We visited on a Friday night and got a seat at one of the bar tables. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Sadly, the conveyor belt wasn't on. Not sure if that is because of Covid or another reason but you ordered with a sheet of paper. So if you're expecting the conveyor belt experience, best to visit somewhere else. Every roll was delicious, and we also ordered the chicken teriyaki! The tea was piping hot and staff frequently checked on us for refills. Best to place an order quickly as the time between ordering and getting rolls is on the relaxed side. We had a great experience and left perfectly full. So many options, a lot of variety and the food was fresh and yummy. Nice servers. Rolls are 4 pieces. Nigiri 2 pieces (uni is 1). We got the house special (ok), spicy albacore (ok, not huge fan of albacore), Tokyo roll (yummy, how can you go wrong with shrimp tampura), salmon avocado roll (salmon pieces a bit small compared to other places), and white tuna nigiri (always deliciously fatty), and uni! Came around 6pm on a Wednesday night. Wasn't a wait, but the place was just about at capacity. Sadly the conveyor belt wasn't working. :( So we had to order off the check sheet. I grabbed four rolls all around 4-5 bucks. They came with 2-4 pieces each. I thought they all tasted good. I wasn't blown away but I did enjoy them! The people were nice but I felt like we were a little neglected. It took a long time between different steps of the process. And between the belt not working and the slow service I left not very satisfied. If the belt is working I'll come back, otherwise it might just be to-go. read more

Really good for the price. I was disappointed to find the conveyor belt was more of a decoration. You have to use the take out slips to pick your sushi, which would be ok if I knew portion sizes. Items come out like a conveyor belt in random order. It's also annoying when the appetizer items came out at the end. But they were super busy so I can understand. The sushi was really good. I left with leftovers which usually doesn't happen on the conveyor belt. The staff were great. No matter how busy it was the staff were there for you. Very friendly as well. This was for a visit back on 1/23/20 when kaiten sushi was most enjoyable preC19. I remember stopping in on a rainy weekday and welcomed warmly. I usually do kaiten sushi in the Northgate area, so this was a treat seeing what they offered at this Kirkland location. Staff were busy making all kinds of items at the start of the lunch rush. So literally I had a variety of fresh items placed in front of me. I did enjoy my lunch and recalling patting my full stomach heading back home. We discovered AA thru an Eastside foodie group, and it was probably during COVID when we first tried them out for takeout. Nice little shop, extremely clean, and massive variety on their menu. I think they were also conveyor prior to all of the imposed changes - and I haven't seen that return yet. What I have seen? These are the kindest people, so intently focused on quality and making sure your order meets expectations. I got this through Uber eats. 6 rolls, very pretty for delivery. I thought it was tasty, but my guest thought the tempura wasn't crunchy enough and felt not as fresh. I have not been this disappointed in a place in a long time. 1. I chose this place cause of the good reviews and I wanted conveyor belt sushi, but they had it off and were just taking orders by paper. No biggie though. 2. The wait wasn't too long to sit down on a weeknight dinner hour. 3. After ordering our food, it took 40 minutes to receive our first dish !! To make it worse, the first dish we got was miso soup!! It should not have taken that long to get miso soup which I assume is already premade and just needs to be scooped into a bowl. It was frustrating because we were watching two tables in front of us getting constantly served new dishes. The restaurant wasn't even busy it just seems like they forget about us. After we got our first round of food, we wanted to order more but we waited so long for our food that their kitchen has closed already and the waiter told us that we could not order more. One of the chefs did come out later and said we could order if we wanted something but we decided not to since we were already getting the bill. 4. To make everything worse, me and my friend both got food poisoning that night and the morning after :)))))))). Really wanted to like this place, but definitely will not be coming back. read more

Solid sushi place! Prior to the pandemic we enjoyed coming here with their conveyer belt experience. IMO, they're better than Sushiland - in terms of quality and freshness of ingredients! Would recommend the Atlantic salmon for an affordable solid option for salmon nigiri. They also have fancier cuts of salmon, which I've tried once or twice but I personally couldn't tell the difference. Rolls are great! I got the Olympia roll, fresh tuna nigiri, and mango Mochi.. their portion sizes really are spot on for their prices especially for people who like to try a few different rolls instead of just one giant roll! Since the stay at home order started, I joined a facebook group about eastside eats and I noticed a few people posting about aa Sushi and figured I'd give it a shot. I ordered ahead via chownow and picked it up. Something I was pleasantly surprised with, is the freshness of the fish considering this is normally a conveyor belt sushi restaurant and those aren't normally known for great sushi. I did get some nigiri but the main reason I decided to come here is so I could get multiple smaller rolls. The descriptions for each roll I took off of Chownow. Salmon & Crab: Cooked salmon, cucumber, crab salad wrap with pink soy wrap. This ended up having 2 pieces. It was the cheapest roll and I think a part of me expected it to be similar to rolls that I've had that were riceless at all you can eat locations in California. I'm not too sure if it was actually cooked salmon because it tasted a lot like spicy tuna to me. Not the best choice I could have made and I probably won't try it again since it felt like I was mostly eating crab salad + spicy tuna. This was likely only 2 pieces because each piece was larger than the others. Beast Roll: Spicy tuna, cucumber topped with spicy seared salmon, ikura. Something that isn't mentioned in the ChowNow description is that there is a layer of sauce well. Of the rolls I ordered, this was my favorite but that's probably because I'm sometimes just a sucker for heavier rolls with sauce on them. Tango Roll: Spicy tuna, mango topped with salmon, tobiko. As I write this, I have to note that I didn't notice the mango at all. It's fine by me as someone who doesn't actually enjoy mango but that is something to note. Besides that, I recall this roll being a lot spicier than expected. Pineapple Roll: Shrimp tempura, cucumber, topped with avocado, pineapple salsa. This roll disappointed me the most. I was hoping to get a greater pineapple flavor from it. It's a solid roll but there isn't much of a pineapple taste which rendered the main reason I chose it mute. Overall, I'll go back one day when I'm down to make the drive. read more

We stopped by since we were craving sushi and live close by. It's like dimsum where you order on a piece of paper (no conveyer belt) and they bring it out on colorful plates. The sushi rolls are decent, nigiri is so-so, but the service is outstanding which will make us come back. The entire staff are so smiley and seem to really enjoy working there. We brought our 2 year old daughter, and they gave her a small toy slinky and a light up fidget spinner bracelet which totally made her day (we also saw toys being given to another family's toddler). I doubt handing out toys to kids is the daily norm, but we really appreciated the staff being so playful with the kids. Wish we caught our server's name, and the other server giving out toys, but we left an extra tip. My only critique is the wasabi is sitting out on the table and I don't know how often it gets changed (most sushi places I go to, the wasabi is served on your sushi plate). No longer a conveyor belt sushi place since the pandemic; they still serve sushi made-to-order in small color-coordinated plates. Great for people like me who like to try lots of different plates without committing to just one flavor. The service is prompt and they don't hover, which I appreciate. The sushi and various rolls and appetizers are fresh and good quality for the price. This could have been a 4 star place if the restaurant itself was cleaner. The wall under the conveyor belt was grimey (not something you wanna stare at while eating) and the bathroom could use attention.... Management needs to roll up their sleeves and give this place a thorough cleaning and do some much needed repairs (bathroom tile is coming off the wall, baseboard needs painting, they need to put away their cleaning supplies out of sight of customers, the whole restaurant needs scrubbing from top-to-bottom, etc.) Their Dept of Health rating is "Good" and I can see why.... If they can address these issues then this would a great place to bring your friends for some good sushi but as it stands, not sure if I'd want to show this place off to my buddies. read more

As previous reviews mention, this was once a sushi conveyor spot but the belt has been out of service since covid and has yet to be turned back on following the end of the pandemic. You are still able to order everything they server prior to covid as well as some new additions to the menu but the liveliness and fun of dining in here has been sucked out as all the tables/bar seating are positioned around a broken/disabled piece of machinery. That being said, the waiters are attentive and professional. They serve a wide variety of Rolls, Nigiri, and Rice Bowls: The rolls are 3-4 pieces each and priced $4-$5 so that you can enjoy a few different items from their selection. Their roll size and portion of their fish are below average but all the seafood tastes fresh. Nigiri and Sashimi options are displayed beautifully and taste fresh, but again super thin. The thinnest I have seen across a dozen sushi spots on the Eastside. Like grocery store smoked salmon level thin or a piece of paper, it is see through. Their rice bowls are a proportional nightmare as they are composed of 95% rice. Using my handy digital scale, the amount of fish in a Salmon Don bowl came out to 2.4 oz's for a $15 bowl. Highly unsatisfying level of protein and you are left over with so much plain sushi rice with absolutely no fish or accompaniement to enjoy it with that just ends up going to waste. Unless you're into eating a pound of plain rice with a few thin pieces of fish sprinkled onto the top layer, I'd steer clear from their bowls. read more

Great quality sushi at a very reasonable price. We ordered the sashimi platter, a few rolls and a couple of pieces of nigiri for takeout. The sashimi tasted very fresh and tender. The Lion King roll, Tokyo roll and seared salmon roll were all mouthwatering with flavorful combinations of fish and just the right amount of sauce. I also have a soft spot for white tuna, and the white tuna on the nigiri and in the sashimi platter was the best I've ever had from a mid-price sushi place in the Seattle area. Service was not that good. Though the employees I encountered were extremely friendly, I had to request a menu, when to order, and my bill. They were practicing social distancing through the restaurant so it wasn't busy. There were plenty of staff to accommodate all of the customers. As for the food, I'm not much of a sushi connoisseur but I was satisfied with what I got. Not sure if the portions are typically smaller with Sushi but would recommend ordering two or three rolls. I will return one day. I would give it a 4 1/2 star for the food. read more
