Comfortable waiting area in the lobby

I really appreciated the great customer service and facilities at this AAA repair center. Note: AAA members should definitely try this place out since they give discounts and free rides home for members! Details: The services provided made sense to me and the charges seemed appropriate (everything is expensive these days!). They did their best to diagnose and fix the strange issue my 2010 Honda was having. I liked that they emailed an itemized breakdown of recommended services that I could review in advance of discussing with them. They did not push or do a "hard sell," which I really appreciated. They worked on my car efficiently and gave updates well. It was great that they utilized email, text, and phone appropriately and they were easy and professional to communicate with. The waiting area was very nice and comfortable, with restrooms and wifi! They even provided rides to and from the center which made it much more accessible even though it was a bit of a distance from my house. Thanks, Eric and Alan, for a great experience- I'll be back for sure!

With the Stay Home 4 NV slowly petering out, we began looking for a mechanic close to home. AAA Auto Repair Center on Sunset fits that bill. Convenient location & hours, we thought to give them a try. Figured we'd call & get an appointment first. I'm not wild about sitting in a waiting room if I don't have to. Come to find out, they won't allow it at this time anyway. It's located where an old Sears auto shop used to be. David met me outside (wearing a mask) in the parking lot as I parked, with my work order in his hand. As we were new customers, he verified all the information & took the keys. The Mrs had followed me & we went home, waiting for a phone call to return. It was a couple of hours before we got that call. All in all, a good experience for our first visit. David was friendly & very neighborly. We also received a very nice stainless steel water bottle as a gift. We will be back.

Not only did they diagnose and fix the transmission problem, but they also discovered other issues I had no idea about. They took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me so I understood exactly what was going on with my truck. What really stood out was their communication. They kept me updated the entire time--whether it was parts being ordered, delays in delivery, or progress on the repairs. I was never left wondering what was happening, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. They even provided pictures showing the damaged parts side by side with the new ones, which really showed their transparency and attention to detail. On top of that, they made sure to test drive the truck to confirm everything was running smoothly before handing it back to me. They also stepped in and corrected a mistake made by my warranty parts vendor, which could have easily turned into a much bigger headache. That level of honesty and dedication is hard to find. Overall, Sonny's Auto Repair is professional, thorough, and truly cares about their customers. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants quality work, and clear communication.

First clue shoulda been when I asked them to please fill the brake reservoir and steering fluid,…read moreand I was told that would cost 150.00 for each. $300.00 for both!! I declined, and then the gal comes back in and says, " I'm sorry, he wrong. It ain't not gonna cost nuthin'." I jokingly said, "so if it ain't not going cost nothing, how much will it cost?? She didn't understand her use of a double negative indicating it would cost 'something'. As soon as I left the property it was very clear neither brake nor steering fluid had been touched, so I went to an auto parts store to buy both brake and steering fluids. It was THEN I learned Jiffy Lube had broken my brake fluid cap. How do I KNOW it was them? Because 30 mins earlier I'd had a smog test and the mechanic there told me "your steering sounds low on fluid," so whole in his shop I popped the hood and checked em both. That's what inspired me to visit this Jiffy Lube whose work is now very suspect in my mind. I called the Jiffy Lube location and the manager was out, but I was promised a return call that never came. It cost $15.00 to replace the cap they broke, not to mention the time finding one, and then getting under the truck to be sure the oil plug has been properly reinstalled. I won't be returning, obviously, because what "ain't not gonna cost nuthin'" could have been very spendy had I not checked their work.

Unfortunately, our experience with this shop was extremely disappointing…read more We originally brought our car in on June 29 to have the shocks replaced. After picking it up, we immediately noticed a clunking noise that had not been present before the repair. When we brought the vehicle back, we were told an additional part needed to be ordered. From there, communication became a major issue. Days passed without any updates, and our attempts to reach the shop went unanswered. However, after my wife posted a negative review, we received an immediate response and were told to bring the car back in. The new part was installed, but the problem persisted. At that point, we were told a "brand-name" replacement part would need to be ordered instead (why is he not using brand name products?). While we understand that repairs don't always go as planned, we were left without confidence in the reliability of our vehicle and received very little proactive communication throughout the process. By July 8, we still had not heard anything, so I called to check on the status. During that call, the owner informed me that the part had actually arrived the day before and that he was planning to call us to bring it in "within the next few days." After already waiting more than a week, this was frustrating. What bothered us most was the way our concerns were handled. When I explained that we were unhappy with how the situation had been managed, the owner immediately became defensive. At one point, he told me that he "isn't responsible for my emotions." When I expressed concern that we had been left without reliable transportation, he responded that the car was "completely fine to drive." Given the ongoing noise and unresolved repair issue, this was not reassuring. A quick google search proved that the statement was not only incorrect but negligible and could have caused major damage to the car. When I asked whether we could receive a refund and take the vehicle elsewhere, he said that refunds were not available. The conversation became increasingly unproductive and hostile, and he eventually refused to discuss the matter further because my wife had signed the paperwork rather than me, despite the fact that I was present when the vehicle was dropped off. Shortly after the call, he texted my wife and stated that after installing the new part, he no longer wanted to service her vehicle because I had been "rude" to him on the phone. To be clear, I never raised my voice, used profanity, or became disrespectful. I simply expressed that we were unhappy with how the situation had been handled and wanted to explore our options. Our frustration comes from the lack of communication, the delays, and the dismissive and defensive responses we received when trying to resolve the problem. Additionally, we were completely turned off by the fact that the parts he uses is not of good enough quality that would prevent this issue from the first place. It took three total installations to resolve the matter, the first two was with his own parts that failed, the third was with a brand name that worked. In the end, we were left feeling unheard, unsafe, and without confidence in either the repair, the customer service or the shop. Based on our experience, we would not return and cannot recommend this shop. EDIT: I had a feeling that the owner would reply. But as you can see, there's nothing that addresses the way he treated us just that he repaired the car. Yes, he repaired the car after failing to do so the first 2 times he worked on it. He let us drive off twice with an impaired car that was caused by him. Guess all that he cares about is doing the work EVENTUALLY, not doing it right or doing it well the first time. AVOID.

I received an email confirmation and drove about 20 minutes to get there. When I arrived, there were two employees standing at the counter and no customers. I showed them my appointment confirmation, but they told me they didn't have it in their system and had already closed everything out for the day--even though the business doesn't close until 7:00 PM. The employee then explained that the phone number goes through a third-party scheduling company and that they have had a lot of problems with that company. As I explained to him, I'm the customer. Whatever issues exist between your business and the third-party company you use are not my responsibility. I called the number provided, scheduled an appointment, received confirmation, showed up on time, and expected my appointment to be honored. Instead of trying to help or find a solution, the employee was rude and dismissive and basically told me that because the appointment wasn't showing on his end, there was nothing he could do. He offered an appointment the next morning, but I had a nail in my tire and needed it addressed that evening. Very disappointing customer service. I will not be returning to this location and would not recommend it. If your business uses a third-party company to schedule appointments, customers should not be penalized for problems between your company and that service.
