Good hours, have a notary, people have always been nice and seemingly competent and the line is always short.

I've been a member for about 12 years because it came through a job I had. The no-ATM-fees…read more(anywhere, ever) is the best thing about this place. I can't speak to loans as I never took one from here. But the online/app/distant ATM experience has been increasingly frustrating for the last year or two. "Upgrade" should always be used in quotation marks no matter the business, but the bugs are ridiculous and this time around there's been no response to two requests to fix things. I no longer live in MA, but for the first year or so in my new neighborhood (and all over the country and the world), ATMs worked fine. Then in summer 2019, they (literally) overnight started rejecting transactions. The explanation was that the machines (not supported by Metro) didn't have the right security features, but they had the day before, so...? And this latest upgrade is so far not horrible, but at least two regular monthly transactions have changed or been dropped and I'm guessing my emails are waiting in a queue somewhere. Not worth it anymore.

I had a small mortgage with them. $30,000. My interest rate was only 2.75%. During the term of the…read moremortgage FEMA determined (in error) my home was in a flood zone. Metro contacted me and told me I needed flood insurance. I purchased $70,000 in flood insurance. I got a letter from them that they accepted my insurance at the amount I purchased. Banking rules and FEMA rules both state that financial institutions cannot make you purchase more insurance than you could owe them. A year later Metro contacted me and told me I needed to purchase $500,000 in flood insurance. I sent them copies of the banking rules. They didn't care. I asked to speak to the underwriters that made this change. They refused to let me speak to anyone with authority over this unfair business practice. While I was trying to work with them they purchased the $500,000 policy at my expense. I had no choice but to refinance with another credit union who confirmed there was no need to purchase more than I owed them. I believe Metro intentionally forced me out because mortgage rates had risen to 7% and they weren't making enough profit on me. Unfair business practices against banking rules. I was with them for over 10 years. Beware of this institution, they are crooks. I'd rate them -10 if I could.

Jessica, the bank teller, showed extremely poor customer service skills. I explained right away…read morethat I was making a deposit and had cash in two separate places, asking her to please give me a moment. As I reached for my wallet and began pulling out my debit card, she asked, "Do you have your debit card with you?"--even though she was literally watching me pull it out. I handed her the first portion of cash, and she immediately asked, "Is this all?" No--it wasn't, and I had already told her I had cash in two separate places. She could have started counting what I'd given her while I unlocked a different compartment in a different bag to get the envelope with the rest. Instead, it felt like she wasn't paying attention at all.

Chase is a giant corporate juggernaut that doesn't actually care about you. Remember that... they…read moretreated me like crap (in branch on the phone) etc when I had a very large amount of money on deposit. Left and went to first republic and unfortunately needed up back with them. Went from a great experience with no fees at first republic to fee hell. My so paid almost $50 in fees the day before for wires, a sheet of checks etc. and no one said a thing. When I expressed at how unhappy I was, then sudddle there are answers... no one offered her a solution the day before. The worst thing is that the manager kept trying to engage me into trying to talk to some about the constant and consistent poor service I had when i had 25x amount I have with them. She was too inept in customer service to realize that she was getting no where other than pissing me off. And that continuing inept customer service is supposed to get me to want to stay? Not listening to me and pisssing me off is a customer service strategy? Watching a customer get visibly frustrated, angry and seeing the views coming to the surface of their neck is a sign you are doing f the right thing?
