We chose Gold Star because of their 4.9 rating on Yelp, which would indicate great quality and service. Although I appreciate Gold Star for helping replace my 2 FOB's, in reviewing the overall experience I'd rate them from a 3 to 3 1/2. Here are my reasons: PRO's * They were about $400 less then the dealership, which was huge plus. * They cleared all the previous FOB's from the computer and the new one's seem to work well. CON's * Slow Delivery - After paying a $250+ desposit for the FOB's they stated 5-7 business days for the order to come in. In reality it was closer to about 16 business days. * Poor communication - We called and texted multiple times to ask when the new FOB/keys would come in with a very slow response. Additionally when it came time to bring the car in for service, we tried numerous times to coordinate a time which took about 2 days. * Craftsmanship - Neither of the 2 keys that were cut by them worked on the door lock's. Since we live 20+ miles away a second trip to cut the keys again, is a significant hassle. Fortunately for us we were able to use the older keys from the original FOB's. Since all's well that end's well, I bump them up to a 3.5 rating. read more

I came here after accidentally breaking my key fob because I was very impressed with all the great reviews. I came here and got a new key fob for my car for only $120 i was very happy with the price and was on my way! Then... one day the battery in the key fob died and I didn't switch it out right away. So about a week after the battery died I changed it out BUT the key fob no longer worked. I knew the battery was good because the red light flashed when I pressed a button but I could no longer unlock/lock the doors or open the trunk. So, I came back to the shop to tell them my situation but he said the warranty expired (this was maybe 4 months after getting the key). So I ended up just going to a dealership to have a key fob made, was it expensive? Yes, but at least I don't have to worry about my key disconnecting from the car after the battery dies.
