start by saying that AAP DID attempt to help us find a septic emptying company last weekend over fourth of July, but didn't have any luck. I rated them a 2 star instead of a 1 star because at no point in time did they directly lie to me, and the plumbing services they recommended weren't a bad idea. For some background I have a home we purchased 4 years ago that was built in 1981 and has septic. For the last 4 years our septic has functioned flawlessly until this last 4th of July weekend where it backed up completely into our lower bathroom. We had a pool overflow into the leach field and a water spigot spring a leak right over my septic main line at the same time. I explained to the plumber when they came out Monday what had happened and they recommended an empty service and inspection. The quote was initially $675 which was dropped after I told them it was WAY more than we planned on paying for a septic empty. The septic guys came back and said $250 and the plumber held fast at $375 for inspection due to my small 6" risers. I asked if for $625 I was getting a guarantee minus any major issues that my drains would work and they said yes. After the septic pump was finished the AAP team determined they could not do the original job without digging the caps up and inspecting the tanks. They dug up both sides and determined the baffles were not properly installed, although they had been functioning as is for years and years without issue. They then tested the leach line to make sure it was working properly and it was. So they went to work on the main line. They snaked the line which drained it and ran the camera up there. To me it looked like a crushed pipe which would make sense due to the water leak at the foundation adding weight to the dirt. They told me it was a grease backup and that I needed hydrojetting. The plumber went back to call in for a quote on repairs and came back with an estimate of $625 and $675 for basic hydrojetting. At the time I had no idea what this would or should cost. It was 9pm at night. The highest quote was $4895 to install 2 new 24" risers, add a main line clean out port, to hydrojett the main line, to fix the 2 incorrect t baffles at the entrance and exit to the septic tank, and a chemical treatment of the tank. I immediately researched parts costs while the guys were there and it was about $200 in parts. The hydrojetting machine is not free and obviously should have a little premium on it. However the work would be completed that night, so truth be told it was about a $4500 labor quote for 3-4 hours work. Maybe less, the T baffles are right at the top of the septic tank and the lids were already exposed. The main line was 18" down so it was a little more digging. I thought the quote was personally outrageous. 7 days later this Sunday my septic clogs again and once again we have to call a plumber. My wife calls the original company AAP and I speak with the owner Anthony who explains to me that he didn't get 17 trucks trying to take advantage of people and that he would send his guy back out today to inspect what is going on for free. I am super pissed about the quote and he tells me I have a major leak in my system if my septic filled up in a week. A septic is supposed to fill back up in about a week. Research it, that is typical and there is no leak because I have already tested at the water main meter at the street. Then he tells me it is probably my leach lines then (a $5000 repair on top of the $4895 already quoted by the way) and I respond we ran a leach test with the hose for 30 minutes and it passed. So he then says all I can do is send my guy out and find out what is wrong. So 3 hours later his tech Josh shows up and we show him the toilet. Since there is no main line cleanout he tells me he cannot inspect the line without removing the toilet and then placing it back on. I tell him to go call his boss as he said the inspection was free. They were already here and already knew there was no access so why tell me it is free if it isn't? I literally walked to my garage, got a crescent wrench and some pliers, walked back into my lower bathroom and had the toilet off when he got off the phone with his boss. He then said OK yeah my boss says $165 to pull the toilet. OK so my free inspection was now already $165 for 2 minutes work. Awesome! So the tech places the camera line down the main through the toilet and hits a block and because of the water we can't see anything. So he tells me the grease in the line probably broke free and clogged the t baffle and assures me the issue is at the t baffle. He can snake it for me, but it is $98. lol great free service that so far would have cost me another $265 for 15 minutes work. I dig up the septic and same issue as day 1. I fixed it with the hose for free. I still believe a crushed pipe to be the issue. I will be digging it up at the foundation myself. If you choose AAP, be prepared to finance the repairs. read more

AAP did a slab leak repair, reroute in my home last year. So this year, when I had yet another leak in the ceiling, I turned to them to see if it had anything to do with the last job. It turns out that it was a shoddy job done by Bath Planet who installed my shower. AAP came out and fixed it even though it had nothing to do with their previous one. They are an amazing company that does a fantastic job and stand by their work 100%. Cesar was polite, efficient, a professional in his work and wore a mask. Called AAP and set up an appointment to have our main drain looked at. It was an emergency situation. They said they could be out later that afternoon (called around 10AM). Said they would arrive by 1 but after an hour and a half past, nobody showed. We called and rescheduled for Monday and stayed at my dads with our 5 month old because our house had no running water or working plumbing. We took off work and were given an appt time between 11-1 Monday and when nobody showed by 1:30 we called and were told it would be another 20 minutes. By 3 pm we called back and canceled our appt with them and will be hiring another company. To AAP: please consider that people have lives (and a new baby in our case) and that when you quote a time, it is important that you show a little professionalism, and CUSTOMER SERVICE... actually arrive when you say you will. Thank you for leaving our family in a bad situation for 3 days while we waited on you to get your stuff together (and you never actually did). And their estimates are often well above the prevailing rates. My fiance reached out to AAP Home Services, and before he could even tell me he had done so, Rudy called me to set up an appointment. The girl who set up the appointment gave me a 2 hour window for the next day from 9am-11am, and I had asked to have Rudy call me back so we could discuss exactly what he had spoken with my fiance about, just so we were all on the same page. Rudy called me back within an hour. To say I was already impressed with this company was an understatement. Edward showed up at 9:15 and was very polite, listened to what my issue was, and told me exactly what he was doing as he was doing it. He told me what he thought the issue was, gave me prices on a replacement water heater that we will need soon, but wasn't pushy about getting something done ASAP. We had a horrible sulphur smell in one sink, Edward thought it was a bacteria issue in the pipe, but also flushed the water heater in case it was that and not what he thought it was. He gave me an enzyme gel to pour down the sink to get rid of the smell. He waited for the city to arrive to close the water main at the street. There are several issues I had with the plumber AAP sent out to my house to fix a dropping tub faucet, intermittently running toilets, and under sink drip. Pro: George wore shoe covers to keep my floor clean. He arrived around 11:30AM, within the appointment window. Con: George forgot to take shoe covers off when walking to his van parked in alley, negating the point of shoe covers. I should have asked him to leave when he did not know how to open my toilet lid that has a top pull instead of side push flush. What green plumber hasn't seen this kind of toilet? Then he looked at the other toilets that had intermittent issues and told me I should replace my toilet. How about replacing the flap first to see if that would resolve the problem? It's like a quack surgeon who wants to cut off the arm to fix a broken pinky finger. He said my toilet is old and toilets should be replaced every 6-7 years. My father is a retired plumber and just replaces the parts hat are worn as long as the bowl is not broken. I told him to replace the flap and we'll see if it fixes the problem. If it doesn't, I will call them back to replace the toilet. At the 3rd toilet, he's pushing for full replacement and that when I told him again to replace all the flaps. This is a pushy plumber. Then he looked at the leak under the sink and tells me that a plastic cap needs to be tightened. I take a look myself and see a crack. I told him to look again and he says there's no crack on the plastic cap and he can tighten it for free. Yay, free is good. Nothing to worry about there, right? More on this later as I'm kicking him out of my house. George can't fix the main problem, which is the dripping tub faucet, because Harden Hardware is out of business and there is no one selling spare parts. I know this because another plumber tried to find spare parts to replace dripping sink faucet in the same bathroom last year. He says replacing faucet would require tearing into the marble tub surround. I declined. Since he was already there, I asked him to quote me for changing 4 toilet flaps. Ok, I tried changing these myself, but couldn't get it to work properly, so I was willing to pay a plumber for the work and I get that they have to make some money for even a small job to cover travel expenses. He quoted me $100 per flap plus materials, which came out to $480 estimate. Pricey, but I was willing to pay to stop the water flow in toilets and not waste another day waiting for plumbers and estimates. He went out to buy flaps, came back and started working. Around 1:30PM, I told him I had to leave by 2:20PM. He was still working on replacing the first toilet flap. By 2:15PM, he was just finishing up flap #2 and said he couldn't replace flaps #3 & 4 because he bought the wrong parts. What kind of plumber doesn't check what they need to buy before going to the store. He said he could come back later when I get home. I didn't have time in the afternoon to continue this drawn out job. I told him to charge me for 2 toilet flaps. He reworks the estimate and returned with $280. By my calculations, $480/4=$120/toilet. So the cost should be $240. I caught his mistake and he comes back with parts cost more than estimated. Well, I wasn't happy with his estimate and then he changes the story to say that the $80 was a service call. No one mentioned service call charge over email, phone or in person. Then he suggests dropping the price by $50 to make me happy. How about being honest, buddy! He then proceeds to go upstairs to tighten the loose cap under the sink, comes back down and says he can't do it because there's a crack in it--I told him that at the beginning. I told him I was done with his company and will not be asking them back to finish the other 2 toilets. George is very inexperienced, worked slow, was trying to upsell. He needs more journeyman experience before making house calls on his own. He needs to be upfront and honest about charges. I would avoid this company because they have inexperienced plumbers. read more

Great service from aap but A bit of hassle getting referral to fix dry wall. We just had Daniel come out and check out a water stain I recently noticed that was right below our laundry room. He was very polite and thorough. Asked lots of questions and was attentive to the job. After opening up the ceiling and checking all of the fixtures upstairs for leaks he determined it was an issue with our pan and or washer very slowly leaking through a gap. He also had to great tips on how to seal the pan and what to buy. He explained everything to me and my husband and let us know that they don't repair dry wall but they have someone they can refer. I would give Daniel five stars as his service was excellent. Now I just need the hole in my ceiling fixed... Here's where I encountered a little bit of trouble. I called the dry wall guy that was referred me to and the guy quoted me nearly double what Daniel said the cost Could be. Daniel gave me a broad range and made no promises about what the cost could be. It's about a two by one patch and the minute I told the guy it seemed high for such a small repair and he dropped his price but was annoyed about it. I called aap back and asked for another referral because I didn't feel comfortable with Ernesto doing the job. They gave me the number to someone else and that guy quoted me on the low end of what Daniel said the repair could cost. Steven showed up on time to provided an on-site estimate. He took his time and wrote out an estimate for us. He was able to schedule us a few days later and came prepared with all the materials and tools he needed to complete the job. He worked diligently, didn't take any breaks, and did a fantastic job. Steven replaced our water regulator, several faucets and our shower fixtures, and fixed irregular installations done by previous technicians. NO SHOW!! First things first, they cancelled at time the appointment was made. The appointment was scheduled one week in advance. I am a busy professional and need to adhere to a schedule. I took the day off to meet the plumber "Rick" who called to cancel at the actual appointment time. Secondly, I was quoted $488 to replace two shower valves. After they no showed, I went to Home Depot and purchased one shower valve for for a cost of $40.00. I did the work myself which took 1/2 hour. I cannot recommend this plumber. read more

I will never use this company again. After using them almost a year ago, I'm just now finally getting everything in order with my plumbing and repairing the mess that was made. I called for a possible slab leak early in the morning. Woman on the phone was very nice and told me they would send someone out right away. When he arrived, he didn't have the leak detection kit. So we waited hours for another employee to bring the leak finder. I was then told I had multiple slab leaks and the only option was to repipe the entire house. I said I couldn't afford that, and was told that they would try to find the leaks and repair them. After cutting massive, uneven holes in the drywall, and splicing in pex tubing that was not secured, and is still hanging loose through the attic, I was told that for every fix they were making, a new leak was springing up and they couldn't do anymore work until I paid for the repipe. I had already spent a large amount of money on these "repairs" and was left with hot water I had to turn on at the water heater every time I needed it and I couldn't afford to then pay for the repipe as well. I had to call them back twice because a pipe they bypassed was not capped and I had a huge water leak in my garage as well as them bypassing my water source to my washing machine so I couldn't wash clothes until it was convenient for them to come back out and repair it. Needless to say after being here all day, my house was left in worse shape then when these guys arrived. I called another plumber and in half the time, for half the price, and half the mess, my plumbing was 100% back to normal. In closing, I feel like either the plumbers that arrived had no idea what to do, or they are told to upsell and do a subpar job if the big money fixes aren't chosen by the customer. In the end I found a great plumber who I feel comfortable calling for any plumbing issues. But it's not these guys. read more

We recently had our kitchen sink get clogged. The first time we called AAP, Zachary came out and got the sink working again, gave us a great price. We were satisfied. A few weeks later we had the problem again. We called AAP and they sent another tech out. He couldn't get the sink working again. To my surprise Zachary showed up today without us calling. He came back on his own and fixed the sink. He went that extra mile. I can't tell you the volumes that speaks about that young mans work ethic. Very professional.
