Wow, I can't say enough about Ann and her team. I met Ann over a year ago at a wedding fair I attended. She was extremely friendly and welcoming upon our initial meeting, which left a lasting impression. I called Ann 2 weeks after meeting her, and among the hundreds of people she came in contact with, she remembered me. She knew exactly who I was when I called, which again, left a lasting impression. Since then I've been working with Ann on efforts to make my wedding a day is my dreams. Since AAB is a "one-stop wedding shop" my husband and I decided to utilize many of her services because of the convenience of working with one vendor, and not only that, Ann was extremely customer service friendly and acknowledged our budget while still doing her best to accommodate us to every detail. Ann's photography team did our engagement photo shoot, which was AMAZING! The photographer, Tu did a great job posing us and getting some great angles. He remained professional the entire time and confirmed our comfort level before posing us. On our wedding day, the photo and video team arrived at the scheduled time and immediately started shooting the moment they walked in! I was extremely impressed and in awe. Regarding our decor, OMG where do I start!!?? Okay, of course I had a vision, but my vision was nothing compared to what Ann and her team executed! Ann and I met several times leading up to the day of our wedding. Every meeting she was extremely hospitable, patient, and understating (even with the several changes I made). Ann completed a demo at our venue about 6 months before our wedding to ensure that my husband and I were satisfied with everything that we selected for table setting. Even that was amazing, so I knew that our wedding would be beautiful....but boy was I wrong...our wedding was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! I mean mind blowing!! Ann was awesome to work with from beginning to end. I used her decorating services, photography, and dress rental. Decorations- Even though our wedding only had a three month window to plan, Ann made the process easy and effortless. She was initially recommended by our venue, Pacific Lighthouse in Alameda. The manager there had ample experiences working with Ann's professional team and they were very happy with her work. When I first met Ann, I was in the beginning stages of planning my wedding and didn't have a solid plan on how I wanted my wedding to be. We met at her beautiful showroom in San Leandro and she showed me a ton of photos of her previous work and I was able to quickly choose a theme. From there, we built up the services and decorations that I would need to achieve my goals. Being an expert in the wedding planning business, she offered great suggestions and insights on how to add design flairs and elegant touches to my plans. There were a lot of little details to consider, but I never felt pressured to add anything that didn't suit my needs. I also had a Vietnamese/Chinese wedding portion to my wedding and Ann even had decorations and special trays available for that. She was extremely easy to communicate with and accommodating with making changes in plans. When I entered my venue on my wedding day, the decor was way better that I could have imagined. Beautiful all around! Photography- Her company also offered photography services. Two photographers came to my house and the venue and stayed with us for the entire day. They traveled with us to several locations around the bay. They took beautiful action photos as well as posed photos. The photographer was an excellent communicator and was able to direct poses that made us look natural. The head photographer also spoke Chinese and Vietnamese and was able to coordinate large family photos. The photobook that came with the package was beyond beautiful, made out of thick quality photo paper with a beautiful layout. Dress Rental- Although I ultimately chose to go with a store bought dress, Ann also provided options for dress rentals. I was able to pick out a large selection of dresses from catalog. From there, she brought the dresses to her office. I was able to try on the dresses, with her pinning them to see how it would fit if alterations were needed. These were beautiful dresses and I had one that I really liked. However, even though I didn't intend on buying a dress, one did catch my eye and I ended up not renting with her. Overall- 1. I was referred to Ann by the manager of our reception venue, who had worked with her numerous times. Unfortunately, my experience with her was NOT that positive. Ann was hard to get a hold of, was unclear in her written and verbal communications, and given the fact that my husband and I were planning from a distance, this created a lot of headache. When she did respond, she often said she was busy and would get back to me days later. After each conversation, I was always left feeling uncertain that she truly understood what I was asking. For clarity, I provided Ann with an annotated list of items needed, complete with pictures and positions. I had to go over these items with her numerous times because I never got the impression she fully understood what I was asking for. And when she asked to be paid the full amount upfront, I was legitimately worried she wasn't going to do what she promised and would walk away without being held accountable. The worst part was that on the day of the wedding, her team arrived LATE and were still setting up by the time guests were arriving. Our guests had to wait in the front of the restaurant as Ann's team set up. She didn't even show up that day in person to supervise. As for the decorations themselves, they were only partially what we asked for: the napkins and chair sashes were the right color, and the photo backdrops were the correct design. She also provided some nice flowers for the cake. BUT the cake itself was not what we asked for, the sweetheart table had the incorrect table cloth, the sweetheart backdrop and centerpieces didn't have the lights we had requested. Overall, the presentation was still good, but I didn't appreciate that she and her team weren't able to accommodate the simple, clear requests we had made and confirmed with her numerous times. I would not recommend working with Ann: her lack of attention to detail is not worth the exorbitant prices she charges. read more

My partner and I needed simple decorations for the venue which included chair covers and a photo backdrop. We worked with Ann in person to select and coordinate the colors. On the day of the event, Ann's team was very prompt on completing decorations on 300 chairs, as well as setting up the photo backdrop, before guests arrived. Clean up was also very smooth and we were able to vacate the premise on time. Ann's company also provided a day-of photographer service for a competitive price and Johnny was very easy to work with. My wife found Ann through other Yelp recommendations when we wanted to hire someone to do our chair covers for our wedding reception in July 2018. At least, that's what we initially needed... ...but after meeting Ann in person and having her show us all the beautiful examples of decorations she has done for past weddings, we were immediately convinced that we also wanted her to do our curtain backdrop behind our sweetheart table, as well as all decorations for the sweetheart table and cake table! I was referred to Ann by my cousin, who had her wedding back in 2011. I was planning my own wedding at the San Leandro Marina Community Center for June 2018. Originally I was only going to order table/chair linen from Ann, however given how empty the hall was (since decorations were not included with the venue), I knew I needed more help. I ended up hiring Ann and her team for decorating the entire hall (including the center stage), tables and chairs, table centerpieces, flowers for the cake, as well as my bouquet and my husband's boutonniere. From the moment I contacted Ann for quotes, to meeting with her in-person, to meeting me at the wedding venue to go over the details, Ann was/is phenomenal. She listened to what I wanted from color, style, and would also give me her honest opinion which I appreciated. She is very honest with you on what is possible within your budget and what isn't. With that in mind, I showed her sample pictures of what I wanted and she made it better than I had envisioned! Many of our wedding guests, and especially my husband, said the decorations were beautiful. Ann would always text me or call me to confirm and make sure we were on the same page.
