I came here because I honestly didn't trust the Walgreens near me to have someone who knew how to take a passport photo.

I went on a trip to Eastern Europe with my School and to be honest with you, I loved it but our…read moretour guide was honestly not very nice halfway through the trip, then at the end of our trip, at the airport, she got into a screaming match with one of the workers because the worker started yelling at us and telling us we need to go somewhere else and not be in that line; and you know what, our tour guide gained my respect for that. She got into a huge argument and fought for a bunch of stupid highschool kids. I would highly recommend EF tours to anyone who is young or old and doesn't know how to plan out a vacation. Thank you EF Tours for a great experience and to my tour guide, I know we may not have been great friends but you stuck up for us in the end and that is all that matters and I highly respect you for that. Can not say enough good things about my trip!

I had a very disappointing experience with EF Educational Tours customer service…read more I contacted the company two months before the deadline they imposed to request flexibility regarding my situation. Reaching out well in advance, I expected at least a conversation or some level of understanding. Instead, the response I received was rigid and dismissive. There was no empathy, no attempt to offer alternatives, and no outreach to help resolve the issue. I was simply told that I could reach out again after the tour if I still needed assistance -- which defeats the entire purpose of contacting them proactively. For a company that works with families and students on expensive international travel experiences, I expected a much higher level of customer care. If flexibility and responsive customer service are important to you, you may want to think carefully before booking with EF. Based on my experience, their policies appear to take priority over people, even when customers reach out well in advance to try to resolve an issue.

They were the only company that had a bus available on the day of our trip. Between the time I…read morebooked and the day of our trip, I was called a couple of times with an offer of a discount should I pay the balance in full on Zell or Venmo, which felt fishy to me. I would only pay the balance when due on my credit card; in case something happened, I would be covered. Less than a week before our trip, I got an email saying the bus would not be available because they were waiting for a part to be repaired. I told them that since I had paid in full, it was their responsibility to find another bus. After many phone calls and emails to them, they assured me we would have a bus. The person I spoke to told me to "take a tablet", I guess he meant take a chill pill. I had 38 people who had paid for a lovely day trip on a dinner train, and I was nervous they would not come through with the bus. Thankfully, they sent a bus with a great bus driver. I told him we were already charged a driver gratuity, $216, because I wanted to make sure he was aware and to ask for it. He said the company never gives them the tips. I hope he did get his tip. I will never use this company again. They were too difficult to work with leading up to the trip. Also, my seat was broken, when the bus stopped short my seat went flying forward and I ended up on the floor. I was glad none of our seniors was sitting in the seat.

Let me walk you through what will happen if you book this awful company for your event:…read more They will be super nice to you until they get your money, at which point they will become impossible to get in touch with. You will realize something is fishy when the charge goes through an entirely different company called "Shofur." You will search for reviews of Shofur and realize they are a scam company using shell companies, like "Boston Charter Bus Company," in different localities in order to seem legitimate and hide the fact that they have tons of awful reviews. You will read horror stories of ruined events and weddings where they tried to get even more money out of helpless people by calling them the day of the event to say they haven't been able to find a bus, but perhaps they can work something out if you pay them even more. Or you will read horror stories where the buses actually did show up (often extremely late), only to be operated by hostile, dangerous drivers. You will be so concerned about this company ruining your wedding that you will request to cancel your booking (within the cancellation window). They will wait until you are outside of the window to respond. When you ask for your money back they will claim they need to review your request for 60 days. You will, of course, never hear from them again. If you try to get a charge back through your credit card company, it is possible your request will be rejected for unknown reasons, at which point you will be out the equivalent of a month's rent despite receiving absolutely no form of service from this sham of a company. So please, search Shofur. Read the numerous awful reviews and ignore the clearly fake 5-star ones they probably make their employees write for them. If you need buses for an event, contract an actually-local company that owns its own fleet of vehicles. I promise it will be cheaper and far less frustrating.

THIS is THE place to go for traveling to JAPAN…read more I booked a trip to Japan in the middle of my summer back at home in the SF Bay Area. Luckily, i found a round trip ticket for just under three weeks to Tokyo from SF for under a grand. Still, I wanted to backpack through Japan, visit at least 4-5 cities, and fit everything into a modest budget. After some research online (and Japanese tourism has awesome research available), I stumbled upon IACE travel. The staff is SO nice. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing, and the girl that helped me out Ritsuko, sat with me for about 40 mins going through various sample trips and agendas, despite the fact that I had not bought a single thing! She walked me through where to eat, where to stay, how long to be there....just awesome. I walked in needing a JR Rail Pass, and when I got down to it, she was so efficient and helpful in getting me one. And I walked out with it. Even after, I emailed her my ideas and she helped me plan my trip around them. After the trip, my 17 days visiting Tokyo, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Sendai, Yokohama, Nara, and Mt. Fuji were amazing. And even though I could have gotten the JR pass somewhere else, I don't think I could have gotten better advice and trip planning help than here.

iace rules! Dec. 29th tickets purchased…read more My friend from Japan (an amazing plane ticket scammer, she came to Boston 2 January's ago for $600 even, round trip!) recommended the link to iace. I looked all year at the rise and non-fall of ticket prices to Tokyo. Her Tokyo wedding is in Jan. So, when Nov., Dec, rolled around, I felt like a bad planner. Who knew (well, perhaps baby Jesus knew?) that on Dec. 25th bored at my families gathering- I would click the link to find "round trip airfare to Tokyo Jan 3rd to Feb (something or other) $500*plus fuel!" This was cheaper than the $860-$1200 tickets I stalked all year round. The total came to $740 for a Jan. 17Th-Jan 27Th (Thurs- Sun) visit. I must declare that In my last minutes of planning there could be no deal finer. * will be updated after flight experience, potential problem's, etc...... **4 stars and not 5, why? because 5 stars would be a free ticket.
