This review really applies to the AAA service as opposed to this particular location. Last night I locked my keys in my car picking up take out from Applebee's at the South Bay Center. I initiated a roadside service request via the AAA Auto Club app. I received a call from their dispatch a minute or two later informing me the driver was en route and around the corner after I confirmed my location and name. About a minute or two after I hung up he arrived and before I had a chance to blink he carefully pried the passenger side door open and was able to unlock it without doing any damage. Needless to say I was floored. It took less than ten minutes for my issue to be resolved and I was on my way home. I've been a AAA member for years but last night was the smoothest, most efficient and best possible service I have ever received. A special shout out to Dwayne, the driver, who made sure I had my keys before he left. I couldn't be happier to be a AAA member right now. read more

PLEASE READ... I called to have my car towed on a October 22, 2012 to Sunny Side in Nashua @ 6am. The man who showed up was upset that he had to tow my car, proceeded to tell me he wasn't getting paid and tried to get out of towing it by telling me that he couldn't tow my car due to what I said the cause was. Both O2 sensors where gone and the car was not running right and I felt driving it would only cause more issues. Plus having aaa PLUS I thought covered me. Later that day I went to pick my car up and found a huge box shaped dent in the front bumper. I called AAA to have someone come out and look at the car and see the damage that was done. I was told they where not going to cover the damage! After going back and forth I was given ever excuses in the book. Here is a list of reason that came coming at me as the conversation when on. 1. It doesn't look like one of our trucks did the damage. 2. You where not there to see the damage done! 3. You can't prove that the driver did the damage. 4. You are supposed to drive with the tow truck! So pretty much I was pushed around and given ever excuses in the books. It was one after another. So not to self never call AAA to tow my car at 6am when or when someone is changing shifts. I will be bringing this to court. I will not sit back and be taken for, and after reading so many other reviews about AAA they seem to get away with murder when it comes to stuff like this. read more

I financed an auto loan through AAA last July and purchased GAP insurance for $349 for the life of the loan. I recently re-financed the loan at a lower interest rate with DCU and was told by them to contact AAA to get my pro-rated GAP insurance refunded. I was informed by AAA that I would have had to cancel the GAP insurance within 60 days of the loan in order to get a refund, which they did not tell me when I purchased it, and they are keeping the $300! I am beyond frustrated and can't believe an organization like AAA would be this unfair. So don't purchase GAP insurance if you think you might refinance the loan....you'll lose it! I am very unhappy! read more

The worst customer service experience of my life; it should not have taken anywhere near 10 hours to service us---we were stranded in Jamaica Plain (a Boston neighborhood), and all we needed was a lousy jump start. If I had known how stunningly incompetent and inefficient AAA was going to be I would've just called a local body shop or something (I did call some friends but they were unavailable or had no cables). Here is a transcript of our adventure with Roadside Assistance for your enjoyment: Friday 3:28pm Called 866 number, described car and location and need for a jump start, were told to wait 2 or 3 hours 5:23pm Called 866 number, were told to wait another hour 7:13pm Received call from dispatch, informed us our car was covered in snow, we responded our car had no snow on it so they were looking at the wrong car (even though we had earlier specified the correct color, make, model, and license number), we said we would come out right away to meet the driver, they said "OK". We got to the car in 3 minutes and they were gone. You see, we were repeatedly told the driver/dispatch would call us several minutes in advance of arriving to give us a chance to walk to the car (it was below freezing outside), but this did not happen. 7:21pm Called again, were told our case was marked as an error and we were put on a "priority list" and should wait at most an hour 9:30pm Called again, the operator had no idea about the error marking or the priority list, but told us a "wrecker" vehicle had been sent to us but the street was too narrow, so they were looking for a smaller vehicle to send (even though a driver had allegedly already been on the street around 7:15pm) 10:30pm Called again, told to wait up to an hour, we decided to give up and take a cab home Saturday 11:30am Called again, explained the situation, the operator was unable to find old reference number 9246 as it had apparently been deleted already, were told we would receive a call back soon with an estimated time. We never received such a call. 1pm - 2pm Several more calls back and forth telling us the driver is 10 minutes away or 30 minutes away, during which we sat in the disabled car, which was very cold, because we didn't want the driver to look at the wrong car and leave again. 2:02pm Received a call, told (again) driver was en route, driver arrived in 15 minutes At no time was any specific explanation given for the poor service. I can't speak to any of AAA's other services, but I strongly recommend you do not depend on Roadside Assistance unless you enjoy being stranded in freezing temperatures for hours and hours on end while AAA operators lie through their teeth. read more

I decided to get a new (to me!) car when my old vehicle needed major repairs. I applied for an auto loan through AAA and they set me up with a loan through Rockland Federal Credit Union with a great rate. I was thoroughly impressed with JoAnn, Andelle, and Alyssa (Boston office) who all made the loan closing happen in record time (which was great since I've been sharing a car with my husband...) All 3 were very friendly, responsive and helpful which took a lot of stress off of me. AAA is fortunate to have these women representing them!!! JoAnn also made me aware of other services (free!) that AAA provides that would save me money!!!! read more

Talk about convenient. Rather than waiting at the RMV for two hours, AAA helped me renew my license in just about 10 minutes.

I visited the High Street, Boston branch to order foreign currency. Everyone was helpful, very professional, and my currency was ready to be picked up earlier than expected. This will definitely be my first choice for future trips. read more

I booked a trip on AAA.com. The webpage was confusing and I didn't see where to pre-pay for the trip. I called the toll free number they routed me to for support at night where I have been waiting more than 32 minutes. No help yet. I have been a member of AAA for more than 20 years. I recently had my license renewed at the financial district AAA location and I could not have been happier. The wait at the Revere DMV was listed as over two hours and I was second in line at the AAA. I absolutely love AAA, thank you for the fantastic customer service and all you do! My membership pays for itself 10x over every year. This trip alone was worth it not to mention hotel discounts , Payless shoe discounts and others I use throughout the year. On a side note you also unlocked my car in less than 15 min this year too. read more

Customer service is great! I bought American Express gift cards there, and the AAA agent informed me that my license needed to be renewed and I renew it there, along with my registration. They do get busy, so I would suggest not going during lunch time. read more

What started out as high hopes was followed by horrendous customer service. Went in to renew my license and avoid the long lines at the rmv so this was the most convenient location. Went in and started the normal process, ids, eye exam, picture but was then told there was an issue. Granted this issue turned out to be with the registry but AAA dropped the ball completely with the dismal customer service. I went in on a Monday and was told that they would call me back the next day to give me an update. No call, so gave them the benefit of doubt and said maybe there was no change and they would call the following day. No call again so I decided to give them a call. I had the person that was helping me with the issue 4 digit extension, (John) and no answer so I left a voicemail hoping he would return my call. Another day goes by and still nothing so I call AAA again. AAA has a call routing service that routes your call to the nearest available branch in order to "better assist" their customers but when I spoke to the rep and asked to be transferred to the Boston branch again it was "busy" and no one answered. I called the direct line again and still no answer. I decided to wait on the regular 800 number line and have them try to connect me to the Boston branch again. When the operator answered I asked to speak with John or whoever was in charge at the Boston branch and they asked to put me on a brief hold again. I spent 20 minutes on hold again only to be disconnected. Now I'm losing patience and need to speak to someone before my license expires. I call the back office and ask to speak directly to the manager and they ask for my information and assure me that the manager will call me back. Incredibly the manager Pierre calls me back and tries to tell me that their phone system went down and they couldn't call me. It has now been a week and my license is due to expire in 2 days and it's Friday so the rmv is closed on the weekend. They assure me that the issue will be resolved by Monday and that they would call me. No call so I go back to the actual office and there is John and Pierre both on the telephone so I wait until he becomes available. John waves to Pierre to say he will help me since he was the original person that didn't call me back. I wait and wait for him to get off the phone which apparently is working again only to inform me that I'll have to go to the rmv and that they can't do anything. If you try to use AAA for registry services DON'T. You will deal with worse customer service than the RMV and that is saying something. These people deliberately avoid your calls and won't follow through on their word. AAA should be reported to the BBB for their horrendous customer service. read more

Three words to describe - liars, cheats and incompetent. I had a dead battery incident and my car got stuck in the middle of the road on a cold November morning. When I called AAA 'emergency' line, it had a wait time to connect to the 'emergency' service, then a million questions to answer, these idiots could not locate my membership information, then claimed it to be expired and then found it, and then provided 30 min estimate. I explained to the guy than I am standing in the middle of the road with the cops and it is causing traffic hazard. He said he cannot expedite 'emergency' service. Finally, the cops moved the car to the side by pushing it. After 30 min, when AAA did not show up, I asked a garage around, paid $20 out of pocket to jumpstart the battery and reached the service station. In the end, AAA guy called 60+ min after the initial call! Is this 'emergency' service. AAA never reimbursed this $20 and never apologized for their incompetence. AAA used to be good when they believed in customer service and understood what emergency means. Now, they only believe in charging money without providing service. read more

WOW, Judy at the High St office needs to find new job where she doesn't have to deal with the public. I called to find out why my membership card was not received when the secondary account holder's did. After pulling teeth just to get her name, I was told "We mailed it, if you want another it will cost you $5". I don't want another, I want the original card never mailed to me. Got the run around from Pierre, who identified himself as the manager. I will wait another few days. If no card I will make a call to the corporate offices in RI. Amazing how what should have been a simple call for a replacement card became a battle for someone to lose the attitude. read more

I used this AAA location to renew my car registration, and made it through the whole process in about 15 minutes. I will never go back to the RMV if I can help it. It'd be great to have this feature in more AAA locations as well. read more

I had just received the AAA Newsletter in the mail and read that their offices were working with the RMV. Timing is everything as I needed a new picture for my license renewal. I walked to their High Street Office on my lunch hour and the whole process took no more than 15 minutes. If I had gone to the RMV I'm sure I would have been there for at least an hour. If you are going to use this travel agency book your trip with Tom. Please DO NOT ever use Frida as a travel agent. I went in to set up a trip to Costa Rica for 9 days. She stated she was "the premier expert on Costa Rica" yet had no knowledge of distance or how long it takes to travel between different areas of the country as I would come to find out later. She booked me at a 4 star hotel that was under massive construction, infested with ants, cockroaches and black mold. I was told it would take 4 hours to transfer from one hotel to another, it actually took almost 9 hours with no traffic. I wasted over 2 days of my trip because of her ignorance. I should have known better considering she orignally tried to convince me to schedule my trip for the middle of the rainy season. Several co-workers of mine have had similar experience's with her and she just so happens to be "the premier expert" on whatever country or state you may be traveling to. I ended up finishing my travel arrangements with another agent Tom and he went above and beyond fixing any mistakes she had made to be sure that my trip was wonderful. If he had not been so fantastic I would never go back there again. read more

I have never been treated with as much disregard and lack of care as I was by AAA last night. I called at 6:00 PM to get a jump, with and estimated arrival time of 7:13. At 7:15 I called back to get an update to be told someone would be there no later than 7:43. At 7:45 I called back and the operator said the dispatcher would call me directly with an update. The dispatcher called while I was still on the phone with the operator and said the drive was a mile away and would be there in 10-15 minutes, if not sooner. I called again at 8:10 and was put on hold for 5 minutes without the operator returning. I called back immediately and after a lengthy hold, again I was told the drive was 2 miles away. I asked for the drive to be changed, since it was obvious this one was unprofessional and unable to locate me in a place as remote as downtown Boston. I was told dispatch would call me back with an update. I decided I had been abused enough and would go home. My plan was to cancel the pick up when the promised call from dispatch came. At 8:57 I got a call and the person on the other end said, "I'm at your car, where are you?" How is this acceptable for a company I pay to be a member of? read more
