I visited my AAA branch to renew the registration on both of my vehicles. There was very little waiting and the staff was friendly, and I achieved what I had come in for in a timely manner. I would recommend AAA to everyone. I am however amazed that not many people are aware that AAA offers DMV services and they can avoid going to DMV and the long waits. read more

Friday I went to the AAA office in Modesto to renew my vehicle registration. In addition to that task, I also had to remove a name both from the registration and from the vehicle ownership. I was fairly certain that provided with the proper paperwork, AAA could perform tasks one and two; but I was extremely and favorably surprised to learn they could also assist with task three. I left the office after a 5 minute wait and perhaps10 minutes of business transactions with a friendly, courteous, and helpful employee, and with all three tasks accomplished. read more

So I went to pay my bill by phone today after changing my billing address, I was told because of where I live, I would have to pay more. I have a clean driving record, and hope to keep it that way. The AAA agent failed to tell me that If I moved, my Auto Rate would increase depending on area. I now have to pay 554 dollars a year more because of where I live. That's discrimination. They lost a customer, and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

While most AAA branches are helpful and offer a variety of services, this branch on Coffee Road in Modesto California is the worst. The branch manager is a walking example of discombobulation! The branch is messy, envelopes all over the floor. The map machine is always out of service. The wait at the DMV section is always a long wait. The staff looks like "deer the headlight" unaware or confused to what's going on. It's a prime example of a mismanaged branch, where leadership is unorganized and lost. I was present there today. Long lines at the DMV section. Some people were wearing mask, others were not. One guy was visibly sick. (coughing and sneezing) No clear direction of where the line started. Some people were just walking in. Others were lining up beside the building. No CSAA employee to direct people to where to go or stand. I saw a very elderly lady with a cain laboring to stand, she was not offered a seat or place to wait comfortably. Again, most CSAA branches are fine, but who ever is running this branch is obvious to the members needs. read more

This insurance company is TRASH! If you aren't a member, They will treat you like dirt. One of their drivers hit my wife in a mercedes I had just bought her, and the lousy company only offered her chump change in a settlement. Never in my life would I let ANYONE in my family or friends try to join AAA. I took my 83 year old grandmother to the Modesto branch on Friday 1/22 at Noon. We parked in the disabled parking area, and walked in the front door. The "covid bouncer" promptly stopped and asked "What are you doing?" I told her we are here for dmv services. She said "Did you even read the sign you just walked past? You need to go back outside so I can help you." I realized there was a sign facing the parking lot that we didnt see because we came in behind it. So we step outside, and she proceeds to yell at my Grandmother to "STAND ON THE X!" She was 10+ feet away from us and there wasnt anyone else waiting. There was absolutely no reason for her to treat my grandmother that way. She tells me only one person is allowed inside, and I cannot go in with her to help. She gets us the paperwork we need to fill out. No pen. No clipboard. Tells me to go to the car to fill it out. (Its cold and raining) So we go to the car, I scrounge up a pen. I go back to ask for a clipboard. When I ask for a clipboard, she responds "What are you going to do with it? You cant take it home. I need that back." At this point, I'm annoyed. "I'm not going to keep it. You told us to fill out the paperwork in the car." I have had AAA personally in the past, and always had good service. Her rude disposition with all of the customers (not just me) was completely out of line and uncalled for. Today, I saw a complaint on a local FB group and realized that it wasn't just a grumpy woman having a bad day. Apparently she thinks this type of customer service is ok. I understand there are covid restrictions. We had to return to the office 3 times because they wouldn't let me in to help with my grandmothers paperwork. I visited this branch yesterday looking to add a vehicle to my existing policy. I was greeted cheerfully by Mr. Vargas, and as we made small talk everything seemed fine. He gave me a business card which he set on desk. Things started going south when he realized I was not a new member. I do not have a great driving record and he made sure I was aware of it. He proceeded to make comments on how insurance for my vehicle was going to be out the roof. Gave me 2 quotes I asked if could have them print out in which he said to just take a pic of monitor. He quickly told me I should shop around with other company's that I would get a better quote. He was dismissive and unprofessional. As we ended the conversation he took back his business card and said I would not need it since I already had an agent in my profile. I was in shock and walked out confused. After years of being a loyal customer I'm looking into taking my business elsewhere. read more

All I can say is that it really pays to have AAA when problems hit. I had, that is HAD a 2005 subaru Baja Turbo. I won't bore you with all the details. Oh yes I will. 1. The turbo blew up. AAA came got me, took me home. The next day AAA came and hauled the car to the dealer to be repaired. 2. The damn thing caught on fire. AAA came and took me home. The next day they came and hauled me to the dealer again. 3. It stopped running on the 99 freeway. Again guess who came to my rescue? Yep, AAA again. 4. I AAA when I need to register one of my cars I go in and get my registration work done. The registration convenience alone is worth the 110 bucks or so I pay for membership (walk in, no appointment registration took 10 minutes). The other benefits is 200 mile tow radius to cover a couple of my older vehicles '70 stepside and my convertible. I like the fact that with a 200 mile tow radius I can generally tow my vehicle to my personal shop rather than rely on getting a repair from an unknown repair facility. I opted for the expensive plan to cover my older vehicles. There are numerous other benefits like discounts at just about any place you do business and travel services for when I am not using the car. When my convertible had a ghost wire problem that killed the engine at the most inopportune times; AAA was a godsend at almost any hour of the day, they were there flat tow my vert. The list goes on and on what you can do with a AAA membership. Whats nice about Modesto AAA is the staff is always quick to help you and they excel in exceptional customer service. By the way AAA membership rates start at a cost substantially less than 110 or so dollars, my Gucci rate is a security blanket for my collectible vehicles. AAA also covers roadside service for any sled I barrow. read more

These people are unbelievable. Don't do business here, they lie and call it miscommunication. They sold me auto insurance and we have been there four times looking to register our car. Waited in line a half hour only to be told they don't do transfers after 4:30. I won't even be renewing my membership. 2 stars because initial meeting and quote were great but I subtracted 3 stars for very poor follow up service. I left several messages, emails and follow up calls to my agent and her associate for weeks with no return call. I have been freaking out since my bank card had been switched due to the Target fiasco and I was trying to provide my new bank account info. Since I have a brand new car I wanted to make sure I am covered. I even provided my bank card info to my agent per her request the one return email she actually did. So this woman now has my bank account info for weeks but hasn't charged my account. I had to take an extra long lunch but I went there in person to handle my business. The guy I met with today was great and took care of me in seconds!!! He was nice and reassured me there was no lapse in coverage. Sorry I didn't catch his name. I guess little miss 'Janeece' couldn't take a minute out of her day or her assistant either! Still not happy. I will not be referring anyone to sign up that's for sure. read more

Paid for a membership to use dmv services offered at the local AAA....waited in line for 15 mins...only to be told by one of their staff that they're unable to process certain payment types. I had cash and card and they were only accepting checks as a form of payment...really?! Who still uses checks?! They had no idea when their systems were going to be back up and running. One time me and my mom were at vintage fair mall. We came back to the car after spending 1 and 1/2 hours at the apple store and just then I realized that my mom left her keys in the car...... So I've been AAA Plus member since 2015. Called 3 weeks ago regarding a blown out tire. 45 min after, the service person shows up and within minutes, replaced my blown out tire with a spare and left. Five minutes into driving on spare tire and about to enter the fwy ramp to get to my mechanic, the car starts to rattle and my spare tire blows out as well! Luckily I wasn't on the fwy or I could've caused an accident or been in one! It was nerve-wracking to say the least! I drive my rattling car home and called customer service at AAA to tell them of my scary ordeal and all they had to say was that it wasn't their responsibility and that the service people they send are not qualified to check spare tires!!!!???? Isn't that their job? To make sure they check safety measures when changing a tire?? If that's not what they're qualified for, why are they even there? Long story short, I sent in emails and phone calls, all mounting to nothing. They even said their management will tell me the same...they're not responsible for anything!! So may I ask, what exactly am I paying for at AAA? I called to cancel membership and they said it can't be refunded because I've used their service! Seriously??? Service that could have caused an accident! Is this how AAA treat their All I asked for was to cancel my membership and refund this year's fee...and they won't even do that? Terrible customer service from this branch. Dealt with John Lynch for over a decade and was with AAA for 40 years until they together started treating me like I wasn't even a paying member. John Lynch knew I was living check to check yet still lied and scammed me by telling me I had to have AAA membership (which cost me $100) before I could renew my renters insurance. What a guy ! Not only do I love the road side assistance you get, but if you need to do basic dmv functions like car tags and registration, you will be far better off going here. I'm currently waiting on AAA towing service which I called to and requested at 7:11 PM and it is now 10:11 PM. I called a second time somewhere in between the wait to which I was informed my driver would be arriving 20-45 minutes later. Displayed on the map feature provided through the text it showed my tow was on its way and actually really near by. After then anticipating the arrival of the tow truck, I received a call informing me my tow truck driver decided to go "help someone else" and so his location on the map appeared across town now. It is entirely frustrating that I feel as though I am not safe because it has become so dark since the time I originally called for a tow truck and am now waiting for the 3rd hour now. read more

I have visited this branch three times recently for DMV services and have been completely satisfied with my experiences. My most recent transaction was rather complex requiring many additional forms. The associate handled the transaction in a very efficient manner and the result was perfect. I was in and out of AAA in ten minutes! I also went to DMV with an appointment yesterday for a transaction that could not be handled by AAA. That visit took over an hour AND I HAD AN APPOINTMENT! Somewhat friendly staff but for the amount of people that work there doing nothing you'd think there'd be more people trained on operating the register to make the one and only line go faster. The fact that they don't divide and conquer dmv stuff with membership stuff with travel and ticket stuff is beyond wasteful and very inefficient.
